Taliban assassinate tribal elder who had crafted bravery medal for Trump
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Talibs have assassinated a tribal elder in central Pashtun-infested Logar province of Afghanistan who had crafted a bravery medal out of gold for the US President Donald Trump

front man Zabiullah Mujahid claimed that the elder Gul Nabi was kille in a bomb kaboom in Pashtun-infested Logar province.

Mujahid further added that Gul Nabi had crafted a medal for the US leader and had handed it over to the US Embassy in Kabul.

The handmade medal was prepared with a total cost of $645 with the contribution of the participants of an informal Jirga in which around 300 people had participated.

Syed Farhad Akbari, a community leader in the province, on January 14 told RFE/RL’s Afghan Service that more than 300 people at an informal "jirga," or council, of concerned citizens agreed to award the medal to the U.S. president.

He said the handwritten message on the award states: "This Bravery Medal is from the Afghan people to Donald Trump, president of the United States of America."

Akbari said the cost of the medal was about 45,000 Afghanis ($645), considered a large sum for many in the region, about 60 kilometers outside of the capital, Kabul.

Taliban decides to relocate heroin labs amid relentless airstrikes
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
group leadership has decided to relocate the drugs and heroin labs amid relentless Arclight airstrikes targeting the main financial streamline of the group.

The group has reportedly decided to relocate the labs to mountains and valleys amid fears that the airstrikes would result to civilian casualties.

The latest decision by the group to prevent civilian deaths follows the growing criticisms that the group faces due to civilian deaths as the majority of the civilian deaths are attributed to the operations of the group.

Taliban’s shadow governor for Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
Mullah Manan has reportedly ordered his secretary to act and relocate the labs from the towns and residential areas to mountains and valleys.

In a walkie-talkie conversation with his secretary shared on a Taliban WhatsApp group, the Taliban’s shadow governor of Helmand, Mullah Manan, said "due to one factory hundreds of the public are at risk from bombings and missiles" and called for facilities to shift to "mountains and valley sides" instead, according to The Guardian.

The Taliban group has so far not reacted regarding the report but the US commander in Afghanistan Gen. John Nicholson had earlier warned that the air campaign against the main financial resources of the group would continue.

, emergency services said Monday.

The bombers detonated their explosives inside a house and near a mosque in the Mashamari area of Konduga, 35 kilometres (20 miles) southeast of the Borno State capital Maiduguri, on Sunday evening.

"Three people were killed in the two attacks and seven others were maimed," Bello Danbatta, chief security officer of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), told AFP.

"One of them detonated near a mosque while residents were preparing for the evening prayers and moments later the second one detonated inside a house," said Danbatta, who was involved in evacuation of the victims.

But Ibrahim Liman, of the civilian militia force assisting the military against Boko Haram, said two more victims died on the way to the hospital in Maiduguri, raising the corpse count to five.

The attack came two weeks after five militia members were killed by a male bomber who detonated explosives concealed on him at a checkpoint outside Konduga.

Boko Haram’s nine-year violence to create a hardline Islamic state has killed 20,000 people and displaced 2.6 million from their homes in Nigeria.

The violence has spilled into neighbouring Niger, Chad and Cameroon

Although the myrmidon group has been considerably weakened in a regional fightback mustering troops from Nigeria and its neighbours, attacks persist.

The jihadists have resorted to the use of suicide bombers, mostly women and girls, targeting military checkpoints, mosques, markets, bus stations, schools and other crowded places.

Liege 'terror' attack: Three people shot dead including two cops by gunman 'shouting Allahu Akbar'
[Mirror] A "radicalised" gunman who killed two police officers and a passer-by during a suspected terror attack in Belgium shouted "Allahu Akbar" as he carried out the massacre.
"We'll probably never kmow his...nevermind"
The attacker stole an officer's firearm during a routine check and then used the weapon against police before he took a woman hostage at a school in Liege.

The 30-year-old Belgian man, named as Benjamin Hermans, was then shot dead by anti-terrorist officers, bringing an end to the rampage. He launched the attack just one day after he was released from prison, with local reports claiming he was "radicalised" behind bars.

Belgian authorities said the incident is being treated as terrorism.

India-Pakistan
Two Killed in Kashmir Militant Attack on Indian Army Camp
[AnNahar] Two people have died in a shootout in the disputed territory of Indian Kashmire, officials said Monday, the first attacks since the army suspended operations against the bandidos turbans for Ramadan.

A soldier was killed late Sunday when bandidos turbans attacked an army camp in Kakapora, some 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of the main city of Srinagar, said army front man Colonel Rajesh Kalia.

A civilian driving past was also killed in the exchange, a police officer said.

Three soldiers were later maimed when a roadside kaboom exploded underneath a military vehicle near Shopian district.

No myrmidon group has grabbed credit for the twin attacks.

