Dand-e-Ghori On Verge Of Turning Into Taliban Hub: Officials
[Tolo News] Just days after the signing of a controversial deal between the government and Dand-e-Ghori residents in Baghlan province, officials from the local provincial council said that the area is already under the Taliban's control and that the turbans plan to turn the region into a stronghold.

They say the turbans plan to use Dand-e-Ghori to launch attacks on other parts of the province.

"The Taliban flag is waving there and the voice of their anthems which they play over loudspeakers can be heard. They invite the people towards them and they implement their law in Dand-e-Ghori," said Zarif Zarif, member of Baghlan Provincial Council.

"There are thousands of Taliban fighters in Postak bazaar which is their main hub and they perform anti-government activities from there. They are planning to conduct attacks against the Afghan forces from that area," he added.

However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
speaking at a presser on Wednesday, the Minister of Interior Noorulhaq Olomi said that security has been increased in Dand-e-Ghori after the deal was signed between the government and tribal elders in the area.

He said that according to the deal, the locals have promised to not let the Taliban or any hard boy group operate from the area and threaten security.

"As per the promises the locals made to the government delegation, security has been ensured there in Dand-e-Ghori. If there was allegiance to the Taliban flag then the people would not come and sign the deal with the government. They have vowed not to let the Taliban enter the area," Olomi said.

However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
a number of people say the Taliban has already ordered a number of schools in Dand-e-Ghori to cancel two subjects from their curriculum and add other subjects. They have also reportedly banned girls from going to school in the area.

Documents obtained by TOLOnews reveal that the agreement has been signed with the tribal elders. However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
the Baghlan Provincial Council claims the deal is an opportunity to reintroduce Taliban rule in the area.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Big Shirley was still trying to snatch Nunzio bald-headed. She was already halfway there...
those who have signed the deal say the government should remain cautious and should launch clearance operations there.

"Some say that we have handed the area to the Taliban. It will be possible that the Taliban enter the area in future and the commitments are not fulfilled therefore the government should start clearance operations against Death Eaters in the area [Dand-e-Ghori]," said Abdul Samad Stanikzai, head of Baghlan High Peace Council.

According to the Dand-e-Ghori accord, the Afghan cops are not allowed to launch military operations in the area and they cannot arrest anyone without the permission of tribal elders. It is believed that this will give more courage to turbans to extend their activities in the area.

Taliban Kill 2 Farmers in Sar-e-Pul
[Tolo News] Taliban bandidos bully boys have killed two farmers after kidnapping them three days ago.

The farmers, along with two children were en-route to a market in Jawzjan, from Sar-e-Pul, to sell their produce when Taliban bandidos bully boys kidnapped them.

According to a relative of one of the farmers, bandidos bully boys held the men and the two children for three days. He said the Taliban had kidnapped his brother, his brother's two sons and another farmer.

The children were freed after three days but the men were killed.

Mohammad Jafari, the brother of one of the victims, said people are tired of the lack of security and accused government of not being able to provide security to its people.

He said the farmers had been taking onions to Jawzjan to sell.

"My brother along with his two children and a man were kidnaped by the Taliban in Sar-e-Pul and the Taliban released my two nephews but they [Taliban] killed my brother and the other man. We are tired of this situation. If the government cannot provide us with security they should at least tell us to leave," said Jafari.

Locals in the area said that the two farmers were not affiliated to any organization but that they were just farmers, trying to feed their families by growing fresh produce.

The residents said that if the government does not address their problems they will take action themselves.

"If the government does not listen to our complaints we have enough power to defend ourselves but we are not in favor of violence and war but we want everything to be solved through peace," said Qari Rashid one of the residents.

Meanwhile,
...back at the game, the Babe headed for second base. He almost made it. Then Sheila slapped him....
provincial council officials said that one of the reasons behind the increase in such incidents in the province was the lack of security forces in the area to fight the Taliban.

