As many as 11 women have been executed by the Taliban in the Shinwari district of northern Parwan province since the start of the year, provincial Women Affairs director Shah Jan Yazdan Parast said Saturday.
As scores of women marched against violence in the scenic provincial capital Charikar on Saturday, Yazdan Parast pointed out that the amateur video of a woman being shot to death in Parwan about a fortnight ago was not an isolated incident with at least 11 others similarly executed this year.
"Since the start of this year, we've recorded more than 70 cases of violence against women, including eleven women being executed by gunnies in the Hiro valley of Shinwari district," Yazdan Parast said. "The media only released the execution of one woman."
Women residents of Parwan marched with banners to protest violence against women, highlighted by the recent public shooting of the 22-year-old known as Najiba, accused of adultery by a Taliban drumhead court in the Shinwari district. She was executed immediately following the verdict.
The execution received global attention and widespread condemnation after the amateur video was released to the media, but the women said more needed to be done.
Protesters called for Afghan security force to launch more operations in the areas controlled by the Taliban in order to enforce government laws and protect the people, particularly the women, in those areas.
"We are protesting the killing of women by unknown gunnies - most of the women in the areas under the control of Taliban are facing violence. We urge the government and the civil society activists to prevent violence and call on security force to clear those areas from Taliban control," head of Parwan civil society network Katol Faqir Zada said at the protest.
A policewomen who was among the protesters blamed the officials responsible in the areas for not taking violence against women seriously.
"We protest because women are facing violence," she said. "Those who commit this violence should be tossed in the calaboose Book 'im, Mahmoud! and prosecuted. None of the responsible organs have respected women rights so far."

I don't know what will shake the libs from this paradigm of theirs, I guess they really believe in the "State as Religion" themes that Lenin and Trotsky espoused in the 1920's. Very sad they march to a discredited and defunct ideal and they control the mass media and higher education.

(Sh. M. Network)-A roadside Bomb tore through a convoy carrying Somali government soldiers in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia on Saturday, killing a civilian and seriously wounding several others, including troops, Witnesses said.
Residents in Mogadishu's Huriwa district who asked not to be named said they could see thick black smoke billowing from the scene of the kaboom, which the security source said was caused by a remote-controlled landmine.
"A Somali government truck was blown up... I do not know if any soldiers were maimed or killed in the attack," a Witness said, adding that a civilian person walking by Bomb site dead.
The aftermath of the kaboom, dozens of heavily armed security forces cordoned off the scene and began searches nearby streets, to hunt down the criminal masterminds, but no arrests over the attack were reported so far, according to locals.
No group has clamed responsibility for the blast.
Insurgents from the turban Islamist movement of Al shabab have increasingly adopted the tactics of Iraqi guerrillas since the interim Somali government and its African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... troops allies forced them out of the capital Mogadishu in August, last year after a brief war.

Reports from the rebel-held strategic port town of Kismayo, the quiet provincial capital of Lower Jubbaregion say that the cut-throats set a blaze on the vans ferrying Khat owned by traders who were seeking to bring Khat into the town.
Witnesses said that Al shabab cut-throats have taken all Khat dealers into custody in the city and promised to put them on beturbanned goon-owned courts in the region.

Resident Hama Cisse of Goundam town, some 100 kilometers (60 miles) west of Timbuktu, said members of the radical sect Ansar Dine went from door to door in the morning to arrest the leaders of a protest against them.
The protest erupted Friday after a young Islamist militant whipped a woman carrying a baby for not wearing what he considered to be an adequate veil, he said. The baby fell and was critically injured, according to Cisse and other residents.
But a spokesman for the Al-Qaeda-linked group that vows to introduce strict laws, Sanda Abou Mohamed, dismissed the protests as a smear campaign, saying the baby had not been injured. He also maintained that the group hasnt whipped anyone in Goundam.
"Lies! All lies!"
Another resident reached by phone, Ousmane Yattara, said angry citizens marched toward the radicals base, vandalized the premises and took their food supplies.

