Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman on Monday announced he would be relinquishing his winning provincial assembly seat from Karachi as he did not win the seat. Addressing a presser in Karachi, Hafiz Naeem said he was returning the seat, but would continue the legal and political battle to reclaim all the seats that his party lost due to rigging. You cannot change people’s mind through fake mandate, he said. Vowing to launch the battle to get back their "winning seats", the JI Karachi chief said even on his winning seat his votes were shown to be 26,000, while he bagged 30,000. In the February 8 general elections, he won the Sindh Assembly seat PS-129 from Karachi Central. |
