26 found dead in Guerrero state

A total of 21 unidentified individuals were found dead in a number of hidden graves in the southwestern Mexican state of Guerrero, according to Mexican news accounts.

A news report which appeared in the online edition of Animal Politico said that 21 bodies were recovered in Taxco de Alarcon municipality since Saturday night. A Mexican army unit received an anonymous tip about the mass grave, which was said to be near location called Puente Campuzano.

According to the report, the Associated Press originally reported Monday that 12 bodies were found Monday, nine men and three women, but later reports now say that the total is 21.

The Mexican news daily Reforma quoted Guerrero Procuraduría General de Justicia del Estado (PGJE) or attorney general spokesman, Iñaki Blanco, saying that some of the bodies were bone fragments, and that at least one municipal police agent's uniform was found. The mass grave includes at least two pits, or fosas.

A news account published last week said that a separate grave was found near Cajelitos 10 days ago, presumably in the municipality of Chilpancingo -- the state capital of Guerrero -- containing three men and two women. That grave has yet to be confirmed by official sources.

Taxco de Alarcon was the location in June of 2010 where 77 dead were found in a mining pit. At the time, then Guerrero governor Zeferino Torreblanca Galindo said the find was an example of the scope of the drug trafficking problem and an example of the cruelty of narcotraffickers.

Elsa's nephew, a doctor, was once kidnapped. She had to contribute to the ransom.

killed at least 12 persons and injured several others on Tuesday.

News reports said that the kabooms took place inside Shama cinema located in the Bacha Khan chowk area and there were more than 50 people present. The grenades were detonated in quick succession in the hall while people were watching a film. A report said that the cinema owners had been receiving threats and the police had asked them to increase security and install CCTV cameras.

This is the second attack on a cinema house in the city. Earlier on February 2, it was Picture House which was bombed, killing five persons. More than 30 people were maimed at the cinema located in Qissa Khawani bazaar. The blasts took place during a show of the film 'Ziddi Pakhtun'. Two hand grenades were hurled inside the cinema, which had at least a hundred people inside it.

Iraq
15 Iraqi soldiers die in attack on military post
[LATINO.FOXNEWS] At least 15 Iraqi soldiers were killed Tuesday in an attack on a military post located in the northern province of Nineveh.

The attackers, suspected of being linked to Al Qaeda, slit the throats of most of the troops and then fled the area, a security source in Nineveh told Efe.

After the pre-dawn attack, Iraqi army troops deployed in the zone and reestablished control of the base, launching a widespread sweep to try and capture the attackers, the source said, adding that the assault had the hallmarks of operations by Al Qaeda.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Arab Israeli Gets 15 Months for Training in Syria
[An Nahar] An Arab Israeli has been sentenced to 15 months in prison after being convicted of travelling to Syria and receiving training with the al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Nusra Front.

According to the court ruling seen by Agence La Belle France Presse on Tuesday, Abdel Kader al-Taleh, 27, from the Arab village of Taibe in northern Israel, was convicted of "entering an enemy territory" and "illegal training for combat."

But charges of "contact with a foreign agent" were dropped as part of a plea bargain, the ruling said.

He was placed in durance vile
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
by Israel's Shin Bet internal security service when he returned from Syria in July 2013.

According to the indictment, Taleh was approached by al-Qaeda sympathizers while he was studying pharmacology in Jordan in 2010-2011. In July last year, he traveled to Turkey and from there crossed into northern Syria.

There he made contact with Al-Nusra activists and spent three days in one of their training camps, where he received instruction in the use of weapons. But he decided not to stay and ended up going home.

In her ruling, Judge Shira Ben Shlomo noted the danger inherent in Arab Israelis volunteering for jihadist groups in Syria, where they "receive ideological and military training which could then be used for carrying out attacks on Israeli targets".

She also flagged the danger of Arab Israeli volunteers "sharing information" with Salafist tough guys fighting the Syrian government.