The situation in Goundam remained tense Saturday, with most residents staying in their houses while the radical Islamists have set up checkpoints on all roads leading to and from the town. (Sh.M.Network)- Elite cops are investigating claims that terror group al-Shabaab ... the personification of Somali state failure... is behind the murders of 14 Christians in the Western Cape.
The killings occurred within a 10-month period across the province, from Mossel Bay to Philippi, Macassar and Paarl.
All of the victims were Æthiopian Christians living here and the murders were initially thought to be random xenophobic attacks on foreigners.
The latest of these is a shop owner who was bumped off in Philippi last Friday.
But police are now investigating new evidence that the killings have been carried out by Somalia-based Al-Shabaab.
It is the first time there has been any suggestion that Al-Shabaab -- which has links to Al-Qaeda -- is operating in South Africa.
Authorities were made aware of the link to the Cape killings when a Christian bishop, also a former police inspector, noticed a distinct pattern in the murders.
The bishop -- who does not want to be identified out of fear that he may be targeted -- has sent three letters to President Jacob Zuma highlighting his concerns.
In one letter -- seen by the Daily Voice -- the bishop states: "Since September, seven of my Æthiopian Community have been shot, of which two have died and five seriously maimed... these are in fact acts of members of Al-Shabaab.
"Al Qaeda affiliates operating undercover by Somalis pretending to be normal refugees... the motive appears to be to try and drive out Æthiopian shop owners."
A response from the President Jacob Zuma's office addressed to the bishop advised him to take his findings to the "private secretary to the Minister of Police... the department placed to engage with you".
In an interview with the Daily Voice, the bishop reveals he is currently in close contact with a special task force intelligence officer who has been assigned to the case.
The bishop -- who is the head of a 4 000-strong congregation -- fears more of his flock will be targeted by the terrorists.
"We want authorities to do something because we know this is the work of al-Shabaab," he says.
"If nothing is done, the Æthiopian population will be depleted.
"The presidency's office said I should apply to the Minister of Police.
"After that a special task force police officer was assigned.
"As a bishop, I feel responsible for my congregation."
The bishop says he dug deeper and discovered hitmen were being hired to carry out the killings.
"A crime has a pattern and when I pieced it together I saw that it was only Æthiopian Christians being targeted... they are in fact holy deaders who have died because they are Christians," the bishop adds.
"It became more complicated, that local hitmen were being paid, you can pay a hitman R400.
"The immigration authority needs to investigate whether these Somalis are here as refugees or terrorists, al-Shabaab."
The bishop says he held a three-hour meeting with MEC for Community Safety Dan Plato in March where he outlined his disturbing findings.
Plato claimed he could not recall details from the meeting because he is constantly inundated with complaints.
"I meet so many people," Plato says.
But he warned people should be wary about calling attacks on foreigners "xenophobic" when it sometimes is the result of criminal activity or "infighting between foreigners".

Father Mike Williams of the Anglican Catholic Church also reveals members of his congregation have been targeted by gunnies with connections to Mohammedan beturbanned goons.
"In July, we have lost seven members of our church," he says.
"In Langa, I took police to the scene where [a member] was shot in the leg inside his Spaza shop.
"He was badly injured when these guys stormed inside.
"Another member of our congregation, who is a father, was shot but the bullet only hit (his) shirt. It was a miracle.
"Father Wondimu Shanko of our congregation has since fled out of South Africa because of what is happening.
"We had an incident in 2010 where a man, Abera Feyissa, lost his right leg in an attack. He was lucky to survive."
Al-Shabaab is a terror group that controls most of the Southern and Central parts of Somalia, where it has imposed its own strict version of Islamic law.
But the terror group -- which has links to al Qaeda -- has been attempting to extend its influence acrossAfrica.
Al-Shabaab describes itself as waging jihad (holy war) against the "enemies of Islam".
And it is believed members have reportedly intimidated, kidnapped and killed many foreign aid workers.
Just this month, it is believed Islamist bully boyz attacked two churches in eastern Kenya, killing 17 people and wounding 60 more.
A group of masked men threw grenades into the African Inland Churchin Garissa, close to the Somali border, and opened fire.
The terror attacks in Kenya began last September in response to a government clamp down on al-Shabaab.
It is believed al-Shabaab and al Qaeda are trying to expand their sphere of influence across the Sahara and Sahel desert..
In 2008, al-Shabaab killed 30 people in a series of bombings in Somaliland.
And in July 2010, two al-Shabaab jacket wallahs wearing vests stuffed with explosives surrounded a crowd watching soccer in the Ugandan capital,Kampala.
A total of 76 people died.

