Explosives Seized Near Iran Border in Herat
[Tolo News] Police has seized some explosives in the western Herat province, Herat border police said on Saturday

The explosives that include 52 missiles were seized in the province's Kakari area of Kohsan district, the Acting Chief of Herat Border Police, Hamidullah, told TOLOnews news hound.

Herat border police said that the explosives are modern and unused and according to initial investigations, the explosives are made in China and have been probably brought to Afghanistan recently.

Meanwhile,
...back at the ranch...
the Police Chief of the western Farah province, Faqir Askar, said police has jugged an Iranian who had come to the province to conduct insurgency attacks.

Mr Askar said the man is a resident of Iran's Kerman city and had confessed that he had entered the province with a suicide waste coat.

"The first day the man was not speaking at all. After we forced him to talk, he told us that his name was Saeed and he is a resident of Kerman and has come to Afghanistan to take part in jihad," the Police Chief of Herat, Mohammad Faqir Askar, told TOLOnews.

Afghan and foreign officials had previously said that Iran's government was supporting the bad boys, a claim repeatedly denied by Iranian authorities.

Motorbike Bomb Kills 10 in Northern Kunduz Province
[Tolo News] At least 10 people including a village police commander with his bodyguard were killed and 18 other civilians were hurt in an kaboom in Kunduz province on Saturday, officials say.

Confirming the incident, District Chief of Imam Sahib, Mohammad Ayub Haqyar said that the blast occured at around 10:30 am in the district centre. Children and women were also among the maimed, he said.

It said that the bomb was attached to a cycle of violence, adding that Manan, a village police commander, was the target of the attack.

Northern Kunduz has been the scene of Taliban's fierce activities and bully boyz often target government compounds in the province.

But with the launch of a series of offensives in the north, it seems the Taliban's momentum is reversed in most parts of that region.

Kenyan navy kills 3 suspected pirates
[Iran Press TV] The Kenyan defense ministry front man says three suspected Somali pirates have been killed following a skirmish with Kenyan naval forces off the coastal town of Kilifi.

Three men were shot and a fourth drowned after they ambushed a naval patrol inside Kenya's territorial waters at around 11:30 p.m. (2030 GMT) on Friday, Bogita Ongeri said on Saturday.

Ongeri told AFP that the attack took place some 60 kilometers (40 miles) north of the country's main port of Mombasa.

"The government will not relent in its fight against piracy," Ongeri said.

Earlier on Saturday, Chinese media said a gang of pirates had hijacked a Panamanian-registered ship, the Yuan Xiang, with 29 Chinese sailors onboard in the Arabian Sea. The owner of the vessel, the Ningbo Hongyuan Ship Management Co. Ltd., was informed by the pirates that the ship had change course to sail toward Somalia, the report added.

In another development, pirates holding a British couple for over a year claimed they had received a ransom of 1 million dollars and would release Paul and Rachel Chandler on Sunday.

Al-Qaeda Claims Responsibility for September 13 LNG Attack in Video Tape
[Yemen Post] On nearly 31-minute long video tape, posted on the Jihadist Websites on Friday, a group fighters of the Yemen-based Al-Qaeda grabbed credit for September 13 bomb attack of a pipeline transferring liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Yemeni Marib province to Shabwa province in the south of the country.

The company later confirmed in a statement that its key pipeline was damaged in Shabwa province on September 13.

The September 13's kaboom caused huge fire and smoke as the pipeline was badly damaged, cutting off the LNG supply, some rustics in the area told the Yemen Post.

Jihadist websites, broadcast about 31-minutes of the tape, analysts said the website aired what was newsworthy and relevant and declined the included threats Al-Qaeda always aired.

Tribal leaders are refusing to hand over Al-Qaeda operatives something they say handing over local Al-Qaeda operatives and their spiritual leader, Anwar Al-Awlaki, would be an offence the tribal norms.

Sheikhs of Yemen's most important tribes criticize what Al-Qaeda are doing, but say once they find some one from Al-Qaeda he neither deserve liberty nor security.

'Suicide' blast at AL lawmaker's house
[Bangla Daily Star] Three people were killed and two others were maimed in a "suicide" bomb attack inside the house of Awami League politician Afaz Uddin Ahmed at Taragunia in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia last night.

The ruling party politician from Kushtia-1 constituency survived the attack with minor injuries.

The deceased are identified as Asmat Ali, acting headmaster of Taragunia High School, Jubo League
... the youth wing of the Bangla Awami League...
activist Siddique, son of Bhaddar Ali of Taragunia, and the unnamed bomber.

The AL politician said two bombs went off around 8:15pm soon after two unknown visitors entered his living room when he was talking to some high school teachers of his upazila.

