#9  Two cannibals, a father and son, were elected by the tribe to go out
and get something to eat. They walked deep into the jungle and waited
by a path.
Before long, along came this little old man. The son said, "Ooh dad,
there's one."
"No," said the father. "There's not enough meat on that one to even
feed the dogs. We'll just wait."
Well, a little while later, along came this really fat man. The son
said, "Hey dad, he's plenty big enough."
"No," the father said. "We'd all die of a heart attack from the fat
in that one. We'll just wait."
About an hour later, here comes this absolutely gorgeous woman, Blake Lively. The
son said, "Now there's nothing wrong with that one dad. Let's eat her."
"No," said the father. "We'll not eat her either."
"Why not?" asked the son.
"Because, we're going to take her back alive and eat your mother."

#10  Ugh, thats good. Me like. You know the dating scene has always be difficult for men; say, I remember once upon a time a long long time ago...You know how they always talk about caveman days?. Well thats because women hated caves. To date in those times when men saw a pretty woman he bonked her on the head and dragged her to his cave. When she woke up he was in trouble. The cave was dark, damp, had snakes, and people just tracked in dirt all day. The worst part was there was no toilet seat!!. So she demanded better and left. So the caveman builds her a tree condo. He gathers game for food then knocks at the door. She answers and sees the deer laying on the floor. She says OH NO I'm going to be be picking up hairballs all week. Ugh, the man said and walks off to his man cave. :)What did I do?...Women. :(

Eyeing Syria, U.S. Paratroopers Rehearse Seizure of Chemical Arms
[NTI] The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization with a mission to strengthen global security by reducing the risk of use and preventing the spread of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons and to work to build the trust, transparency, and security that are preconditions to the ultimate fulfillment of the Non-Proliferation Treaty’s goals and ambitions.

All the mindless beltway bloviating about "no boots on the ground" is bullshi*. Bombing won't get it. Never has, never will.

#1  You can guarantee destruction of the weapons without a single boot on the ground. Just be willing to accept the collateral damage.

Problem is nobody has enough courage to tell the idiot in cheif that's how the math works. To preserve innocent Syrian lives for the most part, some of them will have to die in collateral damage in full striked to destroy the chem weps. Either that, or be prepared to lose a American lives in Syria - plus the inevitable sh*tstorm that having troops on the ground will cause. Far more I'd wager, than simply leaving a large smoking crater next to the "Baby Milk Factory" sign.

Pursued Benghazi murder suspects abandon vehicle and weapons, flee into "wild country"
"Curly-toed slippers, don't fail me now!"
[Libya Herald] There were unconfirmed reports that the vehicle used by killers of an army bomb disposal expert on Friday, was pursued by security forces this evening and abandoned by its four occupants, who then fled into the countryside.

Col Mustafa Agela Almugrbi was shot outside the Al-Ansar mosque as he left Friday prayers with his ten-year old son. His two masked attackers were travelling in a white Mitsubishi Lancer with tinted windows.

This evening the same vehicle was apparently spotted by a Benghazi security patrol who sought to stop it. A chase ensued which ended when the four men aboard the Lancer abandoned it and fled into what a security source described as "wild country". Weapons and at least one phone were left behind by the suspects. More members of the security forces arrived on the scene and the area was reportedly surrounded. It is not yet clear if any arrests have been made.

If the runaways are indeed connected with the Almugrbi murder and are jugged
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
, then it will be the second security breakthrough in a seemingly unstoppable nine-month campaign of liquidation, which has focused on serving and retired military personnel and police.

Earlier today, the Libya Herald revealed that a group of suspects had been jugged
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
in Benghazi and moved last week to Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
for investigation. Refusing to do more than confirm that a number of people had been arrested, Prime Minister Nuri Zeidan said at his scheduled Sunday presser, that more details would be given in due course. The only other Benghazi liquidation suspect ever arrested, a man named as Ali Al-Fezzani, was picked up in January but beat feet from custody after being sent to Tripoli.

