ISIL beheads 8 Libyan guards in oil field attack
[Iran Press TV] The ISIL Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorist group has decapitated eight Libyan guards during an offensive on an oil field in the center of the country.

Libya's military front man, Ahmed al-Mesmari, said Monday that the guards had their heads chopped off after the murderous Moslems carried out a deadly attack on the al-Ghani oil field near the town of Zalla on Friday.

Mesmari added that the ISIL group is trying to bring the whole petroleum industry of the violence-wracked country under its control, warning that the potential takeover would have dire consequences for the whole nation.

"This is the lifeline of the Libyan people," he cautioned.

According to reports, the murderous Moslems also kidnapped nine foreign workers, including four Filipinos, a Czech, a Ghanaian, an Austrian, and a Bangladeshi during the attack. This is while one of the kidnapped workers still remains unidentified.

The Libyan army, loyal to the country's internationally recognized government, is in charge of protecting the oil fields which have come under frequent attacks by the snuffies over the past months.

...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
group continues its advances in western Africa.

Around 200 holy warriors of the Boko Haram terrorist group were reported killed on Monday in the operation which saw the Nigerian town of Damask liberated.

A Chadian security source said three Chadian soldiers were killed and 20 others maimed in the offensive which began Sunday as part of a regional effort to purge Nigeria of the Takfiri turbans.

Officials in Niger also confirmed the recapture of the town, which had been under Boko Haram's control over the past four months.

The heavy fighting comes as the Takfiri group, which has been wreaking havoc in Nigeria for the past six years, recently pledged allegiance to the ISIL hard boyz operating in Iraq and Syria.

In an audio message last week, Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau (pictured above), voiced his support for ISIL's cruel massacre of the innocent people in the two Arab countries.

Arabia
Yemeni army pushes Al Qaeda militants out of Mahfad
Sanaa -- Yemeni military officials said Al Qaeda militants staged an intense assault on a southern town and overran it for several hours before a counter-attack by the army pushed them out.

The officials said Monday’s fighting over the town of Mahfad in Abyan province, a former Al Qaeda stronghold, lasted for eight hours. They said the militants took control of the town council building and several army checkpoints and moved in on a key army base. The clashes killed four Yemeni soldiers and seven Al Qaeda militants.

Yemen’s Al Qaeda branch has taken advantage of a deep political crisis roiling the country amid a Houthi rebel power grab, which has plunged it close to full-blown civil war.

Europe
French police arrest 4 linked to Paris terror attacks
[Iran Press TV] Four people have been apprehended in relation to the January attacks on a satirical magazine and a supermarket in Gay Paree, which left 17 people dead.

A French policewoman and three others thought to have links with Amedy Coulibaly, the main suspect of the attacks, have been taken into custody and placed under formal investigation, state-run BBC reported on Monday.

One of the tossed in the slammer

suspects, identified only as Amar, was arrested over drug charges in January, but data collected from his phone showed that he was near the supermarket just before the attack.

Police believe that Amar, a close friend of Coulibaly, may have been carrying out surveillance on the supermarket.

The arrested police officer is Amar's partner, who was working at an intelligence center in the Gay Paree suburbs.

Police believe that she had access to Amar's police file following the attacks and passed it on to him.

Police are currently questioning the two other people who had connections to Coulibaly.

On January 7, the Gay Paree offices of Charlie Hebdo
...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe...
satirical magazine were attacked, leaving 12 people dead. The shooting assault was carried out by al-Qaeda affiliates.

On January 9, police ended a hostage-taking at a supermarket in the eastern Porte de Vincennes area of Gay Paree, killing armed hostage-taker Coulibaly, who was also a suspect in the killing of a policewoman in southern Gay Paree a day earlier. Coulibaly killed four hostages before his death.
AnNahar adds:
Europe 1 radio reported that one of those detained was a policewoman posted at Rosny-sous-Bois just outside Paris who converted to Islam two years ago. She was suspended from her duties in early February.

[DAWN] An activist of the Pakistain Peoples Party students' wing was bumped off in a suspected sectarian attack on University Road on Monday evening, police said.