The assaults were the first in the Kashmire Valley since the army declared a nearly 30-day halt to military operations, the first of its kind in the tense region for nearly two decades.

The decision meant Indian troops would pause operations against turbans and halt door-to-door house searches, but would retaliate if attacked.

Despite the suspension of operations, violence has not abated in the region bordering Pakistain, which also controls part of the disputed Himalayan territory but claims it in full, like India.

The Indian army claimed it killed five bandidos turbans on Sunday as they tried to cross the heavily militarized border.

On May 17, the army claimed three suspected bandidos turbans were killed in a forest area near the border.

Both incidents could not be independently verified.

In a separate clash along the border, a heavy exchange of fire between Indian and Pak forces this month left 16 dead on both sides, forcing around 80,000 citizens living on the Indian side to flee.

India deploys an estimated 500,000 soldiers in Kashmire, which has been divided between India and Pakistain since the end of British rule in 1947.

Rebel groups have been fighting for an independent Kashmire or a merger with Pakistain since 1989.

New Delhi accuses Pakistain of fueling the insurgency that has left tens of thousands of civilians dead, a charge Islamabad denies saying it only provides diplomatic support to Kashmiris' right to self-determination.

Journalists among injured as JUI-F workers clash with police
[DAWN] The main roads leading to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly building turned into a battlefield after the JUI-F workers, who were protesting against the merger of Fata with KP, clashed with police here on Sunday.

Several coppers, media persons and protesters sustained injuries during festivities with the police as the JUI-F workers besieged the assembly building. The protesters converged on the assembly building vowing to disrupt its proceedings if the merger bill was passed.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was summoned on Sunday with a single item agenda to pass the Constitution (Twenty-Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2018 for the merger of Fata and KP.

Although the assembly passed the bill smoothly, yet three main roads of the bustling provincial capital remained closed to all kinds of traffic till conclusion of the assembly session in the evening. The Sher Shah Suri Road, Khyber Road and Grand Trunk Road remained blocked owing to the protest.

IDF raids camp of Duvdevan soldier's killer
[Ynet] Violence erupts as IDF sends forces to al-Am'ari refugee camp near Ramallah in attempt to smoke out Ronen Lubarsky’s killer, who dropped a heavy marble slab on his head last week.

Thirteen Paleostinians were maimed at least five were placed in durance vile
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
Monday in festivities with IDF forces in the al-Am'ari refugee camp on the outskirts of Ramallah during an operation to capture the terrorist who killed 20-year-old Staff Sgt. Ronen Lubarsky last week.

The terrorist dropped a marble slab on Lubarsky's head, leaving him critically maimed. The soldier from the elite special operations force Duvdevan Unit succumbed to his wounds on Saturday.

He was laid to rest later the same day day as IDF forces intensified efforts to apprehend the terrorist who is still on the lam.

The IDF, in joint operations with the Shin Bet, increases its prevention activities by, inter alia, arresting potential suspects every year ahead of the holy month of Ramadan‐a volatile month in which many terror attacks have taken place over the years.

Usually, the IDF encircles and besieges a camp after a terror incident occurs, sometimes partially, even if the terrorist has already been neutralized and arrested during the attack.

This, the IDF says, is done to catch any potential accomplices the terrorist may have had, to prevent copycat attacks coming out of the village or camps by people who may have known the culprit, and to prepare for a raid on his home to gather evidence and testimonies against him.

The army refrained from doing so after Lubarsky was maimed because the attack did not seem deliberate. The IDF maintains that such protocols are used only out of operational necessity to catch turbans on the run or potential terrorists, rather than as punishment for an attack.

Violent outbreaks by Paleostinian residents of the West Bank during raids such as the one Lubarsky operated in are not uncommon, nor is it rare for them to throw heavy blunt objects at the soldiers in an attempt to drive them out of the village or to harm them.

In fact, soldiers are often pelted‐sometimes at close range‐with washing machines, refrigerators and heavy furniture when they operate in the West Bank's refugee camps.

Incidentally, Lubarsky's unit was in the camp to act as a covering force working in conjunction with another unit tasked with finding and arresting "several turbans who carried out attacks in the past" by the Shin Bet.

While the operation had a specific purpose, it caused an uproar in the village which later deteriorated into a full-blown riot, with the army using crowd control measures to disperse rioters.

At the time, an IDF official announcing the incident remarked that "the terrorist who dropped the marble slab was not arrested. The force didn't open fire at the source because it didn't accurately identify it."

Gaza machinegun fire hits Sderot vehicles, buildings; Code Red alarm triggered
[Ynet] Several Sderot structures and vehicles were hit by machinegun fire from the Gazoo Strip Monday evening, which triggered a Code Red alarm in Sderot and nearby communities in the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council. No casualties were reported.

