#1  Hmmmmn, how would Olive Borden vote today if she were alive? Just watching some of the Fox interviews in diners in Ohio and Pennsylvania; many people, traditionally Donk (union members) are flipping for Trump. Couple of women said they are supporting Hillary because "It's time for a woman president." That sounds hollow compared to the Pub message. Suppose I said, I'm voting for Trump because he's a man. Sounds kind of silly, right? And yet there are a lot of women voters...

It's very early but it could be a landslide in the making today. I think Americans have returned to their revolutionary roots and want to have a say in the governance of their country. Look for a huge repudiation of the elitists.

Taliban commander quits peace efforts
A Taliban commander who joined the peace process in Sar-e-Pul province two months ago, returned to the insurgent group after killing five public uprising members and taking their weapons.

According to local security officials the incident happened on Sunday night.

"He had relations with the enemy. He killed five public uprising forces," said Sayed Naqib Darman, head of operations in Sar-e-Pul Police Headquarters.

According to the officials, another commander of the Taliban who joined the peace process in spring, also returned to the insurgent group and is now leading the war against security forces in Faryab province.

Meanwhile, a number of MPs from Sar-e-Pul said the issue of Taliban fighters joining the peace process and then back-tracking has happened on several occasions in the province.

Analysts have criticized intelligence and investigative organizations and said such incidents will affect government's efforts to achieve peace.

"They [Taliban members] come and return with more facilities after a short time. It can be a tactic for them to protect their group," said Jawed Kohistani, a military analyst.

Meanwhile, the defense ministry's deputy spokesman, Mohammad Radmanish, said: "Serious measures will be taken against them according to the army's capacity."

Reports indicate that a number of Taliban members have also returned to the battlegrounds after being released from prison by government.

Somalia: Huge Explosion Heard in Bakaro Market
[All Africa] A huge kaboom was heard on Monday noon in Bakaro market, the biggest marketplace in Somali capital, Mogadishu, Eyewitnesses said.

The witnesses, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, said the blast occurred after suspected Al shabaab assailants hurled a grenade bomb on Somali government soldiers in a pick-up.

In the aftermath of the attack, security forces cordoned off the scene near the bomb site, and kicked off a manhunt for the suspects, according the the eyewitnesses.

There was no immediate reports on the casualties as a result of the grenade attack in Bakaro market. Police in the area were unreachable for comments on the incident.

Fighting in Somalia's Galkayo city kills 29
[Al Jazeera] Fighting between militias in Somalia's central Galkayo city killed at least 29 people and maimed more than 50, officials from both sides said on Monday.

Colonel Mohammed Aden, a military officer from the semi-autonomous region of Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
, said 16 soldiers serving in the region's army had been killed and 30 been maimed since fighting broke out again on Sunday.

The region of Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
had 13 soldiers killed and 20 maimed, said Hirsi Yusuf Barre, the mayor of southern Galkayo.

The two regions have a history of festivities and the latest round of fighting erupted after a dispute over buildings planned in Galkayo, a city that is divided between the two sides.

But before Sunday's festivities, there had been a week-long ceasefire in place.

Galmudug and Puntland are clashing in the town, which straddles their common border and is divided under the control of rival clan militias. As violence between these groups began to escalate a month ago, schools in Galkayo were forced to close and some people fled the town.

Under terms of a ceasefire deal mediated by Dubai and which was welcomed by the two sides and Somalia's federal president, forces of both regions were supposed to be withdrawn from the disputed area this past week.

The deal also called for those who had fled Galkayo because of previous fighting to be allowed to return.

Somalia has been gripped by conflict since the downfall of Mohammed Siad Barre in early 1990s, and the armed al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
group has been one of the main causes of unrest in the past two decades.

2 Rada forces operators die in Benghazi
In the second deadly attack on Tripoli’s Rada (Deterrence) forces in just over a week, two members were shot dead on Sunday evening in a targeted attack outside a shop in the city’s central Zawiat Al-Dahmani area. According to Rada forces, Ayoub Ali Al-Buashi died instantly and Jamal Al-Shweidi died later in hospital of his injuries.

Eyewitnesses say the killers were masked and used a vehicle without number plates.

Insisting that it would not rest until the perpetrators had been hunted down, Rada also said that the killings would not stop it from tackling criminals and vandals.

On Friday 28 October, a member named only as Kamal was killed when Rada forces demolished a house in the neighbouring Fashloum district belonging to someone described as a criminal by the force.

Suggestions that the two incidents may be related have been rejected the head of Rada’s information office, Ahmed Ben Salem. Speaking on TV last night, he said he did not believe it to be the case although he indicated that Al-Buashi may have been involved in the Fashloum demolition.

There is also now a deepen divide between the Rada forces, led by Abdul Raouf Kara, and Islamist “revolutionaries” in the city, linked to grand mufti Sadek Al-Ghariani, Khalifa Ghwell, Salah Badi and a number of Benghazi hardliners such as Wisam Ben Hamid who are now based in the capital.

A number of Benghazi members of Ansar Al-Sharia and other militant forces are said to be being held by Rada. Yesterday evening’s attack comes just two days after a military rally and parade in the city’s Martyrs’ Square by a group named “The Libyan Brigades of Revolutionaries” which in a statement afterwards demanded the release of its colleague held in Tripoli. Last July Wissam Ben Hamid accused Kara and Rada of being part of a “malicious clique”. Ghariani has also accused Rada of cracking down on revolutionaries from Benghazi.

bully boys, including a high profile lieutenant- colonel.

The officer, a recipient of the Chief of Army Staff Award, for exceptional bravery and excellence, led the army units that recovered Gamboru-Ngala, Baga and several communities from the bully boys.

The Army had since the death of Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abu Ali been sulking and deeply pained.

