#11  Do a test at home get some real food and store bought put in container for one month refrigerate none or next to none on real food store bought could be dropped from planes on a foreign hostile country and be used as a weapon!

That's not a test, Whulet Shavins7256, that's a certainty, whether the food came from the store or was produced at home, unless the food is stored in a bent-neck flask heated at the beginning of the storage period. The experiment was done nearly two centuries ago, before refrigeration was invented, and is still replicated in science classrooms to this day.

Do calm down. I've already deleted almost all of your posts in this thread for over-excited unreadability, because as a moderator that's my job. I've left the two above, so that I can answer them, in the hope that you will join us in assessing the current situation in the War on Terror, the main purpose of this site. If you can do that without panicking, that would be very, very helpful.

Your "Wake up, sheeple!!!!" posts are not helpful, as much because we are not sheeple as because you have not yet told us anything new. I am just a little Midwestern suburban housewife, but I know about radiation-induced mutations in the search for improved farm products, an artificial method to rapidly create the kind of mutations that appear naturally, if much more slowly in the wild -- it's why we have all those new varieties of apples in recent years, and broccoflower in the vegetable section. I also know that almost all harmful mutations cause the body containing them to die quickly, causing harm to no one but the carrier. But sometimes successful mutations accumulate, and we get Homo sapiens, etc. Thus it could be argued that mutations are also a good thing, even if one isn't personally fond of those late-coming blue-eyed blonds and green-eyed redheads.

Besoeker, well said! Thank you very much.

#13  Rambler, you should have met the members of my daughter's public elementary school's PTA: the former marketing director of a large hospital chain in Los Angeles, the former head of human resources of a mid-size company, a sculptress, a CPA, a number of practicing and non-practicing engineers and scientists, the regional head of 3Com (one of the few men in the PTA, he handled all the school's computer stuff), a former architect/city planner, a number of lawyers, the usual retired teachers... and me. The doctors tended to come in for science days and game days rather than joining committees, the other stay-at-home dad was an Eagle Scout who, along with the master gardener, helped me run the school's five acre nature preserve. Most of us also baked cookies.

We are not your grandmother's suburban housewives.

Red and blond hair and light coloured eyes are fairly recent mutations, as I understand it, following pale skin as a response to the move into northern climes. Those who dislike the idea of mutations ought to object to such recent innovations in human physical appearance as well.

Afghanistan
Taliban Dominate Parts of Sar-e Pul After ANA Ambush
[Tolo News] Following an ambush last week in which the Afghan National Army (ANA) suffered heavy losses, the Alaf Sapeed area has become a Taliban stronghold.

TOLOnews news hound Rateb Noori traveled to Sar-e Pul province to find out more about the incident that occurred last Monday.

In Sar-e Pul city, the capital of the province, everything seemed normal, but outside of the city, the situation was very different.

"Alaf Sapeed is very dangerous, when we were coming, we saw a total of 14 national army vehicles set on fire," said Abdul Hameed, a resident of Kohistan
...a backwoods district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distinguished by being even more rustic than is the norm among the local Pashtuns....
at district.

Since last Monday, the Alaf Sapeed valley has become a Taliban hotbed, and local residents report that the Afghan cops cannot travel through it without getting attacked. When asked to take the TOLOnews team to the area, a local guide refused because he said it was too dangerous.

Adeena is a driver who drives the route through the valley every day. He said that there are not enough security check posts from the center of the province out to the outlying Kohistanat district.

"Parts of the Sar-e Pul province is hilly, that is why having air support is very important," Deputy Provincial Governor Abdul Ghafoor Dastyar said. "We had asked for air support from the foreign troops in the incident, but our request was not answered positively; if we had air support last week, we would have not have had such heavy losses."
Cause, meet effect. Air support requested -> Karzai bitching and moaning about civilian casualties -> tighter controls on air support. Karzai leaving makes no difference now; the command and control pipes are already blocked with political crap.