One attacker blew himself up killing two people while another attacker decamped, he told The Daily Star last night.

Asmat, who was sitting on the right of the politician, was killed on the spot while Siddique succumbed to his wounds on his way to Kushtia General Hospital.

"I saw the two unknown youths stand up when I was talking to the teachers. Within a second, one of them blasted one of the bombs he had wrapped around his belly. The youth keeled over dead," said Afaz Uddin.

"The attack might have been carried out to kill me," he said, adding that Islamic fascisti might have involvement in this.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Mostafa Kamal said law enforcers had cordoned off the area. Police are investigating the incident, he added.

Police and Rab sources said they believe there were more attackers near the politicians' house to carry out a well-planned attack.

Meanwhile,
...back at the ranch...
Awami League said the BNP-Jamaat men might have had a hand in the attack since the incident happened right after BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia left her cantonment residence.

Caribbean-Latin America
Mexican police hunt preteen hitman
[Al Jazeera] A gang of teenagers employed as "hitmen" are suspected of being responsible for dozens of killings, Mexican police said.

Police detained a minor on Friday accused of working as a gunman for a drug cartel after shocking videos and photos were posted online by a rival gang, and local media reported that police were also seeking a 12-year-old hitman nicknamed "El Ponchis," (the cloak) but there was no confirmation of that from prosecutors.

Pedro Luis Benitez, the attorney general of Morelos, told a local radio station that police had detained a minor who allegedly worked as a gunman for a drug cartel and were looking for another.

He did not say whether the minor who was detained or the one being sought had appeared in the online photos or video. He also did not give the age of the suspects, but he implied they were young enough to be playing with toys.

"It is easy for them (criminals) to give them a firearm, making it appear as it if were a plastic weapon and that it is a game, when in fact it is not," Benitez said.

There are reports that El Ponchis is a sadistic killer whose preferred method of killing is to slit the throats of his victims. He is believed to be employed by South Pacific Cartel, operating in the state of Morelos, just outside Mexico City.

Young and dangerous
The material posted online shows boys believed to be as young as 12 years old, pose for the camera with guns and corpses.

One video, briefly posted on YouTube, showed a youth, apparently in his teens, confessing to working for a branch of the Beltran Leyva cartel. While the authenticity of the video could not be determined, cartels in Mexico frequently post such interrogation videos to expose their rivals' crimes.

One youth is recorded telling an unseen questioner that his gang was paid $3000 per killing.

"When we don't find the rivals, we kill innocent people, maybe a construction worker or a taxi driver," the youth says in the video.

Felipe Calderon, the Mexican president, who launched the offensive against cartels in 2006, acknowledged several months ago that "in the most violent areas of the country, there is an unending recruitment of young people without hope, without opportunities".

Suspects under 18 are prosecuted in a separate legal system for young offenders for most crime in Mexico. But there are growing calls for that system, and the nation's overcrowded adult prisons, to be revamped.

Rampant violence
Mexico has more than doubled the number of people in federal prisons in the last two years as part of the country's crackdown on drug cartels, a security official said on Friday. While the federal prison system had about 4,500 inmates in 2008, there are now 11,000.

"Where more disorder exists, there will be more violence," Genaro Garcia Luna, the secretary for public safety, said. "The penitentiaries can be places where not only do people complete their punishments, but where future delinquent conduct is prevented".

He cited one prison in particular, Islas Marias, which has seen its inmate population quadruple since 2006. Located off the coast of Sinaloa state, the prison now houses 3,946 inmates.

"We are trying to abate the deficit of space and modernise our prison system," he said.

More than 28,000 Mexicans have been killed since late 2006 in drug-related violence, and 2010 is on track to be the bloodiest so far.

Mexican Security Forces on High Alert Following Email Warning
Google Translate
An email widely circulated is warning about the possibility of multiple shootings in the Mexican state of Morelos, say Mexican news reports.

The Morelos state Secretarina de Seguridad Publica (SSP) in conjunction with the Mexican Secretaria de Defensa (SEDENA) and Federal Preventive Police announced Friday a security operation dubbed Operacion Otoño 2010 beginning in November and ending January 6th, 2011, begun in the wake of a widely distributed email threatening violence on November 29th.

The South Pacific cartel is credited with the threats saying they want to clear this central Mexican state of its rivals. The email warns readers to stay out of bars, restaurants and public places on November 29th, when shootings are to begin. The email's subject uses the Spanish phrase for a curfew, toque de queda.

French charge 4 suspected in terror training
[Arab News] A judicial official says that four men suspected of belonging to a network sending French residents to the tribal zones of the Pakistain-Afghanistan border to train for combat have been charged.

