RandomJD, that reminds me of a time back when, walking along I came across a booth whose peddlers wanted me to have a copy of the Bahagva-Gita. "Have this free copy if you just listen to us for 5 minutes and consider a donation". Never read it, so you know wth, only had $10 for the whole day. Listened to their deal about love and community so forth, gave them the 10spot. They said the book was valued at $15, it would be nice if I donated that. "But you said this book was valued at five minutes of my time?! What was that deal about worldy possession possessing us and all?"
But it costs $15!

[Iran Press TV] At least six Afghan kids have been killed and five others have been injured when a piece of unexploded ordnance (UXO) went off in Afghanistan's Baghlan Province, Press TV reports.
According to local officials, the incident occurred on Wednesday in the province. Reports say that the children, aged 4 to 14, were playing with explosive devices left over from fighting in the area.

CNN) A man suspected of involvement in the September attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi is being held in Libya, according to two sources who have spoken with CNN.
Both sources confirmed the man's name as Faraj al-Shibli (also spelled Chalabi). One of the sources, who has been briefed on the arrest by Western intelligence officials, said al-Shibli was detained within the past two days and had recently returned from a trip to Pakistan.
It is unclear exactly what his role might have been or whether he was actually present at the U.S. compound at the time of the attack. It's also unclear whether his detention is likely to lead to charges in connection with the assault on the compound, which resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens.
Both the FBI and the Department of Justice refused to comment on the reports of al-Shibli's detention.
He is the only known suspect in custody in connection with the attack in Benghazi. A 26-year-old Tunisian, Ali Ani al Harzi, was held in Tunis for several weeks in connection with the assault on the compound after being extradited from Turkey. But he was released by a Tunisian judge in January on grounds on insufficient evidence.
[Iran Press TV] People have taken to streets in eastern Bahrain to protest against the ruling Al Khalifa and Al Saud regimes.
The demonstration was held in the island of Sitra east of capital Manama on Wednesday with Bahrainis shouting slogans against the two regimes.
Protesters burned effigies of Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Earlier in the day, Bahrain's public prosecutor said six people were arrested over the past couple of days for allegedly insulting the Bahraini king on Twitter.
The latest detentions came two days after a court acquitted rights activist Yousef al-Muhafedha of spreading false news on Twitter.

[Bangla Daily Star] Rab recovered a powerful homemade bomb near the main gates of Brahmanbaria Judge Court on Tuesday night.
Maj Mohammad Mahfuz-ul-Amin Noor, commanding officer of Rab-9 Bhairab camp, said the homemade device was equivalent to 45 powerful grenades. The bomb could have razed at least half of the court building and surrounding structures if it was triggered.
According to Rab sources, they were tipped off about the whereabouts of the bomb and an explosives expert team headed by Major Abdur Rahman was rushed from Dhaka immediately. The bomb was found wrapped in a bag and buried under five sacks of sand at the bottom of an electric pole near the main gate of the court around 11:00pm on Tuesday. It was defused around 2:50am yesterday.
The sources also said the bomb was placed so that the District Judge Court, District Commissioner's office, Superintendent of Police's office, the Civil Surgeon's office, and the Circuit House and Engineering Offices come within its blast radius.
The sources said the bomb, weighing four kilograms, contained high power explosives, a detonator, and a series of complex circuits.
Mahfuz said, "We have treated the bomb as an improvised powerful bomb. These types of explosives can be triggered by heat, light, seismic interruptions or even induction from electromagnetic waves." The law enforcement agency did not allow any photographs to be taken.
"Detectives have been asked to find out those involved in planting this bomb," he added.
Brahmanbaria Superintendent of Police Md Muniruzzaman said several teams of police are also working to find a lead to this case.