[Al Ahram] Four members of the Moslem Brüderbund have been incarcerated

in Upper Egypt's Aswan for allegedly taking part in an attack on the city's security directorate on 14 August, assaulting and torturing coppers, reported Egypt's state news agency MENA.

The attacks occurred on 14 August during festivities between supporters of ousted Islamist President Mohamed Morsi and security forces, following the violent dispersal of pro-Morsi sit-ins in Cairo and Giza, which left hundreds of casualties.

Similar festivities occurred nationwide.

Another 7 have been arrested in this case, MENA reported.

Over 1000 Moslem Brüderbund members have been arrested during the past week, including prominent Brotherhood leaders and leading Islamist figures associated with the group, which has been charged with 'inciting violence'.

Nigeria Kidnappers Kill Four Police to Snatch Lawyer
[An Nahar] Gunmen killed four coppers who attempted to prevent the abduction of a prominent lawyer on a road in southern Nigeria, police said Sunday.

The Edo state police said in a statement that one of its units responded to an emergency call warning that gunnies were active on a road near Benin City, east of Lagos, on Saturday.

The gunnies opened fire as soon as they sighted the patrol, it said.

"At the end of the gun duel, the hoodlums escaped with bullet wounds but not without their victim," the statement said. "Regrettably, the command lost four officers in the encounter."

The police said the kidnap victim was Mike Ozekhome, a senior Lagos-based lawyer known for his staunch criticism of the corruption and bad governance that plagues the west African nation.

His colleague lawyer Festus Keyamo expressed shock at the incident, describing it as "one kidnap too many (that) further draws local and international attention to the poor state of security in our country."

"It also highlights the state of joblessness among youths in our country, which is one reason why they turn to this dangerous trade for their livelihood," he said.

Ozekhome's driver was also snatched and a manhunt was launched, the police said.

Yemen Foils Suicide Bomber at English Language Center
[An Nahar] Yemeni security forces on Sunday foiled an attack by a would-be jacket wallah on an English language school once linked to the U.S. embassy in Sanaa, a security official said.

The assailant, 20, was caught after he hurled a grenade that failed to explode at the Yemen-America Language Institute in west Sanaa, the official said.

Security guards found the man wearing an explosives belt, he added.

The YALI institute was founded by the U.S. embassy in 1975, but has been run privately for the past few years.

Security forces foiled the attack on the same day a powerful blast destroyed a bus carrying Yemeni air force personnel to their Sanaa base, killing one person and wounding 25.

One serviceman killed, another injured in Dagestan
A serviceman was killed and another injured when unknown assailants attacked them in Dagestan early Wednesday. The incident happened in the town of Buinaksk, about 40 kilometers southwest of the republic's capital Makhachkala.

Buinaksk was the site of a counterterrorism operation Tuesday. Nine suspected terrorists militants were killed during an armed siege at a home in the town, "including the odious leader Bammatkhan Sheikhov," according to the Russian Anti-Terrorism Committee.

The committee said a group led by Sheikhov had been responsible for the killing of civilians and law enforcement officials, including an attack on a military base near Buinaksk in 2010.

IED set off at Oregon war memorial
Someone ignited an improvised explosive device next to a war memorial cross that a prominent atheist group wanted removed from a public park in Coos Bay, Ore., an attorney for the city told Fox News.

An official statement on the city’s website called it an act of “criminal mischief” and stated that an ”unknown person(s) vandalized the memorial with an improvised explosive device.”

“We unfortunately are now to the point where explosive devices are being placed next to crosses,” said Hiram Sasser, director of litigation at the Liberty Institute.

The cross is still standing, but did sustain superficial damage, Coos Bay City Manager Roger Craddock told Fox News.

“Other than some charred marks on the cement structure there was no real damage to the memorial,” he said.

The blast startled local residents as well as dispatchers at the local police station, according to local news reports.

