Briton charged in UK over Pakistan murder
2014-11-29
[DAWN] A British man was charged on Friday with killing a woman in Pakistain under an 1861 law that allows for British nationals to be tried for murder committed abroad, police said.

Tariq "Nigel" Rana, 30, is accused of killing Gulam Asia, 49, in Lahore on July 27, 2013. She died after being shot several times outside her home.

"Although the murder took place in Pakistain, Section 9 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 provides authority to try a UK national for an offence of murder committed overseas," London's Scotland Yard police force said in a statement.
