Afghanistan
27 Pakistani Missiles Fired Into Kunar After Trilateral Talks Begin
[Tolo News] Pak military personnel on Monday fired at least 27 missiles across the border into Afghanistan, coming just as trilateral talks between top Afghan, Pak and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
leaders meet in Kabul to discuss border security.

The Pak missiles were fired on the Sarkanoy District of eastern Kunar province
... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country.....
.

"On Monday, the Pak military fired 27 missiles on Sarkanoy district of Kunar province, the attack destroyed four houses but there were no human casualties," Kunar Police Chief General Sayed Habib Khaili told TOLOnews.

Direct hostilities between Afghanistan and Pakistain have heated up in recent years along the border the two countries share. The Durand Line, which divides the two South Asian nations, has been a point of contention for decades.

The commander of international forces, General Joseph Dunford, the Afghan Army Chief, Sher Mohammad Karimi, and his Pak counterpart, were all recently gathered in Kabul to discuss the security situation along the border.

Residents in Kunar and Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
provinces, which have suffered the brunt of the Pak aggressions, have criticized the Afghan government for not doing more to stop the attacks.

"I want the government to not get fooled by Pakistain like this," Nangarhar Provincial Council member Zabiullah Ezmarai said.

A number of politicians at Parliament in the capital have also shown concern about the attacks. The MPs accused the Afghan government of lacking the courage to take a firm stance against Pakistain.

"Attacks on our eastern regions and the statement of the Pak National Security advisor clarify Pakistain's stance toward Afghanistan," the head of Parliament's Commission for Internal Affairs, Mir Dad Nejrabi, said.

"Pakistain has always shown a willingness to cooperate with Afghanistan, but Pakistain has never desired for Afghan peole to live in peace," Second Senate Deputy Speaker Rafiullah Gul Afghan said.

All of the politicians who spoke on the subject Tuesday seemed to agree that Pakistain was pursuing a duplicitous policy toward Afghanistan, treating it as an ally while also subverting it.

"Pakistain still continues a double policy, meaning that the day Pak officials arrive in Afghanistan, the same day the Mighty Pak Army targets some region in kunar and along the border," Kabul MP Shukria Barakzai said.

Nevertheless, Afghan Border Police officials in the area have expressed a resilient hope in the trilateral talks. They said they think issues with Pakistain can be overcome through diplomacy and negotiations.

In recent weeks, some 43 missiles have been fired across the border into Kunar province, and over the past couple years, experts estimate that figure to be around 2,000 missiles.

Student Killed in Cairo University Clashes
[AnNahar] A student was killed and another maimed Tuesday when supporters of Egypt's ousted president Mohammed Morsi
...the former president of Egypt. A proponent of the One Man, One Vote, One Time principle, Morsi won election after the deposal of Hosni Mubarak and jumped to the conclusion it was his turn to be dictator...
and police clashed outside Cairo University, the health ministry said.

Engineering student Islam Mohammed was killed when he was hit by birdshot as the festivities erupted, it said.

Overnight, gunnies in a car fired at a group of police outside the capital's al-Azhar university, killing three and wounding nine. The attack came as pro-Morsi students protested at the university.

Student backers of Morsi have staged regular demonstrations on campuses as a police crackdown has weakened their ability to hold large street protests.

Morsi was tossed by former army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sissi in July last year after massive protests demanding the Islamist leader's resignation.

Sisi is now standing for president in the May 26-27 election which he is expected to win easily.

Algeria shuts Libya border
[MAGHAREBIA] Facing growing chaos next door, Algeria on Monday (May 19th) moved to close all border crossings with Libya.

Meanwhile,
...back at the chili cook-off, Chuck reached for the green sauce...
state energy firm Sonatrach repatriated its workers from Libya and halted production in the country. The decision came just three days after Algeria evacuated its diplomatic posts in Libya.

The Algerian army command also raised the security alert status along the Libyan border and tightened controls on the Tinalkoum and Debdab border crossings.