The cross had been donated to the city in 1972 but had become the center of controversy recently when the Freedom From Religion Foundation sent city officials a letter demanding they remove the cross.

“We have no objection to the veterans’ memorials,” FFRF attorney Rebecca Markert wrote to the city. “Our objection is to the message of endorsement of Christianity over other religions and non-religions.”

The FFRF is a Wisconsin-based group of communists freethinkers, progressives atheists and anarchists agnostics that has a history of targeting small towns and communities on issues regarding public displays of the Christian faith.

“These people will stop at nothing to intimidate communities to tear down their veterans memorials,” Sasser told Fox News. “Now the crazies are trying to blow one up.”

Police are working with explosives specialists from the Oregon State Police but so far they do not have any suspects.

Sasser said it’s fortunate no one was hurt by the blast. “This memorial is right next to the area where many children play,” Sasser told Fox News. “A child could have been killed or wounded by the IED exploding.”

In May the cross was vandalized. Someone wrote the word “Remove” in the middle of the cross along with a dotted line and arrow to indicate where to “cut.”

Sasser called on the FFRF to stop “fanning the flames of hostility toward veterans memorials.”

“There are consequences for fomenting hatred for what were once obscure veterans memorials,” he said. “The FFRF should immediately condemn this dangerous criminal act.”

India-Pakistan
Indian shelling along LoC kills woman, say Pakistani authorities
[Dawn] Pak authorities on Sunday accused the Indian army of cross-border shelling that killed a woman and maimed several other civilians in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmire.

"A woman was killed and at least seven other villagers were maimed when Indian forces fired shells from across the Line of Control (Loc)," said local government official Masood-ur-Rehman according to AFP.

One the other hand the BBC Urdu website had quoted Rehman, who is the Deputy Commissioner of Kotli district in Azad Jammu Kashmire, as saying that the shelling from the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC) had killed one woman and maimed nine other civilians.

The woman was the fifth Pak reported to have been killed in skirmishes across the LoC, which is the heavily militarised de facto border, since five Indian soldiers were killed on August 5.

Delhi blamed the August 5 killings on the Mighty Pak Army, but Islamabad denied any responsibility and has called for restraint and dialogue.

Shells fired by Indian troops struck villages in Nakyal sector, some 200 kilometres south of Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pak Kashmire, intermittently overnight, Rehman said.

Three houses had been damaged and one house and a car destroyed, he told AFP by telephone.

Local police chief Chaudhry Majid confirmed the casualties and said shelling from the Indian side was continuing.

Javed Budhanwi, an MP from the area, said that Indian shelling had caused panic among more than 50,000 local residents and warned that authorities may have to evacuate civilians to safer locations.

"It is difficult for people to move out at the moment as the shelling continues," Budhanwi told AFP.

Police official among two killed in Gilgit violence
[Dawn] A police official from an elite force and a civilian were rubbed out in seperate incidents of violence in Gilgit city, senior administration and police officials said.

"One police official and one civilian was killed by unidentified people," Deputy Commissioner Gilgit Shahbaz Nadim Bhatti said.

Earlier, Superintendent of Police, District Gilgit Muhammad Ali Zia said two police officials were hit by unknown people in Sakwar point of Gilgit city when they were returning to a police recruit training center.

"A motor bike chased the coppers and targeted them at Sakwar with pistols after which the attackers escaped," a junior police official said requesting not to be named.

The injured coppers were shifted instantly to the City Hospital Gilgit and health authorities operated upon them. However one police official departed this vale of tears, while another was at death's door.

Police identified the dear departed policeman as Sher Bahadur while the hospitalised policeman's name is Muhammad Bilal.

Within a short time of this incident, gunnies opened fire in old PIA Link Road shooting and injuring two people who were taken to DHQ Hospital where one of them later died.

The other injured person was being treated and doctors hoped he would recover as his condition was stable.

District Magistrate Shahbaz Nadeem Bhatti told Dawn.com that it was not possible to ascertain the motives behind the two incidents.

