ONE way used to get money for Islamic Jihad terrorists was to make a check out to the Islamic Committee for Palestine. The ICP was once "the active arm of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine," ... The ICP, a U.S. based "charity" affiliated with the University of Southern Florida, was a front organization for Islamic Jihad until the FBI shut it down in 1995. So, too, was the World and Islam Studies Enterprise... until the middle 1990s. ...the FBI bugged a meeting of several Middle Eastern men in a Courtyard Marriott in Philadelphia on October 1, 1993. The men were there to discuss "Samah." Samah is the backward spelling of HAMAS, the loathsome terrorist organization... Those present discussed how the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development was raising funds to help HAMAS. Although there were clear violations of U.S. law... In the year 2000 this Islamic "charity" raised more than $13,000,000. After HAMAS was declared a terrorist organization by Bill Clinton in 1995, the Treasury Department proposed freezing the foundation's assets. AG Janet Reno blocked the proposal even after a connection between the foundation and Osama Bin Laden was revealed.... Both ICP and WISE popped up in a Wall Street Journal roundup of American outposts of terrorism written by Daniel Pipes and Steven Emerson... The two groups were described... as having been "fronts for the purpose of fund-raising for Islamic Jihad and Hamas. Both groups, according to West, had another role: to bring terrorists into this country (including the leadership of Islamic Jihad) by helping procure entry visas. And both groups were run by a tenured University of Southern Florida computer science professor named Sami Al-Arian. Al-Arian... wasn't well known outside Southern Florida until he appeared on Fox News Channel's The O'Reilly Factor last fall. ... maybe it was because of his classic response to Bill O'Reilly's query whether it was true that Al-Arian had once roared, "Jihad is our path. Victory to Islam. Death to Israel. Revolution. Revolution until victory. Rolling to Jerusalem." ... In any event, the professor's appearance prompted hundreds of angry phone calls to the university... USF president Judy Genshaft was persuaded to fire Al-Arian in December. ...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a few of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
