Typhoid Mary defies orders to stay at home and goes for a cycle
2014-10-31
[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK]
  • Nurse Kaci Hickox, 33, and her boyfriend Ted Wilbur left their home on Thursday morning with their bikes for an hour-long ride
  • She said: 'There is nothing to stop me from going for a bike ride in my home town'
  • She spoke to the press outside the home in Fort Kent, Maine, on Wednesday night, saying she will continue to fight the Ebola quarantine
  • Hickox shook the hand of MailOnline's reporter at the scene and said: 'You could hug me. You could shake my hand. I would not give you Ebola'
  • Maine Governor said he would give up on the state's demand to keep the nurse under quarantine if she agrees to take a blood test
  • However a blood test for Ebola would only be positive if Hickox was displaying symptoms of the virus

#16  She cares for no one and never did. It is these kind of people that ruin lives.

NEVER let that bitch into serious conditions again. Not a serious job and definitely nothing life or death.

#15  FT Kent is so far out that she's only endangering moose and Canucks.

As an American hero, Obumble should make her UN Ambassador for the next 21 days.

#13  Cacaa Kickox is being quite unprofessional and rude. In fact, she is acting like a drunk whose sole purpose for the bing at the bar is to see whether she can drive home without getting pulled over.

#12  I mentioned this in a comment days ago, not sure if anyone read it, so I will quote it again:

Dr. Beutler, an American medical doctor and researcher, won the Nobel Prize for Medicine and Physiology in 2011 for his work researching the cellular subsystem of the body’s overall immune system — the part of it that defends the body from infection by other organisms, like Ebola.

He is currently the Director of the Center for the Genetics of Host Defense at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas — the first U.S. city to treat an Ebola patient and also the first to watch one die from the virus. In an exclusive interview with NJ Advance Media, Beutler reviewed Christie’s new policy of mandatory quarantine for all health care workers exposed to Ebola, and declared: “I favor it.”

“Even if someone is asymptomatic you cannot rely on people to report themselves if they get a fever,” said Dr. Beutler, adding, “You can’t just depend on the goodwill of people to confine the disease like that – even healthcare workers. They behave very irresponsibly."

#11  Worrying about Ebola is racis. Sexis, too.

#10  It's an accepted judicial precedent that if an individual who has HIV bites an cop or corrections officer, the individual can be prosecuted for assault with a deadly weapon. There's multiple instances on the books, in multiple jurisdictions.
So a great deal would seem to hinge on the blood test mid next month. Now, under HIPA regulations, that should be privileged information. We'll see...

#9  If her attitude is shared by a significant percentage of medical workers in the West then essentially all efforts at epidemiological disease control are moot.

If Ebola doesn't do significant harm to Western nations then Ebola in it's present form is just fundamentally incompatible with the epidemiological eco-system of a Western industrial society located in the temperate zone.

If we ever encounter something that's more compatible with our way of life, we're doomed.

#7  The good news: Hickox has returned home.

The bad news: Her nursing license is now ONLY valid in Liberia

#4  The fat, loud mouth in Jersey said "go ahead, sue me" then he let her return to Maine. He also lost his tempter and lambasted a heckler in a speech last week. Not presidential material, not at all.

As far as Typhoid Mary goes, rubber bullets would have kept her inside of her little house, would have kept Teddy there too.

#2  If she does come down with it they should treat it...

... with a flamethrower.

#1  I wonder how Joshua Chamberlain, former governor of Maine, winner of the Medal of Honor, and hero of Little Round Top would have dealt with this woman.
