Yesterday they said 98.
Eight soldiers have been killed according to the military, including the two on Saturday.

The operation came days after the Sinai Province released a video documenting its attacks on the military in Sinai, including footage of a wire-guided missile strike that destroyed a navy vessel.

Seven Dead, 20 Injured in Nigera IDP Camp Blast
More on this story from yesterday.
[ALMANAR.LB] At least seven people were killed and 20 others were maimed in a Friday kaboom at an internally displaced persons camp in northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
, the country's relief agency NEMA said.

The attack happened in the town of Yola and was the first ever at an IDP camp in the country.

The agency's northeastern coordinator Mohammad Kanar said that seven of those injured have been treated and discharged while "13 others are still being attended to at the Federal Medical Center" in Yola.

No group has grabbed credit for the blast so far.

Malkohi camp is home to over 1,500 IDPs, mostly from Borno state, the epicenter of the Boko Haram

Yemen army seizes 4 Saudi military bases
[Iran Press TV] Yemeni forces have seized control of four Saudi military bases in the southwestern province of Dhahran al-Janub.

Fighters of the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
Ansarullah movement, backed by allied forces of the army, took control of the strategically important bases in the Saudi province, the southwestern region of Asir, Yemen's al-Masirah TV reported on Saturday.

The Yemeni forces set fire to lookout towers and three munitions depots at the Saudi bases. The Ansarullah fighters also destroyed at least 19 military vehicles of Saudi forces in the region.

Several Saudi soldiers are reported to have been killed in the latest operation by the Yemeni forces.

Separately, Ansarullah fighters inflicted heavy losses on Saudi forces after they targeted military installations in the regions of al-Hejlah and Jabal al-Doud in Jizan Province of southern Soddy Arabia

#1  Would I be wrong to consider this and Iranian invasion of KSA?

Who will be the first of the Muslim Fanatics to claim ownership of Mecca?

Is there any real threat to the continuation of the Saud dynasty? Are the Eastern KSA Shia restless?

#2  Would I be wrong to consider this and Iranian invasion of KSA?

Invasion or raids, AlanC? All that destruction sounds more like raids to me. If they were staying, wouldn't they want to have the lookout towers, vehicles, and whatever was in the munitions depots?

#3  Would I be wrong to consider this and Iranian invasion of KSA?

Yes. They're just raids. I surmise what they're going after are border police stations. Wake me up when they go after the main KSA airbase (it's in the western part of the Magic Kingdom.)

Who will be the first of the Muslim Fanatics to claim ownership of Mecca?

I doubt Mecca is in any danger any time soon.

Is there any real threat to the continuation of the Saud dynasty?

Possibly.

Are the Eastern KSA Shia restless?

Not yet. Seems the Iranians are more interested in Bahrain at this point.I suspect they're work obliquely, for a few years at least.

Saudi-led Coalition Pounds Yemen Rebels Ahead of Talks
[AnNahar] Saudi-led coalition warplanes heavily bombarded rebel positions across the Yemeni capital Saturday, ahead of expected U.N.-mediated peace talks, witnesses said.

They targeted arms depots and military camps in the rebel-held capital's northern districts. They also struck the rebel-held presidential residence in Sanaa's southeast and nearby arms depots, witnesses said, adding that warplanes were still overflying the city. There were no immediate details on any casualties.

In the eastern Marib province, where the coalition has been focusing its operations in recent days, pro-government military sources said air strikes on two separate rebel convoys killed at least 23 Death Eaters.

AFP could not confirm the toll from independent sources, and the rebels rarely acknowledge their losses.

Military officials on the Saudi border told AFP that 20 more coalition military vehicles crossed into oil-rich Marib, following at least 40 similar vehicles a day earlier. The reinforcements are being sent in preparation for an offensive to retake the capital, seized by the Shiite Huthi forces of Evil a year ago.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Slats Chumbaloni was staring into a hole that was just .45 inch in diameter and was less than three feet from his face ...
the United Arab Emirates announced that it has now received the remains of all of its "52 deaders" who were killed in a missile strike in Marib last week, according to the official WAM news agency. The UAE had given an earlier toll of 45 of its soldiers lost in the attack. Ten Saudis and five Bahrainis were also killed in the strike, claimed by the Iran-backed Houthis.

The UAE said its jet fighters had carried out several strikes against rebel positions across Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
Friday "targeting the military depots, command and control buildings and Huthi militia strongholds," WAM reported.

The United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
estimates that Yemen's conflict has killed more than 4,500 people since March.

On Thursday, the U.N. special envoy for Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, said the exiled government and rebels had agreed to take part in peace talks in the region next week.