"One of the main reasons that such incidents take place by the anti-government armed opponents is the lack of security forces to combat Taliban and also the poor salaries the police earn," said Mahammad Noor Rahmani the provincial council head.

He said there is a significant difference in pay between Sar-e-Pul coppers and that of Balkh officers. According to him, Sar-e-Pul officers earn on average 7,000 Afs (about $110 USD) a month while Balkh officers get about 12,000 Afs a month.

Officials say that the farmers died during a police operation in the area. Officials said police clashed with the Taliban for hours in the Sayed Abad village. The Taliban however, killed the farmers before fleeing the area.

Benghazi hospitals deny EU claims of civilian airstrike casualties
[Libya Herald] Benghazi hospitals contacted by the Libya Herald say they have received no civilian casualties as a result of the latest military operation launched on Saturday by Khalifa Hafter against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. forces and other Lions of Islam in the city.

"No civilians have been brought to the hospital as the result of the military operation so far," a front man for Benghazi Medical Centre said.

"We have had military casualties but no civilians casualties for the past three days," an official at Jalaa Hospital similarly reported.

Local residents contacted in Leithi also say they know of no civilians being killed or maimed as a result of Operation Hatif (Doom).

In a joint statement on Sunday, hwoever, the ambassadors and representatives at the negotiations on Skhirat from the EU, La Belle France, Germany, Italia, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, the UK and US, condemned what they said were "air strikes against civilian population in Benghazi".

The statement was seen as being in support of a earlier one by UN Special Envoy Bernardino Leon who condemned the operation saying it was an attempt to undermine the Libya Dialogue process.

Both statements have drawn widespread criticism from Libyans who have accused Leon and the ambassadors of bias towards the Islamists. There was no condemnation of the Islamic state's or Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...
's activities in Benghazi in Leon's statement, although he has since spoke against them. There have also been demands for evidence to back up the diplomats' accusations.

The diplomats have since been backtracking on the statement. One diplomat who signed it has since privately told this newspaper that they had initially been told about attacks on civilians, but that this turned out "not to be true".

In Bengahzi, one Leithi resident said that his family had just returned to their home in the north of the district, near Hijaz Street which was the one area there that was now clear of Lions of Islam and the only part of Leithi where civilians were now living. "There have been no bombardments in this part of Leithi."

Another resident whose family home is in Buatni, scene of heavy fighting in the past three days, said that the military had allowed him back to his home there to check it out.

The Libyan Natial Army (LNA) report that as part of Operation Hatif, it has pushed Lions of Islam out of the air defence camp in Buatni and thethe areas around the Pepsi factory. Ansar, however, still controls part of Buatni.

Injured in Kufra fighting airlifted to Misrata
[Libya Herald] Two planes carrying 28 people injured in the festivities in the southeastern oasis of Kufra arrived in Misrata today, taking them to hospital in the city. They are said to include both civilians and well as gunnies from both side in the resurgent fighting there between Tebus and Zwais.

The town's Zwai-dominated council has accused Tebus ,supported by compatriots from Chad and members of the bad boy Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) from Sudan's Darfur region, of launching the attacks in the town. Exasperated with the lack of help from the Libyan authorties, it has also threatened to call in assistance from Egypt and Sudan to deal with the fighting.

Tebu sources from the town have confirmed the council's version of events to the Libya Herald, saying that the fighters from Chad were "renegade gangs", interested only in money.

JEM, a Darfur liberation movement, was supported by Qadaffy against the Sudanese government. During the revolution, he then used it to launch attacks on Kufra, which had risen up against him.

Egypt security forces detain more Muslim Brotherhood supporters
[Iran Press TV] Egyptian security forces have detained dozens more of Moslem Brüderbund supporters during protests across the country, signaling that the country's military-backed government has stepped up its crackdown on the movement, Press TV reports.

Large crowds of protesters held a series of massive rallies in several areas to express outrage against the government of President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi on Thursday, the day which coincided with the Eid al-Adha (the Feast of Sacrifice).

