-Lurid Crime Tales-
Equality Obama-style: profiteering of neighborhoods, fetal organs
[Kanuk Free Press] Every aspect of the Obama administration's policy of creating equality in America has established the opposite goal. Better characterization of the policy would be that of 're-creating,' as true equality was built into the founding documents at this nation's outset. There is a dissembling penchant of this president to makeover the world according to his invalid, biased perspective.

Data collection quantifying population sectors by race, ethnicity (often incorrectly tagged 'race'), economic standing, location, occupation, employment or lack thereof, education, and anything else government bureaucrats can devise, does one thing: it defines differences. This is precisely contradictory to the stated purpose of the race-profiling database that has been concocted to determine where people of varying color or ethnic origin plant their roots, and how they should be resettled to create multi-ethnic neighborhoods. (Sorry, but I have an aversion to using the improperly applied term of race to variations of people's ethnicity, skin tone, geographic origin and, ridiculously, religion.)

What President Obama and other 'race' zealots have managed to implement through myriad administrative regulations is institutionalized discrimination, self-deprecation, self-hate and, on the other hand, unwarranted arrogance and pride; all of which engender anger and envy. Because of this manipulation of group emotion, the abyss grows wider and deeper between what should be a singular people -- Americans.

When we first wrote about the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing proposal in August of 2013 (see 21st Century Slavery -- HUD vs MLK, Page 16 of Pay Attention!!) the purpose of revoking personal choice of where and how average Americans live, regardless of color or cultural background, was addressed. Now, the directive we saw coming is being implemented with a vengeance as it undercuts every bit of equality that had been gained.

Equality is a mindset that does not see differences through eyes that don't recognize a person's skin color, possessions, type of employment or other factors that are now being abused to separate us from our neighbors.

Equality sees individuals, not categories that are assigned acceptable or unacceptable traits by elitist think tanks or government bureaucracies. The more people are categorized, the more they are dehumanized, which is why someone can eventually disassociate themselves from the "seething masses" that need to be thinned out. Their perceptions become so skewed that those lives no longer have value other than to be parted out for profit, like those children deprived of their first breath to fill orders for organs.

Herman Cain: White House denial of IRS abuse is getting pretty pathetic
[Kanuk Free Press] It's not even controversial anymore to point out that the IRS routinely targeted and harassed conservative groups seeking nonprofit status. However many Lois Lerner e-mails may have been destroyed, what we've already seen - combined with the testimony from the conservative groups themselves - clearly demonstrates that the IRS made it a point of giving conservative groups a difficult time.

And no one with a brain in their head can seriously doubt this was done because elected Democrats - whether in the White House, in Congress or both - wanted it done.

So it's worth asking how President Obama could possibly think he could still get away with just pretending it never happened, as he does in this interview with Jon Stewart on the Daily Show.

The Grand Turk
Turkey's operations focused more on PKK than ISIL
[Hurriyet Daily News] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's three-year-long Kurdish grinding of the peace processor ended last week, as Turkish warplanes bombed and artillery units shelled outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets in northern Iraq in retaliation to the killing of two Turkish coppers by PKK terrorists.

A day before, the Turkish Air Force took off to hit Islamic State

Civil Asset Forfeiture Victims Are Entitled To Be Made Whole
[Forbes] One of the most abhorrent current governmental practices is that of civil asset forfeiture. Turning the usual rules of due process of law upside-down, civil asset forfeiture enables local, state, or federal authorities to confiscate money and/or property from individuals merely on suspicion that the property was somehow involved in a criminal activity.

These odious laws should, as I have previously suggested, go the way of the Jim Crow Laws. They’re unfair, easily abused, and incompatible with due process.

Once property has been taken, it is necessary for the owner to go to court and try proving his innocence – or else lose it forever.

Only by enduring what are often protracted and costly legal proceedings can the person recover the seized property. Many innocent people just can’t fight the system and lose out entirely; others settle with the government, getting back a fraction of what was taken from them.

These seizures are highly lucrative for government bodies. Many police forces pad their budgets considerably with the proceeds from asset forfeitures.

#1  It's clearly a 'taking'. Unless there is a conviction, it's unconstitutional. However, who cares about a rag written by a bunch of old white men over two hundred years ago. Where's the graft in that?

India-Pakistan
Gurdaspur attack
[DAWN] IT was a startling assault, the first in over a decade, in Indian Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

and in an area intrinsically linked to the bitterness of Partition and a more recent fraught communal history.

Yet, the terrorist attack in Gurdaspur -- just a short distance from the working boundary and the Line of Control -- almost immediately became about Pakistain and the ever-present tensions between the two countries.

There was no evidence offered; indeed, even the identity of the terrorists, one of whom is believed to have been captured alive, was not known by the time the Indian media and some -- though fortunately, only some -- Indian officials began to blame Pakistain and the ISI here.

Of course, if caution and common sense do not prevail often enough in India, neither do they in Pakistain.