The machinegun shooting came in the wake of several tense days in the border region, that saw several infiltration attempts by Paleostinians followed by IDF retaliatory attacks.

Earlier Monday, the IDF nabbed
You have the right to remain silent...
two Paleostinian gunnies attempting to cross the security fence in the northern strip.

The Paleostinians were found with knives, bolt cutters and an incendiary material on their person. The Israeli soldiers came under fire while the gunnies were being chased. No Israeli casualties were reported and the forces returned fire, killing at least one member of Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",'s military wing while wounding another moderately.
The Times of Israel adds:
Israeli soldiers came under fire from Gazoo on Monday, prompting the military to launch fresh strikes on Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, targets in the Strip, the IDF said. An IDF tank fired at a nearby observation post, the army said. Reports said the shelled position belongs to the Hamas terror group which rules the Paleostinian enclave.

One Gazook was killed and another moderately injured, according to the Hamas-run Gazoo health ministry. Mohammed al-Rudeia, 25, was killed and another man maimed by shrapnel, the Gazook health ministry said. Hamas’s military wing said Rudeia was a member of the terror group.

Paleostinian sources confirmed that Israeli forces shelled targets in Beit Lahia in the northern Gazoo Strip.

Earlier Monday, the Gazoo health ministry said that a man who was maimed several days ago in festivities with Israeli forces on the border had succumbed to his wounds. The report did not say exactly when the man, whom it named as Nasser al-Arini, 28, was maimed
Another Times of Israel article adds:
This was the second machine gun attack on Sderot in under two weeks. On May 16, bullets also struck a number of homes in the town, though in that case no rocket siren was triggered.

According to the city of Sderot, the shots were aimed at an army aircraft that had been flying overhead, and the bullets struck the homes as they fell back down to earth.

"To date, there have been three known instances where specific individuals targeted as part of Operation Inherent Resolve were believed to be Canadian citizens," read the four-page document, obtained by Global News.

The document allegedly refers to the deliberate bombings carried out by the U.S. Coalition against Islamic State

(ISIS) targets in both Iraq and Syria.

In addition to the targets, the document also provided legal justifications for killing the three Canadian ISIS members in the region.

The terrorists’ nationality was allegedly irrelevant, as the target was "first and foremost, an enemy combatant ."

Syrian Army attempts to force Turkish troops out of Latakia
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish military entered the northern countryside of the Latakia Governorate this past weekend, prompting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to take an aggressive approach to force them to leave.

What started as sporadic shelling has since moved to intense rocket fire from both the Syrian Arab Army and Ottoman Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) in the Jabal al-Akrad region.

According to a military source in Latakia, the Syrian Army has been firing missiles and artillery shells towards the mountaintop where the Ottoman Turkish military took up their positions at this past weekend.

The source added that the Syrian Army is attempting to force the Ottoman Turkish military to leave the province, as this is a clear violation of the Astana agreement, which only permits Ankara to establish twelve observation points.

While an observation point has yet to be established, the Ottoman Turkish Army’s presence is considered a move halt the Syrian Army from advancing at another front in northern Syria.

Rebel factions merge together to form large group under Turkish command
[ALMASDARNEWS] A large number of rebel factions in northern Syria announced on Sunday that they will be merging together to form one big group.

According to a statement released by the rebel factions, the following groups will be merging together to form one large force under the Turkish Army’s command:

Faylaq Al-Sham
Free Idlib Army
2nd Coastal Division
1st Division
Freedom Brigade
Darayya Islam Brigade
2nd Army
Victory Army
37th Regiment

This large merger includes factions from northern Latakia, which may explain why the Turkish military recently entered the province.

Islamic State groups resurface in US-held area of Syria: Lavrov
[ALMASDARNEWS] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-related groups have stepped up their activity in the area of al-Tanf, controlled by the United States, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a news conference on Monday.

"We have gathered much evidence some strange things are happening in al-Tanf. In our point of view this area is of no considerable significance for the anti-terrorist operation. In practice we can see that in this area, including the Rukban refugee camp, gangs appear ever more often and, according to our sources, they have connections with the Islamic State."

He recalled that the issue had been repeatedly brought up in the course of various contacts with US partners.

"We drew attention to the fact that this is in conflict with our agreements as to how to arrange for de-escalation work in Syria within the framework of regular contacts between the military," Lavrov said.

Moscow expects Washington to withdraw troops from Syria’s al-Tanf as their presence there is pointless from the military standpoint, Lavrov said, commenting on media reports about US plans to pull troops out of the area.

"As for media reports about the US making plans to withdraw troops from the al-Tanf area, I have already said that this zone was artificially created for reasons that are difficult to understand from the standpoint of military feasibility," he said. "This is why our Defense Ministry has been drawing our US counterparts’ attention to that fact and they seem to be coming to the same conclusion," the Russian top diplomat noted, adding that he expected practical steps to that end.
