Bomber kills provincial police chief in Afghanistan
[Iran Press TV] A terrorist wearing a face-covering garment has detonated a bomb in Afghanistan's capital city of Kabul, killing himself and an influential provincial police chief, officials say.

The Wednesday attack led to the death of the police chief in central Uruzgan Province, Matiullah Khan, who had worked closely with NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants...

Clashes between rival militias kill nine in Libya
[Iran Press TV] At least nine people have been killed in fighting between rival militia groups in western Libya, as the security situation further deteriorates in the conflict-ridden North African country.

"A surprise attack was carried out by Zintan militias and tribal forces, specifically in the crossroads between the towns of Bir al-Ghanam and Zawiya, where our troops are stationed," a source from the Fajr Libya (Libya Dawn
...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). ) said on condition of anonymity.

The source added, "More than 30 military vehicles backed by infantry fired heavily against our forces. And our troops responded strongly. Violent festivities took place for more than two hours, killing four of our troops and injuring six others."

A military source from the internationally recognized Libyan government's army also said five members of Zintan forces were killed in the festivities, while eight others were maimed.

"We want weapons and ammunition only. We have the men. The army is increasing in number every day," General Khalifa Haftar

While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. said on Thursday.

Haftar warned that ISIL Lions of Islam will "spread in even the European countries if (the West) doesn't offer real help to the Libyan people, especially the Libyan army."

The murderous Moslems, he said, "will head with the illegal migrants to Europe, where corruption and destruction will spread just like Libya. But there it will be hard to confront them."

Islamic State Claims Responsibility for Tunisia Attack
[NYTIMES] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group grabbed credit Thursday for the attack that killed 21 people at a museum. But Tunisian authorities said the two slain gunnies had no clear links to Lion of Islams, and analysts said existing murderous Moslem cells are merely being inspired by the group, rather than establishing its presence across North Africa.
Yesterday they were merely applauding it and urging more of the same.
Police announced the arrest of five people described as directly tied to the two gunnies who opened fire Wednesday at the National Bardo Museum. Four others said to be supporters of the cell also were tossed in the slammer
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
in central Tunisia, not far from where a group claiming allegiance to al-Qaeda's North African branch has been active.

Tunisians stepped around trails of blood and broken glass outside the museum to rally in solidarity with the 21 victims -- most of them foreign tourists from cruise ships -- and with the country's fledgling democracy. Marchers carried signs saying, "No to terrorism," and "Tunisia is bloodied but still standing."

In claiming responsibility for the attack, the Islamic State group issued a statement and audio on jihadi websites applauding the dead gunnies as "knights" for their "blessed invasion of one of the dens of infidels and vice in Moslem Tunisia."

Several well-gangs in neighboring and chaotic Libya have already pledged their allegiance to Islamic State based in Iraq and Syria, but the attack of such magnitude in Tunisia -- the only country to emerge from the Arab Spring uprisings with a functioning democracy -- raised concern about the spread of extremism to the rest of North Africa.

Two killed in Molotov cocktail attack at youth centre in Kerdasa
[Al Ahram] Two people have died in a fire caused by Molotov cocktails thrown by unknown assailants at Nahiya Youth Centre in Kerdasa village, Giza, Al-Ahram Arabic website has reported.

Security forces went to the youth centre following reports of an kaboom heard in the area. The two dead were found at the site.

The village of Kerdasa witnessed several deadly festivities between pro-Mohammed Morsi supporters and security forces, as well several attacks against security forces.

On Wednesday, a criminal court referred 22 Morsi supporters to Egypt's grand mufti in a step to confirm death sentences passed against them on charges of murdering a policeman, the attempted murder of others, rioting, sabotage of public properties, using force against security forces and illegal possession of weapons, stemming from events following the ouster of Morsi in September 2013.

Earlier in February, the same court sentenced 183 Morsi supporters to death for storming Kerdasa Police Station in the aftermath of the dispersal of pro-Morsi sit-ins in August 2013 -- an attack that killed 11 coppers.

, killing nearly a dozen people.

The killings took place after hundreds of Boko Haram snuffies stormed the town of Gamboru, located some 700 kilometers (434 miles) north of the capital, Abuja, following the withdrawal of about 2,500 Chadian troops from the Nigerian territory last week.

"Boko Haram gunnies returned on cycle of violences to Gamboru yesterday (Wednesday)... and rubbed out eight people," Mudi Dankaka, a local of the nearby Cameroonian town of Fotokol, said. He added that three more people were killed on Thursday.

