Tunisia Can't Cope with Massive Libya Refugee Influx
[AnNahar] Tunisia cannot cope with any massive influx of refugees who might seek to enter the country from strife-torn neighboring Libya and will close its border if necessary, the foreign minister said Wednesday.
This is going on across the Middle East, as people flee to the few relatively stable countries remaining, destabilizing them in turn.
"Our country's economic situation is precarious, and we cannot cope with hundreds of thousands of refugees," as was the case during the 2011 revolution that ousted Libyan dictator Muammar Qadaffy
...a proud Arab institution for 42 years, now among the dear departed, though not the dearest...
, Mongi Hamdi told a presser.

"We will close the border if the national interest requires it," he added.

Libya has suffered chronic insecurity since Qadaffy's ouster, with the new government unable to check militias that helped to overthrow him and facing a growing threat from Islamist groups.

Scores of people have been killed in recent days in fighting for control of the capital's international airport, knocked out of commission by the violence, and in the restive eastern city of Benghazi.

The capital Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
has also been hit by fierce fighting between rival militias since mid-July, and a rocket fired in the fighting ignited a fuel depot, which is still blazing.

The violence has led thousands of people to flee the country overland or by sea.

Hamdi did not give a total for the number of people who have entered the country during the latest violence, which erupted two weeks ago. However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
he did speak of a daily figure of "5,000 to 6,000 in recent days".

At the same time, he did say that he had asked the U.N. to be present "in force to face the influx of refugees" if necessary.

Hamdi also said Egyptian and Jordanian migrant workers fleeing Libya could only transit through Tunisia. He said the two countries had asked that their nationals seeking to leave should be allowed to transit through Tunisia.

The minister said the workers should "be provided with plane tickets and should be directly transferred to the airports at Djerba and Gabes" in southern Tunisia.

At the southern border crossing at Ras Jedir, an Agence La Belle France Presse journalist reported long queues of vehicles of all kinds, laden with luggage, waiting to enter Tunisia.

Police and National Guard reinforcements were on hand to patrol the border and were seen searching people and property.

"You never know, wanted individuals could take advantage of the situation to get through or to smuggle arms or other banned products into the country," an officer who declined to be named said.

The Libya-Tunisia border is a busy transit point for all kinds of goods, particularly petrol and food products, which help fuel a large part of southern Tunisia's economy.

Consignments of Libyan weapons are also regularly seized by customs.

Misrata force accuses Zintanis of attacking Tripoli fuel depot
[Libya Herald] Central Region Libya Shield
...a conglomerate of pro-Islamist militias deployed across Libya. It reports to the Libyan defense ministry and is organized like a real army unit. Its commander used to head a Benghazi brigade called Free Libya Martyrs...
, which is based in Misrata and is part of the alliance that is trying to dislodge the Zintani Qaaqaa and Sawak brigades from Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
International Airport, has accused the Zintanis of deliberating bombing the fuel tanks at the Brega Oil and Gas Marketing Company's fuel depot on the Airport Road.

In a statement issued overnight, the Misrata unit also laid blame for the situation on the government, saying that claiming that that it manufactured crises to enable it to control the Libyan public. It accused it of not being impartial.

The Zintanis, who control the area where the depot is located, have already accused the Misratans of targeting it.

Although issued overnight, the statement was in fact primarily an announcement that Central Libya Shield would observe yesterday's 24-hour ceasefire mediated by Tripoli Local Council to enable firefighters to deal with the blaze at the depot.

In the event the ceasefire lasted just six hours.

Libyan government is directing reconciliation efforts from Beida
[Libya Herald] Beida is now the centre of government operations in trying to resolve the armed conflicts taking place in Benghazi and Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
. Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni is based there as he attempts to direct negotiations regarding Benghazi while Mustafa Abdul Jalil, appointed to mediate the Tripoli conflict, is there as well.

Al-Thinni arrived in Beida yesterday. The purpose for the visit, according to a government announcement, is to find solutions to the bloody conflict between the Operation Dignity and Saiqa Special Forces
...Libya's elite army unit, insofar as they have one, formed from a mixture of paratroopers and commandos. The group emerged from a militia with the same name in 2010. It now numbers a few thousand and reports to the Ministry of Defence. It deployed in Benghazi in an attempt to control the carnage. As a result, it has been attacked and several of its officers murdered. The force is popular in Benghazi for its stance against Ansar al-Sharia group...
on one side and Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...
and its allies on the other.