Qadri acquitted of terror charge; murder conviction upheld
[DAWN] The Islamabad High Court acquitted on Monday the self-confessed killer of then Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

governor Salman Taseer of charges of terrorism, but upheld his conviction under the Pakistain Penal Code (PPC).

Mumtaz Qadri, Mr Taseer's gunman and former commando of Punjab police's Elite Force, had assassinated Salman Taseer in Islamabad's Kohsar market on Jan 4, 2011.

On Oct 1 that year, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi sentenced Mumtaz Qadri to death on two counts -- one under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and the other under Section 302 of the PPC.

Qadri filed two separate appeals against his conviction.

A division bench of the IHC, comprising Justice Noorul Haq N. Qureshi and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, dismissed the appeal against conviction under the PPC, but accepted the plea seeking removal of terrorism charges.

The 64-page IHC judgement said: "The conviction of appellant recorded by the learned trial court under Section 7 (a) of the Anti-Terrorism Act is set aside; the appeal to this extent is allowed and appellant is acquitted from the said charge, whereas conviction and sentence recorded under Section 302 (b) of the PPC is upheld and appeal to this extent is dismissed.

"It is amazing to note that appellant (Mumtaz Qadri) took protection and rights guaranteed by the constitution, but deprived the dear departed (Salman Taseer) of all constitutional guarantees. It is beyond any reasonable doubt that the murder of Salman Taseer at the hands of appellant Mumtaz Qadri was pre-planned, cold blooded and gruesome.

"Murder intent and preparation is manifest from the prosecution evidence and the stance of appellant himself.

"Mumtaz Qadri emptied the whole magazine containing 28 bullets at the body of deceased Salman Taseer.

"The principles of mitigating as provided in the case law are not applicable to the present case.

"The appellant may be a pious man in his personal life, but admittedly neither he is a scholar nor a Qazi and it is the job of the courts to go in the depth of the words and then to declare that words attributed to a person amount to commission of offence of blasphemy or not.

"The Holy Prophet (SAW) was the blessing for whole mankind and instances where Prophet (SAW) forgave the contemnors were more in number than the instances where the contemnors were done to death."

The court expressed astonishment over the petitioner's allegation, without any proof and merely on perception, that Salman Taseer had committed major sins and said this act could not be termed Islamic and moral. If Taseer had made any irresponsible statement about the blasphemy law, he should have been taken to court, it added.

The judgment said: "Much was discussed about the motive of Mumtaz Qadri, but to our mind the act and stance of Qadri itself exhibit the motive. In the dictum laid down by the superior courts, it is settled law that motive or no motive is irrelevant when the case is proved without any shadow of doubt."

TERRORISM CHARGE: About the charges of terrorism, the court observed that it was not applicable because the incident did not create panic among the public. However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
the court is convinced that the ATC had jurisdiction to hear this matter.

The IHC verdict said: "There is no cavil with the proposition that supreme law of the state is Islamic law and all of our laws whether procedural, substantive or penal are to be interpreted in the light of the injunctions of the Holy Koran and Sunnah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) but from whatever angles it is considered neither the Islamic law nor the law of the land gives any justification to the act of the accused (Qadri) and searching for any justification for the act of the accused would defeat the purpose for which Islamic Theocratic Republic of Pakistain was established and the social contract amongst its people in the shape of the Constitution of Islamic Theocratic Republic of Pakistain was promulgated resulting in anarchy, lawlessness, and rule of might is right.

[DAWN] The city chief of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) was among four suspected murderous Moslems rubbed out in an alleged encounter with police and Rangers here on Monday.

The encounter took place after contingents of police and Rangers cordoned off an alleged hideout of the murderous Moslems in Surjani Town's Sector 10.

Iraq
Prague Approves Warplanes Sale to Iraq to Fight Jihadists
[AnNahar] The Czech government on Monday approved the sale of 15 combat and training L-159 jets to help Baghdad fight the jihadist Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group, the defense minister told news hounds.

"We are looking at a total of 15 warplanes, four of which come from the Czech air force, while 11 others come from surplus stock," Martin Stropnicky said.

"The total cost is 750 million koruna (27.5 million euros; $30 million)," the minister added.

Thirteen jets are single-seaters, and two have room for a co-pilot.