Another Fotokol resident, Umar Ari, said Nigerian forces have not been spotted in Gamboru, leaving the area exposed and with no security presence since the Chadian troops' pullback.

Boko Haram Takfiris had earlier massacred dozens of women in Bama -- a city of about 200,000 people located just 75 kilometers (45 miles) northwest of Borno state's capital, Maiduguri.

Boko Haram 'slaughter wives' in NE Nigeria: Witnesses
[Al Ahram] Dozens of Nigerian women who were forced to marry Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
fighters were reportedly slaughtered by their "husbands" before a battle with troops in the northeast town of Bama, multiple witnesses said Thursday.

Five witnesses who recounted the massacres to AFP said the Islamist Death Eaters feared they would be killed by advancing soldiers or separated from their wives when they fled the town.

They killed the women to prevent them from subsequently marrying soldiers or other so-called non-believers, they added.

"The bandidos turbans said they will not allow their wives to be married to infidels," said Sharifatu Bakura, 39, a mother of three.

According to Bakura's account, which was supported by others, Boko Haram fighters received word of a military assault on Bama, formerly an Islamist stronghold in Borno state.

The turbans had decided to flee to the nearby town of Gwoza before the troops' arrival but first decided "to kill their wives so that nobody will remarry them", she said.

Bukara's husband was killed by the turbans four months ago but she was spared from a forced marriage because she was visibly pregnant.

Boko Haram forcibly married scores of women in Bama after seizing it in September. Nigeria's military announced the recapture of the town on Monday.

Witnesses, who were taken under military protection this week to Borno's capital Maiduguri, 73 kilometres (45 miles) away, said the killing of women began 10 days before Bama was liberated.

The Islamists said "if they kill their wives, they would remain pious until both of them meet again in heaven, where they would re-unite", said Salma Mahmud, another witness.

A vigilante who fought alongside the military in the battle to retake Bama, Abba Kassim, said he saw "dozens of women corpses" in the town.

While other witnesses reportedly a similarly high casualty figure the numbers were impossible to verify.

Nigeria's national security front man Mike Omeri told AFP he would try to verify the reports while the military could immediately be reached for comment.

46 killed, 100 injured in suicide attacks on 2 Yemen mosques
Ay-Peee
Triple suicide bombers hit a pair of mosques crowded with worshippers in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Friday, killing 46 and injuring 100 others, according to medical officials. The attackers targeted mosques controlled by Shiite rebels.
Houthis get some payback
A report on the rebel-owned Al-Masirah TV channel said the bombers attacked the Badr and al-Hashoosh mosques during midday prayers on Friday, traditionally the most crowded time of the week. There was no immediate casualty report. It added that hospitals were urging citizens to donate blood.

Witnesses said that at least two suicide bombers attacked inside the Badr mosque. One walked inside the mosque and detonated his device, causing panic as dozens of worshippers rushed toward the outside gates. A second suicide bomber then attacked amid the panicked crowds trying to escape.

Another suicide bomber blew himself up outside a mosque in the northern Huthi stronghold of Saada, a source close to the militia said. Only the assailant was killed in that explosion, and tight security at the mosque prevented the bomber from going inside, the source added.

In an online statement, the previously unknown Sanaa branch of IS claimed the bombings and said they were "just the tip of the iceberg".

"Infidel Huthis should know that the soldiers of the Islamic State will not rest until they eradicate them... and cut off the arm of the Safavid (Iranian) plan in Yemen," the statement said. It is the first time that IS has claimed any attack in Yemen where Al-Qaida remains the most prominent jihadist group.

The Safavid empire ruled much of present day Iran from the late 15th century to the 18th century. They also colonized parts of Yemen (as well as other places). In the beginning of 16th century Iran was Sunni but conversion by the sword changed that and by the middle of the 1th century, Iran was predominantly Shia.

Six dead as clashes shut airport in south Yemen
[Al Ahram] Deadly festivities forced the closure of the international airport in Yemen's main southern city Aden on Thursday, where the conflict-ridden country's leader fled after militia forces seized the capital.

At least six people were killed and 20 maimed after fierce fighting broke out between supporters and opponents of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi, security sources said.

The festivities erupted between a special forces unit loyal to the Shiite Huthi militia who have seized control of the capital and pro-Hadi paramilitary fighters, security sources said.