Russian security forces killed seven suspected Islamist terrorists militants in the North Caucasus province of Kabardino-Balkaria on Tuesday.
Three suspected terrorists militants were killed when security forces opened fire on two cars whose drivers did not respond to demands to show identification documents, according to unidentified law enforcement officials.
Separately four more alleged terrorists militants, suspected of illegal arms sales, were killed in the same province on Tuesday and another eight people were arrested, according to Russia's federal anti-terrorist committee.
The reports made no mention of casualties among the security forces.
[An Nahar] Germany said on Wednesday it had banned three Islamist Salafist groups which officials said aimed to sweep aside democracy and set up a system based on Sharia Islamic law.
The interior ministry said the bans, which come amid stepped-up observation of the Salafist community in Germany, took effect early Wednesday in the western states of Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia.
The targeted organizations are "DawaFFM" and "Islamische Audios", as well as "An-Nussrah", which is part of the "Millatu Ibrahim" group that was already banned in June, a ministry statement said.
Searches were carried out at the homes of 20 people and property was seized, it added.
Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich said the groups were seeking in an "aggressive militant" way to change society "in which democracy is to be replaced by a Salafist system and the rule of law by Sharia".
At the time of the "Millatu Ibrahim" network ban, hundreds of police raided more than 70 homes, schools and mosques across the country in a clamp-down on what one official described as "dangerous extremists".
It was not immediately clear how many members are in the three groups which were banned on Wednesday but German authorities estimate that there are about 4,500 Salafists in the country.
They espouse an austere form of Sunni Islam but officials in Germany accuse them of also condoning violence against state institutions.
The Salafists raised concern last year with their drive to convert non-Muslims, a campaign that involved handing out 25 million copies of the Koran in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

[Dawn] Scores of tribal families have crossed over into Afghanistan owing to excessive artillery shelling by the security forces and aerial bombing in parts of Tirah valley of Khyber Agency, according to sources.
They said that the people, who were migrating to Afghanistan from Tirah, belonged to Sipah, Malikdinkhel, Akkakhel, Qambarkhel and Kukikhel areas of Khyber Agency.
Knowledgeable sources told Dawn that more than 100 families migrated to Kunar, Paktiya and Nangarhar provinces of Afghanistan a week ago.
The exodus was still continuing as many houses situated in Sipah, Malikdinkhel Kukikhel and Qambarkhel areas were destroyed by artillery shelling and aerial bombing, they added.
Qumandan Zakhakhel, a resident of Nangrosa area, told Dawn by telephone that the aerial bombing and artillery shelling also left several people dead including women and children.
However, a lie repeated often enough remains a lie... his claim could not be verified through independent sources.
The sources close to banned outfit Lashkar-i-Islam in Bara also confirmed migration of scores of tribal families from Tirah to Afghanistan.
The Pakistan Air Force fighter planes have been conducting regular air strikes to target hideouts and bases of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and Lashkari-i-Islam in Tirah since the last week of January when Taliban launched an offensive against Ansaarul Islam, a pro-government armed group holding control of the strategic Bagh-Maidan valley in Tirah.
Sources said that security forces had been also shelling the positions of Lashkar-i-Islam in Sipah and surrounding areas for the last two weeks.
Taliban affiliated with Tariq Afridi group of Darra Adamkhel had captured the entire Kukikhel area in May last year while most parts of Sipah, Malikdinkhel, Akkakhel and Qambarkhel are under the control of Lashkar-i-Islam chief Mangal Bagh since 2009.
Sources said that it was for the first time during the last three and a half years that Mangal Bagh allowed families to move out of the areas of his influence and take shelter in comparatively safer places.
The migrating families had little choice to go elsewhere except to the bordering provinces of Afghanistan as all the routes leading to Mangal Bagh-controlled areas were either seized by their rival groups -- Tawheedul Islam and Ansaarul Islam while in some places the security forces established checkposts, sources said.
They said that the Zakhakhel dominated Tawheedul slam group was in effective control of the Mangal Bagh Kandao, situated on the border with Sipah area, and restricted the movement of Lashkar-i-Islam activists and their sympathisers.
Ansaarul Islam, sources said, was holding ground in areas that linked Tirah valley to Orakzai and Kurram agencies while the security forces were deployed at the Bara-Sheen Qamar Road and Nawy Qamar localities.
"The only opening available to Lashkar-i-Islam members and their sympathisers towards Afghanistan is the Kukikhel gorge, which is currently in the control of Taliban," sources said.
They said that alongside Lashkar-i-Islam sympathisers, a number of Taliban families also crossed over into Afghanistan.
Qumandan Zakhakhel said that Lashkar-i-Islam chief Mangal Bagh himself issued order of migration and many of the families belonging to Speen Drand, Haft Dara, Dray Wandee, Abdulkhel and Kukikhel areas moved out of their houses.
"The vacant houses are now under the occupation of local Lashkar-i-Islam commanders, who have also established bunkers in some of these houses," he said.
The local administrative officials, when contacted, did not comment on the migration of tribal people from Tirah to Afghanistan.