The contract with Baghdad, whose troops have faced a major jihadist onslaught since June, also envisages the sale of ground equipment, weapons and ammunition.

Aircraft manufacturer Aero Vodochody made 72 L-159 jets for the Czech army in the 1990s, for 51 billion koruna (1.8 billion euros).

Because of budget cuts, the air force has only held on to some 30 jets since.

The L-159 is equipped with air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles. Some 80 percent of its parts are foreign-made, mainly in the United States.

In 2012, Iraq said it was interested in buying 28 L-159 jets. Although Baghdad and Prague signed a contract, the sale never actually took place.

Last year, Prague delivered ammunition worth 1.5 million euros to Iraqi Kurds fighting the IS group.
American indifference isn't nearly as devastating as planned, because the Kurds have found other friends in the great, wide world.
The warplanes sale "is intended for the same purpose," said Stropnicky.

Czech firm Excalibur last month said it had agreed to sell Baghdad 100 T-72 tanks and BVP-1 military vehicles.

Retreating ISIS blows up bridge in south Kirkuk
[RUDAW.NET] ISIS snuffies have blown up the bridge in Mala Abdullah village in southern Kirkuk province to stop a strong Peshmerga offensive that has retaken key areas, a Rudaw news hound has confirmed.

"In order to stop our advances, the ISIS snuffies blew up the bridge in Mala Abdullah," said Brigadier Zimnako Shamerani, a Peshmerga commander, on Monday.

Despite the defensive tactics, he added: "The Peshmerga will arrive in Mala Abdullah village soon. They are only 5km away."

A Rudaw news hound on the frontlines said the villages of Dur Karaba, Smailawa, and the high ground behind Smailawa and Sakhra have been cleared from ISIS.

"ISIS has planted mines around the liberated villages, so bomb disposal teams have begun defusing them," said Brigadier Sarhad Qadir, a director of police in Kirkuk governorate.

Kurdistan's Peshmerga report new gains against Islamists near Kirkuk
[ARA] The Kurdish forces of the Peshmerga in Iraqi Kurdistan announced Monday its control over new villages in the southwestern areas of Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
after withdrawal of the Islamic State

Heavy losses in lives and equipment hit the ranks of the group, and led to the withdrawal of its bully boyz to the town of Riad near Hawijah.

Meanwhile,

The window was looking better all the time....

battles continued Monday between the Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces and IS bully boyz in Salahuddin province. The Popular Mobilization Forces have reportedly regained control of Tikrit.

This coincided with the announcement of the arrival of U.S. General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the American Army to the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Iraqi journalist Ali Miteri told ARA News that Dempsey's visit comes within the framework of an American investigation regarding Iranian interference in the battle of Tikrit and its support of Iraqi forces.

"The battles continue in Tikrit under the supervision of the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Soleimani. This has apparently raised U.S. concerns," Miteri said, pointing out that Dempsey will also discuss a potential improvement of coordination between the Iraqi army and the Kurdish Peshmerga troops in order to prepare for an extended battle to regain djinn-infested Mosul

from the IS group.

Noteworthy, preparations are under way by Iraqi and Peshmerga forces for to regain control of Mosul, which has been under the control of the radical group since Jun, 2014.

Kurdish fighters attack ISIL terrorists west of Iraq's Kirkuk
[Iran Press TV] Iraq's Kurdish forces have attacked and driven back ISIL Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
holy warriors from the northern city of Kirkuk.

Local officials on Monday announced the fresh gain against the holy warriors as Kurdish security forces have long sought to secure the oil-rich city.

According to Kurdish forces, they managed to seize 100 square kilometers (40 square miles) of land, including several villages, south and west of Kirkuk in an offensive that kicked off at 6:00 a.m. (0300 GMT).

Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region Security Council also said the Peshmerga fighters took control of a strategic junction connecting Kirkuk to the Death Eater-held city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, in northern Iraq.

Tikrit offensive
The advances in Kirkuk come as Iraqi security forces, who have recently launched an operation to take back the strategic city of Tikrit from the ISIL, said that troops, backed by Shia and Sunni volunteers, have pushed closer to the city in northern Salahuddin Province.

