Jubaland speaks on landmine attack on AMISOM convoy
KISMAYO, Somalia -- Jubaland has spoken on landmine attack on a convoy carrying Burundian-AMISOM soldiers in the southern port city of Kismayo on Saturday, Garowe Online reports.
"This is Radio Jubaland. We're speaking..."
Spokesman for Jubaland administration Abdinasir Seerar Mah told a news conference that eight civilian bystanders sustained injuries in the futile landmine attack by beleaguered Al Shabaab group.

Mah added that the cowardly explosion was apparently coordinated and wished swift recovery to the wounded.

“I call on residents of Kismayo to cooperate with security forces and keep vigil on organized crimes,” stated Jubaland spokesman.

Vice president Gen. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismael Fartaag later today toured Kismayo General Hospital where the victims of the landmine attack are being treated.

Burundian peacekeepers are said to have escaped unharmed.

Bomb blast kills two policemen in Cairo
Cairo - A bomb blast near the Egyptian foreign ministry killed two policemen on Sunday, state television said.

A Reuters witness earlier heard a blast in the area and smoke was seen rising briefly from the neighbourhood where the foreign ministry is located. Sirens were heard and people were running.

The explosion occurred on a sidewalk in the neighbourhood of Boulaq Abu Eila, under the May 15 Bridge, according to state television and the state news agency.
Ynet adds:
A bomb blast beside Egypt's foreign ministry killed three policemen on Sunday, including a key witness in a trial of deposed Islamist President Mohamed Morsi.
Imagine that!
The blast, the worst attack in Cairo for months, killed two police lieutenant colonels and a recruit, according to the foreign ministry. There was no immediate claim of responsibility but the operation resembled those carried out by Islamist insurgents seeking to topple the US-backed government, underlining security challenges facing President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Another Ynet article states:
A roadside bomb went off on a busy downtown Cairo street on Sunday, killing two policemen and a passer-by near the foreign ministry, Security officials said.

They said the explosion targeted a police checkpoint near the back entrance of the Nile-side ministry building, and that another two people were wounded in the blast.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
48 hour rule. At this point we can be pretty sure there was an explosion, at least two people died, and possibly Ansar Bayt al Maqdis was involved.

Egyptian Army Kills Palestinian Trying To Infiltrate Sinai Through Tunnel
[Ynet] Two others tossed in the clink
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
after the three ignored Egyptian border guards' orders to stop and tried to return into the tunnel instead.

A Paleostinian man trying to infiltrate Sinai through a smuggling tunnel was rubbed out and two others arrested by the Egyptian army on Saturday, Paleostinian media reported.

The three were spotted exiting a tunnel near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on the Egyptian side of Rafah.

The Egyptian border guards ordered them to stop, but instead the three Paleostinians tried to return into the tunnel. The border guards opened fire, killing one of the Paleostinians and arresting the other two.

Paleostinian news agency Ma'an quoted sources saying the Egyptian army has announced a state of alert on the border with the Gazoo Strip following intelligence on a potential infiltration of gunnies from Gazoo to Sinai.

Following the ouster of Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, ally Mohammed Morsi and his Moslem Brüderbund, the Egyptian army has launched an extensive operation cracking down on jihadists in the Sinai Peninsula.

The Egyptian army said is has destroyed over 2,000 smuggling tunnels connecting the Gazoo Strip to Sinai. This crackdown makes it harder on Hamas to smuggle goods, arms and construction materials into the Strip, and harder on Paleostinian jihadists to infiltrate Sinai and attack Egyptian army posts.
The Times of Israel adds:
The incident came as the Egyptian military launched a campaign against Sinai-based terror groups. Egyptian planes struck targets in the northern Sinai town of Sheikh Zuweyid, and the military closed off the towns of Rafah, Sheikh Zuweyid and El Arish, Israel Radio reported.

The attacks came a day after an al-Qaeda-inspired militant group in Egypt beheaded a man in the restive Sinai Peninsula for allegedly conspiring with Israel.

Militants from the Ansar Beit al-Maqdis group dumped the beheaded body on the road in the town of Sheikh Zuweyid, and continue to hold several other men for the same reason, according to the officials. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief reporters.

Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, whose name means Champions of Jerusalem in Arabic, posted an online video in August showing the beheading of four men in Sinai. The men in the video said they helped Israel target the group's members with drone strikes in exchange for money.