The military saw Abu Ali as "the face of the campaign against Boko Haram which embodied commitment, loyalty, service and hope for a better, peaceful and prosperous nation".

The Army has described Lt-Col Ali as its most efficient fighter who has died after surviving deadly onslaughts and dodging bullets for years.

Abu Ali and his soldiers were ambushed by Boko Haram fighters who killed over 40 soldiers and losing 14 of their men.

But the official figure released by the military put the casualty at five, including Abu Ali.

Abu Ali was the commanding officer of 272 Tank Battalion and was reputed as the army’s bravest commander.

An official said the attack occurred at Mallam Fatori, a major Boko Haram stronghold on Friday.

Abu Ali was hit by several bullets as he and his men fought to repel the bully boys.

The Spokesman of the Military, Col Sani Usman, released conflicting details on the encounter in Malam Fatori leading to public misinformation.

Usman said on Saturday that a successful encounter in the town of Malam Fatori led to the death of several bully boys, Boko Haram operatives.

But other sources say a least 46 soldiers were killed, including the high profile officer.

As the fight against the forces of Evil gets tougher, the Army have also raised the alarm over suspected sabotage by some highly-placed elders in northeast who are aiding the bully boys.

Arabia
Coup Militias Make Up for Losses by Targeting Civilians
A sorta round up of military news from Yemen
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Taiz-Yemen’s national army forces have been able to sustain the pace of progress against coup militias in Taiz and south of Sana’a. Fierce clashes have been ongoing at each of the Hifan and Assilw districts, both located south of Yemen’s third largest city, Taiz.

The army and popular forces repelled mercenaries’ attempt to advance toward al-Dhaif Mountain in Taiz province, a military official said.

The operation took place when the coup gunmen carried out attacks in order to infiltrate toward the army and popular forces’ sites, killing dozens of the mercenaries and wounding others, as well as destroying several of their vehicles, the official added.

Army troops secured strategic advances after valiantly surmounting intense clashes accompanied with random bombardment that led to grave losses in human civilians and public property.

Ground sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that coup militants have also recorded great losses both in personnel and artillery amid the heavy fighting.

After standing great losses, Houthi militiamen stormed a school, shooting, and breaking into classes taking in four instructors and a student hostage.

At least 28 Houthi combatants and six former president Ali Abdullah Saleh loyalists were killed in the clashes as the rebel forces mount fresh attacks to control new territories in the densely populated city.

Iran-backed Houthis, who have firmly controlled the city’s outskirts for more than a year, could not advance into the city’s center despite heavy shelling and siege.

In a statement that he made to Asharq Al-Awsat, a Yemeni army source on the Hifan front said that “Yemeni army forces were able to make significant progress on the Al-Ahkoum front in Hifan … after fierce battles. This matter has made the Houthi militias and those loyal to Saleh respond by bombing villages”.

The source continued by saying that “similarly, violent confrontations took place on the rural Assilw front in the south of the city. During these confrontations, the militias tried to advance on sites belonging to the army in the Asseeratayn area. However, army forces confronted them and forced them to retreat and flee. The army and the Popular Resistance also managed to regain control of Hamdu village in the district of Assilw”.

German police arrest five in raid on 'IS network'
[BBC] Five people linked to the so-called Islamic State (IS) group have been arrested in co-ordinated raids in Germany, including a senior Islamist figure, reports say.

Flats were raided in northern and western Germany and a mosque was searched near Hanover.

Among those arrested was an Iraqi who goes by the alias Abu Walaa, or "the preacher without a face".

Germany's NDR TV has identified him as Ahmad Abdelazziz A.

The raids came as a result of information from a 22-year-old jihadist who spent several months with IS in Syria before fleeing to Turkey, it said.

Before returning to Germany in late September, the man, named Anil O, gave an interview in which he referred to Abu Walaa as "IS's number one in Germany".

All five men held are suspected of recruiting jihadists for IS and providing help for their journey to the conflict zone. They deny any link to terrorism.

The mosque in Hildesheim
Hildesheim is a picturesque small city in northern Germany, which like many small cities in Germany is losing its youth to the opportunities of the nearest bigger city. There is a small Jewish community there, mostly elderly Germans and younger Russians, but their young people are also moving to Hannover. It is my mother's hometown.
at the centre of Tuesday's police raids has been highlighted by authorities before as heavily involved in radical Salafist Islam.

Abu Walaa, who was arrested just outside Hildesheim, became known as "the preacher without a face" because of a series of internet videos in which he appeared clothed in black with his back to the camera.

Last week, police in Berlin arrested a Syrian man on suspicion of receiving instructions from IS to carry out an attack in Germany.
Update from The Times of Israel at 9:50 a.m. ET:
“The five accused formed a pan-regional Salafist-jihadist network, with the accused Ahmad Abdulaziz Abdullah A.” — a 32-year-old Iraqi — “taking on the leading role,” said a statement from the prosecutors’ office. “The aim of the network led by him is to send people to IS in Syria."

Turkish national Hasan C. and German-Serb Boban S. were allegedly tasked with teaching the recruits Arabic as well as indoctrinating them with Islamist teachings. While the group’s leader had the authority to approve and organize any departures to Syria, he allegedly left the actual implementation of the plans to the two other men detained Tuesday, German national Mahmoud O. and Cameroonian Ahmed F. Y.

At least one young man and his family had been sent by the network to join IS in Syria, prosecutors added.

The five men were arrested in the northern state of Lower Saxony and the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, German media reported.

The defendants were brought into the courtroom under the protection of riot police in body armor and helmets, as families and lawyers of the victims chanted "murderers" and demanded the state also accept responsibility.

"If the security measures used to protect the killers today were taken during the rally, the Ankara train station massacre wouldn't have taken place," said Mahmut Tanal, a member of parliament for main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP).