"We are looking into the incidents.. whether they are linked with ongoing terrorism in the country.

"we recieved a threat alert that government officials particularly coppers could be hit or there could be sectarian motivated violence," he said.

Bhatti added that Sherlocks were interrogating the matter.

He said raids are being conducted in the town for the potential suspects.

Earlier, security was tightened in the city as several new checkpoints were set up in the city while vehicles were being searched for weapons after a terror alert was conveyed from the Crisis Management Cell of the interior minister.

After the incidents of violence, security in the city was further beefed up as patrolling by law enforcement agencies was enhanced and police contingents were deployed at sensitive parts of the city.

Security forces claim seizure of 500 kgs explosives in Khyber
[Dawn] Pak paramilitary forces on Sunday raided a house in the northwestern tribal belt on the Afghan border and seized up to 500 kilograms of bomb-making material, according to an official.

The raid was carried out in Shahkas village near Jamrud in Khyber tribal region which is close to Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
, the capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
province.

At least 60 bags of potassium chlorate, mortar shells, timers, landmines, detonators, fuses, improvised bomb circuits and gel explosives were recovered from the basement of the house, Colonel Mohammad Naeem Sarwar told AFP.

A suspect was tossed in the slammer
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
during the raid, which was carried out after a roadside kaboom maimed three civilians in the area on Saturday, he said.

"The site was being used to make bombs for terrorist activities in the cities of Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore," Sarwar said.

Authorities last week said they had raided a boom-mobile factory in the southwestern city of Quetta, confiscating more than 100 tonnes of chemicals which had been used in recent attacks.

Iraq
Iraq attacks including Baghdad blasts kill 23
[Al Ahram] A series of attacks in Storied Baghdad
...located along the Tigris River, founded in the 8th century, home of the Abbasid Caliphate...
and north Iraq killed 23 people on Sunday amid a surge in violence that authorities have failed to stem despite wide-ranging operations targeting krazed killers.

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has vowed to press on with his anti-insurgent campaign, which has reportedly led to the arrest of hundreds of alleged Death Eaters and the killing of dozens.

But analysts and diplomats say authorities have failed to tackle the root causes the worst violence since 2008, namely anger in the Sunni Arab community over perceived ill treatment at the hands of the Shiite-led authorities and security forces.

Sunday's violence struck the Storied Baghdad area and in predominantly Sunni Arab towns and cities to the north, but the deadliest of the attacks hit the capital.

A series of bombings -- two boom-mobiles and a roadside kaboom -- went off between 4:00 pm (1300 GMT) and 5:30 pm (1430 GMT) in Storied Baghdad and its outskirts, killing nine people and wounding 22 others, officials said.

The blasts struck a variety of neighbourhoods across the city, and were the latest in a burgeoning trend of krazed killer attacks in the afternoon and evening in Storied Baghdad.

In previous years, deadly violence has typically been set off during morning rush hour when much of the capital is in gridlock.

Attacks on Sunday also hit Salaheddin, Nineveh and Diyala provinces to the north of Storied Baghdad.

The deadliest of those occurred near the town of Balad, where a boom-mobile killed five people and maimed 21 others, among them a senior judge who was the apparent target of the blast, according to police and a doctor.

In restive Nineveh province, gunnies opened fire on a van ferrying soldiers from Storied Baghdad to their unit in the scenic provincial capital djinn-infested Mosul, killing five of them, an army officer and a doctor said.

Also in Nineveh, three separate attacks by gunnies left a soldier and two civilians dead, including a member of the Shabak minority.

The 30,000-strong Shabak community mostly lives near Iraq's border with Turkey.

They speak a distinct language and largely follow a faith that is a blend of Shiite Islam and local beliefs. Shabaks are frequently targeted in attacks by krazed killers.

Two bombings at a house in Baquba, north of Storied Baghdad, killed a child and maimed nine others, according to police and medical sources.