As the Indian news cycle was dominated by coverage of the 12-hour-long stand-off in Gurdaspur and shrill accusations against Pakistain, the ISPR here chose to release footage recorded by an allegedly Indian drone -- really just a commercially available so-called quadcopter with a camera -- that had been shot down by the Pak border forces.

It was left to the Foreign Office to issue a condemnation of the Gurdaspur attack and to express sympathy for the victims and their families.

A familiar tale, then: India blames Pakistain for any terrorist attack on its soil, even before anyone on the ground could possibly know who was behind the attack and for what reason; the Pak state zeroes in on Indian military escalations along the Working Boundary and LoC to emphasise that the Indian state is not interested in peace.
I guess they pretend not to notice that the cross-border fire from Pakistain is followed anywhere from three to ten days later by a shootout with terrorists. To outsiders the sequence looks stupid and pointless but that's probably because we're not geniuses like the ISI masterminds.
Already, the prime ministerial meeting in Ufa, Russia, appears to have been eclipsed. The Ufa joint statement though zeroed in on the major -- and most immediate -- impediment to the eventual normalisation of ties: the terror threat in the region and the lack of coordination between Pakistain and India when it comes to identifying and eliminating the threats wherever they may be found.

The terror of fighting terror
[DAWN] ON Saturday, July 25, The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
published a report on the conditions in Pakistain's covert internment centres where those suspected of affiliation with the Pak Taliban are detained. Those incarcerated in these special prisons usually return dead or do not return at all. According to the report, their relatives have filed 2,100 petitions in the Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
High Court. Most have not produced any results; thousands hence occupy the murky category of being 'disappeared' persons. Sometimes, when a body is returned, the report says, there is pressure to refuse an autopsy or undertake a quick burial.

The judgement and after
Taliban Khan has egg on his face.
[DAWN] IT may be too early to write off the Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) after the crushing blow dealt by the judicial commission report. Yet the prognosis is not promising. Despite the humiliation there is no sign of Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who is the lightweight's lightweight...
coming out of his delusional self. He says he accepts the verdict, but not really.

He laments that the commission is "leaving the verdict half-finished." What he refuses to accept is that the commission has conclusively rejected his basic plea of systematic rigging in the 2013 elections. One can't stop being amazed at his stubbornness, which may prove his biggest undoing.

The deep fissures and demoralisation within the party in the aftermath of the report was quite predictable. For the past one year, the PTI's politics have been driven by the single-point agenda of forcing mid-term polls. And with that hope shattered, it needs a fresh approach to stay politically relevant and maintain unity in the ranks. This should not be hard for a party with such a strong and popular mass base. But can its leadership move out of its one-dimensional outlook?

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Ambassador John Bolton: Champ's Iran deal will lead to war.
[LA Times] President Champ has made an art form of attacking his opponents rather than substantively defending his own policies, most recently regarding the Vienna agreement on Iran's nuclear program. Essentially, Obama argues that we must either accept his wretched deal or go to war to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons..

As is typical, Champ posits the wrong choice, apparently to distract from the unpleasant reality that the agreement won't work. It will not prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. So the real choice we are faced with is dealing with the consequences of military action or the consequences of a nuclear Iran. Neither is palatable, but the latter is far worse. If the real objective is stopping Iran from getting nuclear weapons, preemptive military action is now inescapable.

This rock-and-hard-place outcome has long been foreseeable. Iran's dogged determination to become a nuclear-weapons state was fiercer and stronger than the West's frail response. Assuming Iran scrupulously complies with every provision agreed to in Vienna -- an absurdly unlikely scenario given the ayatollahs' objectives and history -- its ambitions for nuclear weapons will simply have been delayed eight to 10 years.

In all likelihood, the ayatollahs are already at work violating the accords. After all, Iran has systematically breached its voluntarily-assumed obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty for more than 30 years. Now the president's deal will allow Iran to keep the fruits of its violations. Yes, the deal includes restrictions on uranium enrichment, but Tehran can retain its enrichment program, with guaranteed international assistance in improving it. These concessions are fatal mistakes.

Which, BTW, seemed to be a return to the natural order of things before America decided in the post WWII period to play the expensive and exhausting role of policeman. Now the next generation of the Left will blame the US for not intervening or preempting these traditional wars.

Linda Tripp: The Hildebeest is a liar who treats the public with contempt
[Daily Mail] It was the scandal that saw Bill Clinton impeached and which threatened to bring down his presidency. For many, it continues to define it to this day.

But according to the woman who outed Monica Lewinsky as the president's mistress, the real story was never about Monica. It was about 'subornation of perjury, obstruction of justice... a true abuse of power.' And it was about Hillary.

Because, according to Linda Tripp, it was Hillary who manipulated and stage managed the story, converting herself from a lackluster First Lady with unimpressive approval ratings to admirable First Victim - the blindsided wife standing by her man.