The defendants were among 36 suspects, some still on the lam, on trial for plotting the double suicide kaboom outside the main train station in Ankara on Oct. 10, 2015, which killed mainly young pro-Kurdish and left-wing activists at a rally.

The 35 Turks and one Kazakh face charges of murder, membership of a terrorist organization and seeking to change the constitutional order, according to the indictment. Some face multiple sentences of up to 11,750 years in prison.

"A comprehensive and effective investigation has not been carried out into the bombing. No state officials are accused of neglect in the indictment. How can we expect justice from such a trial?" lawyer Mehtap Sakinci Cosgun, whose husband was killed in the bombing, told Rooters outside the courtroom.

Turkish forces have been combating an armed campaign by Kurdish holy warriors while Kurdish political organizations have also been the subject of arrests over the last week.

One of the jacket wallahs was identified as Turkish citizen Yunus Emre Alagoz and the other as a Syrian citizen who has yet to be identified, according to the indictment seen by Rooters.

Three of the suspects on trial on Monday appeared by video link from the southern city of Gaziantep near the Syrian border, where the Islamic State cell responsible for the attack is thought to have been based.

Monday while attempting to fly to Libya, federal authorities said.

Aaron Daniels, 20, was taken into custody at John Glenn Columbus International Airport after a monthslong investigation, said U.S. Attorney Benjamin Glassman.

A criminal complaint alleges Daniels told an undercover informant about his interest in traveling overseas to commit jihad. The complaint says Daniels wired $250 in January to a Beirut intermediary for now-deceased Islamic State recruiter and attacks planner Abu Isa al-Amriki.

The complaint said at various times Daniels, who went by the aliases Harun Muhammad and Abu Yusuf, expressed interest in traveling to Afghanistan and Syria to wage war before settling on Libya. In June, Daniels told the undercover informant he wanted to go to Islamic State territory in Libya "so I could support the jihad there," according to the complaint.

Investigators acted when they saw Daniels preparing to fly to Libya via Houston and Trinidad, said Glassman.

"Any time you are providing material support in the form of money or especially as a traveler, someone who's going to go fight on behalf of ISIS is a very serious threat," Glassman said, referring to the Islamic State group by the acronym for Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant
... the current version of al-Qaeda in Iraq, just as blood-thirsty and well-beloved as the original...
Daniels made an initial appearance in federal court wearing ankle and wrist chains. He was read his rights but wasn't required to enter a plea. His court-appointed attorney declined to comment.

200 militants surrender in Balochistan
More than 200 suspected militants laid down their arms and vowed to abandon violent struggle at a ceremony held at Balochistan Chief Minister's Secretariat on Monday.

"The ferraris who laid down their weapons belonged to various Baloch separatists groups," said Balochistan government spokesperson Anwarul Haq Kakar.

Kakar, however, revealed that the suspected militants laid down their weapons under the Balochistan political reconciliation policy initiated by the present coalition government.

"More than 75 militants came from Afghanistan and laid down their arms before the officials and vowed to struggle for betterment of the country and nation," he added.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz and other high level civilian and military officials were also present on the occasion.

Zehri, while addressing the weapons laying ceremony, urged upon the exiled Baloch leaders including Hyrbiar Marri, Brahamdagh Bugti and Javed Mengal to come back and abandon their violent struggle.

"Javed Mengal come back I will receive you, Brahamdagh Bugti come back, Sarfaraz Bugti will receive you", said Nawab Zehri .

"We were Pakistanis, we are and will remain Pakistanis", Nawab Zehri added.

"Educate your children, you are now our responsibility," Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz told the suspected militants adopting peaceful lives.

"It is not a surrender, rather we all welcome you back."

Militant killed, Hizb comdr among 3 flee; 2 soldiers injured in Shopian
[Daily Excelsior] A bully boy of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed and three others, including commander of the outfit, managed to flee out of the security cordon in Shopian district of South Kashmire today.

Sources said that Shopian police and 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of army cordoned off Wangam village of South Kashmire’s Shopian district after they received specific information about presence of four Death Eaters in a house during the night.

As the security forces laid siege around the house, four Death Eaters including Hizbul Mujahideen commander Waseem Shah came out of the house opening a volley of fire at around 4 am on security forces. Two soldiers were maimed in the shootout and they were evacuated to the hospital for treatment.

The three Death Eaters including the commander fled from the cordon taking cover of the darkness and heavy firing while one of them was rubbed out outside the house by the security forces.

The dead bully boy has been identified as Saddam Hussain Mir resident of village Chitterpora in district Shopian. Sources said that he had joined the militancy a month ago. One AK-47, 5 magazines, 119 rounds and a hand grenade were recovered from his possession.

This is the second Hizbul Mujahideen bully boy who was killed in past two days in Shopian district of South Kashmire. On November 5, one bully boy of Hizbul Mujahideen, Waseem Ahmad Khanday, resident of Zarkhan village of Kellar in Shopian was killed in Dobjan forests while four of his associates fled from the security cordon under the cover of bushes.

In the meantime, SOG Pulwama and 55 RR of Army launched a joint operation in Karimabad village of Pulwama district tonight after they received inputs about presence of a group of Death Eaters in the village. However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
during the cordon the security forces came under heavy stone pelting from the residence. The operation was on till late night.

In Macchil sector of Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmire’s Kupwara district Pak troops violated ceasefire by targeting forward posts of Army early today. The troops retaliated and intermittent mortar and machine gun firing was going on.

Indian and Pak troops are trading mortar and machine gun fire in Macchil and Keran sectors of the LoC after a soldier was killed and his body was mutilated last month on October 28.

Indian troops next day targeted Pak posts in nearby Keran sector of Kupwara and destroyed four Pak posts. The tension along these two sectors of the LoC continues in North Kashmire.