"Four masked gunnies on cycle of violences entered Al-Awamiya police centre where one of them threw a petrol bomb while the rest shot up the station," interior ministry front man Mansur al-Turki said, quoted by SPA news agency.
"The guards dealt with them, killing one while the rest (of the assailants) fled," said Turki.

The ICRC delegate was kidnapped around 5 p.m. local time on Saturday 21 April 2012 around 30 kilometres from Hodeida town. He was in an ICRC vehicle on his way to the airport.

[Yemen Post] At least three central security soldiers were maimed after unidentified armed people fired mortars on the central security camp in the Khour Maksar district in Yemen's port city of Aden on Friday, the interior ministry reported.
Four mortars landed inside the camp wounding the three members and now deputy interior minister has ordered to investigate the incident and hunt those involved, it said.
In a separate incident in Aden which has been experiencing alarming security disorders, gunnies fired at the cop shoppe in the Mansoura district and bravely ran away, the ministry said.
There were no reports of casualties from the second incident.
Clashes have recently erupted between fans of the Southern Movement, Harak, and the security forces in Mansoura amid protests condemning the security deterioration and tight measures in the port city.
The protesters have also called for the government to give priority to the south issue amid preparations for a comprehensive national dialogue.
Harak has been struggling since 2007 to demand a fair solution to the south cause and sometimes it presses for secessionism.
Al-Qaeda has stepped up its operations carrying out several deadly suicide kabooms in several Yemeni cities including the capital Sanaa, in what seems to be retaliation after the severe blows in the south.
The army with direct support from the US drove Al-Qaeda Islamic fascistifrom their strongholds in Abyan ...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues... and Shabwa and have killed hundreds of them including big shots since May.
In the meantime, the persistent unrest, mainly security disorders, is casting a cloud over the West-backed democratic transition, after the Yemeni parties signed a power-transfer deal following the 2011 turmoil.

The festivities overnight started on a main road south of Dagestan's main city of Makhachkala and then continued in the surrounding forests and vineyards as the security forces gave chase to the orcs.
"As of now, the bodies of six gun-hung tough guys have been found. The operation is continuing," a security source told the Interfax news agency.
The source said that one member of the security services was killed and three others were maimed.
The Islamist-tinted insurgency the Kremlin has fought in the northern Caucasus in the last years has become increasingly focused on Dagestan, a mainly Mohammedan region on the Caspian Sea inhabited by a patchwork of ethnic groups.

[Saudi Gazette] Police fired water cannon and tear gas as they clashed with stone-throwing Kurdish protesters in southeast Turkey Saturday, while snuffies elsewhere in the region detonated a bomb which maimed 12 coppers.
Kurdish members of parliament were caught up in the trouble as police and demonstrators battled on the streets of the main south-eastern city of Diyarbakir, where the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) was planning to hold a rally.
The provincial governor had refused the party permission to hold the rally, planned in part to call for the release of tossed in the slammer Drop the rosco and step away witcher hands up! Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) thug leader Abdullah Ocalan.
The rally coincided with the first anniversary of a declaration of "democratic autonomy" by Kurdish politicians, and it was also exactly one year after PKK guerrillas killed 13 soldiers in an attack in Diyarbakir.
While the street festivities continued in Diyarbakir, PKK snuffies detonated a roadside kaboom by remote control, wounding 12 coppers after they got out of a vehicle in eastern Turkey, security sources said.
The attack took place outside a police shooting range in the province of Van, which is on the border with Iran. The maimed police were not reported to be in a serious condition.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said Friday the charge follows an investigation that alleges Mouna Diab committed offences for the benefit of a contact linked to Hizbullah which is considered a terrorist organization in Canada.

An in-depth investigation brought about the new charge that carries up to a maximum of life in prison for committing an offence for a terrorist group.
The RCMP said Diab was allegedly shipping parts through other Lebanese community members, although those people were unaware of what they were carrying, said the Canadian Press.
"It is alleged that Diab was acting under the direction of a contact person in Leb who is associated with Hizbullah," the RCMP said in a statement.

