Syrian Army, Hezbollah attack strategic district in southern Aleppo
2016-09-27
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), backed by Hezbollah, continued their large-scale assault in southern Aleppo on Saturday, targeting the strategic Sheikh Sa'eed District that is under Jaish al-Fateh's (Army of Conquest) control.

Led by the 102nd Brigade of the Republican Guard and 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army and Hezbollah stormed the Sheikh Sa'eed District's northwestern corridor, where they were confronted by a large Jaish al-Fateh contingent near the Ramouseh axis.

According to local activists in southern Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah have made considerable progress inside the Sheikh Sa'eed District, capturing several building blocks under the cover of Russian Arclight airstrikes.

Clashes are still ongoing at the moment, as the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah push deeper into the Sheikh Sa'eed District's empty neighborhoods.