Last month, the privately-run Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center estimated that about 20 Arab Israelis had joined the rebels in Syria, as well as 30 Paleostinians from Gazoo and a handful from the West Bank.

Since the Syrian conflict erupted almost three years ago, Israeli security forces have arrested at least three Arab citizens on suspicion of fighting in Syria. Two were convicted last August and sentenced to 19 months in prison.

Southeast Asia
Six soldiers wounded in Mindanao clash
The Philippine military said six soldiers were wounded in clash with communist militants in southern Mindanao.

Capt. Alberto Caber said the fighting broke out in Digos City in Davao del Sur province. Caber said several members of the New People’s Army were thought to be killed or wounded in the fighting on Monday afternoon. He said, “We have six soldiers wounded in the battle and there could be more casualties on the enemy side."

The militants detonated a roadside bomb while troops were patroling a village, sparking a gun battle. Caber said villagers provided information to the military about the presence of gunmen extorting money from locals.

Lt. Gen. Ricardo Rainier Cruz III condemned the militants' continued use of landmines, saying, the NPA violated an accord that banned the use of landmines.

Security forces have launched a follow up operation on Tuesday against the militants who broke into smaller groups and fled to the hills.

Thai rangers seize insurgent mountain camp
[Bangkok Post] Military rangers on Monday said they had raided an operations base belonging to Runda Kumpulan Kecil (RKK) militants, seizing materials that could have been used to make at least 30 homemade bombs.

Troops from the 45th Ranger Regiment clashed with a group of RKK insurgents on Sunday afternoon and later seized their mountain camp. The camp consisted of 11 huts, one of which contained a military sand table believed to be used for planning attacks.

Intelligence reports said the camp was being used as a meeting place by key insurgency leaders active in Rangae, Chanae and Cho Airong districts of Narathiwat province.

Col Rungroj Anantato, commander of the regiment, said militants at the camp are thought to have been planning to launch attacks in the three southern border provinces on Feb 13, to avenge the death of 16 insurgents killed in a failed attack on a marine base on the same day last year. The slain insurgents included key insurgency suspect Maroso Chantrawadee.

Hizbullah Informs Army on Dormant Terrorist Networks
[An Nahar] Hizbullah has informed the Lebanese Army Intelligence on the details of dormant cells plotting terrorist attacks in Leb, al-Joumhouria newspaper reported on Tuesday.

"The party has a map on the locations of these dormant terrorist cells that are plotting dangerous bombings and its leadership has informed the Army Intelligence about it," the daily said.

The majority of these networks belong to al-Qaeda and are covering their presence in Leb through fictitious companies engaged in trade, it said.

Hizbullah has tossed in the calaboose

several snuffies but has not handed them over to the army, al-Joumhouria added.

The report said that Hizbullah and Amal leaderships have put a plan to pursue Takfiri

groups in Leb after the latest bombings that targeted their strongholds in Beirut's southern suburbs and the eastern Bekaa Valley.

Al-Joumhouria also quoted security officials as saying that the Army Intelligence was pursuing Lebanese, Paleostinian and Syrian suspects in southern Leb, the Bekaa and Beirut's southern suburbs.

The suspects have left their homes and the Army is seeking to know their whereabouts over fears that they could be jacket wallahs, the officials said.

Meanwhile,

al-Akhbar newspaper said Tuesday that a report about Hizbullah dismantling a cell belonging to The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant

was not true.

No such network was arrested in Beirut's southern suburbs in the past weeks, al-Akhbar said.

Rocket from Syria Hits Outskirts of Hermel
[An Nahar] A rocket from Syrian territories landed on Tuesday on the outskirts of the eastern Bekaa town of Hermel, a Hizbullah stronghold, media reports said.

However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
the state-run National News Agency reported that kaboom sounds heard in Hermel were caused by a raid carried out by Syrian planes inside Syria near the border region of al-Qaa in the northern Bekaa.

Hermel's Municipal Chief Sobhi Saqr denied in comments to Voice of Leb radio (93.3) that a blast rocked the town, pointing out that Syrian planes bombarded areas in the eastern mountain range on the Lebanese-Syrian border .