Gas pipeline blown up in Egypt's Sinai
[Iran Press TV] Unknown hard boyz have detonated a gas pipeline north of the restive Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.

The attack, which was carried out during the early hours of Tuesday in the city of el-Arish, caused no injuries.

The kaboom comes hours after three Egyptian soldiers were killed and several others injured when gunnies attacked a security checkpoint near al-Azhar University in the capital, Cairo. The attack was carried out near the university's dormitory in Nasr City on Monday night.

In recent months, hard boyz have repeatedly targeted pipelines in the region.

Tuareg fighters free 30 hostages in Mali
[Iran Press TV] Tuareg fighters have released 30 hostages kidnapped in a deadly siege in the north of Mali.

The hostages were delivered to UN peacekeepers after being kidnapped in a raid on a local governor's office in the town of Kidal on Saturday, during which eight non-combatants were killed.

"We have just taken back around 30 hostages. They are in not bad condition. Two are very tired," an official from MINUSMA, the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
peacekeeping force in Mali, said on Monday.

Mali's Prime Minister Moussa Mara said on Sunday that the country is "at war" in Kidal. Recent festivities between Tuareg members and the Malian army has left dozens of people dead.

"...We will mobilize the resources to fight this war," Mara said.

Chaos broke out in Mali after President Amadou Toumani Toure was toppled in a military coup on March 22, 2012. The coup leaders said they mounted the coup in response to the government's inability to contain the Tuareg rebellion in the north.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
in the wake of the coup d'état, the Tuareg fighters took control of the entire northern desert region, but the Ansar Dine fighters then pushed them aside and took control of the region.

Nigeria hit by new car bomb attack, 46 dead
[DAWN] Twin boom-mobileings on Tuesday killed at least 46 in central Nigeria in the latest in a series of deadly blasts that will stoke fears about security despite international help in the fight against Boko Haram

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan
... 14th President of Nigeria. He was Governor of Bayelsa State from 9 December 2005 to 28 May 2007, and was sworn in as Vice President on 29 May 2007. Jonathan is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). He is a lover of nifty hats, which makes him easily recognizable unless someone else in the room is wearing a neat chapeau...
swiftly condemned the attack in the central city of Jos, calling it a "tragic assault on human freedom" and condemning the perpetrators as "cruel and evil".

"President Jonathan assures all Nigerians that (the) government remains fully committed to winning the war against terror and... will not be cowed by the atrocities of enemies of human progress and civilisation," his office said.

Forty-five people were also injured in the attack where improvised bombs were hidden in a truck and a minibus, according to the military.

Most of the victims were women, Pam Ayuba, front man for Plateau state governor Jonah Jang, said, while the emergency services said their workers were caught up in the second blast as they attended victims from the first.

Plateau, of which Jos is the capital, falls in Nigeria's so-called Middle Belt, where the mainly Christian south meets the Moslem-majority north.

The state and its religiously divided capital have seen deadly sectarian festivities in the past as well as attacks from Boko Haram bully boys.

The deadly strike and a suicide car kaboom that killed four in the northern city of Kano on Sunday will raise questions about the government's grip on the country's security.

The Kano bombing in a predominantly Christian neighbourhood of the ancient city and commercial hub has previously been hit by myrmidons, although a political motive has not been ruled out.

There was no immediate indication of who was responsible for the latest attacks and the police in Kano said they had tossed in the clink

two men, but the Boko Haram insurgency is Nigeria's most pressing security issue.

The turbans grabbed credit for an April 14 car kaboom on a bus station in a suburb of the capital Abuja which killed 75.

They are also suspected of carrying out a copy-cat bombing in the same location on May 1 which left 19 dead.

Two Arrested over Bombing in Nigeria's Kano

in connection with a suicide boom-mobileing in the northern Nigerian city of Kano that killed four, police said on Tuesday.

"Two suspects are now in jug in connection with Sunday's bombing in Sabon Gari," Kano police front man Musa Magaji Majia told Agence La Belle France Presse.