According to the provincial governor front man, Jawad Afghan, the women were carried by the Taliban into the mountains of Farah's capital and rubbed out because of adultery relations with men.

He said that the bodies were discovered by Afghan cops and taken to the hospital.

The police have started investigations about the incident, he added.

Egyptian Troops Killed In Gaza Tunnel Collapse
[Ynet] At least three soldiers crushed while searching smuggling tunnel ; 52 suspected forces of Evil nabbed
Please don't kill me!
across Egypt.

At least three Egyptian troops died when a smuggling tunnel on the border with the Gazoo Strip collapsed on them as they were investigating it on Saturday, a military official said.

Rescuers recovered the bodies of an officer and two soldiers, and were looking for a fourth body in the rubble. Another soldier was injured in the collapse, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief journalists.

Egypt's military has been sealing hundreds of smuggling tunnels under the Gazoo border because authorities believe they are used to smuggle weapons into the restive Sinai Peninsula, where Islamic forces of Evil routinely carry out attacks on soldiers and police.

The interior ministry said Saturday that security forces have arrested 52 suspected forces of Evil who operated in eight different cells with the aim of targeting Egypt's infrastructure, including power stations, railroads, water plants and other services.

Ministry front man Hani Abdel-Latif said the suspects were apprehended in Giza ‐ a district of the capital ‐ Alexandria, two Nile Delta provinces and two southern provinces. He said the suspects attacked and vandalized a train as well as power and mobile pylon poles. He said they are also accused of obstructing traffic on main roads and plotting attacks against police.

Abdel-Latif said some of the suspects were plotting to disrupt the academic year by spreading chaos among students in Alexandria, Egypt's second largest city, and attacking university staff in the Nile Delta city of Zagazig.

He said some of the suspects were linked to the Moslem Brüderbund, which the government has declared a terrorist organization following the July 2013 ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, who hails from the group.

Protests on university campuses have become the main form of rallying for Morsi supporters. Security forces have cracked down hard on such protests.

The Brotherhood has denied involvement in any violent attacks. Most of the main attacks since Morsi's ouster have been claimed by smaller, more radical groups.

LNA claims advance in Warshefana district
[Libya Herald] The Libyan National Army (LNA) has claimed that its troops moved into the Warshefana town of Zahra today, meeting no resistance from Libya Dawn
...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar...
forces. They were nowhere to be seen, a bigwig in the LNA's Western Region operations room told the Libya Herald.

The operations room was set up in Sorman last month by the Chief of Staff Major-General Abdul-Razaq Nazhuri under the control of Brigadier Idris Madi.

The source said that the forces had moved into the strategically important town, 40 kilometers southwest of Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
and which fell to Libya Dawn forces last month, after taking control of the Warshefana area of Nasiriya further south. The operation, he claimed, was being coordinated by the Chief of Staff himself.

The source also added that the troops were now poised to move to Zawia.

The LNA forces are believed to be mainly Zintanis from the Qaaqaa and Sawaiq brigades, with Warshefana units alongside but there are also unconfirmed reports of regular LNA soldiers being among them.

Officially, according to the Chief of Staff, the two Zintani brigades are part of the LNA.

There has been no confirmation of the LNA assertion and claims yesterday by Brigadier Madi to have moved into the area were immediately denied by Libya Dawn who insisted that its still controlled the entire Warshefana district. Similarly, reports that Misratan units had pulled out of the area following a dispute with those from Zawia and Janzour have not been confirmed.

The claims and counter-claims are part of the intensifying propaganda struggle taking place at present in Libya which bears remarkable similarity to the efforts by the Qadaffy regime to control the news.

The accuracy of information coming from the western battlefront is hard to assess with neither side willing to give a full account of what is happening.

Fresh fighting in Obari
[Libya Herald] There have been fresh festivities in Obari between the largely Tebu-manned joint security room and the Tuareg militia linked to Dawn Operation that has been at the centre of recent unrest in the town. Fighting started yesterday leaving one person dead and three injured.