Palestinians call off peace talks after clash
[USATODAY] A Paleostinian official said planned peace talks with the Israelis scheduled for Monday have been called off following a deadly clash in the West Bank.
They got their prisoner release. The purpose was accomplished.
Reads that way, doesn't it. Now the Israelis will have to round up the released goons all over again. Maybe a few of them will 'resist'...
Israeli soldiers killed three Paleostinians Monday in festivities during an arrest raid in the West Bank outside Jerusalem. The violence came as Israel and the Paleostinians were expected to begin rounds of peace talks, the first such meetings in five years.

The Paleostinian official said the Paleostinians decided to postpone Monday's meeting to protest the killings. He said the Paleostinians are also upset about an Israeli announcement on Sunday pushing forward with new settlement construction in east Jerusalem.

Clash leaves three dead in southern Philippines
Three people were killed in a clash between communist militants and Philippine security forces in Kiblawan town in Sarangani province.

Authorities said New People’s Army militants attacked a military detachment that had killed pro-government militia member Romeo Marila. Pursuing troops clashed with the militants and killed two gunmen who were identified as Anting Peayay and Victor.

Colonel Marcos Norman Flores, commander of the 1002nd Infantry Brigade said, “The pursuit operation was our measure to protect our own forces from further attacks. That detachment has been subject for harassment since early this year. We always abide in any undertakings in the communities in pursuit of peace and we will ensure that those who creates chaos will face the full force of the law."

Three former village leaders gunned down in southern Thailand
Three retired village leaders were gunned down in Yala province Saturday in an attack believed to have been carried out by separatist terrorists insurgents.

The attack happened in the morning when gunmen on the back of a pickup truck opened fire with automatic weapons at a tea shop. The victims, all elderly Muslim men, were identified as Chalee Samato, Harong Taba and Tuansoh Waba. A fourth man was injured. The gunmen also stole three pistols from their victims.

Police said a separatist group was probably responsible for the attack. Internal Security Operations Command's (Isoc) Fourth Region Forward Command spokesman, Col Pramote Promin, said, "We had intelligence indicating that insurgents were going to target teachers and soldiers, but we didn't expect them to attack villagers."

Two rubber tappers were also shot and injured while working in their plantation early Saturday.

Meanwhile, four soldiers and four villagers were injured when a bomb planted in a garbage bin was detonated at an intersection in the Sungai Kolok municipality area of Narathiwat province on Saturday evening.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syria: UN Inspectors 'Shot At By Snipers'
[NEWS.SKY] Weapons inspectors investigating an alleged chemical attack in Damascus have been shot at by snipers, a front man for the UN has said.

The team's lead vehicle was "deliberately shot at multiple times" as they left a government checkpoint during a visit to part of the city where hundreds of people were allegedly killed, Martin Nesirky told Sky News.

None of the inspectors, who were dressed in body armour, are believed to have been injured in the attack, which came after two mortar bombs landed close to their hotel.

"The inspectors are determined to carry out the mission they are mandated to carry out," Mr Nesirky said. "But it's obvious that all sides need to extend their co-operation so they can conduct this work safely."
Mr. Nesirky, without meaning to, just hit the nail on the head...
Mr Nesirky said it was not clear who was responsible for the sniper attack, although Bashar al Assad's regime blamed the bombings on rebel fighters.

After the shooting, the UN inspectors were able to change vehicles and are now meeting victims of the alleged chemical attack.

The Assad regime said the inspections in Zamalka and Ein Tarma districts will prove allegations that chemical weapons were used against civilians, including children, were "lies".

The opposition claimed 1,300 people were killed, while Doctors Without Borders said 355 people died in hospital from "neurotoxic" symptoms.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon said the people of Syria deserved to know the truth, adding: "We cannot allow impunity in what appears to be a grave crime against humanity."

#1  Might defeat the intended goal of the rebels if the UN inspectors were to discover that the alleged chemical weapons were delivered via homemade rockets vs Russian artillery shells.

