As Regnum reported, on January 20, the Al Hadath TV channel, citing medical sources in Damascus, reported that at least ten civilians were killed when the Israeli Air Force struck a residential area in the west of the Syrian capital Damascus. It was noted that the attack hit one of the houses on Mezze Avenue, which is located near the Iranian Embassy.
On January 2, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced an Israeli air strike on Damascus. The defense department then clarified that the strikes were carried out early in the morning from the Golan Heights on “a number of positions in the suburbs of Damascus”, causing material damage.

Syrian state media said on Monday that "a number of Iranian advisers" were killed in an alleged Israeli attack south of the capital, in a rare acknowledgment by Damascus of Iranian casualties in strikes on Syrian territory attributed to Israel.
It also said non-combatants were killed but did not give a figure for either set of fatalities. Iran’s ambassador to Syria had earlier said there were no Iranian casualties in the strike.