"Clashes were renewed yesterday evening between the Tebus and Tuaregs," the front man for the local joint security room, Bashir Al-Mabrouk Younis, told the Libya Herald. He claimed the Tuaregs had attacked and that there had been no provocation from his forces' side.

According to Obari locals, the fighting intensified today, with missiles and heavy artillery being used.

Armed fighting erupted in Obari on 17 September between the local Tebu joint-security room and pro-Dawn Tuareg forces from outwith the area, but mediators from Zintan, Wadi Al-Shatti and nearby towns mediated a relative peace in the town. It almost collapsed, but at the beginning of October the two sides agreed to form an joint force to maintain peace in the town and avoid further festivities.

However,
a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all...
sporadic shooting and sniping have continued. "Yesterday's festivities left one dead and three injured," Younis explained.

Obari, in south-west Libya, has a majority Tuareg population. Tebus account for about a quarter of the residents. Until the festivities, there had been no problems between local Tebus and Tuaregs. A number of Obari Tuaregs are reported to have joined Khalifa Hafter's Operation Dignity forces.

Tawerghans flee fighting in Benghazi as suicide bomber kills four in Buhdeima
[Libya Herald] Almost the entire population of Garyounis and neighbouring Bu Sneib have now fled because of continued shelling in the area. This includes all the Tawerghans at a refugee camp in Garyounis.

"Some 510 Tawerghan families at the Garyounis camp fled to Gemenis and Ajdabiya" Abdulrahman Al-Shikshak, head of Tawergha Local Council based in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, told the Libya Herald.

Some Tawerghans had been maimed as a result of the shelling, he said, and it had caused chaos and panic. "Missile shrapnel caused injuries to some people, but not serous injuries," Shikshak said.

A massive fire at the camp last night, following the evacuation, has since been reported, causing considerable damage and likely to make any immediate return impossible.

"The families are now staying in five schools in Gemenis and the rest have gone to Ajdabiya seeking shelter," Shikshak explained.

Gememis Municipal Council met yesterday to organise how best to provide accommodation, food and medical attention for the Tawerghans.

Shikshak's own council too is now urgently seeking funds to help to its refugees across the country but, according to him, does not know where to ask. "We are in need for financial support to aid our refugees, and we torn as who to ask."

Tawerghan refugees are spread throughout Libya having been forced out of their town at the end of the revolution because of its support for Qadaffy and involvement in the siege of Misrata

For his part, the director of the Benghazi branch of the Libyan Authority for Relief and Humanitarian Assistance, Mohammed El Atram, was quoted by Buwabat Al-Wasat saying that the entire population of Garyounis and Bu Sneib had fled as had most residents in Majouri.

His organization was starting a full list of all those who had been displaced by the heavy fighting in the city, he said.

Meanwhile last night, a jacket wallah went kaboom! and killed three civilians at a roadblock in Buhdeima. The attack is believed to be in Dire Revenge for the murder by local vigilantes of a Buhdeima family of Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...
supporters.

Following the death of Abdel Salem Ben Sweidi and his three sons Mustafa, Khaled and Ibrahim, rubbed out in their home on Wednesday morning, the Benghazi Revolutionaries' Shoura Council reportedly threatened to avenge it.

Those killed in the suicide kaboom have been named as Majdi Al-Orabi, Adel Al-Falah, Said Al-Hassouni. Their bodies and the remains of the suicide bomber were taken to Benghazi Medical Centre. A fourth man gravely maimed in the attack was also taken there.

It is reported that until last night, the BMC has received 47 bodies from the fighting since it began three days ago - 20 of them yesterday alone.

Boko Haram fighters mount deadly attacks after Nigeria 'ceasefire'
[REUTERS] Suspected Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
Lions of Islam have killed dozens of people in five attacks on Nigerian villages that occurred after the government announced a ceasefire to enable 200 kidnapped girls to be freed, security sources and witnesses said on Saturday.