Troops are closing in on the center of the town of al-Alam, north of Tikrit, from three directions in an attempt to recapture it, according to military officials.

A number of villages and oilfields near Tikrit, which is the birthplace of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, have already been retaken.

Located some 130 kilometers (80 miles) north of the capital, Baghdad, Tikrit was overrun by the ISIL holy warriors in the summer of 2014 along with Mosul and other areas in the Arab country's Sunni heartland.

#6  Regarding the Kurds: To paraphrase an old American wartime Commander-In-Chief ... We can't spare these men (and women); they fight!

Now if we would only support them properly - get the weapons in their hands that they need. Lighting up the suicide truck with RPGs is fine, but they should have at least had a TOW, or better yet a Javelin (lighter, more mobile 2 man system), which would suit their light infantry operational pattern. And from historical experience in Afghanistan and Iraq, he psychological effect of the sound of a Javelin firing sometimes caused insurgents to disengage and flee their position. Plus the targeting sight works pretty good in a pinch as an observation/scouting device.

That and, as usual, my repeated point that the Kurds need real field artillery. We should be sending them M102 (105mm towed gun).

Its a proven weapon from Vietnam and Desert Storm. Light gun - can be towed by a Humvee or maybe even a heavier technical like an F350 Superduty with a dual rear end (drink up O-Club), high initial rate of fire (10 rounds/min first 2-3 mins) with a trained crew. The digital stuff is all add-on, they still have all the less complex to maintain analog targeting gear, so they would be great for a lower-tech force like the Kurds to operate in decent numbers. Light = easily moved as well, unlike a 155.

And one thing to remember - its not just HE indirect fire - it will also give them illumination, conventional or colored smoke, and WP too. And the 105 does have a direct fire mode to engage targets like the one in this video with HEP (anti-vehicle/tank) rounds, as well as the APERS flechette (beehive) rounds.

Where do we get them? Refurbish (remove the high end targeting stuff, leave in place the basics) and send over bunches of the US Army and Marine M102 105mm towed guns we replaced - I think the national guard still has a few units using them that will be upgraded. And oh by the way, the Saudis have over 100 of these, and the Jordanians have about 50, they might be talked out them of if given the newer M119 to replace them.

Sounds like its right up the Kurd's alley, and will not cost us all that much except sending them older ammo from our stockpiles. Question is, why haven't we done this already? (I knOw the answer to that, just being rhetorical)

Ten policemen injured in NPA ambushes
[Manila Times] Ten policemen were injured in separate attacks by New People's Army militants in Mindanao.

73 Moro militants slain so far, possibly a 'most wanted'
[Inquirer] Philippine security forces have killed 73 Moro militants, including one described as "foreign-looking" who may be a terror suspect sought by the United States. Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. said they were verifying the nationality of the foreign-looking militant from the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters whose body was recovered by troops in Mamasapano town, Maguindanao province, on Sunday.

Four militants were killed by troops in the latest fighting on Saturday, the 11th day of the all-out offensive against the BIFF. Four BIFF militants were also captured by rangers in the Maguindanao marshland. The military lost four soldiers, including a captain from the Scout Rangers, in the fighting in Pusao village.

Lt. Col. Willie Manalang described the foreign-looking fighter as 1.74 meters tall with a fair complexion. Manalang said, "He does not look Asian. He could be one of the foreign terrorists who were coddled by the BIFF."

He said one of the slain militants was thought to be a cousin of BIFF founder Ameril Umra Kato. Manalang said, "We found a cell phone among his belongings [and it] contained a text [message from] Kato where he was addressed as his cousin."

One source said Malaysian military authorities had confirmed that foreign terrorists —- four Indonesians and one Pakistani —- were helping the BIFF in Maguindanao and that they had the names of the terrorists. The source said the foreign-looking fighter killed could be the Pakistani.

Brig. Gen. Joselito Kakilala said the corpse bore "similarities" to a US "most wanted" Islamic militant, but refused to identify the suspect.

