| Blast in Nangarhar Mosque Wounds 34 Civilians |

| [ToloNews] During Friday prayers in Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. province explosives detonated inside a mosque injuring 34 civilians, according to local officials. Security officials said that the explosives were placed inside the mosque, leaving six of the 34 injured at death's door. This is not the first time that a mosque was the sight of a bombing. Months ago in the province of Pashtun-infested Logar, provincial Governor Arsala Jamla was killed in a mosque where the explosive was hidden inside the Holy Koran. The Taliban in a statement denied responsibility for the attack on the mosque in Nangarhar. |