Heavy shelling on LoC leaves houses damaged, cattle killed
[Daily Excelsior] Pakistain army today again resorted to heavy shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote, Mendhar and Mankote sectors in Poonch district causing extensive damage to about a dozen houses while some cattle were killed or injured. The Indian side responded to the shelling very effectively, damaging some Pak posts.

Official sources told the Excelsior that Pakistain army after shelling Krishna Ghati and Sabjian sectors of Poonch district yesterday, today started shelling with 120mm and 82mm mortars and firing with automatic and semi-automatic weapons in Mendhar, Mankote and Balakote sectors at 9.15 am.

The shelling, which had stopped yesterday at 3.30 pm, was resumed at 9.15 am today. The Indian side gave befitting response to Pakistain shelling, which continued till 1.45 pm.

Sources said about a dozen houses were damaged in Pakistain shelling, seven of them extensively and locals, who had become alert after yesterday’s shelling, had narrow escape as they had taken shelter in the houses and bunkers.

"The people were now becoming alert. As soon as the shelling starts, they rushed towards nearby houses and bunkers to save themselves. This was the reason that there was no casualty in heavy shelling by Pakistain today," sources said.

However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
some cattle were trapped in the shelling. There were reports that one cattle was killed and over a dozen others were maimed in Pakistain shelling.

The Indian side retaliated the shelling very effectively and there were reports that half a dozen Pak posts across Mendhar had been damaged extensively.

The shelling ceased at 1.45 pm.

Sources said a family of six persons had very narrow escape at Sakhi Maidaan in Mendhar when a mortar shell went kaboom! close to their house. However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
since the family was deep inside, they survived. The house was damaged.

Reports said that grass caught fire in some of the villages after mortar shell kabooms.

Both Government and private schools along the Line of Control remained closed in view of shelling. People living along the LoC also remained confined to bunkers and houses, leaving the villages mostly deserted.

Yesterday, two Army jawans were killed and five others -- two soldiers, a BSF officer, a Special Police Officer (SPO) and a woman -- were maimed as Mighty Pak Army opened fire in an attempt to facilitate two infiltration bids along the LoC in Krishna Ghati and Poonch sectors of Poonch district. The Indian troops had successfully thwarted the infiltration attempts, forcing Death Eaters to retreat to Pakistain Indian Kashmiree (PoK).

There have been over 100 ceasefire violations on Indian posts and civilian areas along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmire after the surgical strike.

The worst-ever Pak shelling targeting civil population took place on November 1 when eight persons, including two children and four women, were killed and 22 others injured along the IB and the LoC in five sectors of J&K, forcing Indian troops to give befitting reply by destroying 14 Pak posts and killing two of their troopers.

The State Government had closed over 400 schools along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region in wake of the ongoing heavy cross-border firing.

A total of 18 people, including 12 civilians, have been killed and more than 83 injured in Pak shelling and firing along IB and LoC in Jammu.

Pakistani Shia Muslims clash with police over arrests
[AA.TR] Police in Bloody Karachi

fired tear gas and launched baton charges as hundreds of protesters blocked the city’s main highway and rail line following the arrests of religious leaders amid a wave of sectarian killings, local media said.

Shia Moslem demonstrators hurled stones at police and broadcaster Geo TV reported two officers injured the festivities in an eastern district of Pakistain’s commercial hub and its largest city.

Footage aired on television showed long queues of vehicles on either side of the highway as the protesters called for the release of leaders placed in durance vile

group hard boyz have placed booby traps and boom-mobiles to prevent the soldiers from advancing, as FRANCE 24's Rob Parsons reports.

Iraqi coalition forces entered Mosul last week and have tentatively advanced into several of the city’s neighbourhoods with their progress slowed by the Islamic State group’s guerilla tactics.

FRANCE 24's chief foreign editor Robert Parsons reports from Erbil, "Up until now they have been fighting across largely open, rural territory, so the progress was much faster. Now that they are getting into Mosul and into urban areas ‐ narrow streets ‐ often fighting against Islamic State group fighters who are protected or hidden behind shields of civilians, it’s very difficult to progress at the same sort of speed that they were able to before. It’s very difficult to use the air-power advantage that the attacking forces have had hitherto."

Mosul Offensive News
Iraqi forces capture Hammam al-Alil

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Iraqi joint security forces had liberated the village of Hammam al-Alil south of Mosul, Nineveh, according to a senior commander at the security operation targeting to free the province of Islamic State fighters.

Lt.Gen Raed Shaker Jawdat, head of the federal police, told Iraq’s state TV on Sunday that, “The security forces have liberated the entire village of Hammam Al-Ali, and that stability and security have been restored to the region,” adding that, “Petroleum and other vital facilities became under security control.”

The top commander of the operation, codenamed ‘We Are Coming Nineveh”, Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Yarallah, had said earlier on Saturday that security forces entered the village and raised the Iraqi flag.

A senior Islamic State leader in Nineveh, nicknamed Abu Hamza Al-Ansari al-Jazairi , was killed in battles at the nearby villages of Erbeed and Qabr al-Abd, according to head of the Nineveh operations in the joint security forces, Maj. Gen. Najm Abdullah al-Jabouri.

Iraqi forces, assisted by popular paramilitary forces and US air forces, are proceeding with a major operation that set on mid October to liberate the city of Mosul, ISIS last stronghold in Iraq. The extremist group has reportedly sustained severe losses in lives and equipment over the past few weeks.

Apparently Hammam Al-Alil was a do over
[AlManar] Iraqi forces retook a key town from the Takfiri ISIL group Monday, a crucial objective on the southern front of the operation to wrest back the city of Mosul.

Federal police, army and elite interior ministry forces established full control over Hamam al-Alil, the last town of note on the way to Mosul from the south, AFP reporters said.

