Security Tight after Deadly Bombing in Yemen Capital
[Yemen Post] Yemeni security forces were deployed to the streets of the capital Sanaa to prevent possible terrorist attacks against foreign targets, hours after a jacket wallah killed ten police cadets and injured about20 others.

The Al-Qaeda bomber went kaboom!" at the police academy while tens of cadets were coming out and the authorities identified the bomber who died in hospital several hours after the operation.

The bombing was the second in the recent two months after the deadliest attack on a military parade rehearsal in May, which killed more than one hundred security forces and injured three hundred others.

The forces were inspecting cars, cycle of violences and some persons in main streets and blocks coinciding with orders to tight security around key local and foreign offices and residences including those of foreign diplomats in Sanaa.

The interior ministry said the move was aimed at placing the security authorities on high alert to face possible terrorist attacks after Al-Qaeda vowed to take warfare with the government into the capital.

Protecting the foreign embassies and the residences of foreign diplomats is a top priority at the moment, it said.

The Yemeni army drove Al-Qaeda faceless myrmidons out of their strongholds in the south after a US-backed offensive in the past few months. Hundreds of faceless myrmidons including big shots were killed and cooled for a few years

In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...

Militants take villagers hostage in Bajaur
[Dawn] Dozens of snuffies coming from Afghanistan took scores of villagers hostage in Pakistain's northwest Thursday, sparking fighting that killed at least 10 people, Pak officials said.

The snuffies who staged the cross-border attack appeared to be targeting members of an anti-Taliban militia in Katkot village near Pakistain's Bajaur tribal area, said Tariq Khan, a local government official.

Pakistain has railed against Afghan and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
forces for not doing enough to stop Afghanistan-based snuffies from launching cross-border attacks, but has received little sympathy. The US and Afghan governments, on the other hand, have long complained that Pakistain allows sanctuary to snuffies fighting in Afghanistan.

The snuffies who attacked Thursday came from Afghanistan's Kunar province
... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country.....
and took hundreds of villagers hostage, including anti-Taliban militiamen, said Khan.

The Mighty Pak Army surrounded the village and killed eight krazed killers, prompting the faceless myrmidons to retaliate by shooting to death two militiamen, he added.

Soldiers have retrieved scores of villagers, but dozens more are still held by the snuffies or trapped in their homes by the fighting, said Khan and two security officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

The army called in gunship helicopters for support but have not used them yet for fear of civilian casualties, said Khan.

The information could not be independently verified because the area is largely off-limits to news hounds.

The leader of the Taliban in Swat, Maulana Fazlullah, escaped and is believed to be based in eastern Afghanistan, where he has been sending fighters back across the border to attack northwest Pakistain.

Abductors kill seven coal miners in Balochistan
[Dawn] Police on Thursday found the bodies of seven coal miners who were kidnapped last week in Pakistain's insurgency-torn southwestern province of Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, officials said.

The miners were kidnapped on July 7 in the Soorang area, 25 kilometres east of the bustling provincial capital Quetta, and their bullet-ridden bodies were found dumped on a roadside in the hills of nearby Degari, administration official Zafar Bokhari told AFP.

The Balochistan Liberation Army, which is fighting for independence from the federal government, had grabbed credit for their kidnapping but there was no claim for their deaths, Bokhari said.

The miners were from the Swat
...a valley and an administrative district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistain, located 99 mi from Islamabad. It is inhabited mostly by Pashto speakers. The place has gone steadily downhill since the days when Babe Ruth was the Sultan of Swat...
valley, which is part of the northwestern province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
, he added.

Local police said the miners had been rubbed out overnight.

On Wednesday, Chief Justice of Pakistain, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, accused paramilitary forces of involvement in a third of all disappearances in Balochistan, where the military has been accused of rights violations in its bid to put down the insurgency.

Nine police killed in attack claimed by Taliban in Pakistan
[Al Ahram] Masked gunnies stormed a house and killed nine police cadets in Pakistain's eastern city of Lahore on Thursday, police said, the second attack on security forces claimed by the Taliban in relatively peaceful Punjab province in four days. The Pak Taliban said it was responsible and vowed more violence in the region.

Lahore city police chief Aslam Tareen said three coppers were also maimed.

"At around 6 a.m., masked gunnies on three cycle of violences stormed the house and opened fire. The victims were trainees at the Punjab Jail Academy," Tareen said.

Many of the police were from the northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
province near the border with Afghanistan, a hotbed of Pakistain's insurgency.

Taliban front man Ehsanullah Ehsan said the police from that region had been targeted because they treated Taliban detainees poorly.

"We were looking for them for a long time as their attitude with our people in jails is very inhuman and insulting," he said by telephone from Qazi's guesthouse an undisclosed location.

The Pak Taliban's threat of further attacks raised the prospect of more violence in a region that has been largely spared by bad boy trouble in recent years.

