's police director-general says a police squad has killed a suspected Islamic Lion of Islam after a shootout in the capital.

Lazare Tarpaga said Sunday that police tracked down snuffies in Ouagadougou who were sent to recruit trainees. He said they fatally shot a man with a grenade and a gun Saturday. Tarpaga said police are pursuing three others, who are Burkina Faso nationals.

Security Minister Simon Compaore said the government intends to dismantle holy warrior groups in Burkina Faso.