It lies on the west bank of the Tigris river, about 15 kilometers (nine miles) southeast of Mosul.

Iraqi forces have already entered Mosul from the east and were moving close to the city limits from the north on Monday but have some distance to cover on the southern front.

Life quickly resumed in Hamam al-Alil, an AFP cameraman reported, with some residents re-opening shops and other bathing in the town’s sulfur springs.

Soldiers could be seen helping some displaced civilians with their bags.

The recapture of the town clears the way for Iraqi forces to push further north and move to within striking distance of the southern neighborhoods of Mosul.

Mosul’s southern approach is home to the international airport, a vast military area and a large base that Iraqi forces were forced to flee when ISIL took over the city in June 2014.

ISIS Top Turban dies in western Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Commander of operation ‘We Are Coming, Nineveh’ announced on Sunday, that the Anti-Terrorism forces managed to kill the so-called Emir of Diwan al-Mal (Treasury) of the Islamic State extremist group, in the western coast of Mosul.

Dupty-Commander of the Joint Operations, Major General Abdel Amir Yarallah said in a press statement, “Heroes of the Anti-Terrorism Directorate managed to kill the terrorist, nicknamed Fares Abu Bakr, the ISIS Emir of Diwan al-Mal, in the western coast of the city of Mosul, after clashed in Hayy Saddam area.”

Earlier this week, Anti-Terrorism forces stationed in the eastern axis of Mosul managed to storm into the western coast of the city, and besiege the areas of al-Karama, al-Malayeen, Shoqaq al-Khadra, Hayy al-Zahraa, Karkokli, Adan and al-Zahabi.

Kurdish forces enter Daesh-held Bashiqa east of Mosul
[AA.TR] Kurdish Peshmerga forces on Monday stormed Iraq’s northern town of Bashiqa as part of an ongoing military offensive aimed at ousting ISIS faceless myrmidons from the nearby city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
According to an Anadolu Agency news hound near the scene of the fighting, Peshmerga fighters entered the town’s center early Monday -- from three directions -- and are currently attacking ISIS positions in the area.

Military experts from a U.S.-led coalition are providing support to Peshmerga forces now fighting inside the town, the news hound said.

According to Sankar Mustafa, a Peshmerga officer, Peshmerga fighters inside Bashiqa managed to kill five ISIS suicide car-bombers who had tried to impede their progress as they advanced on the town center.

"Peshmerga forces now surround Bashiqa’s outskirts and are besieging the town from all sides," Mustafa told Anadolu Agency.

"We also now control the main road linking Bashiqa to Mosul," he said.

The majority-Ezidi town of Bashiqa lies some 12 kilometers (roughly 8 miles) to the northeast of Mosul, the regional capital of Iraq’s northern Nineveh province.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has a longstanding military training mission at the nearby Camp Bashiqa, where Turkish soldiers have trained both Peshmerga fighters and local tribal volunteers in combat techniques.

In recent months, the mission’s presence in northern Iraq has led to a degree of tension between Baghdad and Ankara amid calls by some Iraqi politicians for Turkish troops to withdraw from the area.

Last month, the Iraqi army -- backed by U.S.-led coalition Arclight airstrikes -- launched a wide-ranging operation aimed at retaking Mosul, ISIS’s last bastion in northern Iraq.

In mid-2014, ISIS captured Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city, before overrunning vast swathes of territory in the country’s north and west.

Recent months have seen the Iraqi army, backed by local allies on the ground and the U.S.-led air coalition, retake much territory, especially on Mosul’s outskirts and in the western Anbar province.

More from Iraqi News:
(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh- Kurdish Peshmerga militias began an offensive on the city of Bashiqa, Nineveh, on Monday after besieging it for days, Alsumaria News reported on Monday.

“Peshmerga forces launched an attack on the dawn of Monday to retake Bashiqa, east of Mosul after besieging the city for several days,” according to Alsumaria News.

Coinciding with the Peshmerga offensive, aircraft from the US-led coalition forces launched a “violent” attack on the city, Alsumaria explained.

Bashiqa has been a highly contentious issue between the Iraqi and Turkish government as Ankara had deployed troops there to train locals fighting Islamic State militants, a situation which Baghdad said violated its sovereignty and occurred without authorization.

Eyes are now on Mosul, another city in Nineveh and the last major ISIS stronghold in Iraq, where Iraqi government forces and allied al-Hashd al-Shaabi militias have been waging a relentless campaign to retake the city from the extremist group.

More again from Iraqi News:
(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Kurdish Peshmerga forces managed to fully control the area of Bashiqa, east of Mosul, Alsumaria reported on Monday.

Alsumaria News stated, “Kurdish Peshmerga forces managed to fully recapture the city of Bashiqa from the grip of the Islamic State extremist group,” adding that, “Peshmerga forces are now stationed in all neighborhoods of Bashiqa.”

“The Kurdish forces are now preparing to conduct a number of search operations in different areas of the city of Bashiqa,” Alsumaria added.

Earlier today, Peshmerga forces launched an attack to retake Bashiqa, east of Mosul after besieging the city for several days.

Mass grave found near Daesh-held Mosul
[AA.TR] A mass grave has been found in an area south of the ISIS-held city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, a top Iraqi security official said on Monday.

"The grave, located in the district of Hamam al-Alil, contains the remains of 100 people, including civilians, who were killed months ago by ISIS terrorists," said Brig. Gen. Ali al-Lami in a statement read out by Iraqi state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
"Some of the bodies were decapitated," he added.

Al-Lami also said, "The remains belong to civilians who refused to collaborate with the ISIS terrorist group, including members of the Iraqi security forces."

On Saturday the army announced the recapture of Hammam al-Alil, one of ISIS’s last strongholds south of Mosul, soon after storming it.