"The Prime Minister called for an urgent meeting between the different parties in order to reach an agreement for a ceasefire and re-establish peace in Benghazi," Cabinet Secretary Ahmed Lamin told the Libya Herald.

Answering a question about whether Al-Thinni would attend the handover ceremony between the General National Congress (GNC) and the newly elected House of Representatives in Benghazi on 4 August, Lamin said that the Prime Minister planned to do so.

The government has asked former National Transitional Council Chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil to lead mediation talks in Tripoli between the Misratan-led and Zintani-led militias fighting.

In response to the request, Abdul Jalil released a statement from Beida yesterday. In it he urged both sides to immediately stop armed confrontations, deliver all weapons to the nearest army base, evacuate all armed units from the capital, yield authority to the elected House of Representatives, and comply with demands to attend reconciliation talks. He also warned that there would be consequences for refusing to "comply with the voice of reason and wisdom," but did not specify what those would be.

However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
sources close to the government say that neither the Misratans nor the Zintanis accept Abdul Jalil as mediator, and that his efforts have been largely unproductive.

For his part, Al-Thinni's efforts to bring a solution to the Benghazi conflict have not seemed to produce any positive movement either.

Iran says Egypt dragging its feet on allowing aid into Gaza
[Ynet] Tehran said 100 tons of humanitarian goods have been waiting for Egyptian approval: 'This is unacceptable.'

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Wednesday 100 tons of humanitarian aid had been waiting for days for Egypt's approval to be taken into Gazoo.

"For the past days we have provided the Egyptian foreign ministry and their interest section in Tehran with information on shipment of humanitarian goods and the list of 57 severely maimed Paleostinian women and kiddies we have offered to bring here for medical treatment, but they have yet to issue a permit," he told the official IRNA news agency.

Egyptian foreign ministry officials were not immediately available for comment.

Arabia
Qatar Invests In The West, And Funds Hamas
[Ynet] The Qatari portfolio includes British supermarket giant Sainsbury's, French oil company Total, Porsche, Volkswagen, Gay Paree Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona; it also gives millions to Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,.

Qatar's investment authority may be slowly taking over the world; and the Western world is indirectly funding Hamas because of it. Isolated and almost alone in the Arab world, Hamas has one sponsor left and that is the world's richest country, on paper at least.

Jonathan Schanzer, vice president of research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told JNS that Qatar is "believed to be the primary financier of Hamas." And the Islamist group, which is currently at war with Israel in Gazoo, is reported to have estimated annual expenses of some $1 billion.

In 2012, then Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani became the first head of state to visit Gazoo since Hamas seized power there in a bloody 2007 battle with Fatah. Al Thani, who was driven around Gazoo by themn Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
, pledged some $400 million to the strip. His son, the British-educated Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, took over as emir following his father's abdication last year, and is known to look on Hamas just as favorably.

The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) is the one of the most ambitious and fast-growing in the world. Over the years, it has moved in on many well-known companies and landmarks, including many of Britannia's most iconic ones.

Last week, former president Shimon Peres slammed Qatar as "the world's largest funder of terror," stating that it should not provide money that is used for rockets and tunnels meant to kill civilians, and if it wants to help, it should build, "but should not be allowed to destroy."

The public may be surprised to find out just how much it is indirectly funding Hamas.

According to Bloomberg, the QIA, which already owns over $100 billion worth of assets, said it's prepared to increase investments in the UK, after claiming shares of and buying out major companies such as supermarket giant Sainsbury's, the exclusive Harrods department store and leading bank Barclays Plc, among others.

Ahmad Al-Sayed, chief executive officer of the Qatari wealth fund, told Bloomberg that the QIA has its eye on Britannia as a major investment opportunity, as it has "great systems, great regulations."

He also told Bloomberg that since its purchase of Harrods in 2010, the QIA has invested approximately $413 million in the business, gaining major revenue.

Additionally, Qatar has shares in a number of oil companies, such as Total SA, as well as Volkswagen, Porsche Automobil Holding SE, and Glencore plc. Meanwhile,
...back at the the conspirators' cleverly concealed hideout the long-awaited message arrived. They quickly got to work with their decoder rings...
the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is the sponsor of FC Barcelona, and the QIA owns Gay Paree Saint-Germain.

