Taliban Weapon Caches Seized in Ghazni and Logar
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
(NDS) has seized three weapon catches of Taliban gunnies in Ghazni and Pashtun-infested Logar provinces.

A statement issued by the NDS states that during special operations one weapon cache was seized in Andar District of Ghazni province and two others were seized in Baraki Barak and Mohammad Aghe Districts of Pashtun-infested Logar province.

Statement adds that 250 Kilograms of explosives materials, 70 different types of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), 42 rounds of light and heavy weapons, 140 explosive capsules and other terrorist materials were discovered from these caches.

NDS statements usually do not contain the exact date of the incident but they issue statements about recent achievements.

Because of an increase of Taliban activities in Ghazni province that is bordering Pashtun-infested Logar in the north-east, the security of this province is weakening.

Report: 151 terror operatives killed during Egyptian operation in Sinai

[Ynet] Sources in the northern Sinai Peninsula reported Saturday that 151 terror operatives have been killed as a result of a three-day-long operation carried out by the Egyptian army, according to a report by the Al-Yawm al-Sab Arabic newspaper.

According to the report, 47 of the casualties are active members and considered senior terrorist members by the Egyptian security services. Twenty-two of them are Egyptian nationals and 25 are foreign citizens.
Half foreigners? Would that mean Gazans, or is "Al Qaeda in the Sinai" become the latest romantic jihadi destination, now that Iraq/Syria have become a good deal more dangerous for the jihad tourist than heretofore?

The Egyptian army killed some 25 IS-affiliated jihadists in the Sinai Peninsula on Friday, according to a report by Israel Radio.

The army carried out several Arclight airstrikes in the region, targeting members of the Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis group with its Apache helicopters.

Clashes between Islamists and Egyptian troops broke out after a large attack last Thursday, when jihadists targeted security forces with rockets and a boom-mobile in North Sinai province in simultaneous attacks claimed by an affiliate of the Islamic State

Last week's attacks were the deadliest since October 2014 when 30 soldiers were killed and scores maimed in simultaneous assaults.

The Islamic State group's Egyptian affiliate, Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, grabbed credit for those assaults, saying on Twitter that it had "executed extensive, simultaneous attacks in the cities of el-Arish, Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah."

The organization in November pledged allegiance to IS, which has captured large chunks of territory in Syria and Iraq.

US accuses 6 immigrants of helping Islamic State
[IsraelTimes] Bosnian nationals allegedly sent money to myrmidon group in Syria as well as to al-Qaeda in Iraq

Six Bosnian immigrants have been accused of sending money and equipment to Death Eaters overseas, including fighters with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group and al-Qaeda in Iraq, the US attorney's office announced Friday.

An indictment unsealed Friday in St. Louis said the defendants donated money themselves and in some cases collected funds from others in the US and sent the donations oversees. It says two of the defendants used some of the money to buy US military uniforms, firearms accessories, tactical gear and other equipment, which was shipped to people in Turkey and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
who forwarded the supplies to terrorists.

The supplies and money eventually made their way to fighters in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere, according to the indictment. Money also was sent to support family members of people fighting in Iraq and elsewhere, the indictment says. All of the defendants knew where the money and supplies were going, the indictment says.

The indictment alleges the conspiracy began no later than May 2013 and that the defendants used email, phones and social media websites including Facebook to communicate using coded words, such as "brothers," "lions" and "Bosnian brothers."

All six people who are charged are natives of Bosnia who were living in the US legally. Three are naturalized citizens; the other three had either refugee or legal resident status, according to the US attorney's office.

The indictment names Ramiz Zijad Hodzic, 40, his wife, Sedina Unkic Hodzic, 35, and Armin Harcevic, 37, all of St. Louis; Nihad Rosic, 26 of Utica, New York; Mediha Medy Salkicevic, 34, of Schiller Park, Illinois; and Jasminka Ramic, 42 of Rockford, Illinois.

All face charges of conspiring to provide material support and resources to Death Eaters and with providing material support to terrorists. Rosic and Ramiz Hodzic are also charged with conspiring to kill and maim people in a foreign country.

The indictment says that last July, Rosic tried to board a flight from New York to Syria to join the fight.

The US attorney's office said five of the defendants have been locked away
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
; the sixth is overseas, but the Justice Department would not say exactly where.