On Oct. 18, the Iraqi army, backed by U.S.-led coalition Arclight airstrikes, launched a wide-ranging operation aimed at retaking Mosul, which ISIS overran ‐ along with additional territory in northern and western Iraq ‐ in mid-2014.

Recent months have seen the Iraqi army retake much territory, especially on the outskirts of Mosul ‐ the regional capital of Iraq’s northern Nineveh province ‐ and in the western province of Anbar.

on Monday, clearing a pocket of faceless myrmidons outside the city while Iraqi troops wage a fierce urban war with the jihadists in its eastern neighborhoods.

As the operation against Islamic State's Iraqi stronghold entered its fourth week, fighters across the border launched an offensive in the Syrian half of the jihadist group's self-declared caliphate, targeting its base in the city of Raqqa.

An alliance of U.S.-backed Kurdish and Arab groups launched the campaign for Raqqa, where Islamic State has been dug in for nearly three years, with an assault on territory about 50 km (30 miles) to the north which they have dubbed Euphrates Anger.

The battle for Raqqa will be every bit as challenging as the one for Mosul, with both cities carrying huge strategic and symbolic value to the jihadists and their self-declared caliphate covering territory in both Syria and Iraq.

The Iraqi operation, involving a 100,000-strong alliance of troops, security forces, Kurdish peshmerga and Shi'ite militias, backed by U.S.-led air strikes and a global consensus against the jihadis, has so far gained just a small foothold in Mosul.

The Raqqa campaign, launched amid a complex civil war in Syria which has divided world powers, is not coordinated with Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Scourge of Qusayr...
or the Syrian army. The Kurdish element of SDF groups fighting toward Raqqa also makes them an unlikely force to recapture the Arab city.

Abu Sayyaf seizes German sailor, kills companion
[PhilStar] The Abu Sayyaf claimed to have seized a German sailor and killed his female compatriot aboard a private yacht off Tawi-Tawi.

Abu Sayyaf sub-leader Muamar Askali, alias Abu Rami, the self-styled spokesman of the terrorist group, claimed that they are holding as captive 70-year-old Juegen Kantner. He said Kantner's female companion Sabina Wetch was gunned down when she fought back.

Askali claimed that they intercepted the victims' yacht as it was cruising in the vicinity of Tanjong Luuk Pisuk, Sabah.

Military spokesman Filemon Tan Jr. confirmed that civilian residents discovered a corpse aboard a sky blue yacht bearing a German flag in the vicinity of Laparan Island, Pangutaran town, Sulu early Sunday morning.

ISIS preps VBIEDs as coalition forces approach
[AlArabiya] ISIS militants have set off five car bombs targeting US-backed Syrian armed groups attacking Raqqa, a source said on Monday, saying the fight to drive ISIS from its stronghold city would “not be easy.”

The operation by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), including the Kurdish YPG militia, that began on Saturday aims to encircle and ultimately capture Raqqa, adding to the pressure on ISIS as it faces a major assault in Iraq.

ISIS has also drawn heavily on suicide car bombs in its efforts to fend off the assault on Mosul by Iraqi forces.

The attack so far appears focused on areas north of Raqqa near the town of Ain Issa, 50 km (30 miles) away. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an organization that reports on the war, said the SDF forces had so far captured a number of ISIS positions, but there had been “no real progress.”

The Kurdish source said a number of villages had been captured. “Daesh is resorting to attacks with car bombs to a great degree,” the source said.

The SDF has been the main partner on the ground in Syria for the US-led coalition against ISIS, capturing swathes of northern Syria with coalition air support.

Planning for the Raqqa assault has been complicated by factors including the concerns of neighboring Turkey, which does not want to see any further expansion of Kurdish influence in northern Syria.

Additionally, Raqqa is a predominantly Arab city, and Syrian Kurdish officials have previously said it should be freed from ISIS by Syrian Arab groups, not the Kurdish YPG.

Syrian regulars capture key points in Aleppo
[Al-Manar] Syrian infantry and artillery army units, backed by air force, on Monday continued to advance in different areas across the country, seizing control over a number of areas and inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorist groups in the arms and personnel.

In Aleppo, a military source announced that the army restored Al-Rakhem Hill to the west of the military academies in the western countryside of Aleppo after destroying the last fortification of Jaish al-Fateh terrorists.

The source told SANA that army units, in cooperation with the supporting forces and the allies, over the past few hours carried out special operations in the western countryside of Aleppo, establishing control over Talet al-Rakhem to the west of the military academies.

The source added that a number of terrorists were killed in the operations, mostly from al-Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham and Nour al-Din al-Zenki terrorist groups and their arms and equipment were destroyed.

In Homs, the Syrian air force carried out concentrated strikes against a position of Al-Nusra Front terrorist organization in the northwestern countryside of Homs province.

A military source said that more than 30 terrorists were either killed or injured after destroying their position in Aqrab village in al-Houla plain to the northwest of Homs city.

Later, the source said an army unit killed a number of the leaders of terrorist groups affiliated to Al-Nusra Frontin al-Za’farana village in the northern countryside of Homs.

In Raqqa city and countryside, four people were killed and others injured after an international coalition airstrike targeted Al-Safsaf neighborhood in the city.

Turks launch new offensive against Kurds in Hasakah
[ARA News] Derik – Turkey’s military on Monday bombed headquarters of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Syria’s northeastern Hasakah Governorate, military sources and activists reported.

The Turkish army hit YPG positions in the Ain Diwar village in Derik District, east of Hasakah.

“Turkish forces targeted the YPG units in Ain Diwar with artillery fire,” a Kurdish officer told ARA News. “Today Rojava has witnessed a new violation by the Erdogan government.”

