[NYPOST] U.S. and British warships on Saturday shot down 15 suspected attack drones over the Red Sea launched by Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...

war threatened to spread.

The USS Carney, an American destroyer, intercepted 14 drones launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. They "were shot down with no damage to ships in the area or reported injuries," U.S. Central Command said.

The British HMS Diamond also destroyed a drone that was "targeting merchant shipping," said U.K. Defense Secretary Grant Shapps.

He added that attacks on fat merchantmen by Yemen’s Houthi rebels "represent a direct threat to international commerce and maritime security."

"The U.K. remains committed to repelling these attacks to protect the free flow of global trade," he said in a statement.

Global shipping has become a major target during the war between Israel and Hamas, which like the Houthis is backed by Iran.

#5  Apparently USS Cole has been memory-holed. Bomb them back past the stone age. Once. Rinse, repeat as necessary.

#4  The rules of engagement don’t seem to allow anything other than downing the drones. Maybe they will change them once their offensive action against us kills some sailors. Probably sleep in my flash gear until then.

#3   Eventually, one Houti missile will hit

I think if your ship gets hit, it goes on your permanent record. If/when that does happen, steps will be taken.

In the meantime, this is great real-world missile defense practice.

#1  Eventually, one Houti missile will hit - and what the mightiest military on Earth will do then?
