For Decades Cuban Spy Held Top State Dept. Jobs

Official Cover people, why do they hate us ?
[NewsMax] Manuel Rocha was well known in Miami’s elite circles for an aristocratic, almost regal, bearing that seemed fitting for an Ivy League-educated career U.S. diplomat who held top posts in Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba and the White House. "Ambassador Rocha," as he preferred to be called, demanded and got respect.
Are there more like Mani? Yes. Bear and woodland defecation rule applies.
So former CIA operative Félix Rodríguez was dubious in 2006 when a defected Cuban Army lieutenant colonel showed up at his Miami home with a startling tip: "Rocha," he quoted the man as saying, "is spying for Cuba."

Rodriguez, who participated in the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba and the execution of revolutionary "Che" Guevara, believed at the time that the Rocha tip was an attempt to discredit a fellow anti-communist crusader. He said he nonetheless passed the defector’s message along to the CIA, which was similarly skeptical.
Klingons 'skeptical' of a patriot, soldier, and professional? Shocking !
"No one believed him," Rodriguez said in an interview with The Associated Press. "We all thought it was a smear."

That long-ago tip came rushing back in devastating clarity in December when the now-73-year-old Rocha was arrested and charged with serving as a secret agent of Cuba stretching back to the 1970s — what prosecutors called one of the most brazen and long-running betrayals in the history of the U.S. State Department.
Source recruitment be hard.

#7  Rocha and his ilk are the reason that I don’t think that countries like Cuba, Russia and China were paying Hunter for access to Joe’s dated garage intel. The big governments all had spies inside to provide the current document, codes etc ala cart by Door Dash. Hunter was probably having Joe bring home files that related to his Burisma work. In actuality, the files were Hunter’s Burisma work. He certainly, was not valuable for his personal experience and expertise. Ukraine has plenty of addicts and hookers that precluded the need to go outside to fill Hunter’s board position.

#5  Greg Allen NPR: ALLEN: Right. Well, you know, he's charged with acting as an illegal foreign agent for Cuba. And there's other charges... a conspiracy charge and numerous counts of fraud. The indictment says after he was recruited by the Cuban intel agency, he became a U.S. citizen and then applied for work at the State Department. And from 1981 to 2002, he served in a variety of diplomatic posts. He was in the Dominican Republic, in Argentina, in Cuba, and then finally ended his career as ambassador to Bolivia. The indictment doesn't indicate what secrets or other information he may have transmitted to Cuba, but he's charged with being an illegal agent. At this point, he's not been charged with espionage.

#3  More likely, CIA thought this guy was actually working for them and didn't want to be told different.

#2  How would we not know the difference, it is the State Department whose last interest is representing the American people.