The group claimed most of the major militant attacks that have hit Egypt since the 2013 ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi.

Egypt Court Sentences 5 To Death On Terror Charges
[Ynet] An Egyptian court on Saturday convicted and sentenced five people to death on charges of forming a terrorist group and attacking a church, killing one policeman, the country's state news agency reported.

News agency MENA said the court sentenced two others to life in prison in the same case.

Prosecutors had charged the defendants with forming a terrorist group that targets Christians and security forces starting last October.

Three of the defendants were tried in absentia, meaning that there will be an automatic retrial if they are placed in durance vile

Benghazi's bloody Friday -- ten targeted murders in 24 hours
[Libya Herald] In an unprecedented wave of killings across Benghazi assassins have slain ten of the 13 individuals they targeted in the past 24 hours.

It was the worst day of violence in the city since the 2011 revolution in what appears to have been an orchestrated campaign by Death Eaters to intimidate Benghazi's inhabitants.

As well as the murder of the popular youth activist and blogger Tawfiq Bensaud and his friend Sami Kwafi, which has sent reverberations of across the country, a further eight people were killed in Benghazi. The use of liquidations as a weapon against activists, journalists and particularly security officials has been renewed with a vengeance following a relative lull in the city in recent months.

Five members of the military and security apparatus were killed in Benghazi yesterday. Military intelligence officer Tawfiq Al-Agori was rubbed out in the city's Hey Salem district. He was murdered as he returned to Benghazi from Tokra. He was 40 years old. Medical sources said was rushed to Jalaa hospital before being transferred to BMC, but did not survive his wounds.

Army Colonel Fathi el-Misallati was shot and killed by unknown assailants in the city's Guwarsha district. The area is a well-known Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...
stronghold and has been subjected to regular Arclight airstrikes by Operation Dignity since May.

Air Force Colonel Mohammed Al-Meshiti was also murdered in the in the surge of violence as well as Hussam Al-Arafi, a member of Benghazi Security Directorate. He was shot in the Kwefia area. Another officer, colonel Fathi Absul Salem, was killed in the Al-Keesh district.

Besides Tawfiq Bensaud and Sami Kwafi, three other civilians were assassinated. None appear to have had any ties to Operation Dignity or the military. Hussein Al-Obeidi and Ahed Al-Hassuni, were killed at roughly the same time yesterday although in separate attacks, sources at BMC, where their bodies were taken, told the Libya Herald. Khalifa Gassil appears to have been killed at a bogus checkpoint.

At 10 am yesterday, in the first of the string of liquidation attempts, unknown gunnies critically maimed 50-year-old former army colonel, Fathia Al-Sharif Al-Shafi. She has sustained injuries to her face and has one bullet wound in her hand, sources at Benghazi Medical Centre (BMC), where she is receiving treatment, told this newspaper. Shafi was driving in Benghazi's Hadiq area at the time of the attack.

Salafist Imam Sheikh Abdul Salem Al-Nirmari has also been receiving treatment at BMC and is in a critical condition following an attempt on his life yesterday. Salafists
...Salafists are ostentatiously devout Moslems who figure the ostentation of their piety gives them the right to tell others how to do it and to kill those who don't listen to them...
have been targeted in a series of liquidations in Benghazi. In July three Salafists were killed in the city in three days because of their support for Operation Dignity.

Wasim Abu Dabos, a journalist and Tawfiq Al-Arafi, a security intelligence officer and resident in Hay Salem were also targeted in the attacks but escaped unscathed.

Assasinations have become increasingly common in Benghazi, though no days has been as bloody as yesterday. In the past, as in February, large numbers of killings provoked protest and public outrage.

Europe
Report: Belgium Thwarts Planned ISIS Attacks
[Ynet] The Belgian authorities have prevented several attacks by jihadist fighters returning home from Syria and by sympathizers with the Islamic State holy warrior group, a report said Saturday.

The daily L'Echo cited unnamed sources as saying the planned attacks could have been similar to the one on the Jewish Museum in central Brussels in May which left four people dead.

The suspect in that case, Frenchie Medhi Nemmouche, spent more than a year fighting with Islamist Lions of Islam in Syria and is now being held in Belgium on charges of "murder in a terrorist context".