On Monday, gunnies killed six soldiers and a policeman at a riverside military encampment in eastern Pakistain, 100 km (60 miles) north of Lahore. The Pak Taliban also grabbed credit for that attack.

Hamas militant killed, 2 hurt in Israel strike on Gaza
[Al Ahram] A Paleostinian Death Eater from the ruling Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, movement was killed and two others maimed on Thursday in an Israeli air strike on eastern Gazoo City, medics said.

The attack targeted a training ground used by Hamas's armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, in the southeastern Zeitun neighbourhood of the city, they said.

The dead man was named by medics as Mahmud al-Hiqi, 27, and the other two, who were moderately injured in the strike, were also identified as Hamas Death Eaters.

The military confirmed the strike, saying the Israeli Air Force (IAF) had targeted a Death Eater "poised to fire a rocket at Israel."

"A short while ago, IAF aircraft targeted a terrorist in the northern Gazoo Strip. The terrorist was concluding preparations to fire a rocket at Israel. A direct hit was confirmed," a statement claimed.

The incident took place close to an area where three Paleostinians had been injured by Israeli tank fire earlier on Thursday.

In the earlier incident, three men who were travelling in a car in Shejaiya, a neighbourhood in the east of the city, were maimed when a tank shell struck their vehicle and another landed nearby, medics said.

One of them was critically maimed, while the other two were moderately hurt.

The Israeli military said artillery forces and aircraft had fired at "a Hamas terrorist squad" but Paleostinian sources could not immediately confirm if they were forces of Evil or civilians.

"The squad was in position to launch an anti-tank missile at IDF soldiers performing routine activity near the security fence," a statement said, referring to the Israel Defence Forces. "A hit was confirmed."

Unrest in and around Gazoo flared up last month after a deadly cross-border attack from Sinai which left an Israeli civilian dead.

In six days of tit-for-tat violence which began on June 18, 15 Paleostinians were killed and dozens more injured, while forces of Evil fired more than 150 rockets at Israel, injuring five.

Terrorist behind US priest kidnapping arrested in Philippines
Philippine police and military units arrested Jumli Orie Manjuri, an alleged member of the Al-Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf group, on Thursday for the kidnapping of Father William Bertelsman in 1994 on the southern island of Jolo. The suspect was detained on another southern island, Basilan.

Manjuri was part of the group that seized the American priest, who was promptly rescued by authorities, the statement said. He is also believed to have taken part in the killing of 14 military trainees in 1998 and the killing of farm workers in 2008, all in the southern Philippines.

Regime Troops Shell Hama Village, 8 Killed across Syria
[An Nahar] Syrian regime forces on Thursday violently shelled the village of Treimsa in the central province of Hama, monitors and activists said, while eight people were killed across the strife-torn country.

"Regime forces pounded the village of Treimsa in Hama, using tanks and helicopters," said the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, noting that at least one person was killed there and several were maimed, some critically.

"The village school was totally destroyed by the shelling," a Hama-based activist who identified himself as Abu Ghazi told Agence La Belle France Presse via Skype.

"The shelling started at 6:00 am (03:00 GMT) and the deployment around the village was massive. Now, Treimsa is totally besieged."

The Observatory confirmed a total of eight deaths -- five civilians and three rebels -- across Syria on Thursday, including the civilian who died in Treimsa.

On Wednesday, 85 people were killed, including 37 civilians, 34 soldiers and 14 armed rebels, the watchdog said.

Among the soldiers killed were six troops who were "assassinated in Damascus

[Al Ahram] The United States ratcheted up its sanctions against Iran on Thursday, blacklisting a number of firms and individuals for contributing to what it says is an effort to acquire nuclear weapons. Defected Syrian Ambassador Calls on Countrymen to Join Him
[VOA News] The United States says military and diplomatic defections in Syria show a continuing "momentum building" against Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad.
Oppressor of the Syrians and the Lebs...
White House front man Jay Carney said Thursday that desperation is growing within Mr. Assad's government. On a trip to Cambodia, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as The Heroine of Tuzla and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Jeremiah S. Black ...
called for tougher U.N. action against Damascus.
...The place where Pencilneck hangs his brass hat...
The U.S. comments come after Syria's ambassador to Iraq defected this week and joined the opposition. Nawaf Fares is the highest-ranking Syrian official to switch sides since the uprising against Mr. Assad began 16 months ago. A general of Syria's Republican Guard defected last week.

In a lengthy message broadcast on Arab satellite channels, the former ambassador urged Syrian government officials and military personnel to follow his lead and join the opposition. "Where' he asked, 'is the honor of killing the people?"

Fares reportedly left Storied Baghdad
...located along the Tigris River, founded in the 8th century, home of the Abbasid Caliphate...
for the Kurdish autonomous region before announcing his defection. Iraqi authorities reported that he is on a visit to Qatar.