Majia said the pair were arrested by people at a bus station in the city that was previously attacked by Boko Haram

gunnies after they overheard them talking about the bombing.

"They were apprehended and the cop shoppe there alerted, which led to their arrest and transfer to the police headquarters," he added.

The authorities have not said who was responsible for the blast, which destroyed the Middle Road area of a predominantly Christian district at about 10:00 pm (2100 GMT) on Sunday.

The area is a popular entertainment haunt because of its many roadside bars and restaurants.

Boko Haram, which is waging a violent insurgency in northern Nigeria, is suspected of setting off a series of bombs in July last year.

But others have suggested a political motive to the bombing after the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) routed the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in local elections Saturday.

27 killed as Shia rebels attack army in north Yemen
[Pak Daily Times] At least 27 people were killed when Yemeni Shia Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is "God is Great, Death to America", Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews" ...
rebels launched attacks on an army position in northern Yemen on Tuesday, military officials said.

The attack targeted an army position in the western outskirts of the northern province of Amran, some 50 km north of the capital Sanaa. The attack sparked hours-long shootout between the soldiers and the Iranian catspaws. At least 20 soldiers and seven armed rebels were killed, several military officials and medics said. The Armored 310 Brigade's commander Mohammed al-Wali was among the dead, said the officials. Dozens from both sides were maimed.

Hundreds of the murderous Moslems, most of them coming from the Shiite rebel northern stronghold province of Saada, were seen besieging the armored 310 Brigade in Al-Jumaimah Mountain, which overlooks Amran city. According to the residents, the gunshots were still heard and the Iranian catspaws spread over the city of Amran and closed its main entrances. Officials at the defense ministry said the government army presence in Amran has been decreased as hundreds of soldiers of the armored 310 Brigade in Amran, as well as the Al-Majd Brigade in southern part of Saada, have been deployed early this month to join the three-week government offensive in southern Yemeni provinces against al-Qaeda murderous Moslems.

British man convicted on terrorism offenses in Syria
[Iran Press TV] A British man has become the first person in the United Kingdom to be convicted of Syria-related terrorism offenses for arranging to travel to the strife-torn country to join al-Qaeda-affiliated faceless myrmidons fighting the Damascus government.

Mashudur Choudhury was found guilty of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorist acts on Tuesday after a 12-day trial at Kingston Crown Court in London.

The 31-year-old managed to travel to Syria via Turkey last October alongside four other men. He then attended a terror training camp that taught him how to use firearms before starting his journey back home later that month.

But Choudhury, who is from Portsmouth, was jugged
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
and then charged under section five of the Terrorism Act 2006 upon his return to the UK at Gatwick Airport.

The men allegedly decided to go to Syria after another associate, Iftekhar Jaman, 29, had travelled to fight with the al-Qaeda-linked and terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant
... the current version of al-Qaeda in Iraq, just as blood-thirsty and well-beloved as the original...
(ISIL) earlier last year.

The total number of British participants in the Syrian conflict is estimated to be in hundreds, with as many as 20 thought to have died in the fighting.

The British government has been struggling to find ways to deter young people from the UK travelling to Syria to fight and has launched a campaign urging the families of people planning to go to intervene and stop them.

Charles Farr, the Home Office's terror chief, warned recently that Britons travelling to Syria represented "the biggest challenge" to the British security services. Security officials are worried that some fighters returning home may have been radicalized and could be planning attacks in Britannia.

Iraq
11 Soldiers Killed in Iraq Attacks
[AnNahar] Attacks north of Storied Baghdad killed 11 Iraqi soldiers on Tuesday, the latest in a protracted surge in bloodshed just a day after officials announced results from April's parliamentary election.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki
... Prime Minister of Iraq and the secretary-general of the Islamic Dawa Party....
, who is seeking a third term in office, has been held responsible by critics for the deterioration in security but he has blamed external factors such as the civil war in neighboring Syria.

In Tuesday's deadliest attack, gunnies opened fire on a bus transporting soldiers from the restive northern town of Suleiman Bek, according to local official Talib Mohammed al-Bayati.