Qatar also has a strong history of buying US-made weaponry. Business Insider reported last week that the country has recently bought $11 billion worth of Patriot missile batteries and Apache attack helicopters.

But here lies the dichotomy, according to Schanzer, Qatar depends on the US as an ally, and invests lots of money there, but on the other hand Doha also has strong ties to Hamas.

"Just miles away from (the US airbase in Qatar), you can find the head of Hamas (Khaled Mashal), and there was even a Taliban embassy there for a while too. All of these things make for a foreign-policy anomaly," Schanzer said.

Israeli peace activist Gershon Baskin refuted all claims that Qatari money had been used to fund Hamas terrorist activity. That money, he argued, came from revenue from the smuggling tunnels.

"Let (me) correct some common lies," Baskin wrote Tuesday on Facebook. "Most of the money Hamas used for building tunnels and rockets came from the revenues from smuggling tunnels - the underground economy of Gazoo which was created because Israel and Egypt cut them off from the world yielded multi-millions a month for the Hamas government in taxes and fees for using the tunnels. Since 2012 Hamas has received very little financial support from anyone."

The funds provided by Qatar, the veteran activist said, was used solely for construction.

"Qatari money went directly for fuel and for building a couple of neighborhoods and a few tower buildings in Gazoo. Iranian money stopped. the so-called experts who talk about using donor funds provided for Gazoo for rockets and tunnels are lying and repeating lies. Cement coming from Egypt cost 1/5 the price of Israeli cement. Fuel from Egypt costs 1.60 NIS per liter as opposed to the Israel 7.5 NIS.

"The economic blockade of Gazoo is what created the revenues for Hamas, not donor funds."

Caribbean-Latin America
Bolivia declares Israel terrorist regime
[Iran Press TV] Bolivia has declared Israel a "terrorist state" and revoked a visa exemption agreement with Tel Aviv in protest at the ongoing Israeli attacks on the besieged Gazoo Strip.

The move "means, in other words, we are declaring (Israel) a terrorist state," President Evo Morales said during talks with a group of educators in the city of Cochabamba on Wednesday.

Morales added that the Israeli offensive shows "that Israel is not a guarantor of the principles of respect for life and the elementary precepts of rights that govern the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of our international community."

Signed in 1972, the visa exemption agreement has allowed Israelis to travel freely to Bolivia without a visa.

Kerry in New Delhi to reboot ties with Modi
[ARABNEWS] US Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
flew into India on Wednesday for ice-breaking talks with new Prime Minister Narendra Modi, forecasting a transformation in Washington's troubled relations with New Delhi.
Oooohh, computer talk! So much more modern and high tech than a reset button.
Kerry, who landed in Delhi on an overnight flight from Washington, is the highest-ranking member of the B.O. regime to visit India since the Hindu nationalist Modi won a landslide election in May.

The top diplomat's trip is intended to pave the way for a visit by Modi to the US later this year, nearly a decade after he was denied a visa over deadly anti-Moslem riots in the state where he was chief minister.

For the past two decades, the world's two largest democracies have described themselves as natural allies, sharing similar concerns over China's rise and militancy.

But incidents including the US arrest of an Indian diplomat last year sent ties plunging to their lowest point in years, and analysts say Modi's previous treatment as a pariah still rankles.

And a new row is brewing over a customs deal, despite efforts to emphasize areas where the two sides can make common cause.

In a joint editorial with US Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker in Wednesday's Economic Times, Kerry said Modi's strong mandate opened up possibilities for cooperation on issues from boosting trade to energy.

"The long-standing partnership between the US and India is on the cusp of an historic transformation," said the commentary in the Delhi-based daily.

"Working together, the world's oldest democracy and the world's largest democracy can forge a new era of shared prosperity and security for hundreds of millions of people in India, across Asia and the world."

The US officials will hold talks with Indian officials on Thursday and Kerry will meet Modi on Friday.

For some observers, Kerry's three-day trip is in itself a sign of India's importance. He has focused much of his tenure on crises in the Middle East, and returned just Sunday from a gruelling, unsuccessful mission to end the Gazoo conflict.