Up to 400 Belgian nationals are estimated to have gone to fight in Syria, with about 90 known to have returned home, L'Echo said.

"Our starting point is that among them, one out of nine aim to carry out an attack," a source said. "That is a conservative estimate, if you also take into account the people who help them."

The newspaper said its sources did not want to give details of the planned attacks nor of the operations to prevent them, for reasons of security and so as not to alarm the public.

Several arrests have been made, it added.

Officials declined to provide any details but did confirm that several operations had been carried out.

"We are working full time on the problem of the returning fighters," Belga news agency cited a federal judicial front man as saying.

"We work together with the security services and that led us to carry out several operations," the front man said.

Belgium like many European countries is increasingly concerned about nationals going to fight in Syria and Iraq for fear they will return home battle hardened and even more radicalized, posing a threat to security.

In June, a court ordered that 46 suspected members of Sharia4Belgium, a radical Islamist group believed to be involved in sending young fighters to Syria, should stand trial on various charges, including involvement in a terrorist organization.
The Times of Israel adds:
The European Commission was among possible targets for jihadist fighters returning from Syria, reports said Saturday, as the Belgian authorities cracked down in an effort to thwart extremist attacks.

Dutch public broadcaster NOS said at least two people among those arrested in the Belgian operations came from the The Hague.

“They were planning an attack. One of the targets was the European Commission building” in Brussels, known as the Berlaymont building, NOS reported, citing unnamed sources.

“Individual commissioners were not particularly targeted. It would be more like the Jewish museum attack… with the aim to kill as many people as possible,” it added.

ISIL militants moving freely in Istanbul: Video
[Iran Press TV] A newly-released online video shows people in ISIL clothes with the group's flag travelling freely in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

The video filmed on the Istanbul subway shows two young men wearing ISIL T-shirts freely heading for their destination.

This comes as shops in several countries have been promoting ISIL clothes, toy equipment and gifts.

The footage has raised major concerns that those purchasing such clothes are somehow showing loyalty to the terrorist group.

Experts say the footage circulating online appears genuine and has been corroborated by other reports.

Quoting Turkish government officials and media reports, The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
reported on Monday that Turkey is one of the biggest sources of imported muscle for the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
group, which has captured large swathes of land in Iraq and Syria.

The newspaper cited the example of one former fighter who had been taken to Syria along with 10 of his friends and joined the ISIL after 15 days of training in the city of Raqqa.

This is not the first time that media expose links between the Turkish government and Takfiri holy warriors.

German television station ARD has recently revealed that an office, run by ISIL-affiliated Turks, helps foreign forces of Evil cross the Turkish border to join the terrorist group's forces of Evil in Iraq and Syria. The report said forces of Evil have been paid up to 400 euros to join the battles.

The German state TV station added that there are more than 2,000 forces of Evil joining ISIL who come from Europe, adding that they enter Istanbul as a tourist and then cross borders into Iraq and Syria.

49 Turkish Citizens Free, Turkey Denies Paying Ransom To IS
[IsraelTimes] Security sources in Turkey say the government did not pay a ransom for 49 Turkish hostages freed by the Islamic State Saturday.

According to the Turkish daily Hurriyet, Turkish security sources said the country's National Intelligence Agency was involved in the "rescue operation" that did not include military involvement.
Well done, guys! Does this mean Turkey is now free to help operations against ISIS?
According to one hostage freed Saturday, the Turkish captives were treated better than others because they were Moslems. "Still, we were not comfortable, as there was a war going on outside," he said, according to Hurriyet.

Earlier Saturday, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced that the 49 Turkish hostages who were seized by the Islamic turbans in Iraq have been freed and safely returned to Turkey, ending the country's most serious hostage crisis.

The Turks, including diplomatic staff, were seized from the consulate on June 11, when the Islamic State group overran djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, Iraq and stormed the Turkish Consulate there. The hostages included Consul General Ozturk Yilmaz, other diplomats, children and special forces police.

Davutoglu told Turkish news hounds during a visit to Baku, Azerbaijan that the hostages were released early on Saturday and had arrived in Turkey. He was cutting his visit short to meet with the hostages in the province of Sanliurfa, near Turkey's border with Syria.