Online court records do not list defense attorneys for any of the defendants. According to court records, the Hodzics had a first appearance before a US magistrate judge in St. Louis on Friday and the court said it would appoint attorneys for them.

In a news release announcing the charges, the US attorney's office said charges of conspiring to provide material support and providing material support carry penalties ranging up to 15 years in prison. Conspiring to kill and maim people in a foreign country carries a penalty of up to life in prison.
Update at 10:20 ET:

Mediha Medy Salkicevic, a 34-year-old mother of four from the Chicago suburb of Schiller Park, was incarcerated

by the FBI on Friday. Like the other defendants, she's charged with conspiring to provide material support to forces of Evil and providing material support to groups designated by the US as foreign terrorist organizations, including the Islamic State group and an al-Qaeda-affiliated group known as the Nusra Front. If convicted, she could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000 on each charge.

Salkicevic, wearing an orange jail uniform, spoke only to confirm that she understood the charges.

SSP-West Azfar Mahesar told Dawn that a police team was taking the suspect to Orangi Town's Altaf Nagar to carry out a raid on a hideout of his other accomplices late on Thursday night. He claimed that as soon as the police arrived at the hideout, gunnies fired at the police and the bullets hit a policeman and the held suspect.

The SSP said that the suspect was handcuffed when he was killed in firing.

The maimed policeman, who suffered a bullet wound in the head, and the body of the dear departed were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Everyone involved in the gun attack on the police team that killed the held suspect managed to escape.

"Most of the killings took place on sectarian grounds," added the SSP. He said that the suspect was associated with a 'political party' until 2010, but later joined a proscribed sectarian organization.

ATC indicts Sufi Mohammad in sedition case
[DAWN] An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
on Saturday indicted chief of the banned Tehrik Nifaz-e-Shariah Mohammadi (TNSM
...Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (Movement for the Enforcement of Islamic Law) is a Pak militant group whose objective is to enforce their definition of Sharia law in Pakistain whether anybody wants it or not. It was founded by Sufi Muhammad in 1992, and was banned by President Musharraf in January, 2002 after Sufi dispatched several thousand yokels to Afghanistan to fight the infidel and ended up with most of them killed or captured and held for ransom. In 2007 TNSM took over Swat, which shows how well the banning worked. TNSM is the Pony League of Islamic militancy..
) Maulana Sufi Mohammad for sedition over a speech at Grassy Ground Swat
...a valley and an administrative district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistain, located 99 mi from Islamabad. It is inhabited mostly by Pashto speakers. The place has gone steadily downhill since the days when Babe Ruth was the Sultan of Swat...
in Feb 2009 when the government had made a deal with him for restoration of peace in Malakand region.

The hearing of the case was held in Peshawar's Central Jail.

During the hearing, the court charged the TNSM chief for treason over his speech against democracy and state at Grassy Ground in Swat where he had termed democracy and the then-government as un-Islamic and unconstitutional.

Sufi Mohammad is the father-in-law of outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban chief Mullah Fazlullah
...son-in-law of holy man Sufi Mohammad. Known as Mullah FM, Fazlullah had the habit of grabbing his FM mike when the mood struck him and bellowing forth sermons. Sufi suckered the Pak govt into imposing Shariah on the Swat Valley and then stepped aside whilst Fazlullah and his Talibs imposed a reign of terror on the populace like they hadn't seen before, at least not for a thousand years or so. For some reason the Pak intel services were never able to locate his transmitter, much less bomb it. After ruling the place like a conquered province for a year or so, Fazlullah's Talibs began gobbling up more territory as they pushed toward Islamabad, at which point as a matter of self-preservation the Mighty Pak Army threw them out and chased them into Afghanistan...
.

Last year in November, an ATC in Peshawar had acquitted Sufi Mohammad and around 30 of his associates in two terrorism cases.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
he continued to be behind bars for facing two more cases -- one of which is the sedition case in which he was indicted today.

ISIL burns 16 Iraqis to death for not pledging allegiance
[Iran Press TV] Members of the ISIL Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorist group have burned to death sixteen people in Iraq's violence-ridden northern city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
Local official Mowaffaq Hamid al-Azawi said on Friday that the ISIL members executed the victims in the western al-Islah neighborhood of the city, located some 400 kilometers (248 miles) north of the capital, Baghdad, after the men refused to pledge allegiance to the terrorist group's leader, Ibrahim al-Samarrai aka His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
, Arabic-language Karbala news agency reported.