Eight soldiers were killed and four were maimed, he said. The soldiers had been heading off on leave at the time.

Elsewhere, a vehicle rigged with explosives was set off by a suicide kaboomer in Salaheddin province, killing three soldiers and wounding seven.

Violence in Iraq is at its highest level since 2008, when the country was just emerging from a brutal Sunni-Shiite confessional war that killed tens of thousands of people.

The authorities have trumpeted wide-ranging operations against snuffies and say that external factors are responsible for the surge in bloodshed.

But analysts and diplomats say the Shiite-led authorities must also do more to reach out to disgruntled minority Sunnis in order to undermine support for militancy.

Jewish Youth Pose As Young Women To Bait Arabs
[Ynet] Jerusalem teens indicted for beating Arab clerk targeted by WhatsApp and Facebook group called 'Jews Against Mescegenation' for 'good, clean work'
Vicious idiots. Not really surprising, though -- this is why making peace before it gets to this point is considered by the wise to be a good idea.
Four young men accused of posing as an attractive Jewish woman on Facebook with the purpose of baiting Arab men were indicted recently at the Jerusalem District Court. The Arab victims believed that they were meeting an interested young woman, but were instead met with beatings from the boys.

The youths were caught by police after appearing on the security camera at the site of one of their alleged attacks.

Haim Gamlieli, 24, was the alleged leader of the gang and according to the indictment against him, managed several groups on WhatsApp as well as a Facebook page over the last several months, under the title "Jews Against Miscegenation".

"We are a very right-wing group made up of a few friends who hate the fact that Arabs hunt Jewish girls," Gamlieli wrote in the WhatsApp group using the fake name "Yossi Cohen".

Gamlieli requested that members report instances of Arab men making sexual advances upon Jewish women to the group. A Facebook page was also created where "Yossi Cohen" appeared again, advertising the name and phone number of the Arabs implicated by reports in the WhatsApp group.

"The guy's name is Adam from Abu Gosh and his phone number is *********," wrote Gamlieli on one such Facebook post, "So whoever cares about Israeli women should do good, clean work."

Another of the Facebook posts was slightly more specific in its insinuation, suggesting that group members call the accused Arab to harass him verbally. However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
Gamlieli's goals eventually gained a violent edge.

"Then we opened a Facebook profile under a Jewish, female name with a picture of an attractive girl and she is attracting a lot of Arabs," Gamlieli wrote to his group. "We arrange a place, then these terrorists meet us and besides a beating, they don't get anything."

The other boys accused of carrying out the attack are all 16 to 17 years old. They admitted to taking part in the beating of the Arab who worked at a luggage supply shop where Gamlieli had once threatened a man. Gamlieli then named him on his Facebook page and posting his picture.

The boys identified the Arab and said that their motivation for the attack was simply that, "the luggage salesman is an Arab."

The man they assaulted told Ynet, "36 years I'm here in this neighborhood. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened. No one has ever attacked me or cursed at me."

"A few days before they beat me, they came to the store and told me not to speak to the customers. I said that I work here and that I have to. Then they came the second time," he continued.

"They came behind my back and gave me a big hit in the back. I turned around to see who it was and I tried to protect myself. Three attacked me and beat me inside the store. I tried to get away from them. I wanted to get up from the floor, but I couldn't."

"People looked at them from outside and no one came to help me. My body and my heart are still in pain when people go by me and point at me."

The victim added, "I don't know why they did this to an old man, what's the difference between a Jew and an Arab? I hope that they will be punished and that others will learn not to do these kinds of things."

"They caused me a lot of harm. I'm a grandfather with grandchildren and young men come to beat me... it's not easy. I'll remember this all of my life."

Jordan redeploys soldiers along border with Syria
[Iran Press TV] The Jordanian military is redeploying its forces along the kingdom's lengthy and mostly non-existent border with neighboring Syria in light of the worsening security situation on the frontier.