The special forces, led by renegade General Abdel Hafez al-Saqqaf, met with heavy resistance from fighters with the Popular Committees, a local paramilitary group that backs Hadi.

Several hundred soldiers backing Hadi -- supported by tanks and armoured vehicles -- were also dispatched as reinforcements to the airport.

Three members of the special forces were killed and two from the Popular Committees, sources said. Another special forces member was killed in separate fighting in central Aden.

The Hadi loyalists regained control of the airport early Thursday after several hours of fighting, a military source told AFP.

Yemen, a key US ally in the fight against Al-Qaeda, has been gripped by unrest since ex-strongman President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh

stepped down in early 2012 after a year-long popular uprising against his rule.

Saleh -- along with Iran -- has been accused of backing the Huthis, who took control of Sanaa in September and earlier this year seized key government buildings in the capital.

Hadi resigned after the rebels seized his palace and named a "presidential council" to rule the country and assume the powers of the presidency.

Hadi was sent to his room in Sanaa but later resurfaced in Aden and retracted his resignation, despite being increasingly isolated in his southern Yemen power base.

Yemeni president evacuated as plane attacks Hadi's palace
[Al Ahram] Yemeni President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi was evacuated to safety Thursday after a warplane targeted a palace where he was staying in the southern city of Aden, an aide said.

"President Hadi has been evacuated to a safe place but he has not left the country," the source told AFP as the plane made a second pass over the palace.

Security forces, who opened fire with anti-aircraft defences, said the fighter plane had opened fire but missed the palace, hitting a nearby hillside.

Hadi took refuge in Aden last month after fleeing house arrest under the Huthi militia that has taken control of the capital.

AP reporter in Yemen: Flight cancelled for warfare
[UTSANDIEGO] Then the captain's voice came over the intercom: "Will passengers please leave the aircraft immediately."

No one moved. "Will passengers please leave the aircraft, the airport has been closed," he said, more commanding this time.

Many still did not leave. "You must disembark now," a flight attendant barked.

As I and the around 150 other passengers left the aircraft and made our way back to the terminal, it became clear why. Bursts of heavy machine gunfire and kabooms were frequent and near. Watching from the departure hall, we saw two armored pickup trucks mounted with machine guns speed onto the tarmac and open fire at targets somewhere to the east.

These were police special forces loyal to former president President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh

who had stormed the airport, trying to capture control from forces of Evil and troops loyal to the current president, Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi. We were caught in what would become an hours-long battle, part of the bigger conflict tearing apart this chaotic, impoverished nation.

India-Pakistan
Another school comes under grenade attack, pamphlet dropped
[DAWN] Another private school in the city came under a grenade attack on Wednesday morning, triggering fear and panic among parents and the school administration.

The grenade hurled by some motorcyclists at Beaconhouse School System, Primary III (playgroup to class V), in North Nazimabad's Block-B, went kaboom! at the boundary wall near its main gate.

The attackers also dropped a pamphlet there, warning the authorities that if the killing of turbans in encounters, their execution and repatriation of Afghan refugees were not stopped, they would continue to target schools, non-Moslem communities and law enforcement agencies.

The school administration immediately after the attack, which was carried out at 10.45am, closed the campus as parents became panicky and rushed to take their children back home.

"The grenade attack appeared to be a move to create harassment," said Gulberg SP Faisal Noor.

Some parents talking to the media complained that several schools in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...

Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
, but the authorities had yet to ensure proper security at schools.

He said the motorcyclists could not be identified through CCTV camera footage, because they were covered by a car.

He said contingents of police and Rangers rushed to the spot after receiving information of the grenade attack on the private school. It emerged during initial investigation that two private guards and a watchman on duty at the school did not challenge the attackers at all. "The security head of the school was detained following the incident for interrogation," the officer said.

Quoting a bomb disposal squad official, the Gulberg SP said that it was a Russian-made (RG-7) hand grenade, weighing around 200 grams.

In the same neighbourhood, the officer said, a suspected bully boy belonging to the banned Al-Qaeda was locked away

for killing two members of the Ismaili community. Just four days after his arrest, a police mobile van of North Nazimabad DSP was targeted in a 'cracker attack'.

You would think they would have renamed all these colonialist expoiter establishments to some more islamically euphonious name like Al-Kaboomi Academy - is it possible that trust money from some long-expired philanthropists still flows?