In the second-largest city of Alexandria, police used tear gas and bird shots to disperse protesters and incarcerated

nearly 30 people.

Separately, security forces attacked demonstrators in the Giza district of Nahia, and in the 6th of October city bordering the capital, Cairo.

Police also detained seven protesters including some youths in the provinces of Fayoum and Bani Suef.

It was in July and during another Moslem holiday when police brutality took its toll on the lives of Egyptians. Six people were killed following a series of festivities between police and protesters on July 17, the day when Moslems celebrated Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

The Egyptian government has criminalized street protests, sentenced hundreds to death in mass trials and imprisoned thousands of political opponents and their supporters.

Egypt has been struck by violence ever since Mohammed Morsi, the country's first democratically-elected president, was toppled by the military under the leadership of Sisi in July 2013.

Africa Subsaharan
Over 20 Killed in Market Bombing in NE Nigeria
[AnNahar] More than 20 people were killed in a kaboom in the garrison town of Monguno in remote northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
, witnesses and the country's main relief agency said on Wednesday.

Ibrahim Abdulkadir, northeast coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), said "between 25 and 28" were killed in Sunday night's attack while locals said at least 21 died.

News of the blast was slow to emerge because of poor communications with the remote town, which is some 140 kilometers (87 miles) by road from the Borno state capital, Maiduguri.

Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
faceless myrmidons captured Monguno after what is thought to be the group's deadliest strike in the six-year insurgency in the nearby town of Baga, on Lake Chad, in January when hundreds died.

The army has since regained control of the town, which is home to Nigeria's national security adviser Babagana Monguno.

Abdulkadir said Sunday's blast was caused by a jacket wallah but local trader Alamin Ahamad said: "We strongly suspect the bomb was concealed like merchandise in a sack and dropped at the market.

"It later went kaboom! and killed many people. Personally I participated in the evacuation of 21 people. I left others still doing the work. I was overwhelmed by emotion."

Muhutari Dan Niger said the blast "destroyed most of the shops around the scene", adding: "I saw at least 23 dead bodies and over 20 with various injuries."

The Borno state police was not immediately available for comment.
"I can say no more!"
when contacted by AFP.

Arabia
ISIS hits famous mosque in Yeman - dozens dead
[BBC] A suicide bomb attack on a mosque in Yemen's capital Sanaa has left at least 25 people dead and wounded at least 36.

Two explosions struck the al-Balili mosque as worshippers were performing prayers for the Eid al-Adha festival.

The so-called Islamic State (IS) militant group said it had carried out the bombing.

One suicide bomber reportedly detonated explosives inside the mosque and, as people fled, a second bomber set off explosives at the entrance.

Sanaa has been hit by a series of bomb attacks, many of them claimed by IS, which follows its own extreme version of Sunni Islam.
Rudaw adds:
The blasts targeted Al-Balili Mosque in the Al-Safya district on the first day of the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday.

According to some news agencies, the Al-Balili Mosque is run by Shiite Houthis.
And Yahoo News adds:
The Yemen-based Islamic State affiliate claimed responsibility for the blast, saying it was targeting the country's Shiite rebels.

's southeastern Siirt, Bingöl and Diyarbakir provinces.

Two soldiers were maimed at a potable water pumping station along Kezer Creek 10 kilometers away from Siirt's center when PKK snuffies attacked a group of soldiers. The soldiers were standing guard to protect the water supply of the city when they were attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and long-barreled weapons in the afternoon of Sept. 23. The group of soldiers responded to the attack.

The maimed soldiers were immediately hospitalized and were reportedly in good condition.

Later in the day, PKK snuffies fired rocket-propelled grenades at an armored police vehicle on its way to intervene with PKK members who had blocked a main road linking Bingöl to neighboring Elazig.

The Bingöl-Elazig road was blocked by PKK snuffies at around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, and the police were notified. The coppers inside the armored vehicle were on their way to intervene in the situation when they were attacked. Three coppers and one civilian, a driver passing by as the incident occurred, were maimed in the attack.