However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package...
the government cast doubt on whether the attacks really were Boko Haram or one of several criminal groups that are exploiting the chaos of the insurgency. A front man said talks to free the girls would continue in Chad on Monday.

The fresh attacks dashed hopes for an easing of the northeast's violence, although officials remained confident they can negotiate the release of girls whose abduction by the rebels in the remote northeastern town of Chibok in April caused international shock and outrage.

A presidency and another government source said they were aiming to do this by Tuesday.

Mexican authorities arrest notorious gang leader
[INDEPENDENT.CO.UK] Mexican authorities have announced the capture of the gang leader believed to have colluded with corrupt coppers in the disappearance of 43 college students.

Sidronio Casarrubias' arrest was announced just hours after thousands of protesters erupted into the streets of Acapulo to demand the safe return of the male students who vanished in the southern state of Guerrero three weeks ago.

Attorney general Jesus Murillo Karam said Casarrubias' arrest, along with one of his lieutenants, would open a "new line of investigation that can quick and more easily get us closer to the truth" in the case.

However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken...
Al Jazeera's Rachael Levin said from Mexico City although the arrest was significant, the government's effort to end drug-related violence in the Mexican state remained in doubt.

"They are trying to show that they are cracking down," she claimed. "But cleaning up the government and the system here ‐ that takes a lot longer."

Authorities have also placed in durance vile
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
22 coppers, who are believed to have links to the Guerreros Unidos, or 'United Warriors', gang which Casarrubias is alleged to lead.

Federal prosecutors said the two were arrested in the western city of Aachen. They were identified only as Tunisian citizen Kamel Ben Yahia S. and Russian national Yusup G. because of German privacy rules.

Iran Guards, Pakistan Officer Dead in Border Incident
[Tolo News] Two Iranian border guards and a Pak paramilitary officer were killed in a shooting incident, sources on the two sides said Friday, as Tehran said rebels tried to infiltrate the country.

"Several rebels" also died in the fighting Thursday night, Iran's news agency ISNA quoted a military official as saying, adding that a car and weapons were seized.

Meanwhile,
...back at the bunker, his Excellency called the chief of staff and complained that the artillery was keeping him awake...
an official in Pakistain said a paramilitary officer was killed and four soldiers maimed when their vehicle came under fire by Iranian border guards.

"The FC (Frontier Corps) patrol was chasing two suspects in a car when the Iranian border guards opened fire from across the border, killing one junior commissioned officer and wounding four soldiers," front man Wasey Khan told AFP.

The home secretary of Pakistain's Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
province, Akbar Hussain Durrani, confirmed the incident and the casualties.

It was not clear if the car being pursued by the Paks was the same one seized after the shooting incident across the border.

Balochistan is adjacent to the Iranian province of Sistan-Balochistan, where ISNA said the shooting occurred and where rebel attacks earlier this month killed five people, four of them security forces.

Iranian media said 14 people were tossed in the calaboose
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
in connection with those attacks.

Last month an Iranian soldier was killed and two pro-government murderous Moslems maimed in an attack blamed on the Sunni myrmidon group Jaish-ul Adl (Army of Justice).

The same group captured five Iranian soldiers in February, four of whom were released in April. The fate of the fifth man remains unknown.

Sistan-Balochistan province has a large Sunni Moslem community in an otherwise predominantly Shiite country, and has been plagued by violence involving Sunni murderous Moslems and drug smugglers.

Iran has repeatedly asked Pakistain to act to "stop the infiltration of terrorists" and has tasked the elite Revolutionary Guards to monitor the restive border region.

Pakistain's resource-rich Balochistan is home to a long-running separatist conflict that was revived in 2004, with nationalists seeking to stop what they see as the exploitation of the region's natural resources and alleged rights abuses.