Imran tells army to stay neutral on 'Azadi March'
[Pak Daily Times] Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) chief Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who ain't the brightest knife in the national drawer...
on Monday demanded the army should not support the government and stay neutral in his party's August 14 rally.

Imran threatened to file a murder case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
if violence is used against his party's workers during the rally. Talking to media persons he reiterated that the PTI will challenge the imposition of Article 245 in the Supreme Court. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif
...Pak dynastic politician, brother of PM Nawaz Sharif, chief minister of Punjab...
has contacted him and agreed to meet his demands, which included answers to: 1) Who scripted the victory speech of Nawaz Sharif on May 11, 2013; 2) What was the role of caretaker Punjab chief minister Najam Sethi; 3) What was the role of the then-chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry; 4) And lastly why returning officers were not put in palace under the Election Commission of Pakistain.

The PTI chief said that he could ask Pakistain Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri
...Pak politician, and would-be dictator, founder and head of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran and Pakistain Awami Tehrik. He usually resides in Canada, but returns to Pakistain periodically to foam at the mouth and lead demonstrations. Depending on which way the wind's blowing, Qadri claims to be the author of Pak's blasphemy law. Other times he says it wasn't him...
to become a part of his "tsunami march", however, he said he does not agree with his "revolution" agenda. In response to the ongoing rumours of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan
...Currently the Interior Minister of Pakistain. He is the senior leader of the Pak Moslem League (N) and a close aide to Nawaz Uncle Fester Sharif. He is noted for his vocal anti-American railing in the National Assembly. However (comma) Khan told the U.S. ambassador that he was in fact pro-American but he and the PML-N would have to be critical of US actions in order to remain publicly credible. Khan cited his wife and children's US citizenship as proof, which means he's lying to one side or the other and probably both. He wears a wig, but you probably guessed that. since hair doesn't grow naturally in that shape or texture...
considering to join the ranks of PTI, Imran said his party's doors are always open for Nisar, as he is the only person in Pakistain Mohammedan League-Nawaz (PML-N) who is not a darbari (courtier).

Imran arrived in Bannu as promised to celebrate Eid with the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Wazoo. While addressing the IDPs, the PTI chief at first apologised to them for not being able to offer Eid prayers with them because of bad weather. He said that his party and the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
government will do everything they can for people affected by the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan, adding that the entire nation is standing by them as they go through these difficult times.

Iraq
New ISIL Mag Touts Ethics of Execution, Targets Sen. McCain
[FreeBeacon] ISIL vows to 'fight the barbaric Jews' in 'Paleostine'

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant
... the current version of al-Qaeda in Iraq, just as blood-thirsty and well-beloved as the original...
(ISIL or ISIS) promotes the stoning of women, targets "the enemy" Sen. John Maverick McCain
... the Senator-for-Life from Arizona, former presidential candidate and even more former foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution...
(R., Ariz.), and vows to bring its violent campaign to Israel in the latest issue of its propaganda magazine, Dabiq.

As ISIL continues to wage war across Iraq and forcefully promulgate its holy warrior version of Islam, the group's public relations arms is making an effort to justify the terror group's violent campaign and bloody public executions.

The magazine, published by the Al-Hayat Media Center, ISIL's PR wing, mandates the forced conversion to Islam for people across the globe and demands that all Moslems pledge allegiance to ISIL leader His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
, who has announced that he is the caliph, or leader, of the new Moslem state in Iraq.

Israeli Negotiators Land in Cairo for Gaza Talks
[AnNahar] An Israeli delegation arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss with Egyptian officials a possible ceasefire in the Gazoo Strip, airport officials said.

Cairo, a key mediator in truce negotiations between Israel and Gazoo's Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, rulers, was also expected to host a Paleostinian delegation later this week.

Hamas has rejected a ceasefire in the brutal 23-day conflict without guarantees to an end of the blockade of Gazoo, while Israel says it is intent on destroying tunnels used by murderous Moslems to conduct attacks on its territory.

The Cairo airport officials did not identify the two-member Israeli delegation, but said they were scheduled to depart after a visit of several hours, in which they would discuss proposals for a truce.

Palestinian MP raps Western states for massacre in Gaza
[Iran Press TV] A Paleostinian politician says those who gave the Israeli regime the green light to attack the besieged Gazoo Strip should be held accountable for the massacre, Press TV reports.