[Dawn] Police claimed to have busted a terrorist gang comprising of children who were allegedly involved in a series of bomb explosions in Quetta on Wednesday.
Capital City Police Officer, Zubair Mehmood said all accused were children and their ages were between 11 to 18 years.
"Police arrested 11 children after an encounter in suburbs of Quetta last night," Mehmood told a hurriedly called press conference on Wednesday. He said all teenagers belong to extremely poor and down-trodden families.
He added that eight militants belonging to a Baloch separatists group managed to escape during the operation.
"Arrested teenagers have confessed to involvement in more than one dozen bomb explosions," Mehmood said.
He said the teenagers were paid between 2000 to 5000 rupees per blast.
The CCPO stated that children were being used by terrorists to carry out terrorist incidents at crowded locations of Quetta city.
He said the children had admitted to their involvement in Mezan Chowk blast, which left more than a dozen people including three frontier corps personnel dead.
Mehmood said police seized anti personnel mines, explosives and other arms and ammunitions from children's possessions.
At least 12 people lost their lives at Bacha Khan Chowk in Quetta on Jan 10 this year when a bomb went off near a vehicle of the Frontier Corps on the same day that the Alamdar road blast incident took place killing over a hundred people.
The Bacha Khan blast was claimed by the proscribed United Baloch Army as revenge for Mashkay, Awaran and Bolan operations launched by FC.

[Dawn] Clashes between outlawed militant groups in the northwestern Pakistan escalated late Tuesday as Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants set ablaze houses of at least 10 civilians, accusing them of being supporters of the rival Ansarul Islam (AI) group.
Locals and the eyewitnesses confirmed the burning of the houses in Khyber Agency's restive Tirah Valley, while other reports say at least 20 militants from both sides have also died in fresh clashes.

Ansarul Islam spokesman Sadaat Afridi claimed the group has lost four fighters while three others were injured in the ensuing gun-battles still continuing in the flashpoint valley.
"We have killed more than 13 TTP fighters as their attack on the civilian houses was repulsed in Maidan Bar bagh area," he said.
Sadaat claimed the rival TTP militants had started targeting the civilian population after losing ground in the battles, and has so far set ablaze more than 10 houses.
Speaking about targeting of civilians, Ehsanullah Ehsan, a spokesman for the TTP, said the people were supporters of the Ansarul Islam.
"They have taken up arms against the Taliban, so they would be dealt with similarly," he added.

[Iran Press TV] Two female tourists from the Czech Republic have been kidnapped in Pakistan's southwestern province of Balochistan, a local government official says. "Where do you think we should go for vacation this year, honey? Costa Brava? Or Pakistain?"
The incident occurred on Wednesday when unknown gunmen stopped a bus and abducted the women in the Nok Kundi area of Chaghi district, some 550 kilometers (350 miles) west of the provincial capital Quetta. "Oh, Pakistain, of course, dear! The explosions are breaktaking this time of year!"
"Both the women were from Czech Republic and entered in Pakistan as tourists," said provincial Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani.
He added that the armed men also had taken captive a tribal policeman who was guarding the bus but later released him.
No group has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
Southwestern and northwestern parts of Pakistan have been hit by violence in recent years.

Up to 21 people were killed and some 50 wounded in a series of car bombings and shootings in central the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Thursday, an Interior Ministry source said.