...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
and Mansehra
...a city and an eponymous district in eastern Khyber-Pakthunwa, nestled snug up against Pak Kashmir, with Kohistan and Diamir to the north and Abbottabad to the south...
police in Mansehra.

The suspect Ahmed Khan alias Pappu Kashmiri was arrested in Mansehra, police said.

Police further said that the suspect will be presented before a district and sessions court in Mansehra shortly.

Perween Rehman, a media-shy social worker who devoted her life to the development of the impoverished neighbourhoods across the country, was bumped off near her office in Karachi's Orangi Town on March 13, 2013.

The very next day, police potted a Taliban operative named Qari Bilal in an encounter and claimed he was the murderer, resulting in a closure of the case.

Last year on April 15, the Supreme Court of Pakistain had ordered authorities to conduct a fresh probe into Rehman's murder after a judicial inquiry had revealed that coppers had manipulated the investigation.

Drone strike near Pak-Afghan border takes out Hakimullah's aide
[DAWN] A close aide of former Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) Chief Hakimullah Mehsud, Khawrey Mehsud, was killed in a drone strike near the Pak-Afghan border yesterday.

According to TTP front man Muhammad Khorasani, Khawrey Mehsud was killed in a drone attack in Kurram Agency
...home of an intricately interconnected web of poverty, ignorance, and religious fanaticism, where the laws of cause and effect are assumed to be suspended, conveniently located adjacent to Tora Bora...
near the Pak-Afghan border on March 18. Two other forces of Evil were also killed in the drone attack.

Khawrey Mehsud was a close aide of former TTP supremo Hakimullah and was said to have taken part in terrorist activities in Afghanistan and Pakistain.

Kurram is one of the most sensitive tribal areas as it borders three Afghan provinces and at one point was one of the key routes for bad boy movement across the border.

The region was claimed by the military to have been cleared of bandidos Lion of Islams during an operation a couple of years ago, however, forces of Evil still carry out sectarian attacks and also target security forces occasionally.

Kurram tribal agency is adjacent to North Wazoo region where the operation Zarb-e-Azb
..the Pak offensive against Qaeda in Pakistain and the Pak Taliban in North Wazoo. The name refers to the sword of the Prophet (PTUI!)...
is in progress against Taliban and other Lion of Islam groups.

Drone attacks are widely unpopular across Pakistain and according to survey conducted in June last year, 66 per cent of the country's citizens oppose the strikes.

Southeast Asia
Explosives seized from BIFF leader’s house
[Gulf Today] Philippine security forces seized explosives and bomb-making materials during a raid on the house of an arrested leader of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters in General Santos City in Mindanao.

Lieutenant Colonel Harold Cabunoc said the raid was conducted by a security team a few hours after the arrest of Mohammad Ali Tambako and four of his alleged associates on Sunday night. Cabunoc said, "It is believed that Tambako and his men were planning to carry out bombings in the area to sow terror and violence. Our men are also looking into the possibility that Tambako and his cohorts were planning to divert attention from the continuing all-out offensive conducted by government forces against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters particularly in Maguindanao province."

The military said Tambako was a close associate of former MILF veteran field commander Ameril Umbra Kato when he broke away to form the BIFF. Tambako served as the BIFF military affairs vice chairman when he broke away from the BIFF over policy differences and established, in turn, another splinter group called the Justice for Islamic Movement.

Tambako was confirmed to have studied abroad before returning to the Philippines to join Moro militant groups. A security expert said, "Because of his exposure to foreign terror networks, he established a network of contacts among notorious groups around the world."

ISIL decapitates three Peshmerga fighters: Video
[Iran Press TV] The Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
ISIL group has released a new video showing the purported beheading of three Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga fighters.

The video, released by the Takfiri faceless myrmidons on Thursday, shows the purported beheading of the Kurdish fighters identified as Rizgar Hama Saleh, Pishtiwan Osman, and Hisham Nabil.

The three victims are seen in the footage dressed in orange outfits, with four masked knife-wielding Takfiri faceless myrmidons speaking Arabic standing close to them.

The location of the decapitations is not disclosed in the video.

Kurdish forces are fighting the Takfiri group in several areas across Iraq and Syria and have inflicted heavy losses on them.

In February, the Takfiri Death Eaters released a new video that showed 21 Kurdish Peshmerga fighters in cages being paraded through packed streets in the Iraqi province of Kirkuk.