Azawi further described Mosul as a big open-air prison, where residents are subjected to various kinds of torture and are suffering at the hands of the ISIL.

He added that some scholars in the city even distort religious principles to serve the ISIL's interests.

The development came on the same day as the ISIL murderous Moslems immolated three civilians in the town of Hit, located about 140 kilometers (85 miles) west of Baghdad, after accusing them of collaborating with the Iraqi security forces.

The brutal executions are similar to the one carried out against Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh, who was captured and held by the Lions of Islam as a hostage. On February 3, the ISIL posted a video online showing the Takfiri Lions of Islam setting the airman on fire.

Baghdad Booms Bag at least 37
Baghdad - Ahead of Baghdad ending a decade-old nightly curfew, bombs exploded across the Iraqi capital on Saturday, killing at least 37 people in a stark warning of the dangers still ahead in this country torn by the Daesh group.

The deadliest bombing happened in the capital’s New Baghdad neighbourhood, where a suicide bomber detonated his explosives in a street filled with hardware stores and a restaurant, killing 22 people and wounding at least 45, police said.

“The restaurant was full of young people, children and women when the suicide bomber blew himself up,” witness Mohamed Saeed said. “Many got killed.”

After the blast, bloody water mixed with olives and other debris from the restaurant as authorities tried to clean.

A second attack happened in central Baghdad’s popular Shorja market, where two bombs some 25 metres apart exploded, killing at least 11 people and wounding 26, police said. Another bombing at the Abu Cheer outdoor market in southwestern Baghdad killed at least four people and wounded 15, police said.

Hospital officials confirmed the casualty figures.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks, though the Daesh group has launched attacks on Baghdad in the past.

The attacks came as Iraq prepared to lift its nightly midnight-to-5am curfew on Sunday. The curfew largely has been in place since 2004, in response to the growing sectarian violence that engulfed Iraq after the US-led invasion a year earlier.

There was no immediate comment on Saturday from Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi, who announced the end of the curfew on Thursday by decree. He also ordered that streets, long blocked off for security reasons, reopen for traffic and pedestrians.

Iraqi officials repeatedly have assured that the capital is secure, despite militant groups occasionally attacking Baghdad’s Shia-majority neighbourhoods.
Update from Ynet at 10:50 ET:
The deadliest of Saturday's bombings happened in the capital's New Baghdad neighborhood, where a jacket wallah detonated his explosives in a street filled with hardware stores and a restaurant, killing 22 people, police said. The Islamic State group later grabbed credit for the attack, saying the bomber targeted Shiites, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, a U.S.-based terrorism monitor.

IDF soldiers open fire on vehicle that tries to hit them near Bethlehem
IDF soldiers opened fire on a Palestinian vehicle that attempted to run over soldiers near Bethlehem in the West Bank on Sunday.

The soldier's recognized the vehicle, which came from the direction of the village of Al-Khader, accelerating toward them at a checkpoint.

The soldiers then opened fire, successfully hitting the vehicle. The car sped away and the IDF was searching the area for suspects.

No soldiers were injured in the incident.

#1  Now, I have a high opinion of the IDF and occasionally send them pizza (pizzaidf.org) but they are not police. I would think that any car army fires on shouldn't be able to drive away or dodge or do anything except maybe explode and burn for a while.

#3  It said they were manning a checkpoint, so they should have had a Mk-19 or at least an M2HB there. Even a underbarrel grenade launcher would have helped though I'm a little dubious that most people are going to be able to hit a moving car with that.

Explosion rocks Gaza in apparent assassination attempt
[IsraelTimes] Vehicle of senior Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, official blown up by Paleostinian assailants in sign of increasing instability in the Strip

The vehicle of a senior Hamas official went kaboom! Friday in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gazoo Strip, injuring a civilian. The official, Sami al-Hams, was not maimed in the incident, the Paleostinian al-Quds news station reported.

Initial reports suggested that Paleostinian assailants deliberately targeted al-Hams and that they placed explosive charges beneath his car.

In late January, person or persons unknown blew up the car of a Hamas security official in Gazoo, in a sign of increasing instability in the Paleostinian enclave. Witnesses said the car belonged to Helmi Khalaf, administrative and financial manager of the Hamas-run military police. It was unclear who carried out that alleged attack.