“The AKP [ruling Justice and Development Party in Turkey] and its allies try to hit the Kurdish forces in Syria in support of ISIS terrorists,” he said.

The YPG leadership said the Turkish bombardment on Ain Diwar continued for one hour, adding they responded to the offensive.

“Our forces responded to the attack by launching several shells, targeting the source of the fire. Only then the Turkish offensive stopped.”

Scores of YPG fighters were wounded in the bombardment, and a massive material damage was reported due to the attack.

This is not the first time Turkey has targeted Syrian Kurds. According to military sources, the Turkish Army has launched more than 22 attacks on Kurdish positions in northern Syria.

The YPG said that Turkey is targeting Kurdish areas in northern Syria “to undermine the Kurdish progress against ISIS.”

“We’ll not allow Turkey to continue those violations at the border. We are ready to respond and we’ll do whatever it takes in order to stop this offensive against our people,” the YPG leadership said in an earlier statement.

Syrian rebel capture 11 villages near Raqqa
[ARA News] Raqqa – Since the launch of the Euphrates Wrath Operation on Sunday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have captured 11 villages in an area measuring approximately 15 km². The campaign’s ultimate goal is the isolation and capture of Raqqa city.

SDF soldiers on Monday also besieged Haysha town, about 40 km north of Raqqa city. Dozens of Islamic State (ISIS) militants have reportedly been killed in a protracted bombardment.

The SDF General Command told ARA News that ISIS has retreated from major parts of Raqqa’s northern countryside. Rather than trying to stand their ground, the extremist group is now relying on mines, car bombs and suicide squads. The SDF reportedly destroyed six car bombs on Monday, before they could reach their targets.

The multi-ethnic alliance has reminded civilians to be cautious as ISIS jihadists have a long history of using human shields. “We also call on our people in Raqqa to stay away from ISIS headquarters, which will be [targeted by] the SDF and the coalition. We appeal to the civilians to head to secure locations and to support our operation,” the SDF said.

The Islamic State’s current strategy appears to be aimed at impeding the SDF’s progress towards the city of Raqqa, through mass casualty attacks and guerrilla-style raids. Raqqa is a de facto capital of the self-declared Caliphate.

Noteworthy SDF factions participating in the Euphrates Wrath Operation include Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), Syriac Military Council, Raqqa Revolutionaries Battalion and Tel Abyad Revolutionary Brigade. These ground forces are being bolstered by the US-led coalition, which is providing air support and advice from US military experts.

The SDF established on Sunday a new operations room to harmonize the allied forces participating in the battle for Raqqa. “On November 5, the SDF established a new operations room known as the Euphrates Wrath to enhance coordination between the various military factions participating in the battle,” the SDF said in a statement.

“This operation will be proceeded strictly till its goal is met, isolating the capital of world terror, then bringing it down,” the SDF continued “We will be victorious in this decisive battle like we were in Kobane, Tel Abyad, al-Hasakah, al-Hawl, al-Shaddadi and Manbij.”

Families return to liberated areas in Nineveh

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Displaced families are returning to liberated areas of Nineveh, jubilant with the existence of security forces who gave out food and medicine to the citizens.

Kurds destroy Arab homes in Kirkuk

(Iraqinews.com) Kirkuk – Kurdish authorities in Kirkuk are undertaking series of demolitions of Arab-owned homes in the northern Iraq province, supposedly in retaliation for an attack by Islamic State militants last month, according to Amnesty International.

“In the aftermath of a surprise ISIS attack on eight different locations across Kirkuk on 21 October, many residents say they were ordered to leave the area and had their identity cards confiscated,” said the organization.

“Among those affected are an estimated 250 families who had previously been displaced from other areas of Iraq and had sought safety and shelter in Kirkuk…At least 190 families were also forcibly displaced by Kurdish Peshmerga and Asayish forces from the Qotan and Qoshkaya villages in the Dibs district of Kirkuk Province,” The organization added.

It quoted some citizens as saying that Kurds blamed them for bringing ISIS fighters to the province and sheltering them in their homes.

The organization said the practice is a violation of international laws that dictate that displaced people should not be returned home except voluntarily.

“The authorities in Kirkuk are undeniably facing a serious security threat, but that cannot justify bulldozing people’s homes and forcibly displacing hundreds of Arab residents,” the organizations explained. “Forcibly evicting and displacing Sunni Arab residents of Kirkuk is unlawful and cruel,” Amnesty International added.

ISIS Golden Throat's demise ends newspaper

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh-The self-proclaimed Islamic State has announced the killing of its most outstanding propaganda moviemaker, while the group also ceased its paper propaganda in the city of Mosul, Alsumaria News reported on Monday.

Alsumaria News stated, “ISIS media outlets have announced the killing of Shehata al-Masry, the group’s moviemaker, in an airstrike on a main road near al-Baaj, west of Mosul, along with two of his aides,” adding that, “Though Al-Masry was not well-known before, he seemed to have been an important personality working in the shadow.”

ISIS is known to have recruited several people with expertise from around the world to tap into their experience in its psychological war. The group has relied on films and video clips adopting the style of American thriller movies to deliver its messages.

The group has also ceased its paper propaganda in the city of Mosul, Nineveh, in an apparent sign of the group’s diminishing presence there resulting from defeats to Iraq security forces.

Alsumaria News also revealed on Monday that the group had halted its paper propaganda completely, pointing out almost certain information about ISIS transferred some of its largest printing presses out of the city.

“Propaganda issues for ISIS, which included a magazine and other weekly or monthly leaflets ceased to issue completely,” said Alsumaria.

“That paper propaganda was one of the tools ISIS relied upon to deliver their messages to the people of Mosul over the past months, having tackled several issues including the group’s decisions over several issues,” Alsumaria added.