Iranian Khaki to stand trial for allegedly trying to buy 20 tons of special steel for nuclear centrifuges; Chinaman Zongcheng Yi still on the run

The two men have been charged with trying to illegally export nuclear-related material to Iran that could be used in gas centrifuges to enrich uranium, the US Justice Department announced Friday.
A grand jury indictment in the case also charged one of the men with conspiring to procure radioactive material from the United States for customers in Iran.

The indictment alleges that the efforts of the defendants actually did result in the illegal export of lathes and nickel alloy 120 wire from the US through China to Iran. In February 2009, Khaki asked Yi to contact a US company about procuring two Twister Speed Lathes. Yi allegedly purchased these items and arranged for them to be shipped from the US to Hong Kong and ultimately to Iran in June 2009. At Khaki's request, an unnamed conspirator sent a US company an order for nickel alloy, falsely stating that a company in China was the buyer. The US company shipped the nickel alloy to Yi in Hong Kong, who shipped it on to Iran.
Khaki and Yi are each charged with one count of conspiracy to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act by conspiring with others to export US goods to Iran without a required US Treasury Department license. Both are also charged with one count of conspiring to defraud the US, two counts of smuggling, two counts of illegally exporting US goods to Iran in violation of IEEPA and one count of conspiracy to engage in money laundering.
Both defendants face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for conspiring to violate IEEPA; five years for conspiring to defraud the US, 10 years for each smuggling count, 20 years in prison for each IEEPA count and 20 years in prison for conspiracy to commit money laundering.
[Dawn] A 'lost' cell phone of a slain trainee has got prime importance for the joint team of intelligence agencies and the coppers probing Thursday's terrorist attack which claimed lives of nine trainees of the Khyhber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) Prisons Department.
A senior detective who is part of the probe team told Dawn on Friday that the major focus of the Sherlocks was a missing cell phone of a slain trainee.
He said the trainee was talking to someone on the cell phone at the doorstep of the private hostel in Rasool Park, Ichhra, and the hard boyz first attacked him.
Initial investigation revealed that the cell phone was still missing and might have been taken away by the assailants, he said.
"If the cell phone is in the possession of the terrorists, we can reach them by tracing its record", he said adding
that efforts were underway for an access to the cell phone record.
He said that at least eight to 10 hard boyz took part in the deadly operation and all of them were highly trained.
Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Aslam Tareen told Dawn the investigations so far suggested the assailants were still in the placid provincial capital. He said several police teams in collaboration with the officials of the sensitive agencies had launched intensive search operations in various localities of the placid provincial capital.
"During search operations the police have taken into custody some 150 suspects", he said adding that the tossed in the clink Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! were being questioned.

[An Nahar] Gunmen killed nine people, including seven members of the security forces, on Saturday in separate attacks on checkpoints in north Iraq, security and medical officials said.
In the deadliest shooting, five members of the security forces died when gunnies opened fire on a checkpoint in the Turkmen town of Rashidiyah, northeast of the main northern city of djinn-infested Mosul, an army captain said, speaking on condition of anonymity ... for fear of being murdered... Two other security personnel were maimed, the officer said, without specifying how many of the dead were soldiers and coppers. Doctor Omar Danoon at djinn-infested Mosul hospital confirmed the toll.
Iraq's Turkish-speaking Turkmen community includes about 500,000 people living mostly in djinn-infested Mosul, Kirkuk and Tal Afar. They have been the target of a number of deadly attacks, blamed by local authorities on al-Qaeda.

"The five women are accused of causing disturbances during the event" in the Palestinian village of Nabi Saleh, she said, adding they will face a hearing later Saturday in a Jerusalem court for their eventual deportation to Sweden, Italy and Britain.
"Four others, including Israeli nutcase activist Jonathan Pollack, were also apprehended by border guards but later released Friday after a brief interrogation," she said.
At the same time, she denied the arrest of American journalist Ben Ehrenreich of the New York Times magazine. On Friday, an activist group said 12 people were detained by Israeli soldiers during the demonstration, including the five foreigners, Pollack and Ehrenreich.
Since 2009, Nabi Saleh has been the site of weekly demonstrations staged by Palestinian villagers, Israeli and international activists who oppose encroachment by a neighboring Jewish settlement.
The weekly pageantry thus both satisfying the souls of the protesters and accomplishing absolutely nothing at all.