A series of kabooms in November targeted officials from Fatah, Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas

Observers have warned of the dangers of Hamas losing control inside Gazoo to more radical Islamists including Salafists

Three NPA leaders rounded up in Mindanao
Three leaders of the New People's Army were arrested in separate operations by Philippine security forces last Friday. Two of the communist leaders were nabbed in Davao del Sur while the other was apprehended in Bukidnon.

Lt. Vergel Lacambra said a joint military and police operation resulted in the capture of militants Raunil Nudalo Mortejo and Jasmin Castor Badilla in Matanao, Davao Del Sur.

In a text message, Maj. Gen. Eduardo Año said, "The arrest will create a huge leadership vacuum in the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee because they cannot easily replace these high-valued cadres. It would also affect the morale of NPA fighters as they start to develop doubts among themselves regarding their security situation."

Mortejo, also known by the aliases "Nestor" and "Angkol," was the leader of the NPA unit that abducted a member of the 25th Infantry Battalion in 2010 in Monkayo, Compostela Valley. Lacambra said Mortejo's unit also murdered two soldiers of the 67th Infantry Battalion in Baganga, Davao Oriental last October.

Badilla, who uses the alias "Antali," has been accused of robbing and intimidating a leader of a cooperative.

The third NPA leader was arrested by security forces in Barangay Lumintao in Quezon, Bukidnon. Maj. Ezra Balagtey identified the arrested militant as Reboy Gandinao. He said Gandinao is facing murder and multiple frustrated murder charges.

Nine more Sayyaf militants killed in Sulu clashes
Nine more Abu Sayyaf militants were slain in continuing clashes with Philippine security forces on the island province of Sulu.

Lieutenant Colonel Harold Cabunoc said 11 soldiers were injured in the latest fighting with the militants in the hinterlands of the town of Patikul in Sulu, a known Abu Sayyaf haven. He said the troops clashed with about 100 heavily-armed insurgents led by their senior commander Radulan Sahilon. The militants fled after a fierce 45-minute gun battle, leaving behind their nine dead comrades.

Cabunoc said military helicopter gunship sprayed heavy gunfire from the air on the militants, forcing them to scurry in different directions. A team of elite rangers later linked up with the soldiers to help in the clearing operations as well as extricate the injured military personnel.

Syrian army attacks Qamishli countryside, mass displacement reported
[ARA] Subsequent to Arclight airstrikes and artillery bombardment by the pro-regime military forces, a mass displacement took place in the area of Tel Hamis (35 km south of Qamishli) and the surrounding villages in Hasakah province, northeastern Syria, locals reported on Saturday.

Speaking to ARA News in Qamishli, civil rights activist Ismail Ali said that the region has witnessed a large displacement among residents of Tel Hamis and its surroundings, due to the heavy shelling carried out by the forces loyal to Syrian regime on locations held by the Islamic State

group (IS/ISIS) in the town and its neighboring villages.

This comes amid reports of possible preparations by the regime military forces backed by militia of the National Defense Army in an attempt to storm the town.

Locals reported that over the past two days, the Syrian regime forces targeted the IS strongholds in the region with heavy artillery and rocket launchers, coinciding with the regime's forces control of 16 villages and farms in the area.

The bombardment was reportedly coupled with Arclight airstrikes from the regime's helicopters with barrel bombs.

In another development, the Media Center of the People's Protection Units (YPG) announced the death of two IS holy warriors and the destruction of a number of armored vehicles, following an operation by the Kurdish YPG fighters who targeted a militarily convoy of the radical group in the area between Omra and Shora villages (25 km southeast of Qamishli).

Over the past week, Tel Hamis and its surrounding villages saw heavy battles between the pro-regime forces ‐backed by allied Arab gunnies‐ and holy warriors of the Islamic State, during which dozens of dead and maimed fell in the ranks of both parties.

Syrian warplane violates Turkish airspace
[ARA] Turkish fighter jets (F16) forced a Syrian warplane (Sukhoi Su-24) to change direction after approaching Turkish airspace within a distance of 2.5 nautical miles, the Turkish Chief of Staff said Saturday.

The Chief of Staff said in an official statement that the two F16 Turkish warplanes, which were on a border patrol in the sky of Gaziantep-Hatay, forced the Syrian Sukhoi Su-24 warplane to change its direction after approaching the Turkish-Syrian border, south of the town of Karbeyaz in Altınözü district of Hatay Province, with 2.5 nautical miles.

