[InvestorsBusinessDaily] Corruption: The third installment of released emails fell hard Friday on the Hillary Clinton campaign. If her candidacy lasts until the end of the summer, there's much more wrong with this country than we thought.
Friday had to be an extraordinarily trying day for the Democratic front-runner. On the same day she releases a letter from her doctor saying she is fit to run for president, the latest tranche of emails showed that she is not fit to hold office.
Even before the 2,000 pages containing 1,300 emails were dumped, the McClatchy newspaper chain was reporting that classified emails stored on the former secretary of state's private server held "information from five U.S. intelligence agencies."
It also included "material related to the fatal 2012 Benghazi attacks."
An evening earlier, the Washington Times reported the intelligence community was preparing for the possibility that Clinton's private email account was filled with "hundreds of revelations of classified information" that could damage national security
...have already damaged is more likely, with regard to national security. The impact on the former Secretary of State's political career is what is under threat...
if not contained. These accounts, of course, are in direct contradiction to Clinton's previous statement she never handled classified material on her private email.
That statement was wrecked again by the Friday release of the emails. Much of the material from this third batch was redacted, indicating that it is classified. Maybe some were marked as classified just before release and well after they were sent. But all? Not likely.
Some of the more interesting emails of the ones that could be read included:
* Clinton's admission that "damn I am getting old."
* A note from aide Huma Abedin telling Clinton that Defense Secretary Robert Gates' "office just called to say they needed call to be secure" -- apparently sent and read with no thought that Clinton's email server needed to be secure, as well.
* An email from a State Department official complimenting Clinton on the coat she wore when landing in Kabul. Another said "she looked great in that blue outfit" she was wearing while saying some "gutsy" and "needed" things about Pakistan.
No, it was not a good end to the week for Clinton.
But after recent developments, perhaps a bad day for her is a good day for the country. Based on her record and her shambolic campaign, a Clinton return to the White House would take the country deeper into the malaise of the past 6-1/2 years.
Sure, there are worse possibilities. Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders is one, and he's certain to become the Democratic front-runner if the Clinton campaign succumbs to scandal. But we doubt Sanders' appeal will go beyond the zealots who now back him. We don't think it would be taking a risk to say he's unelectable.
Vice President Joe Biden is another possibility. He could take Clinton's spot. Yes, he's more electable than Sanders. But he's not quite as far left as Clinton. That's to America's advantage, small though it might be.
Don't count Clinton out until she's gone. She has the favor of the press and the minds of devotees who would vote for her even if the emails showed she wants to establish Shariah law here. That's what scares us.

Not-so-odd thing: Sanders is getting the support of the young, the harder-left, the higher-ed types, the gays, and they all tend to be white.
Rodham, on the other hand, is being supported by the more traditional elements of the Democratic Party, such as unions and minorities, The money-changers are also lining up behind her (as well as a certain ex-guv from Florida.)

Saunders' appeal to the young is to a large degree due to his appearance of honesty. Heck, that appeals to me too, and I'm far from young. He says the same thing in the same accent regardless of audience, and we know where he stands, even if we disagree, which is rare these days. I even find an issue or two where I even agree with him - e.g. 'Too big to fail is too big to be', but unfortunately he cannot comprehend that the logic applies to government as well as banks.

Someone somewhere was stripping classification markings from documents and electronic communications and using cut and paste to send unmarked emails to Hildy. That person(s) is the key to getting this into a rolling prosecution of all of the top tier of the Clinton Machine. Don't tell me that a CART Team of the FBI can't work this if unleashed.

Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... , must not be allowed to control one of the world's largest reserves of uranium ore.
In Van Hipp's recent book, The New Terrorism, he proposes we help Niger deplete its uranium reserves before bandidosLions of Islam can get them. The author is a friend and his efforts to bring attention to this issue are commendable.
This idea may take years to complete and Hipp believes we should coordinate with the French since French companies work in two of the main uranium mines. The third is run by the Chinese. The Chinese should be cooperative due to their long-term demand for energy.
We must also work with other G7 countries to push for economic aid to Niger in order to get them to extract as much uranium as possible. Intelligence cooperation against Boko Haram from Nigeria and potential Tuareg separatists in the north will also be crucial. Niger is one of the world's poorest countries. Uranium is its leading export. Our allies and we must make sure it's sold to the right people and that Niger has a way to safely keep the proceeds.
I don't know if safely keep the proceeds is possible for a reasonably corrupt, very poor Third World country... And then there's this:
If all politics is local in the United States, all politics in Africa is tribal. Van Hipp explains how Niger has experienced rebellions from Tuaregs in northern Niger where the uranium mines are located. The Tuareg are a Berber people, who have waged separatist rebellions in both Mali and Niger. The most recent one in Mali ended with a ceasefire a few months ago. We must not wait for another Tuareg rebellion before working to deplete Niger's stockpile.
Boko Haram is also a tribal phenomenon, as well as Islamic. Both the founder of Boko Haram, Mohammed Yusuf, and its current leader, Abubakar Shekau, are from the Kanuri tribe. While the Hausa and Fulani tribes make up much of the Moslem elite in Nigeria, the Kanuri are marginalized and live in the Borno State, its poorest area.

Mencken's classic one-liner: "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong." One might add, "dangerous," because Trump appeals to our desire to blame someone else for problems we created. If you want something to worry about, have a look at the math questions that Chinese high school students have to answer to qualify for college admission. Let's review the facts. Too many nuanced credentialed thinkers never heard of the Gordan Knot. Remember these are the same 'thinkers' who believed that by integrating China into the world economy they'd give up thousands of years of aggressive culturally based nationalism.
BTW, I was taught by the esteem credentialed lecturers that the tariffs and trade restrictions of the 20s and 30s were a contributing cause of and/or the extension of the effects of the Great Depression. Given by the employment metrics of the 30s we are in a Depression and do not have similar trade obstructions, maybe its time the 'conventional' wisdom be reexamined as instead of thinking about importing goods in trade, it's time to think of exporting unemployment.

Does he mention that immigration from the low productivity people will
a) reduce wages for those aboriginal inhabitants of a similar productivity to the migrants, thus making higher profits for employers.
b) increase rents making the cost of living for inhabitants higher while those who live off rents will be richer.
Only someone being deliberately ignorant of basic economics could say immigration was cost free. So I assume he's lying by ommision because he's in the group that benefits from the subsidy caused by not charging migrants for the right to work.

Goldberg or Golman? Who the hell is this guy?
McCain called Trump's supporters crazies and Goldberg is calling them simpletons. As far as I'm concerned his answers are the ones that are a little too easy because they don't answer anything at all.
So Goldberg is a pillar of wisdom? First of all he presents these charts purporting to show that illegal immigration from Mexico is less now than it was before 2008. His source is the Pew Hispanic Center and I never heard of them either. So, right off the bat, he has a credibility problem.
Besides, the border is still wide open. Drugs and illegals are still flowing freely. A lady in San Francisco was recently murdered by an illegal alien and a drug lord who just escaped from a Mexican jail has threatened to assassinate Trump. How many months ago was it that we had that little Children's Crusade? You want some anecdotal evidence? Try visiting a school or a hospital emergency room in southern California. You better learn Spanish.
Then he says the Chinese are intellectually superior to us and besides, the growth in trade with China has slowed. Oh yeah? Who invented the Internet? Which country put the first men on the moon? But maybe they are smarter because these days you simply cannot buy a computer that wasn't made in China. Go to a Target, WalMart, Macy's or any other store of your choosing and try to find an item that wasn't made in China. Well, you can. But you'll have to look pretty hard.
But no. I don't blame the Chinese or the Mexicans. I blame crooked morons like McCain and Goldberg for saying that anyone who wants to do something about it is either crazy or a simpleton.

The brutal truth is that the actual alternatives before us are not Mr. Obama’s deal or war. They are conventional war now or nuclear war later. John Kerry recently declared that Israel would be making a “huge mistake” to take military action against Iran. But Mr. Kerry, as usual, is spectacularly wrong. Israel would not be making a mistake at all, let alone a huge one. On the contrary, it would actually be sparing itself—and the rest of the world—a nuclear conflagration in the not too distant future.