On Wednesday, Abdallah Abdallah, a member of Paleostinian Legislative Council in Ramallah, said the Western governments are to blame for the Gazoo bloodshed.

The leaders of the United States, Britannia, Germany, and La Belle France are responsible for the violence in the blockaded strip, Abdallah said, referring to them as "the four who gave Israel the green light... to commit this genocide against the Paleostinians."

"How would they react if their children were subjected to what our children [are] in the Gazoo Strip?" Abdallah said.

"Our people will continue to be steadfast. No doubt the wound is deep… No doubt our commitment to defend our country and our cause is priceless."

Since July 8, Israel has been pounding the Gazoo Strip. The air, sea and land strikes by Israel have so far killed over 1,360 people and injured thousands of others in the coastal sliver.

The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Paleostinian resistance movement Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, has been launching retaliatory attacks against Israel.

UN chief slams Israel for shelling school in Gaza
[Iran Press TV] United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Secretary General the ephemeral Ban Ki-moon
... of whom it can be said to his credit that he is not Kofi Annan...
has condemned a deadly attack by Israel against a UN school in the besieged Gazoo Strip.

"It is outrageous. It is unjustifiable. And it demands accountability and justice," said the UN chief in Costa Rica on Wednesday.

According to Gazoo's Health Ministry official Ashraf al-Kidra, at least 17 Paleostinians were killed by Israeli shelling against the UN-run school in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gazoo Strip around dawn.

There were many women and kiddies among the 3,300 Paleostinians who were taking refuge there, according to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Paleostine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The agency released a statement after its representatives visited the attack scene and examined fragments.

"I call on the international community to take deliberate international political action to put an immediate end to the continuing carnage," said UNRWA chief Pierre Krahenbuhl in the statement.

Captured Hamas Operative Reveals Paragliding Attack Plan
[IsraelTimes] A highly trained Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, operative captured by the IDF during the campaign in the Gazoo Strip told Sherlocks that he had prepared to carry out a terror attack against Israeli civilians using a paraglider, the Shin Bet security service announced Wednesday.

The Hamas detainee, who was recruited to the Islamist terror group in 2007 and joined one of the group's special units in 2010, had taken part in a weeklong military-style exercise in Malaysia, along with 10 other members of the group, the Shin Bet said in a statement. During the exercise, which included paragliding training, the Hamas squad focused on perfecting raids from the air.

The squad conducted a second training session in the Gazoo Strip earlier this year, the statement said.

The Hamas operative was tossed in the calaboose
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
near the Paleostinian city of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gazoo Strip, on the night between July 21 and July 22.

A second Hamas operative held in Israeli captivity told Sherlocks that after the IDF began striking targets in Gazoo, he received orders to enter an underground tunnel and await for further commands, Walla reported. For weeks, the operative said, he survived only on dates and water, which were brought to him by two fellow Hamas members. On the third week of the Israeli offensive, after receiving no orders, the operative, a member of Hamas's elite Nukhba unit, exited the tunnel and surrendered to IDF soldiers in the area.

Since launching a ground operation in the Hamas-controlled enclave on July 17, the IDF has apprehended close to 100 operatives, mostly members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
. Soldiers also seized hundreds of computers, maps, and communication devices, as well as weapons.

During searches in the Strip, Israeli troops also uncovered booklets with information on various IDF units, military commanders, and the Gazoo border area in general. One of the booklets contained images of IDF Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Benny Gantz and Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, Channel 10 reported.

Paleostinian sources said that at least 76 people were killed Wednesday in Israeli strikes across Gazoo, raising the Paleostinian corpse count above 1,300 since the IDF first started operating in the Strip. Israel asserts that hundreds of those killed throughout the operation were Hamas or Islamic Jihad fighters.

US Resupplies Israel With Munitions As Gaza Op Continues
[Ynet] American defense official says Israel received access to strategic reserves of grenades and mortar rounds.

The United States has allowed Israel to tap a local US arms stockpile in the past week to resupply it with grenades and mortar rounds, a US defense official said on Thursday.

The munitions were located inside Israel as part of a program managed by the US military and called War Reserves Stock Allies-Israel (WRSA-I), which stores munitions locally for US use that Israel can also access in emergency situations.