The London-based Arabic-language newspaper al-Hayat, citing Jordanian sources, reported on Monday that the military high command has put strict limits on leave for its soldiers and officers who are normally stationed along the frontier with Syria, especially those from units near important areas.

A Jordanian security official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the targets appeared to have been foreign-sponsored faceless myrmidons who escape from fighting with government forces in southern Syria.

On April 16, Jordanian warplanes struck and destroyed a number of vehicles that reportedly attempted to cross border from Syria.

A Jordanian security source, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, said the targeted vehicles had machine guns mounted on them and appeared to belong to Syria-based faceless myrmidons seeking refuge from the battle against Syrian army in southern Syria.

"External Influences

From 1969 to 1976, the People's Republic of China provided material support to the New People's Army. Following the cessation of China's support, the NPA went through a five-year period of weakness. By the early 1980s, NPA had found new funding sources, (extortion, revolutionary taxes, communist parties in Western Europe, church-based groups in Canada, Norway, and Switzerland, and the Japan Communist Party) [10] and was rebuilding. Given China's South China sea belligerency, I wonder if China isn't still covertly funding the NPA.

The village of Kfar Zeita, in the central province of Hama 125 miles (200 km) north of Damascus, has been the epicentre of what activists and medics say is a chemical weapons campaign in which chlorine gas canisters are dropped out of helicopters. Damascus denies that forces loyal to Assad have used chlorine or other more poisonous gases and blames all chemical attacks on rebel forces fighting them in the three-year-old uprising.
Somebody is telling the truth, perhaps.
Activists from Kfar Zeita said on Facebook that Abdullah Qadour al-Hamawi, a disabled 14-year-old, was killed in the latest attack on Monday.

#1  Arab Values. Use on your own people, especially if its a Chlorine gas grenade dropped out of a helicopter. Blame it on the Arabs on the other side. Wave the bloody shirt and do a little dance. PBUH. Hell, they are Moslems, why not?

Stick the crippled boy out there and who cares. He's a shiite or a Sunni or maybe even a Khajirite or a woofwoof. Those nasty ( fill in the blanks ) did it. The "other" Moslems who ever they are ...call the UN. Use it on your OWN cripples and old ladies and then...point the finger.

On the positive side, its costing Iran a lot of money and they are killing EACH OTHER.

Syrian Army Missile Kills 23, Including 8 Kids
[Ynet] A surface-to-surface missile fired by the military has slammed into an impoverished residential area in a rebel-held town in the north, killing 23 people, including eight children, Syrian activists said Tuesday.

A local activist who uses the name Abu al-Hassan said that the attack on the town of Marea took place overnight, while people were sleeping in their homes. He says that among the 23 killed was a family of 10 people, including eight children.

Al-Hassan says he wasn't aware of any fighting taking place in the area. The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported the attack on Marea.

Saudi FM Rejects Candidacy of Aoun, Fears 'Hidden Intentions'

for the presidency, expressing fear over his "hidden intentions."

Informed Lebanese sources told As Safir newspaper published on Tuesday that Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal informed local and foreign officials that he refuses to adopt the candidacy of Aoun.

"We cannot forget his history... A consensual character cannot be made in one day," sources quoted al-Faisal as saying.

He voiced concern over Aoun's "hidden intentions regarding the Lebanese national pact if he was elected as a head of state," stressing that a consensual president shouldn't be affiliated in either the March 8 or 14 alliances.

Aoun continuously said that he will not announce his candidacy for the presidency if there was no political consensus on him.

Sources, however, told the daily that al-Faisal's stance doesn't necessarily reflect the kingdom's stand as Saudi Arabia welcomes the rapprochement between al-Mustaqbal

For his part, Saudi Ambassador to Leb Ali Awadh Asiri said in comments published in al-Liwaa that the "kingdom doesn't interfere in a Lebanese local affair."

"The Lebanese should act and we hope that a consensual president, who adopts the Baabda declaration and dissociation policy, would be elected."

