Report: Iraqi army officers collaborated with Islamic State in Ramadi fighting
2015-05-28
[Ynet] Several Iraqi army officers allegedly collaborated with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
and facilitated the group to take over the Ramadi region, the wife of a senior ISIS commander Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
, who was killed by the US army in a special mission, told American forces during her interrogation, a report in Saudi paper Okaz said.
"Singing like a bird, she is," added the source -- anonymously, of course.
According to the report, Iraqi intelligence opened an investigation in light of this information.

Meanwhile,

#5  As I said earlier in the week, ISIS is the Iraqi Army's and Syria and Iran's way of going to war with Iraq's sunni population.

I mean, stop and think: a bunch of barbarians are coming over the hill, and you want to get away from them. Do you drive away in your HMMV, or get out and leave the vehicle with the engine running for the barbarian to find while you try to escape into the desert on foot?

#3  Recently in the whitehouse Biden was discussing his 3 state solution and said we have Shia, Sunni, Kurds.... Shouldn't there be 1 more?

The 3 part solution will not work because the oil in the ground is not equally divided.

#1  Anyone with a whit of knowledge of military history knows this was a complete and abject failure of leadership in the officer corps.
