[Korrespondent] The Ukrainian Armed Forces are confronting the Russian Army
Aviation of the Defense Forces carried out strikes on 10 areas where personnel were concentrated and on two enemy control points.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnieper, repelled dozens of Russian attacks and hit an enemy electronic warfare station. The General Staff reported this on January 4.
It is noted that 44 military clashes took place at the front during the day. The Russian Federation continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The Russians actively use operational-tactical aviation and FPV-type quadcopters and carry out assault operations with the support of armored vehicles.
In total, the enemy launched 6 missile and 14 air strikes, carried out 13 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential and apartment buildings and other civil infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
According to the General Staff, the operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
In the Volyn and Polesie directions, the operational situation is without significant changes. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Seversky and Slobozhansky directions , the Russian Federation maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells populated areas from Russian territory, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.
About 15 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling, among them Stepok, Popovka, Konstantinovka, Chuikovka in the Sumy region; Udy, Volchansk, Malaya Volchya, Potikhonovo, Kharkov region.
In the Kupyansky direction, the Defense Forces repelled two enemy attacks near Sinkovka and east of Petropavlovka, Kharkov region.
About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular Sinkovka, Tabaevka, Ivanovka, Berestovo in the Kharkov region.
In the Liman direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations. He fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Belogorivka in the Luhansk region and Yampolevka, Verkhnekamennoye, Spornoye in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repelled three attacks near Bogdanovka, Kleshchievka and Andreevka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of our troops.
More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Grigorovka, Bogdanovka, Klishchievka, Andreevka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdeevsky direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 14 attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutovka, Stepnoy, Avdeevka and another 9 attacks near Pervomaiskoye and Nevelskoye, Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical situation.
About 10 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling, including Novobakhmutovka, Berdichi, Stepnoe, Avdeevka, Severnoye, Nevelskoye in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinsky direction, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the invaders in the Marinka and Novomikhailovka areas of the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried seven times to break through the defenses of our troops.
The invaders also carried out an air strike near Georgievka, Donetsk region. Georgievka, Pobeda, Novomikhailovka, Praskovievka were under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Shakhtarsky direction the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations. More than 10 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling, in particular, Ugledar, Prechistovka, Zolotaya Niva, Staromayorskoye, Donetsk region.
In the Zaporozhye direction, the Defense Forces repelled seven attacks near Rabotinoy and north-west of Verbovoy, Zaporozhye region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore the lost position.
More than 15 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling, among them Poltavka, Krasnoye, Volshebnoye, Malaya Tokmachka, Rabotino, Kamenskoye in the Zaporozhye region.
In the zone of responsibility of the OSUV Odessa in the Kherson direction , Novovorontsovka, Berislav, Tyaginka, Ivanovka, Novotyaginka, Kherson, Stanislav of the Kherson region and Solonchaky, Ochakov of the Nikolaev region were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.
The Russians also carried out an air strike near the village of Zmievka, Kherson region.
According to the General Staff, the invaders do not abandon their intention to dislodge the Ukrainian Armed Forces from their bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper.
During the day, the enemy carried out six unsuccessful assault operations, but Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold their positions and inflict significant losses on the invaders.