He did not provide details on the circumstances of their release but said the hostages were freed through the intelligence agency's "own methods" and that no operation was carried out. He thanked Turkey's intelligence agency and the Foreign Ministry's head official for their efforts toward their release.

Turkey had publicly resisted joining a coalition to defeat the Islamic State group, citing its 49 kidnapped citizens.

The United States had been careful not to push Turkey too hard as it tried to free the hostages.

The turban group has beheaded two US journalists and a British aid worker who were working in Syria as payback for Arclight airstrikes that Washington has launched against them in Iraq.

"I am sharing a joyful news which as a nation we have been waiting for," Davutoglu said. "After intense efforts that lasted days and weeks, in the early hours, our citizens were handed over to us and we brought them back to our country."

Thirty-two Turkish truck drivers who were also seized in Mosul in June 6 were released a month later. Turkey did not provide information surrounding their release.

Israel-Palestinian 'Solution' To Be Put To UN Security Council: France
[IsraelTimes] A "solution to the conflict" between the Israelis and Paleostinians will be put to the UN Security Council, French President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
said Friday after meeting Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
in Gay Paree.

"We will have a resolution, to be presented to the Security Council, that will say very clearly what we expect from the (peace) process and what the solution to the conflict must be," Hollande told news hounds in a joint news conference with Abbas.

The French president said that stop-start negotiations had gone on "too long" and "there is a perception that there will never be a solution to end the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict, even though we know the outlines" of a possible deal.

The most recent Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,-Israel confrontation, which in July and August killed 2,140 Paleostinians -- roughly half of which Israel says were gunnies -- and 72 Israelis, mostly soldiers, was "the third time that Gazoo has been destroyed," Hollande said.

"What we must look for is a durable peace accord," he said, adding that stalled peace talks "must now reach their end."

Abbas urged "all countries to assume their responsibilities to end a conflict that has lasted more than 66 years."

"Making peace will give added legitimacy to the fight against terrorism in the region," he added.

Abbas, who is trying to build support ahead of a new Paleostinian diplomatic push within the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
, said that La Belle France could give impetus to an Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
-backed plan calling for an end to Israeli occupation of the Paleostinian territories and the formation of a Paleostinian state based on pre-1967 lines.

After La Belle France, Abbas is to go on to New York to participate in the annual UN General Assembly starting September 24.

The Paleostinians, who have already won observer state status in the world body, are threatening to join the International Criminal Court
... where Milosevich died of old age before being convicted ...
, which could open the way to them urging the prosecution of Israeli officials for "war crimes." Hamas, which indiscriminately fired 4,600 rockets at Israel during the 50-day summer conflict, would also be vulnerable to prosecution.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Nusra Front 'kills' captive Lebanese soldier
[Al Jazeera] The al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli sh-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front, al-Qaeda's affiliate in Syria, has killed one of the Lebanese soldiers it had been holding in captivity, according to Lebanese security sources and a Twitter statement.

The killing of the soldier, if confirmed, will be the first to have been carried out by the Nusra Front, which along with ISIL is holding over a dozen more Lebanese soldiers captive.

The Twitter statement on an account affiliated with Nusra Front said on Friday that the soldier had become "the first victim of the intransigence of the Lebanese army which has become a plaything in the hands of the Iranian party", referring to Hezbollah.
An Nahar adds:
The al-Qaida-affiliated al-Nusra Front released on Saturday the video of the execution of captive soldier Mohammed Hamiyeh after conflicting reports had emerged over his death.

The video showed Hamiyeh being executed by a shot to the head, reported Turkey's Anatolia news agency.

A soldier nearby, identified as Ali al-Bazzal, was shown pleading to his family to mobilize otherwise he too will be executed.

Earlier on Saturday, al-Nusra Front sources told LBCI television that they demand the release of 15 Roumieh prison inmates in return for the soldier's corpse.

60,000 Kurds Facing ISIS Advance In Syria Flee To Turkey
[Ynet] Islamic State turbans storm across northern Syria with tanks, heavy weaponry, causing tens of thousands to flee in panic.

Tens of thousands of Syrian Kurds have crossed into Turkey in the past 24 hours, fleeing an advance by Islamic State fighters who have seized dozens of villages close to the border and are advancing on a Syrian town.