The diplomat continuously denied that his country is intervening in local Lebanese affairs, ruling out any contacts between Riyadh and Hariri regarding the presidential poll.

Army Patrol Comes under Attack in Tripoli, 8 Soldiers Wounded
[AnNahar] Eight soldiers were maimed at dawn Tuesday when their patrol came under an armed attack in the northern city of Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, the military announced.

It said in a communique that soldiers were carrying out raids to arrest the assailants.

The gunnies opened heavy gunfire and attacked the military patrol with rockets in the area of al-Tabbaneh at 1:30 am, prompting the army to retaliate, said the communique.

Eight soldiers, including an officer, were maimed in the assault, it added.

Voice of Leb radio (100.5) identified the head of the network that attacked the army as Khaled al-Naaman.

He was injured when the soldiers responded to the sources of fire and was taken to the area of the Bazaar, it said.

The army and security forces implemented a security plan in Tripoli last month after several rounds of fighting left scores of people, including soldiers, dead and injured.

The gunbattles in the two impoverished neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen are linked to the civil war in Syria.

Bab al-Tabbaneh's residents are Sunni and back the rebels in the neighboring country but Jabal Mohsen is mostly inhabited by Alawites, the sect of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

Army arrests Iraqi terror suspect, eight soldiers wounded in Tripoli
[Beirut Daily Star] The Lebanese Army tossed in the calaboose
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
Tuesday a wanted Iraqi national on charges of terrorism in Beirut's southern suburbs, a statement from the military said.

Imad Fawzi Ali Saedi was arrested in the Haret Hreik neighborhood while driving an unlicensed vehicle, according to the Army.

It added that he was wanted by the authorities for taking part in "terrorist" activities.

Saedi was promptly handed over to the judiciary, the Army said.

According to an Army source, Saedi is a "global terrorist," and the military had already gathered significant information about his illicit activities.

Saedi confessed to having been involved in terrorist activity in Syria, including a number of kabooms, the source added.

"There are fears that he might have been planning terrorist activities in Leb," the source told The Daily Star.

Also Tuesday, eight Lebanese soldiers, including a lieutenant, were maimed when their vehicle came under attack in the northern city of Tripoli

overnight, security sources and the military said.

The sources told The Daily Star that gunnies fired machine guns and a rocket-propelled grenade at an Army unit carrying out raids for wanted suspects in the Tripoli neighborhood of Bab al-Tabbaneh.

An Army statement said the soldiers were maimed when a military patrol came under machine gun and rocket fire in Bab al-Tabbaneh at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The security sources identified the maimed officer as Lt. Hasan Awada Khaled al-Naaman.

The Army was carrying out a raid at the home of Khaled Jammal al-Rai in Jihad Street. Rai has several arrest warrants out against him and is accused of shooting at a number of Alawite residents of Tripoli over the last few months.

An Army tank caught on fire and was destroyed in the attack, which took place near Al-Nasiri Mosque on Syria Street, which separates Bab al-Tabbaneh from its traditional rival neighborhood of Jabal Mohsen.

The militia commander who led the attack against the Army was maimed in the ensuing exchange of fire, which led to material damage in the area.

The Army managed to arrest Rai's maternal uncle.

Military Expert Defuses Grenade in Rmeileh Residential Area
[AnNahar] A military expert defused on Tuesday a grenade found in a residential neighborhood in the Shouf town of Rmeileh, the army and the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said the grenade was attached to a detonator and placed near a gasoline gallon.

But the army said in a communique that the device was found inside a small container that was filled with a flammable material.

Voice of Leb radio (93.3) said the bomb was discovered under a vehicle parked near a residential building that is located next to the road that leads to the center of Rmeileh.

The town's municipal chief told VDL that the car's owner is a resident. He did not reveal his identity.

Security forces blocked the old seaside road between Jiyyeh and Rmeileh when the expert defused the grenade.

#1  If he had only been driving a Citroën without legal papers, of course they would have sent him on his way. But the combination of pretension and illegality? Intolerable!