However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
in the absence of any announcement from the rebels, government front man Rajih Badi said he was unsure they would attend the talks, which he said will take place in neutral Oman without specifying a date.

The government of exiled President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi confirmed it will join the talks but insisted that a rebel pullback from areas seized since last year -- as outlined by U.N. Security Council Resolution 2216 -- remained a precondition for negotiations.

The United States has welcomed the announcements.

Yemeni rivals held a round of fruitless U.N.-brokered negotiations in Geneva in June.

ISIS assault defeated by Peshmerga in Tal Afar

Death Eaters launched an assault on a Peshmerga stockade in Gurmz village near Tal Afar, and after three hours of fighting were repelled by Peshmerga forces, according to a Peshmerga official Saturday.

"At 6:15 am, ISIS fighters launched an attack on Peshmerga fronts in Tal Afar," Khawal Khodiayd, the commander of the Peshmerga 1st Battalion in Shingal, told Rudaw.

Khodiayd added the attack did not result in Peshmerga casualties, saying that US-led coalition Arclight airstrikes had cooperated with the Peshmerga to combat ISIS in Tal Afar.

On Friday, The Kurdistan region's Peshmerga forces completed an operation that pushed ISIS Death Eaters out of areas south of Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
military sources told Rudaw.

An area of approximately 150 square kilometers (58 square miles) was recaptured from the Death Eaters as Peshmerga forced ISIS out of 13 villages, the sources said.

The Peshmerga have remained a bulwark against ISIS expansion in northern Iraq ever since the Death Eaters attacked the Kurds in August last year, igniting a war in which some 1,200 Peshmerga have been killed, according to official figures.

11 Dead in Terrorist Shelling on Syria's Damascus
[ALMANAR.LB] Eleven non-combatants were killed in terrorist rocket fire on the Syrian capital Damascus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Saturday.

The Britannia-based monitor said the deaths were in the Duwaylaa neighborhood on the southeastern outskirts of Damascus, adding that most of those killed appeared to be civilians.

At least 20 people were also injured in the Friday shelling, the monitor said.

State news agency SANA said Saturday, citing a police source, that shelling on the area had killed four people and injured 25.

Militants in strongholds on the outskirts of the capital regularly fire rockets into Damascus, often killing scores of civilians.

The shelling on Damascus came as Jaish al-Islam
...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. The group claimed responsibility for carrying out the July 2012 Damascus bombing that killed Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, Deputy Defense Minister Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani. It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra. In Sptember 2013 Saudi Arabia engineered Liwa al-Islam's merger with fifty other more or less Salafist groups as a counterweight to al-Nusra, which the Learned Elders of Islam considered was growing too powereful...
terrorist group that often fires on the capital began an assault on Syria's largest prison. The turbans began the attack on Adra prison near Damascus on Friday, according to the Observatory.

Coalition forces hit 22 Islamic State targets in Iraq, 3 in Syria
[IsraelTimes] Crude oil collection point, APCs, weapons and ammunition caches among targets in latest string of Arclight airstrikes

American and coalition jets struck 22 targets in Iraq and three targets in Syria, according to a press statement from the Department of Defense issued Saturday.

In Syria, fighter jets and unmanned attack vehicles struck two crude oil collection points near Abu Kamal, not far from the Syrian-Iraqi border.

In a separate strike near Al Hasakah, an Arclight airstrike destroyed an Islamic State

boom-mobile, said officers from the high command of Operation Inherent Resolve, as the American campaign against IS is called.

In a much larger string of attacks in Iraq, jets, drones and other aircraft conducted 22 Arclight airstrikes coordinated with the Iraqi government.

Among the targets were Islamic State tactical units, boom-mobiles, anti-artillery systems the terror group had stolen and fighting positions, according to the release.

Among other weapons destroyed was an armored personnel carrier, heavy machine guns and ammunition caches.

According to the blurb from the Department of Defense, the attacks "further limit the terrorist group's ability to project terror and conduct operations."

The members of the coalition fighting in Iraq, apart from the US, are Australia, Canada, Denmark, La Belle France, Jordan, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

In Syria, the strikes were conducted by soldiers from the US, Bahrain, Canada, Jordan, Soddy Arabia

and the United Arab Emirates.

On Wednesday last week, coalition forces bombed a key jihadist command and supply hub in the area of Ramadi, capital of Iraq's Anbar province.

A video of the strike on the football stadium showed a massive secondary kaboom at the site.

"The stadium was a key (IS) command and supply hub in the Ramadi region and was being used to store large amounts of homemade explosives, weapons and ammunition," the coalition said in a statement.

"Destroying this hub will significantly disrupt (IS's) ability to conduct operations and resupply their fighters in Ramadi."