The revelation comes as Iraqi government forces, al-Hashd al-Shaabi militia and US-led airstrikes continue to push with a weeks-old operation to liberate Mosul, ISIS last stronghold in Iraq. The operation has reportedly forced the group’s fighters to smuggle their families out of the city along with valuable possessions.

Noteworthy, ISIS most outstanding issue is Dabiq, a magazine in English and Arabic, both in a paper and online 50-page edition.

26K refugees appear at refugee camps

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh -The Iraqi Red Crescent Society said Monday it had distributed more than 26000 refugees coming from different parts of Nineveh to refugee camps in the province.

The refugees are escaping decisive battles between Islamic State militants and Iraqi joint forces seeking to liberate the province from the extremist group’s hold.

“The refugees have been distributed among the camps of Khazir, Hassan Sham, Jadaa and Zleikan,” the organization said on its website.

“IRCS teams deployed at the camps have ratcheted up their relief efforts to shelter the refugees, distributing more than 26000 meals made at kitchens the society had set up in refugee areas,” the statement said. It added that first aid and hospital care was also offered to the refugees, besides psychological assistance to all age groups.

The organization said it expects the number of refugees to increase further over the following days.

The United Nations had estimated the number of refugees expected to flee battles in Nineveh’s mosul to reach one million people.

ISIS has been sustaining severe losses in Mosul, its last stronghold in Iraq, since operations began in mid October.

ISIS pays $400 to family of suicide bomber
I feel sorry for the guy who didn't qualify for the job
(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Militants of the Islamic State extremist group visited a family and grant them 400 US dollars as a reward, after their son blew up himself in the city of Qayyarah, near Mosul, while the suicide bomber’s mother said that the group deceived her son via religious speeches, Rudaw reported on Monday.

The suicide bomber, Abdel Baqi Mohamed, is from al-Fadiliyah village in Bashiqa area. He blew up himself targeting the security forces in Qayyarah area, and then the extremist group’s militants delivered his suicide documents to his family, Rudaw added.

Abdel Baqi’s mother said that her son was working at the Industrial Zone in Mosul before the work stop there, and his friend joined the ISIS one year ago. She added that the group deceived her son religious speeches at mosques, then took him to Mosul and prepare him for four months.

The mother also said that she doesn’t know where her son was buried, and after few days of his death an ISIS Emir visited them and gave them a letter and 400 US dollars as a reward.

“In order to make the family believe that Abdel Baqi was killed, the ISIS Emir gave them a video showing Abdel Baqi standing in front of a vehicle and say that he is going to heaven,” Rudaw stated.

ISIS shuts down internet cafes, rounds up Kurd suspects

[ARA News] Idlib – The radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) has shut down several internet cafes in Syria’s northeastern Raqqa city. The group has also confiscated dozens of private satellite devices, local sources reported on Monday.

“They [ISIS militants] stormed internet cafes and civilian houses in a bid to shut down the internet network in Raqqa,” a local media activists told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“Most of the internet cafes in Raqqa city were shut down,” the source reported.

This comes just one day after the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched the so-called Euphrates Wrath Operation, a military campaign aimed at liberating Raqqa from ISIS. The US-backed SDF on Monday seized control of 11 villages north of Raqqa, in an effort to isolate ISIS inside the city.

The operation caused a state of alert in ISIS ranks. The group’s attempt to shut down the internet comes amid fears that local informers have been leaking security information about ISIS movements in Raqqa to the SDF and the US-led coalition.

“The Islamic State has tightened security measures inside and around Raqqa city. Nobody is allowed to leave the city under any circumstances,” rights activist Kamal Hamdawi told ARA News.

Also on Monday, ISIS militants stormed the houses of Kurdish families in Raqqa city, and arrested a number of civilians on charges of supporting the SDF, eyewitnesses reported.

ISIS sleeper cells activated throughout Iraq
AKA Stay behind parties
[AAWSAT] Baghdad – Many of ISIS’ sleeper cells have risen in retaliation to the losses in Mosul and other areas.

Two days after the Iraqi Ministry of Interior thwarted an ISIS attack, ISIS responded with a series of booby-trapped cars and terrorists attacks in Baghdad, Tikrit, Samara, and al-Sherqat which killed a number of pilgrims including Iranians who were on their way the shrines in Samara.

Saladin governor Ahmed al-Jubouri blamed security authorities for the incidents in Tikrit and Samara, Saladin tribe council spokesperson Marwan Jebara said that lack of coordination between the security forces made it easy to penetrate and cause blasts certain areas.

At least 15 people were killed in twin suicide attacks, and 33 injured in Shisheen valley, south of Tikrit. While in Samara, security forces imposed a curfew after a blast killed and injured over 24 persons included 10 Iranians.

Isis has claimed responsibility for the attacks in retaliation for their loss of territory in the north of the country.

Jebara said that this is a double-message from ISIS to its fighters and to Iraq. He elaborated that the terrorist organization wants to prove to everyone that it is still here and capable of bombing any area.

He explained that Samara is special for ISIS because it is the hometown of its leader Abu Baqer al-Baghdadi, and by attacking there, the organization encouraged its fighters and delivered a message that it can attack areas close to the shrines in Samara especially that Arbaeen pilgrimage is near.

According to Jebara, the bombs were attributed to lack of coordination between security forces and the different types and numbers of forces.

Governor Joubouri stated that the attacks are a reaction to ISIS’ losses in the area and due to multiple forces.

In Baghdad, an army force was able to kill a terrorist driving a car before he detonated it among pilgrims in Baghdad.

Security expert Hashim al-Hasihimi told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper that ISIS is not centralized, and each governorate follows its own plans without directives from the headquarters of the organization.

Hashimi added Kirkuk attacks were executed by a number of fighters from outside of Kirkuk in collaboration with sleeper cells in the city.