A woman who was nabbed with them has been released.

The official said on Saturday that the men, aged 25 to 30, have been charged with "criminal association linked to a terrorist enterprise." The official said the four are also suspected of plotting to kill the head of the Grand Mosque of Gay Paree, Dalil Boubakeur -- but there wasn't enough evidence to justify charges. The official, not authorized to discuss cases publicly, demanded anonymity.

Two of the suspects were nabbed Monday after disembarking from a flight from Egypt. The others were picked up Tuesday in Gay Paree.

Germany lifts passenger flight ban from Yemen
BERLIN - Germany has lifted a suspension of passenger flights from Yemen but left in place a ban on air cargo imposed after bombs were found in packages sent from there two weeks ago, the transport ministry said on Saturday.

The discovery of suspected Al Qaeda parcel bombs at the end of last month prompted governments, airlines and aviation authorities around the world to review their security. Packages intercepted in Britain and Dubai contained bombs sent from Yemen and addressed to synagogues in Chicago. One, found on a United Parcel Service cargo plane at East Midlands Airport in Britain, had been trans-shipped at Cologne Bonn airport in Germany.

A transport ministry spokeswoman said passenger planes had been given permission to fly from Yemen to Germany as of 1300 GMT on Friday. Cargo flights and the transport of cargo on passenger flights are still banned.

The decision to lift the ban on passenger flights followed a new security report from Germany’s interior ministry, which sent German police to Yemen to investigate security at airports, the website ‘Spiegel Online’ reported.

Dronezap waxes five in North Wazoo
A suspected US missile strike hit a Taliban stronghold near the Afghan border on Saturday, killing five alleged forces of Evil as they were travelling in a vehicle and at least three of the dead were believed to be foreigners, intelligence and government officials said. The attack was the seventh this month and underscored America's increasing reliance on drone-fired missiles to take out targets it deems a danger to the war effort in Afghanistan. So far this year, nearly 100 such strikes have occurred in Pakistain, which is a major surge over previous years. The three missiles on Saturday struck their target just outside Miranshah, the main town in North Wazoo. Two local government officials confirmed the strike.

#1  Is this the same attack?
Per Roggio:
US Predator strike aircraft fired missiles at a compound and a vehicle in Pakistan's Taliban-controlled tribal agency of North Waziristan today, possibly killing four civilians.

Unmanned Predators or the heavily armed and deadly Reapers fired a pair of missiles at compound and a vehicle in the village of Ahmad Khel in the Mir Ali area in North Waziristan.

Pakistani intelligence officials claimed that four "militants" were killed, but a Geo News reporter on the scene of the attack said that those killed "seemed to be ordinary citizens, not terrorists."

If the Geo reporter is right then the Pakistan authorities are trying to give cover. They will back off and holler now though. Alternative - Geo reporter may be falsely reporting on orders of AQ in order to cause us to back off.

Thai terrorists murder teen defense volunteer at school
An teenaged village defense volunteer was gunned down after being kidnapped at a school in Yala province.

Isma-ae Salaeh was one of six defense volunteers captured by a group of armed terrorists militants while patrolling a school on Friday. Police said the men, all dressed in military-like uniforms, were hiding at the school before they captured the defense volunteers.

Maporsi Zabu, one of the captured volunteers who was not harmed, said he saw a group of around 10 armed men when he arrived at the school. He said he didn't know that five other volunteers had already been detained. Three armed men then grabbed him, tied him up and made him lie face down away from the school building. Shortly afterwards, he heard a couple of gunshots and men scurrying away. When he was freed he found there were other village defense volunteers at the school including Isma-ae, who was lying in a pool of blood.

The terrorists also took two guns from the volunteers.

Deputy governor Nattapong Sirichana paid a visit to the family of Isma-ae, who was the son of a local Muslim leader.

In Narathiwat province, a 49-year-old man was shot and killed by an terrorist attacker on a motorcycle while on his way to work.

Adul Esaw was riding a motorcycle to his job in Malaysia when the attack took place yesterday. Police said they suspect it was more terrorism related to the region's violent insurgency.

Bakri arrested by Leb cops
Lebanese police have arrested radical Islamic preacher Omar Bakri Mohammad just days after he boasted he would "not spend one day" of a life sentence behind bars. A security official said intelligence agents seized the cleric near his home in the northern city of Tripoli.

A Lebanese military court had previously ruled the 50-year-old should be jailed over terrorism offences.

Sky's home affairs correspondent Mark White said Mohammad was stopped by security forces that had been following a vehicle he was travelling in. White said: "Omar Bakri Mohammad was pulled from the car at gunpoint."