To me, the line that makes sense that the Syrians got carried away with some of Saddam's extra nerve gas and tried to cover it up. They should have called in the UN right away. It would have crushed any sympathy the rebels might have locally and internationally if they were found to be the culprits. Instead, Pencilneck chose to deny the UN and try to destroy any evidence with artillery barrages.

Large arms shipment reaches Syrian rebels: Opposition
[Al Ahram] Gulf-based supporters have sent a 400-ton shipment of arms to Syria's outgunned rebels, one of the biggest to reach them in their two-year-old uprising, opposition sources said on Sunday.

The consignment - mostly ammunition for shoulder-fired weapons and anti-aircraft machine guns - came into northern Syria via the Turkish province of Hatay in the past 24 hours, and was already being handed out, the sources added.

One rebel officer told Rooters the flow of arms bound for rebels had increased since opposition groups accused the government of launching deadly chemical weapons attacks in Damascus on Wednesday.

"Twenty trailers crossed from Turkey and are being distributed to arms depots for several brigades across the north," said rebel official Mohammad Salam, who told Rooters he saw the weapons come over the border.

Syria's conflict, pitting mostly Sunni Mohammedan gunnies against Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Supressor of the Damascenes...
, whose Alawite sect follows an offshoot of Shi'ite Islam, has ignited sectarian tensions across the region.

Qatar and other Sunni-led Gulf states have backed the bad turbans, while Shi'ite power Iran remains one of Assad's main allies.

Rebel units operating in northern Syria range from moderate Islamists to hardline jihadists and include Liwa al-Islam (The Division of Islam), Sukur al-Sham (The Hawks of Syria), The Free Martyrs of Syria, Ahfad al-Rasul (The Grandsons of the Prophet) and Ahrar al-Sham (The Freemen of Syria).

Analysts say they have struggled to hold onto advances against Assad's Iranian and Russian-armed forces and his monopoly on air power.

A senior officer in the Gulf and Western-backed Supreme Military Council, an umbrella group for rebel units, said there had been an increase in rebel-bound arms shipments coming into Turkey, particularly since the reports of a chemical assault.

'Very little doubt' chemical weapons used in Syria: US
[Al Ahram] There is "very little doubt" that Syrian forces used chemical weapons against civilians in an attack outside Damascus, a senior US official said Sunday. The official told AFP that based on the reported number of victims and their symptoms, and US intelligence, "there is very little doubt at this point that a chemical weapon was used by the Syrian regime against civilians in this incident."

#1  Did the Syrian govt shoot them, or were they stored in rebel areas and hit by Syrian govt, or did rebels plant them sent set them off for propaganda value.

I think that is a valid question before the US shoots millions of dollars in cruise missiles, especially in an undeclared war. The pres acts unconstitutionally and the Congress sits on its collective a$$.

#6  Bush acted only after dozens of UN resolutions violated by Saddam. He also acted in concert with a significant international coalition....which by the way, included the Syrian Army.

#7  It has been reported that Israel heard comms from the Syrian Army - specifically the 4th AD. Israel was fast to ensure we knew it was a CW attack and not the first one.

Be that as it may, the videos are most certainly nerve agent. Something that would be ruled as a rate and escalation in depravity.

A death spiral, and a warning to dissidents.

From bad to worse, all surrounding Nations are barely able to absorb Refugees from such a nasty and Heart Breaking war.

Making that situation worse only calls forward the card that reads proceed with extreme caution, but only if the Naval maps are accurate.

I agree that CINC does need a way out of this thing, but again, it looks the same from here too... for this time.

Just stay silent like the Russians for now. With no anticipation becomes no value.

Maybe the CINC does not have his head in the Military game, or maybe this is actually far more complex on face value.

Things move so fast that the 72 Hour rule often goes by wayward when everyone wants everything right now. Spoiled brats.

This is not to be a hurriedly made decision like 20% of the US Economy was. No no. This is handle with care package... Unless those care packages are for the Troops called to do so.