The idea of giving greater autonomy to the province, the size of Italia but with only nine million inhabitants, is highly sensitive in a country still scarred by the independence in 1971 of its eastern portion, now Bangladesh.

targets at least twice in the besieged Syrian town of Kobani on Saturday after fierce shelling by the turbans hit the town centre.

Shelling continued after the strikes, according to witnesses.

Islamic State turbans have been battling Kurdish fighters for a month to take control of the town near the Turkish border, but stepped-up coalition air strikes have helped Kurds fend off the advance.

The coalition has been bombing Islamic State targets in Iraq since August and extended the campaign to Syria in September.

Kobani Kurds foil ISIL attempt to cut off border with Turkey
[Iran Press TV] Kurdish fighters battling the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
ISIL hard boyz in the Syrian town of Kobani have managed to thwart a new attempt by the murderous Moslems to cut off the border with neighboring Turkey.

Kurdish official Idris Nassen said the ISIL members launched a fierce attack from the east towards the Turkish border on Saturday before being repulsed.

The murderous Moslems are said to have suffered heavy losses in the fighting and were forced to send in reinforcements.

Heavy fighting
... as opposed to the more usual name-calling or slapsy...
is currently underway between ISIL hard boyz and Kurdish forces in Kobani, also known as Ain al-Arab, and black ISIL flags are seen flying in some districts of the town.

Turkish military has also positioned its tanks and ground forces on the other side of the border to beef up security.

Meanwhile,
...back at the the conspirators' cleverly concealed hideout Montefiore's foot was still stuck and the hound had completely soaked his uniform with slobber...
several fresh Arclight airstrikes carried out by the US-led military coalition have struck ISIL positions in Kobani.

On Friday, a Kurdish military commander, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, said Kurdish fighters managed to force out the ISIL hard boyz from most parts of Kobani. He expressed optimism about the possibility of liberating the entire town in the near future.

Lebanon blocks Syrian refugees from entering: UNHCR
[Iran Press TV] The United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) says Leb has sharply cut the influx of Syrian refugees fleeing foreign-sponsored militancy in their homeland by refusing to let them in.

"Our understanding is that people who are coming to claim refugee status are not being permitted to enter in the way that they were previously," Ninette Kelley, UNHCR's representative in Leb, said on Saturday.

"What we've seen over the last two to three weeks is that there are greater restrictions.... We've seen that there are fewer people approaching us for registration which is also indicative of tightening of the border," she added.

The United Nations' figures show a drop of around 40,000 in the number of Syrian refugees since the end of September.

Kelley said restrictions took effect on Leb's northern border in August, and were extended to the main official border crossing, Masnaa, on its eastern frontier in September.

More than 1.1 million Syrian refugees are currently taking shelter in Leb. The influx of Syrian refugees is exerting huge pressure on Leb's poor infrastructure, education and health systems.

On Saturday, Lebanese Social Affairs Minister Rashid Derbas said his country "no longer officially receives any displaced Syrians" except those with urgent humanitarian reasons.

"We informed the UNHCR that we are no longer able to receive displaced people," he stated.

More than three million Syrians are said to have taken shelter in Leb, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq since the onset of the Syrian crisis in March 2011.

Lebanon army nabs 11 terror suspects
[Iran Press TV] Lebanese army forces have nabbed
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
11 individuals during a raid near the southern city of Sidon following the discovery of arms near the home of the country's security chief.

In a Saturday statement, the army said its unit in Mount Leb and Iqlim al-Kharroub carried out raids on several gathering locations of Syrian refugees in Bisri and Marj Bisri, arresting nine individuals for illegal residency, Leb-based Daily Star reported.

The operation was launched after the Lebanese army units found explosives near the residence of the head of General Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim.

According to the report, army troops also detained an Egyptian and another individual whose nationality was not immediately known.

All of those detained were later handed over to the Lebanese judiciary authorities.

Citing a General Security source, the news outlet further reported that the members of the security agency had discovered a huge amount of weapons, ammunition, as well as explosives in Bisri, which is close to the general's home in the area.