Turkey opened a stretch of the frontier on Friday after Kurdish civilians fled their homes, fearing an imminent attack on the town of Ayn al-Arab. Islamic State is now within 15 km (9 miles) of the town, also known as Kobani, according to a Kurdish commander on the ground.

Islamic State's advances in northern Syria have prompted calls for help by the region's Kurds who fear a massacre in Kobani. The town sits in a strategic position on the border and has prevented the radical Sunni Moslem turbans from consolidating their gains across northern Syria.

"Clashes started in the morning and we fled by car. We were 30 families in total," said Lokman Isa, 34, a farmer who had crossed into Turkey.

He said Islamic State fighters entered his village, Celebi, with heavy weapons and the Kurdish forces battling them only had light arms.

"They have destroyed every place they have gone to. We saw what they did in Iraq in Sinjar and we fled in fear," he told Rooters in the Turkish town of Suruc.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus told CNN Turk television on Saturday that 45,000 Syrian Kurds had crossed a 30-km section of the border since Turkish authorities opened it on Friday. That figure was later updated to 60,000.

Kurdish forces have evacuated at least 100 villages on the Syrian side since the Islamic State onslaught started on Tuesday and have abandoned control of scores as the bully boy group gained ground.

"Islamic State sees Kobani like a lump in the body, they think it is in their way," said Rami Abdulrahman, who runs the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors Syria's civil war.

More than 300 Kurdish fighters crossed into Syria from Turkey late on Friday to help push back Islamic State's advance, he said, adding it was not clear which group the fighters belonged to.

Closing in
Esmat al-Sheikh, head of Kurdish forces defending the town, said festivities were taking place to the north and east on Saturday.

Islamic State fighters using rockets, artillery, tanks and armored vehicles had advanced further towards Kobani overnight and were now within 15 km, he told Rooters by telephone.

At least 18 Islamic State fighters were killed in festivities with Syrian Kurds overnight as the bully boy group took control of more villages around the town, according to the Observatory.

Islamic State took full control of about 30 villages near Kobani which had been abandoned by Kurdish forces late on Friday, Abdulrahman said. Another 30 villages were under fire, he said.

Iraqi Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani called on Friday for international intervention to protect Kobani from the Islamic State advance, saying the Death Eaters must be "hit and destroyed wherever they are".

The United States is drawing up plans for military action in Syria against Islamic State which has seized swathes of territory in Syria and Iraq, proclaiming a caliphate in the heart of the Middle East.

Western states have increased contact with the main Syrian Kurdish political party, the PYD, whose armed wing is the YPG, since Islamic State led a lightning advance in Iraq in June.

The YPG says it has 50,000 fighters and should be a natural partner in a coalition the United States is trying to assemble to fight Islamic State.

But such cooperation could prove difficult because of Syrian Kurds' ties to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), a group listed as a terrorist organization by many Western states due to the bully boy campaign it has waged for Kurdish rights in Turkey.

The PKK on Thursday called on the youth of Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast to join the fight against Islamic State.

Kurdish Fighters Head To Syria To Fight ISIS
[Ynet] As more than 60,000 Kurdish refugees flee towards Turkey, hundreds of fighters head in opposite direction to battle radical krazed killers.

Hundreds of Kurdish fighters have crossed from Turkey and Iraq into neighboring Syria to defend a Kurdish area under attack by Islamic State krazed killers, as leaders of the ethnic group appealed for international assistance in their battle against the Lion of Islams.

The movement of the Kurdish fighters into Syria reflected the ferocity of the fighting in the northern Kobani area, which borders Turkey. Militants of the Lion of Islam Islamic State group have been barreling through the area over the past three days, seizing villages and forcing at least 60,000 Syrian Kurds to flee into Turkey.

"Kobani is facing the fiercest and most barbaric attack in its history," said official Mohammed Saleh Moslem, head of Syria's powerful Kurdish Democratic Union. The groups' members dominate the Syrian Kurdish group known as the YPK, which is fighting the Islamic State krazed killers.

"Kobani calls on all those who defend humane and democratic values... to stand by Kobani and support it immediately. The coming hours are decisive," he said in a message sent to news hounds.

On Friday, the president of Iraq's largely autonomous Kurdish region, Masoud Barzani, warned that the Islamic State group's attacks on the Kobani area in northern Syria "threaten the whole entirety of the Kurdish nation and it has targeted the honor, dignity and existence of our people."