Israel, however, did not cite an emergency when it made its latest request about 10 days ago, the defense official said, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
The United States allowed Israel to access the strategic stockpile anyway to resupply itself with 40mm grenades and 120mm mortar rounds to deplete older stocks that would eventually need to be refreshed.

"They didn't ask for it from there but we gave it to them so we could rotate our stocks," the official said.

Additional Israeli requests for US-manufactured ammunition were also being processed in the United States, the official said. The official did not offer further details on quantities or costs of ammunition already supplied or requested.

Israel's embassy in Washington declined comment about the resupply request, including whether it asked for the ammunition because of its operations in Gazoo.

Separately, US politicians were working in Congress to provide millions of dollars in additional funding for the Iron Dome missile shield.

The US Senate Appropriations Committee added $225 million for Iron Dome to a spending bill intended mainly to provide money to handle an influx of thousands of Central American children across the US-Mexico border.

According to the Gazoo Health Ministry, 1,346 Paleostinians, mostly civilians, have been killed since Israel began its offensive on July 8 with the declared aim of halting cross-border rocket fire and destroying the tunnel network of the Islamist group Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,.

On the Israeli side, 56 soldiers and three civilians have been killed.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
U.S. Unveils $378 mn in New Humanitarian Aid for Syria
Where on earth is President Obama getting the money to give away like this?
[AnNahar] The United States on Wednesday unveiled $378 million in new humanitarian aid for the Syrian people, denouncing "appalling 'starve or surrender' tactics" by the regime of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Before going into the family business Pencilneck was an eye doctor. If he'd stuck with it he'd have had a good practice by now...
"The regime is asphyxiating half a million Syrians in Aleppo by obstructing deliveries of food, water, and medicine," Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
said in a statement.

"Syrians all over the country are being butchered at the hands of a ruthless tyrant," Kerry said, strongly condemning "the brutally indefensible and illegitimate Assad regime."

The regime was "dropping dozens of barrel bombs a day on the city and surrounding suburbs," he said.

"The world must act quickly and decisively to get life-saving assistance to the innocent civilians who are bearing the brunt of this barbaric war," the top U.S. diplomat added.

The new aid brings the U.S. total released for Syria since the start of the war three years ago to $2.4 billion, and Kerry insisted that it was "having an impact on the ground -- right now."

Some $1.2 billion has gone towards helping more than 4.7 million people inside Syria, and $1.2 billion is going towards aid efforts for some three million refugees who are being sheltered in neighboring countries.

U.S. aid was helping to feed some four million Syrians inside the country, and another 1.9 million had been treated in more than 300 U.S.-supported hospitals and health clinics across Syria, Kerry said.

"And our assistance feeds, shelters, and provides medicine and water to millions of refugees throughout the region in countries like Leb, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, and Egypt, all coping with the burden of hosting thousands of refugees," Kerry said.

He insisted that Washington remained committed "to finding a political solution to this crisis" even though efforts to bring the regime and the opposition to the negotiating table collapsed earlier this year without any progress.

"We must bring the violence and bloodshed to an end, and work toward a future of dignity and freedom that all Syrians deserve," Kerry said.

US major violator of religious rights: Iran
[Iran Press TV] The US is as a major violator of religious rights in the world and is in no position to judge other countries on freedom of religion, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman says.

"The growing trend of Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
in the US, systematic discrimination against Mohammedans and restricting freedom of religious minorities in the American community have turned the country into one of the major violators of religious rights," Marzieh Afkham said on Wednesday.

She also lashed out at the US support for Israel's atrocities against the Paleostinians, adding that Washington is in no position to pass judgment about other countries on religious freedom.

"The US' all-out support for the Zionist regime's acts and [its] unbelievable restrictions on the followers of other Abrahamic religions residing in the occupied Paleostinian territories, especially [Washington's] all-out backing for the acts of aggression and crimes of the occupying regime in Gazoo have not left any credit for the US government to judge and advise others on religious rights and freedoms," she said.

Touching on the US Department of State's recent annual global report on religious freedom, which listed the Islamic Theocratic Republic as one of the "countries of particular concern," Afkham said such documents are only "instruments" intended to pile up pressure on other states.