General Catapang had earlier said that four foreign terrorists were being coddled by Mohammad Ali Tambako, leader of the BIFF splinter group, Islamic Justice Movement (IJM).

group in northern Syria killed 30 people, mostly jihadists, a monitoring group said on Monday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said coalition warplanes launched two strikes Sunday on oil facilities in Raqa province, a stronghold of the bad boy group which borders The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
Since September, the coalition has conducted repeated air strikes against IS in Syria, as well as in neighboring Iraq, where the jihadists have declared an Islamic "caliphate" in areas under their control.

The raids have frequently targeted oil facilities run by the jihadists, who according to some estimates earn more than $1 million per day from oil sales.

On Sunday, the coalition also launched strikes against al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate Al-Nusra

Front in the northwestern province of Idlib.

The attacks, which targeted an Al-Nusra Front military base in Atmeh near the Turkish border, killed nine members of the group, the Britannia-based Observatory said.

A civilian in Atmeh told AFP that three buildings targeted by the strikes "were completely destroyed".

Regime warplanes meanwhile struck a suburb northeast of the Syrian capital on Sunday, killing 13 people, including two children, and wounding more than 50, the Observatory said, updating an earlier toll of 11 dead.

Government forces also targeted the key rebel bastion of Eastern Ghouta outside Damascus using barrel bombs -- weapons crudely constructed from barrels packed with explosives and usually dropped from helicopters, the monitoring group said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Human rights groups have criticized the regime's use of barrel bombs as indiscriminate, citing the large number of civilians they kill, but Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

T.H. was apprehended by the army intelligence at his house in the area of Dahr al-Ain on Sunday night, it said.

The agency did not give further details.

The military is yet to issue a statement to confirm the man's arrest.

The army is struggling to contain a rising tide of violence linked to the civil war in neighboring Syria. It has arrested dozens of murderous Moslems for plotting attacks across the country.

group (IS/ISIS) executed eight Kurdish young men from the village of Qaar Kalbin in the IS-held area of al-Bab in the province of Aleppo, northern Syria, locals reported on Monday.

Speaking to ARA News in al-Bab, civil rights activist Ahmed al-Sayyed said that after rifts broke out within the group, "the degree of brutality against civilians has increased."

"The radical group imposed a curfew in the village and started storming houses."

"The homes owned by the Kurdish people were specifically targeted by IS jihadists," he added.

Al-Sayyed added that IS members tossed in the calaboose

eight Kurdish young men, before leading them to the city's public square where they were executed without any specific reason or announcement.

"My brother was asleep when they arrested him, he did not realize what is happening," sister of one of the victims told ARA News on the phone.

"When my mother asked the perpetrators for the reason of detention, one of the IS holy warriors shouted at her face and pushed her back, taking my brother to the public square, where we thought they would whip him but they suddenly brutally killed him in front of us," she added.

"They were killed because of their ethnic affiliation as Kurds," she argued.

The village of Qaar Kalbin has recently seen several barbaric practices by Islamic State bandidos murderous Moslems such as the whipping elderly civilians and arresting as well as the beheading of young men. "The group does not explain the reasons for committing such crimes," a local activist told ARA News.

-run prison in northern Syria but most have been recaptured, a monitoring group said on Tuesday.

The jailbreak took place in the town of al-Bab, 30 km (20 miles) south of the Turkish frontier, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The escapees included Syrian civilians, about 30 Kurdish fighters, and members of Islamic battalions opposed to the more hardline Islamic State, the Observatory said.

Kurdish fighters backed by US-led air strikes have been trying to drive back Islamic State across northern Syria.

Islamic State has put the town on high alert and has been using loudspeakers to tell citizens to capture the escapees, the Observatory said, citing people on the ground. About two thirds have since been caught.

"They have set up new checkpoints and have been searching houses," the Observatory's head Rami Abdulrahman said. "But it shows some weakness when a big number of prisoners escapes."

Islamic State was still in control of the town, which lies northeast of the city of Aleppo.

Islamic State combatants fought each other over the weekend in al-Bab when several of its members broke out of another jail in the town and tried to head for the Turkish border. Since that breakout, Islamic State had moved people to the new, smaller prison which was the site of the latest escape.

The group which escaped over the weekend included mainly European fighters and was stopped by other Islamic State members in festivities that killed at least nine, the Observatory said.