Bisri is located between the southern district of Jezzine and the Mount Leb region of Iqlim al-Kharroub.

The source further added that General Security forces also arrested a group of other people but refused to elaborate on the exact number.

The report also cited a Friday report by the country's National News Agency (NNA) as saying that the weapons were carefully stashed in plastic bags and scattered in three separate locations.

According to the NNA report, Lebanese security forces seized some TNT explosives, hand grenades, telecommunications devices, and other ammunition.

It added that Military Prosecutor Judge Saqr Saqr had called on the army Intelligence to conduct a probe of the case.

Kurds sharing ISIS info for US airstrikes
A Kurdish official says fighters are sharing information with the US-led coalition to coordinate strikes against ISIS militants in the Syrian border town of Kobani.

Nawaf Khalil, spokesman of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party, said Friday that coordination began last week as ISIS fighters closed in on the town that lies near the Turkish border. Kurdish fighters in Kobani mostly belong to the party's military wing.

The battlefield coordination could further complicate relations between Washington and Ankara, which views the Syrian Kurdish party with suspicion. Turkey believes the party is an extension of the Kurdish PKK, which waged a long and bloody insurgency in Turkey and is designated a terrorist group by the US and NATO.

US jets strike Kobani, ISIS shells hit Turkey
US-led coalition jets pounded suspected ISIS targets at least six times in the besieged Syrian town of Kobani on Saturday after the fiercest shelling in days by the insurgents shook the town's centre and hit border areas within Turkey.

Shelling continued after the strikes hit the centre of Kobani. Several mortars fell inside Turkey near the border gate, called Mursitpinar, according to witnesses.

ISIS militants have battled Kurdish fighters for a month to take control of Kobani and consolidate a 95km stretch of land they control along the Turkish border, but stepped-up air strikes in recent days have helped Kurds fend off the advance.

The coalition occasionally has been bombing ISIS targets in Iraq since August and extended the campaign to Syria in September after the ISIS made huge territorial gains.

Nato member Turkey is a somewhat reluctant member of the coalition, insisting it must also confront Assad to end a civil war that has killed some 200,000 civilians since March 2011.
And kill all the Kurds, of course...
On Saturday, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said US-led forces combing ISIS in Syria killed 10 civilians in two separate air strikes. But US Central Command said there was no evidence to back up the report. Its forces use mitigation measures to reduce the potential for civilian casualties, a spokesman said.

In Kobani, a commander for the YPG, the Syrian Kurdish militia defending Kobani, who would only gave her code name Dicle, said ISIS' renewed attacks were aimed at severing the town's last link with Turkey.

"They want to cut off Kobani's connection with the rest of the world," she told Reuters by telephone. "Turkey is not allowing in fighters or weapons, but they send aid at Mursitpinar. The ISIS wants to destroy this gate so that we will be completely trapped here."

Turkey has refused to rearm beleaguered Kurdish fighters, who complain they are at huge disadvantage in the face of ISIS' weaponry, many of it seized from the Iraqi military when it took the city of Mosul in June.

Turkey views the YPG with suspicion for its long-standing links with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has waged a 30-year armed campaign for self-rule in Turkey.
President Tayyip Erdogan said earlier this month the PKK was no better than the ISIS in his view.

This stance sparked outrage among Turkey's own Kurds, who make up about 20 per cent of the population. Riots in several cities earlier this month killed more than 35 people.
The Syrian Observatory said the ISIS had launched at least 21 mortar attacks on Saturday close to the border.

Abdulrahman Gok, a journalist inside Kobani, said by telephone the fighting was the worst in two days. "In the past hour, the shelling has intensified. They are firing almost one every two minutes," he said, adding that the insurgents were aiming at the east side of town towards the Mursitpinar gate.

A cloud of black smoke towered over the centre of Kobani following the latest air strike as the roar of fighter jets could be heard from a blue sky. Gunfire popped in the west and centre of town.