"The Syrian warplane attempted to harass the Turkish fighter jets while on border patrol sorties, by locking radar missiles for about 30 seconds.

Speaking to ARA News on the phone, the Syrian lawyer and political activist Ferid Hisso said that the provocative nature of the Syrian regime and its dependence on creating problems every now and then is a clear evidence of its confusion.

"This is not the first time mutual harassment takes place on the Syrian-Turkish border between both sides; the Syrian regime exploits minor incidents in order to cover up important issues that may serve its interests," Hisso added.

At a length of 800 km, Syria has the longest border with Turkey among it's neighboring countries; a border primarily under the control of the Kurdish fighters of the People's Protection Units (YPG) and radical murderous Moslems of the Islamic State

group in Syria Saturday amid uncertainty over the fate of a US hostage the jihadists claim was killed in an earlier raid.

The United Arab Emirates, meanwhile, said it would station a squadron of F-16 warplanes in Jordan to support it in strikes against the IS who burned alive a captured Jordanian airman.

The parents of American Kayla Jean Mueller said they were "hopeful" she was still alive, after IS said she had been buried under rubble following a strike by a Jordanian warplane on their self-proclaimed capital Raqa.

The United States said there was no proof that the 26-year-old aid worker from Arizona had been killed.

Mueller's parents appealed to her captors to contact them and for her safe return, in a statement carried by NBC News.

"This news leaves us concerned, yet, we are still hopeful that Kayla is alive. We have sent you a private message and ask that you respond to us privately," said Carl and Marsha Mueller.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the US-led coalition fighting IS bombarded the Raqa area on Saturday for a second consecutive day.

More than 30 IS fighters had been killed in raids Friday around Raqa, said the Britannia-based monitor.

A coalition statement said it had carried out a total of 11 air strikes against IS in Syria and 15 in Iraq during a 24-hour period up to Saturday morning, including in Raqa.

Jordanian state media said its warplanes had launched new anti-IS raids Saturday, for the third consecutive day, without saying what the targets were.

Coalition partner UAE said an unspecified number of F-16s would be deployed in Jordan to support the military in the fight against "the brutal terrorist organization" IS.

An activist in Raqa who did not want to be named said unconfirmed reports indicate Mueller had been moved recently from a women's prison in the city to an IS camp farther east.

The camp "has recently been the target of intense coalition raids," he said. "At the moment, we cannot confirm whether she was killed in the raids."

ISIS militants dress as Kurdish fighters to avoid U.S.-led strikes
[ARA] With the decline of the Islamic State

group (IS/ISIS) in Kobane in northern Syria, under blows of the Kurdish forces and supported by the U.S.-led coalition's Arclight airstrikes, tension increased in the ranks of the radical group and the allied Arab tribes in the areas surrounding the city of Tel Abyad (Gire Spi), Raqqa province, and northeastern Syria, anti-IS sources told ARA News.

In order to protect their positions against the coalition's strikes, the IS faceless myrmidons are reportedly building sand berms on the outskirts of Tel Abyad, as well as the villages of Khan, Sileeb, Qaran and Ahmadi west of the city.

Abu Mohammed, a resident of westernTel Abyad, told ARA News that the IS faceless myrmidons resort to camouflage operations to avoid the coalition's strikes in the western countryside, pointing out that the gunnies are currently dressing as the Kurdish fighters of the People's Protection Units (YPG) in these villages.

The source also said that the group's purpose of dressing as the YPG "is to be able to pursue supporters of Raqqa Rebels Brigade and the Kurdish forces" ‐who are in conflict with the radical group in northern Syria.

Commenting on these developments, Syria journalist Jiwan Soz stated to ARA News that the liberation of Tel Abyad from IS faceless myrmidons "is just a matter of time".

"However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits...
the Kurdish forces should clarify and demarcate the geographical limits they have in the fight against IS terrorists," he said.

"The Kurdish fighters must learn from their past mistakes, and they have to remember that they've signed agreements with the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) regarding potential areas of control."

In late July of 2013, the Islamic State and allied Islamist armed factions expelled thousands of Kurdish civilians from the city of Tel Abyad under threat of death to those who do not leave the city, eyewitness from the city told ARA News at the time.

Yezidi mass grave found in Zumar following ISIS withdrawal
[ARA] A mass grave containing the remains of nearly 16 people of the Yezidi minority was found near the Shingal area (where Kurdish Yezidis constitute a majority), local sources in the Zumar area in northern Iraq reported on Saturday.