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Kurdish official Nawaf Khalil said that fighters were streaming into the Kobani area from Turkey. The Observatory, which obtains its information from a network of activists on the ground, estimated their numbers in the hundreds.

A military official in Iraq's northern Kurdish region said some 600 fighters also crossed from there into Syria, heading toward Kobani. The fighters belonged to the PKK, a Kurdish movement that waged a long and bloody insurgency in southeast Turkey. The PKK is based in Turkey, but they have a base in the Qandil mountains in the Kurdish region of Iraq.

"The PKK entered early this morning and they headed to Kobani," said the official, who requested anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak to news hounds.

Ethnic Kurds dominate a mountainous region that straddles Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey.

Syrian Kurdish fighters had been successfully fighting off the Death Eaters for the past two years. They even clashed with the Islamic State group's fighters in northern Iraq, carving a safe passage for thousands of embattled Iraqis of the Yazidi minority, whom the krazed killer group sees as apostates.

But the tide changed in September. Islamic State group fighters, using weapons and armor seized from Iraqi soldiers who fled the krazed killers' advance in June, are now sweeping through the Kobani area.

As the fighting continued, Khalil said Kurdish fighters had evacuated several other villages preemptively to ensure the safety of residents. More than 60,000 Syrian Kurds had crossed into Turkey since Friday, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said.

"Some of our brothers are being placed with their relatives, some are being taken to local schools and state facilities, others are being hosted in tents," Kurtulmus said.

The battle over Kobani is part of a long-running fight between the Islamic State group and Syria's Kurds that has raged across a band of Syrian territory stretching along the Turkish border from the north to the far northeast, where large numbers of Kurds live. The festivities are one aspect of Syria's broader civil war -- a multilayered conflict that the UN says has killed more than 190,000.

The effort to engage Western countries in the crisis unraveling in the Kobani area is part of a diplomatic push by Kurds, who are seeking to align themselves with US-led efforts to create an international coalition to fight the Islamic State.

But it's not clear if the US would be willing to assist the Syrian Kurdish fighters. The YPK is viewed with suspicion by many Syrian rebels and their Western supporters because of perceived links to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Trampler of Homs...
's government. That may be changing, however, as Kurdish fighters battle alongside some Syrian rebel groups against the Islamic State in northern and eastern Syria.

NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis....
member Turkey is also wary of the group, which it believes is affiliated with the Kurdish PKK movement. Turkey has so far been cool to any international coalition to fight the Islamic State group, but if Western countries are seen publicly arming the Syrian Kurds, it would likely destroy any hopes of cajoling the Turkish government into cooperating.

Suicide Car Bomber Kills 3 At Hezbollah Checkpoint
[Ynet] Leb's state media says that three people were killed in a suicide boom-mobileing at a checkpoint manned by the Shiite Hezbollah militia.

The NNA news agency said the bomber detonated his explosives-rigged vehicle on Saturday at the checkpoint about 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) from the Syria border.

It wasn't immediately clear if the casualties were bystanders or Hezbollah fighters.

It was the first such bombing since February. The attack was likely linked to the war in neighboring Syria.

Syria Kurds Kill 18 ISIL Terrorists near Turkey Border
[ABNA.IR] The overnight fatalities included one terrorist of Chinese nationality, press tv reported.

The Britannia-based so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Saturday that the festivities took place near the town of Ain al-Arab, known to the Kurds as Kobane.

The observatory said "heavy festivities" were underway on Saturday in the area around the town.

Over the past three days the Death Eaters have seized sixty Kurdish villages around Ain al-Arab. Hundreds of Kurdish people have been kidnapped by ISIL Death Eaters following the invasion of their villages.

Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, the pastor had finally been wrestled from the pulpit.

Turkey has opened its Southern border to allow thousands of Syrian Kurds fleeing the ISIL Takfiri

group enter the country.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told news hounds in Azerbaijan that more that 4,000 Syrian refugees were sheltered.

Some 1.5 million Syrians have taken refuge in Turkey in over three years of conflict in Syria.

Earlier, the president of Iraq's Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani
... hereditary head of the Kurdish Democratic Party, maybe a little too close to the Medes and the Persians for most people's tastes...
, urged the international community to use all means to protect Kobane against the Takfiri threat.