"The Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran's constitution clearly respects all the divine religions and considers them free to observe their rituals and ceremonies," the Iranian foreign ministry spokeswoman pointed out.

Iranian Official: We'll Arm West Bank With Missiles
[IsraelTimes] A former adviser to Iran's defense minister said that Tehran would seek to arm Paleostinians in the West Bank with "strategic weapons" including missiles to target Tel Aviv and Haifa.

Iranian researcher Amir Mousavi told Leb's Mayadeen TV channel this week that "a major reshuffle awaits the region" as "new and significant fronts will be opened all of a sudden, to support the Paleostinian cause in the West Bank and Gazoo."

"A new front must be opened from the West Bank, after it has been armed, especially with missiles," Mousavi said in comments relayed by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), "because we know very well that the distance between the West Bank and Tel Aviv, Haifa, and other areas is much shorter than the distance from Gazoo. Therefore, simple means are required. There is no need for long-range missiles. Short-range missiles can change the entire picture in the occupied lands."

Mousavi added that Gazoo would also receive increased military support from Iran. As for the Paleostinian Authority which controls the West Bank and has in recent years cooperated closely with Israel on security issues, Mousavi remarked: "We hope that the brothers in the Paleostinian Authority will help rather than impede this."

On Tuesday Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the Islamic world to arm Paleostinians to allow them to counter what he called Israel's "genocide" in the Gazoo Strip.

In a speech marking the Moslem festival of Eid al-Fitr, Khamenei said Israel was acting like a "rabid dog" and "a wild wolf," causing a human catastrophe that must be resisted.

"The US president issued a fatwa that the resistance is disarmed so that they cannot respond to all those crimes (committed by Israel)," the supreme leader said, referring to Barack Obama
I mean, I do think at a certain point you've made enough money...
's call for the "disarmament of terrorist groups and the demilitarization of Gazoo."

"We say the opposite. The world and especially the Islamic world should arm… the Paleostinian people."

Mark Levin Interviews High-Level Hamas Defector
Those who get their Hamas news from Nancy Pelosi, Prime Minister Recep Erdogan (our “NATO ally” Turkey), or the many Muslim Brotherhood friends of the Obama administration and its State Department may think of this ruthless jihadist enterprise as a “humanitarian” or “political” organization. But if you want to know the real Hamas – and don’t have time to read the Hamas charter, which explains it will be satisfied with nothing less than the destruction of Israel – you would do well to listen to an important interview Mark Levin conducted last night.

Mark’s guest was Mosab Hassan Yousef, a Hamas defector who is the son of one of the organization’s founders, operated at the highest levels of Hamas, and understands the organization through and through.

European ransoms now Al-Qaeda's major funding: NYTimes
[ARABNEWS] Al-Qaeda is increasingly funding terror operations thanks to at least $125 million in ransom paid since 2008, largely by European governments to free western hostages, the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
reported.

The payments totaled $66 million in 2013 alone, according to an investigation by the newspaper published Tuesday.

While Al-Qaeda's network was first funded by wealthy donors, "kidnapping for ransom has become today's most significant source of terrorist financing," said David S. Cohen, the Treasury Department's under secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, in a 2012 speech.

"Each transaction encourages another transaction." The organization has openly acknowledged the windfall, the paper reported.

"Kidnapping hostages is an easy spoil," wrote Nasser Al-Wuhayshi, the leader of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, "which I may describe as a profitable trade and a precious treasure." Al-Wuhayshi said ransom money — reaching around $10 million per hostage in recent cases — accounts for up to half his operating budget.

The paper listed more than $90 million paid to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb since 2008 — by a Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
, Spain, Austria, and state-controlled French company and two payments from undetermined sources.

Somalia's Shabaab Lions of Islam received $5.1 million from Spain, while Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula received nearly $30 million in two payments, one from Qatar and Oman, the other of undetermined origin.

Austria, La Belle France, Germany, Italia and Switzerland each denied ever paying ransoms for hostages. French nuclear company Areva also denied paying ransom.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
last year a former senior French intelligence official told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
: "Governments and companies pay in almost every case." "There is always a ransom or an exchange of some sort: money, the release of prisoners, arms deliveries." The Times article cited former hostages, negotiators, diplomats and government officials in 10 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and said the payments were sometimes hidden as development aid.