"Our latest report said that 21 people were killed, including seven policemen, while some 50 wounded, including 15 policemen, by the blasts and gunmen attacks in downtown Baghdad," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The attacks took place around 1:00 a.m. local time (1000 GMT) within five minutes when gunmen blew up three car bombs and another believed to be a suicide bombing near some government buildings in downtown the capital, the source said.
One of the car bombs was close to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and another went off outside the nearby building of the Telecommunication institute in Alawi district, while the third car bomb ripped through the area near the Ministry of Culture, a few hundred meters away from the Ministry of Justice in the district of a-Salhiyah, the source added.
The car bombings were apparently made to distort the attention of the security forces to pave the way for gunmen with a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest to enter the Justice Ministry building, but the Iraqi security forces fought them back, the source said.
The suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance of the Justice Ministry, when the soldiers opened fire on him, while the other attackers managed to enter the four-story building, he said.
The Philippine Navy said it has detained 35 suspected Filipino militants yesterday as they tried to sail home from a military offensive against them in Sabah.
They are thought to be remnants of a band of up to 300 followers of a self-proclaimed Filipino sultan who entered Sabah a month ago to stake a territorial claim on the area, regional military chief Rey Ardo said. He said, They were coming back (home) they are armed."
The self-styled Sultan of Sulu vowed his men would not leave until Malaysia recognised their territorial claims. However, after a stand-off that lasted more than two weeks, Malaysian security forces launched a major operation against the gunmen.
Navy spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Gregory Fabic said the 35 people detained yesterday were on two small boats that were intercepted by two navy patrol vessels on the Philippines side of the sea border with Malaysia. They were sailing to a Philippine island about 60 kilometers from the area of Sabah.
Fabic and Ardo said there were 34 men and one woman aboard the boats, both of which carried guns. Ardo said one of the men was injured, possibly from the Sabah clashes.
Hassan Taib, the liaison office chief for the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN), has told the group's fighters to scale down violence to create an atmosphere conducive to peace talks.
"It remains to be seen if there will be less violence. Mr Taib is apparently trying to give assurances that he is really in control," said a source who was in the delegation of the National Security Council (NSC) which signed an agreement with Mr Taib to prepare the way for peace talks among insurgent groups on Feb 28 in Kuala Lumpur.
The source said officials would have to hold talks with rebel leaders in charge of operations. However, they might not be able to proceed with them publicly.
It is speculated Mr Taib will bring other groups including Pulo Bersatu to the talks when they open on March 28, according to the source.
The source said Thailand's delegation, led by Lt Gen Paradorn, would sign the terms of reference for peace talks. The key points are that the talks must be in line with the constitution and must not advocate separatism.
Lt Gen Paradorn on Wednesday revealed the plan after chairing a meeting of top security officials to prepare details for the March 28 meeting. He said the delegation will focus on reducing violence in the troubled region and preventing attacks on civilians.
He said authorities believe they are on the right track because the BRN is the largest operational insurgent group in the region.
The Isara News Agency (INA) reported that the new generation of southern rebels had no interest in the peace talks and did not know Mr Taib. According to the its report, the rebels were not interested in a special administrative zone and would continue the violence until their objectives were met.
[An Nahar] The U.N. has halted peacekeeping patrols in the Golan Heights amid fears that fallout from the Syrian war could cause more countries to withdraw from its force, diplomats said Wednesday.
The abduction last week of 21 Philippine members of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), which has monitored a ceasefire zone between Syria and Israel since 1974, has heightened security fears.
Canada, Japan and Croatia have withdrawn their contingents in recent months leaving only the Philippines, Austria and India in UNDOF.
The Philippine government said it is reviewing its activities after the 21 troops were held for four days. Austria has also raised concerns to the U.N., diplomats said.

[Al Ahram] Syria's air force raided the strife-torn district of Baba Amr in the central city of Homs on Wednesday, four days after rebels infiltrated the neighbourhood that has seen some of the two-year revolt's fiercest battles, a watchdog said.
Clashes also raged near the sensitive border with Lebanon, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, while the regime's intelligence forces used heavy machinegun fire to target rebel enclaves around the ancient city of Palmyra.
"A warplane carried out a new raid targeting the district of Baba Amr," said the Britain-based Observatory, which relies on a network of activists, doctors and lawyers for its information.
Rebels re-entered Baba Amr a year after the district fell back into army control.
Clashes have raged in parts of the southwestern district of Homs, while rebels in the heart of Syria's third city held out against an escalated army offensive aimed at crushing the insurgency there.
Across Homs, both rebels and troops have sustained heavy losses in the past week, according to the Observatory.
Elsewhere in Homs province, "air force intelligence troops used heavy machinegun fire to target rebels on the outskirts of Palmyra." said the watchdog.
And on the border with Lebanon, "four rebel fighters were killed in clashes against troops in the village of Jousiyeh," it said.
In the capital, "two mortar rounds launched by terrorists fell near an orphanage," state news agency SANA said, without mentioning casualties.
The Observatory confirmed there had been mortar fire, but did not specify the area.
"Rebels fire almost daily onto areas in central Damascus. Because of the nature of their weapons, their shots are inaccurate," Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.
In the northwest, clashes raged at Hish in Idlib province as regime forces "fought to break the (rebel) siege on the Wadi Deif base" nearby, said the Observatory.
The insurgents laid siege to Wadi Deif last October.
In the northern city of Aleppo, warplanes carried out several strikes near Minnigh air base, the scene of fierce fighting since rebels launched an all-out campaign to seize airports in the province on 12 February.
Wednesday's violence came a day after at least 110 people were killed across the country, the Observatory said.
