#2 It is a long article, but nowhere does it get to the heart of the matter -- the intra-ethnic warfare. It notes the Messalit are a target of the rebels, but does not mention that they are a target because they have thrown in their lot with the Arab government and its army that lost Khartoum and is destroying it, in the re-taking. The map shows that the Arabs control only the capital of north Darfur, and there is no mention the tribes nor the ethnicity of those occupying camps in Chad. Reporting is lousy because no left-wing journalist wants to admit that what is happening is a full-fledged war between black ethnicities (and yes, Sudan's Arabs are black no matter how they see themselves). |