The nine-minute footage showed the orange jumpsuit-clad prisoners being interviewed by an ISIL myrmidon holding a microphone with the group's insignia, before being seemingly taken to a location to be killed.

The prisoners were driven one by one on the back of pick-up trucks with flag-waving ISIL faceless myrmidons accompanying each prisoner.

New influx of ISIS militants to Syria's Tel Abyad through Turkey
[ARA] At least 40 turbans of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group (IS/ISIS) entered into the Syrian territory through the Turkish border city of Akcakale heading to Tel Abyad (Gire Spi) after officials at the crossing recorded names, local sources reported on Thursday.

An eyewitness at Akcakale crossing told ARA News on condition of anonymity that the IS members who crossed into Syria are most probably from the group's maimed members who received treatment in the Turkish hospitals.

Sources from Tel Abyad told ARA News (on condition of anonymity) that 300 IS members were seen in the last period wandering the city.

The sources pointed out that the group tries to raise the morale of its fighters and loyalists after the recent defeats at the hands of the joint forces (the People's Protection Units "YPG", FSA, and the Peshmerga), amid the advance of those forces towards the city of Tel Abyad.

"The group appoints new military commanders on the fighting fronts every week," the sources added.

The group loses gradually its incubator and supporters among Arab tribes in the region amid movement of civilians displaced towards The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, through illegal crossings held by the group where every person is obliged to pay 3,000 SP.

Media reports have talked about the presence of nine informal crossings between the IS held areas and Turkey in the vicinity of Tel Abyad, which allows the entry of all kinds of goods, medical supplies and fuel.

ARA News has published earlier reports on the smuggling operations taking place on the Syrian-Turkish border in the villages of Gire Sor, Susik, Tel Fandar and Munbatih in the western countryside of Tel Abyad city.

"A number of Arab communities, who live in the IS-held villages near the Turkish border, pass the border with their cargo of tobacco on cycle of violences. You can easily reach djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
and purchases materials and come back to Turkey without any risk," the source added.

Several local Arab tribes in Tel Abyad area have supported the IS jihadists in the displacement of Kurdish families in July 2013. They played a role in supporting the radical group financially and morally, locals stated to ARA News.

Kurdish activists accuse the Turkish authorities of coordinating with the hardline group of Islamic State at the border-line with Syria.

's (IS/ISIS) murderous Moslems bombed a number of Shiite mosques and shrines in the district of Hamdania, southeast of djinn-infested Mosul

.

Also on Thursday, the radical group destroyed the monastery of "Martyrs Mar Behnam and Sarah Mar", southeast of Mosul, which dates back to the 4th century AD.

Several civilian sources in the city of Mosul told ARA News on condition of anonymity that IS members moved the entire contents of Shiite mosques and shrines and warned the residents of the nearby neighborhoods to contribute to the destruction.

The monastery of "Martyrs Mar Behnam and Sarah Mar" is a Syriac Catholic monastery located in Nineveh province in the northwestern suburb of Mosul. The monastery has been associated with the story of the Assyrian Prince Mar Behnam, who converted to Christianity with his sister Sarah.

Over the past few months, the Islamic State had bombed a number of mosques in Mosul, under the pretext of the existence of infidels' shrines, after looting the ancient contents.

Kurdish forces storm last stronghold of ISIS in Kobane's countryside
[ARA] Subsequent to fierce festivities with holy warrior fighters of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS/ISIS), the joint forces defending Kobane in the province of Aleppo, in northern Syria, were able Thursday to enter the town of Serrin, which was considered the last stronghold in the southern countryside of Kobane, military sources reported.

Speaking to ARA News, Khalid Minas, fighter in the ranks of People's Protection Units (YPG) said that the YPG fighters --backed by Burkan al-Furat and the Peshmerga forces-- took over the town of Serrin where Arabs constitute majority and seized control of the town's cop shoppe after forcing the IS bandidos turbans to withdraw.

"The cop shoppe was an IS headquarter," the source added, pointing out that the joint forces took control of the western and southern parts of the town.

Minas also stressed that the U.S.-led international coalition's warplanes carried out several strikes on IS headquarters in Serrin "which facilitated the path for the our forces to take over the town.

These developments coincided with intensified artillery and rocket bombings launched by Peshmerga forces on the group's locations in nearby areas.

Serrin town (45 km south of Kobane) was deemed to be the last bastion for the IS faceless myrmidons within the administrative borders of Kobane.
