| [NY Times] Islamic snuffies on Saturday grabbed credit for the rush-hour kaboom on Monday that destroyed a busy bus station in Nigeria's capital, Abuja, killing at least 75 people and wounding 141. "We are in your city, but you don't know where we are," the leader of the Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... terrorist network, Abubakar Shekau, said in a new video that threatens more attacks. "Yes, we are the ones who carried out the attack in Abuja," Mr. Shekau said in the video made available to news outlets. The attack undermined claims by the government and military that they have contained the Islamic uprising to the northeast of the country, and it raised fears that the Boko Haram insurgency is spreading. |