Speaking to ARA News in Zumar, S. Hisso, a Yezidi resident, said that locals found the bodies of 16 Yezidis in a mass grave, "their bodies were open and scattered in an open pit of more than 15 meters long".

Hisso pointed out that the victims were apparently murdered and thrown down the hole without being buried.

"There are more Yezidi mass graves left by murderous Moslems of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. after their withdrawal, but we have not found them yet. Those mass graves are most likely distributed in the sub-districts of Qayyarah, al-Hadar, Sinjar, and Baaj," he said.

The source pointed out that among the bodies there were small skulls belonging to six children and the bodies of two women found by the remnants of their dressed.

Also, several identity cards that were found in the grave verified that they were followers of the Yezidi religion.

"According to experts, all the victims found were killed in the first days of the Islamic State's (IS/ISIS) offensive against the area last August," Hisso told ARA News.

Noteworthy, the Kurdish Peshmerga forces were able to regain control of Zumar area, northeast of Mount Sinjar, northern Iraq, following battles with IS krazed killers.

Iranian agents infiltrate ranks of Syrian rebels: detainee reveals
[ARA] Rebel fighters of the Sham Unified Front (SUF) in southern Syrian (works under the banner of the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
"FSA") announced Saturday that they received significant information from an Iranian prisoner, who was captured earlier in the Sheikh Miskin city in the northern countryside of Daraa.

The Front issued a statement, of which ARA News received a copy, saying that after interrogation of an Iranian captive by the Investigation and Judiciary Office of the SUF, "it was known that sleeper cells, that have been trained by the Lebanese militia of Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard members, have joined the ranks of the Syrian armed opposition".

"The prisoner confirmed that the sleeper cells are active within factions of the armed opposition and are collaborating with the Hezbollah militia and Iranian authorities by leaking strategic information about the movements of the rebel leaders," the statement added.

The SUF leadership pointed out that the Iranian prisoner admitted that one of the tasks assigned to these cells is the use of boom-mobiles and improvised bombs (prepared in the security branches of the Syrian regime) where they decide to put it in crowded places such as markets, schools and mosques.

"The liquidation of rebel leaders was a major mission assigned to those cells, and most of those operations were carried out successfully. The assassins were rewarded with an amount of 200,000 Syrian Pounds each," the statement read, referring to the presence of these cells not only in the provinces of Daraa and Quneitra in southern Syria, but also in eastern and western Ghoutas of Damascus, as well as cities and towns of Aleppo province.

The Sham Unified Front intends to swap the Iranian prisoner with a number of women detained by the Syrian regime, opposition activists from Daraa reported.

Islamic State was born in 1979 with covert operations in Afghanistan
"You have to go to 1979 when Brzezinski was the National Security Advisor to Jimmy Carter, [when he] convinced the president to sign a secret authorization to begin covert operations in Afghanistan, six months before the Soviets arrived around Christmastime of 1979. Known as the Bernard-Lewis Plan, it involved promoting Islamic Fundamentalism all across the Southern tier of the Soviet Union. When the Soviets finally moved in, things became concentrated in building up a radical Islamic terrorist apparatus, sponsored by the US, British, Saudis, French, and Israelis."
...

"Popov continued: 'A serious alignment would involve the US, Russia, China, other BRICS countries, Iran and Syria'. You can't trust Saudi Arabia or other GCC countries to genuinely try to defeat IS. If you had an alliance amongst those countries, you would have the resources to absolutely crush IS in Iraq and Syria. The Russians have a close relationship with the Syrians and Iranians, which could have genuine, direct coordination rather than the sneaky ones we have now. Egypt is a channel for feeding intelligence to the Syrian military, and the Iranians benefit from coordinated efforts between Iraq and the US, and Shiite militias, whom are some of the most effective fighters there."
Yeah, I know, Pravda. "Still more trustworthy than the NYT." TM

(IS) krazed killer group surrendered to the Turkish army on the border between Turkey and Syria, the armed forces said on Saturday.

The IS jihadist "surrendered together with his Kalashnikov (AK-47), seven magazines and 180 cartridges," the army said in a statement.

It said that the surrender took place on Friday in the Suruc district on the border, close to the Syrian town of Kobane which Kurdish fighters recaptured from jihadists last month.

There were no further details and it was not immediately clear if this was the first such incident.