Hermel and other Bekaa areas were hit by several rockets in recent months, with Syrian rebels claiming most of the attacks, which they say are in retaliation to Hizbullah's military intervention in Syria.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Esquimeau village the snowball down Jack's back had finally melted......
security forces began fortifying its presence in Hermel by taking extraordinary measures inside the town and on its entrances.

The army erected checkpoints in the town to thoroughly inspect vehicles and checking the identification papers of passers-by.

The measures were taken by the army after residents demanded a comprehensive plan to prevent any new blast in the area.

him.

The suspect was transferred to Beirut for further investigations.

The news agency said that a surveillance camera set at the entrance of his house was confiscated.

NNA reported that al-Hassan has been under the surveillance of the security forces for several month over his fishy ties with wanted runaways.

LBCI later reported that al-Hassan was released.

Forty-five people were killed and 800 injured in the boom-mobile blasts that targeted the Sunni al-Taqwa and al-Salam mosques on August 23.

Governor Suspends Homs Evacuation for Day over 'Logistics' as U.N. Says Evacuees Detained, Questioned
[An Nahar] An operation to evacuate civilians from besieged rebel-held areas of Syria's third city Homs was suspended for a day on Tuesday because of "logistical problems," the provincial governor told Agence La Belle France Presse.

"Today, operations didn't take place for logistical and technical reasons," Homs governor Talal Barazi said, without elaborating.

"The evacuation of civilians and delivery of food aid will continue tomorrow (Wednesday) morning," he added.

Under a deal brokered by the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
, the Syrian Red Islamic Thingy and U.N. agencies launched an operation on Friday to evacuate civilians from the besieged Old City of Homs and deliver food and medicines.

An initial three-day truce was extended on Monday for another 72 hours, but deliveries and evacuations never got underway on Tuesday.

Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Standing Buffalo drew a bead on his old enemy and squeezed the trigger...
the U.N.'s refugee agency said that several hundred men evacuated from Homs have been detained for interrogation by government forces.

Melissa Fleming, spokeswoman for the UNHCR, told news hounds in Geneva that 336 male evacuees aged between 15 and 55 had been taken in for questioning.

A total of 42 were released, but the remainder were still in the hands of the authorities, she said.

They were being held at a school near Homs. UNHCR staff were at the building but not present during the interrogation sessions, Fleming said.

After the questioning, however, the aid workers were able to speak to the men, who said they wanted to be allowed to join the women and kiddies who have already been evacuated.

Opposition-held districts of Homs have been under siege for 600 days, facing daily bombardment and dwindling supplies of food and medicine.

The city was a hub of Arab Spring-inspired protests in March 2011 which were met with a crackdown by the regime of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Despoiler of Deraa...
, sending Syria tumbling into civil war.

Its symbolism as a birthplace of the revolt against Assad put it sharply in focus during a first round of peace talks in Geneva between the regime and rebels last month.

An agreement that the civilians could be evacuated and aid brought in was the only tangible result of the talks, a second round of which began Monday.

But the evacuation only got under way last week, after the government and opposition trade blame for the delays and then over violations of a U.N.-brokered truce in place to facilitate the operation.

The regime has said it was essential to interrogate men in order to weed out "terrorists" -- it says the revolt is fueled by foreign jihadists and Gulf money.

But the opposition raised fears that separating the men of Homs from women and kiddies could be a tactic to detain them.

The U.N.'s humanitarian coordination office said Tuesday that a total of 1,132 people had so far been evacuated from Homs, but did not say how many people were thought to remain in the besieged districts.

And U.N. children's agency UNICEF said that 400 young evacuees had been vaccinated against polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set...
-- the crippling disease has reared its head in Syria due to a collapse of the health system.

In addition, there were 20 pregnant women among the evacuees.

UNICEF said that people emerging from the besieged areas spoke of a daily ordeal of cold, hunger, filthy drinking water and bombardment.