Disgusted by the ongoing peace talks, the head of the biggest Muslim terrorist insurgent group in the Philippines threatened today to continue with its armed struggle as they can no longer make the people wait for endless negotiations with the government.
In a statement, Ibrahim Murad, chief of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), said,
Warning: Awkward translations ahead.
"We are negotiating with the Philippine Government not for the interest of our organization but for the entire Bangsamoro people. We cannot hold any longer our people to wait an endless talk with the government.
"Everything has an ending. The negotiation has been prolonged to 40 years accounting it from 1975 from the Moro National Liberation Front until now but the problem has not been addressed. If political struggle is exhausted, arm struggle may have been the other way."
The rebel leader said they have already made many compromises. He said, "We hope President Aquino shall fulfill his commitment to conclude the peace negotiation in the tenure of his administration as only 3 years more for him to do it."
Chief government negotiator Dean Marvic Leonen also reiterated the need for urgency to sign a peace pact. He said, "Our final agreement should be simple but meaningful and it should be signed within this year so that there is an opportunity to implement and assess and learn some more."

There are several countries around the world that are trying to deal with the political headache of accommodating a Muslim region within a larger framework of different groups/tribes. Examples include the Philippines & Nigeria. It's pretty near impossible to meet the demands of the hardline Islamics when they essentially want their own autonomous region governed by Sharia law. That demand boils down to a declaration of independence - of sorts.
The Moros have a long history of jungle & ocean warfare - they were fierce fighters and pirates in the times that the Spaniards occupied the Philippines. They will not "go quietly into the night".

A series of bomb attacks on Friday night which wounded three people and put all ATMs in Yala's Bannang Sata district offline. It was not possible for people to withdraw money from ATMs in Bannang Sata on Saturday, forcing customers to use bank tellers.
Police were alerted to four coordinated ATM bombings at about 8:30 p.m. Friday night. A grenade attack and another bomb blast elsewhere followed.
Muhammad Zuwae, who was riding a motorcycle past an Islamic Bank of Thailand ATM when one of the bombs went off, was wounded and taken to a nearby hospital. Bombs were set off at three other ATM locations in the district at the same time. No one was hurt in these blasts.
Soon afterwards, three M79 grenades were fired at a group of police welfare houses behind Bannang Sata district police station, slightly injuring Pornpitak Thaipan, a military ranger volunteer who lived in one of the homes. It is believed that the attackers had intended to hit the police station itself, but had missed their target.
A fifth bomb was detonated inside a trash bin in front of a government office, injuring a policeman who was working to control traffic near the attacked ATMs.
A police investigation revealed at least 10 terrorist insurgent suspects were involved in the attacks. Half of them carried out the bombings and the other half were involved in the grenade attack on the police station.
The attackers are thought to be members of an terrorist insurgent group led by Mukta Alimamae. He succeeded Ma-ae Apibalbae who was killed last year in a battle with security forces in Yala's Than To district.
The ATM attackers appeared to know the range of the security cameras as they avoided being clearly filmed while carrying out the attacks. About five people were filmed by a security camera at one ATM briefly before a bomb went off there. Only a blurred image of their heads was captured however.
In neighboring Pattani province, military ranger volunteer Ezun Duengpano was killed in a drive-by shooting around midday yesterday. He was riding a motorcycle home when two attackers approached on a motorcycle. One of them shot him repeatedly with a handgun.
Security officials in both Pattani and Narathiwat are increasing security measures ahead of Ramadan which will start later this month. Intelligence reports suggested terrorists insurgents are plotting more attacks during that period.
A paramilitary ranger was killed in a drive-by shooting in Pattani's Saiburi district late Saturday morning. The victim was identified as Ranger Esun Dingpanoh of Paramilitary Ranger Company 44 in Pattani.
The victim was driving his motorcycle on a local road when a gunman riding pillion on another motorcycle opened fire on him with a .38 mm pistol. The attackers then fled. Esun was hit in the head and torso and died on the spot.
An explosion targeted a security forces bus in Damascus on Sunday and injured several people, according to activists.
Residents reported hearing a powerful blast, followed by the ambulance sirens rushing toward Damascus's southern ring road near the neighborhood of Midan. Some activists have said more than one member of the security forces was killed in the attack, but others said there were no dead, only injured.
They said the explosion appeared to have been caused by an improvised explosive device that had been stuck onto the bus.
