Combat-Decorated Green Beret Takes On a New Enemy: The Washington Swamp
[American Thinker] Many politicians in Washington, D.C. are more concerned with getting elected than with governing this country. Veterans see this as something that goes against their spirit. They served in the military to protect and defend, and now they want a chance to serve in Congress to fight for their fellow Americans. Their mission is to get results and not constantly be lame-duck representatives. One such candidate is Michael Waltz, who is running in Florida's District 6, the seat Ron DeSantis currently holds as he runs for governor. He interviewed with American Thinker about why he is running for office.

He told American Thinker, "I have been serving my country my entire life, twenty-two years as a Green Beret. I wake up in the morning thinking about the issues this country is facing. We can either yell at the TV or roll up our sleeves and serve in the political arena. When someone is in the foxhole, he does not care about differences in race, religion, creed, sex, or economic or political background. It is all about mission and country. There is a commonality of service on how we should move this country forward."

Waltz's résumé shows that he has multiple kinds of experience. A retired Army lieutenant colonel, he was awarded four Bronze Stars, including two for valor. A counterterrorism adviser during the George W. Bush administration, he worked in the Pentagon as a defense policy director for secretaries of defense Rumsfeld and Gates, and in the White House as Vice President Cheney's counterterrorism adviser. He is a small business-owner, CEO of Metis Solutions.

#2  Frankly, I wish the White House would talk more about their accomplishments.

Someone missed the Trump UN thingy yesterday.

#3  Looks like a good candidate to replace DeSantis. Waltz was an anti-Trumper in 2016. Seems like he has come around to being a Trump supporter. It's either Waltz(R) or a Democrat. Waltz looks like a good choice.

Grassley letter to Feinstein.

#1  What we should expect from him. Now if Grassley had gone after the MSM too.

#2  Feinstein should be censured. Better yet, tossed out of the Senate by the voters. However, we'd end up with someone equally bad or worse.

#3  Feinstein should be censured. Better yet, tossed out of the Senate by the voters.

California has a new system in which only two candidates are on the general election ballot and these are the two top vote getters in the primaries. What this means is that, if the two top vote getters in the primaries are Democrats, Republicans are effectively disenfranchised in the general election. Republicans have no candidate for whom they can vote, we only get to choose between two Democrats. It sucks. No third parties either.

In our last Senate election, Kamala Harris (D) ran against Loretta Sanchez (D). I just left that part of my ballot blank. I couldn't bring myself to vote for either one of them.

This November I'll vote for Kevin de Leon (D) who is running against Diane Feinstein (D). I don't know much about de Leon and I suspect that he'll be just as bad as Feinstein if not worse.

But JohnQC is right. Feinstein should rightfully be tossed out of office on her wrinkled old ass. This whole Ford thing is only the latest outrage. That business with her Chinese chauffeur who turned out to be a Chicom spy is probably far worse if anybody would ever investigate. The fact that her husband has made millions in Chinese deals that had to be cleared by the communist government is suspicious at best, stinks to high heaven and should also be investigated.

DiFi must go.

GOP Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith Voted for Hillary Clinton in 2008
[FreeRepublic] A previous leader of the Democratic party confirmed on Thursday that Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary. Rickey Cole, the previous leader of the Mississippi Democrat Party, confirmed in a Facebook comment on Thursday. “Cindy was for Hillary in 2008,” Cole wrote in a Facebook comment on Thursday night. indy Hyde-Smith urged more women to run for office when asked about Hillary Clinton becoming the first woman nominated for a major political party in 2016. “We are always supporting women,” Hyde-Smith told the Clarion-Ledger. We want to promote women. I think women...

If you think about it for a moment, who is the best/worst choice?
Clinton, Obama or McCain?
I'm not sure.

#3  She has been a Democrat but switched to Republican in 2010. Despite voting for Hillary, she has supported Trump and he is campaigning for Hyde-Smith. She identifies as a conservative, is an NRA member, is anti-abortion, and is a fiscal conservative. I don't get the Hillary vote in 2016 or the previous Donk tag.

#4  A lot of conservative Republicans voted for Hillarity in Dem primaries.

They were extremely concerned that The Lightbringer® could be our next president and went for the lesser of three evils.

If I remember correctly, even Rush suggested doing it.

#5  I was going to vote for Hilly in the 2008 primaries, but an ice storm shut down Northern Virginia that evening.

A sign from the heavens?

Star Tribune sues to unseal U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison's divorce records
Posted by: g(r)omgoru || 09/26/2018 02:09 || Comments || Link || [0 views] Top|| File under:

#1  The local DFL Twin Cities "news" stations have buried all Ellison assault cases. And the DNC attacks on his victims.
Posted by: Woodrow || 09/26/2018 6:33 Comments || Top||

#2  The "impartial" lawyer "investigating" the domestic assault allegations is the law firm partner of the Democrat's lawyer.

Doubtful, I'm sure her check has cleared by now.

#4  No,she's been quite vocal about how poorly she's been treated by the "believe her" crowd.
Posted by: Rob Crawford || 09/26/2018 7:04 Comments || Top||

#5  "The Star Tribune's motion to intervene and unseal the records follows a similar action by Alpha News, a right-leaning online news and opinion site."

Thought there was something weird about the STrib (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the DFL) going after their fair-haired boy(metaphor, obviously.)
Turns out some nasty right-wingers were going to look for evidence of a pattern of violence, so the STrib needed position themselves as "independent journalists" for damage control purposes.

#6  The battering video must have been set up in anticipation that a beat-down was likely.

I'm not a great fan of Ellison or the Democrats. He is a Muslim convert and a supporter of Louis Farrakhan. As a voter, I like to know as much about a candidate as possible. Too often we end up buying (or voting) for a "pig in a poke" because the candidate's history and record gets buried.