The maimed were taken to Bingöl State Hospital. Two of the coppers received ambulatory treatment, while the other police officer and the civilian were given inpatient treatment.

In Diyarbakir's Baglar district, a 15-year-old teenager, identified as E.A., was maimed when PKK snuffies staged an attack with a handmade grenade.

The teenager was on the street to do some shopping when the grenade detonated and injured his feet. Police launched an operation to find the perpetrators.

Warplanes of the international coalition bombed the districts of Bab Jdeed, Mansoura and Sinaa Qadimah in Mosul. The targets had recently witnessed intensive military activities by the ISIS radical group.

"The targeted districts include main ISIS headquarters," media activist Abu al-Hakam told ARA News in Mosul. "The coalition hit direct targets for ISIS killing and wounding hundreds of gunnies in two days."

"The hospitals of Mosul received corpses of 171 ISIS members on Thursday. They were all killed during the Arclight airstrikes," he said. "Dozens others were killed during operations by Iraqi forces near Baiji, south of Mosul."

A medical source in Mosul confirmed the death of dozens of ISIS gunnies after being hardly injured during the strikes on Thursday.

ISIS has silently buried 66 bodies of its gunnies in a mass grave in the western countryside of Mosul, the source told ARA News.

This comes only two days after the Lion of Islam group bombed the airport of Mosul and the military bases of Rafidain and Baghdadi in Tel Afar, in an attempt to prevent Iraqi army from using them in the expected anti-ISIS military campaign in Mosul.

ISIS has been fortifying Mosul city for months in preparation for a potential military campaign by the Iraqi army forces, which have vowed earlier to retake the city from the Death Eater group in cooperation with the Kurdish Peshmerga forces and the U.S.-led coalition.

The Iraqi army has recently taken over Baiji area south of Mosul after fierce battles with ISIS fighters.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Kurdish forces report new gains against ISIS near Hasakah
[ARA] Kurdish forces of the People's Protection Units (YPG) reported progress against murderous Moslem fighters of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) in the northeastern Syrian province of Hasakah, military sources said on Wednesday.

The YPG regained the villages of Tananir and Umm Hajar in the vicinity of Tel Brak town in the eastern countryside of Hasakah.

Speaking to ARA News, YPG front man Sipan Derki said: "Our forces regained the two villages after fierce festivities with ISIS terrorists."

ISIS murderous Moslems had evacuated their headquarters in Tananir and Umm Hajar amid intensive shelling by the Kurdish forces.

"At least seven bad boyz were potted and dozens maimed during the festivities," Derki said. "Our (YPG) fighters have also destroyed an ISIS vehicle and seized a large deal of ammunition."

Two Kurdish fighters were maimed in Wednesday's festivities, according to the source.

In the meantime, warplanes of the U.S.-led international coalition targeted ISIS tactical units in the vicinity of al-Hawl town near the border with Iraq.

"The U.S.-led forces hit ISIS tactical units near al-Hawl with three Arclight airstrikes, destroying two vehicles and killing several murderous Moslems," media activist Muhammad al-Ahmed told ARA News in Hasakah.

The coalition has also targeted ISIS fighting positions on the outskirts of Shaddadi town south of Hasakah with several Arclight airstrikes on Wednesday.

"The U.S.-led coalition bombed three ISIS targets near Shaddadi, killing and injuring at least 15 murderous Moslems," the source reported.

Ancient city of Palmyra under fire
[ARA] More than 100 people were killed, including 30 civilians and 70 ISIS fighters, in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra under Arclight airstrikes by Syrian air forces, activists said on Wednesday.

The Syrian warplanes have intensified operations on the ISIS-held city of Palmyra since Friday.

"The air force used barrel bombs and missiles in Palmyra bombardment," media activist Ali Nassar told ARA News on the phone.

The raids coincided with a mass displacement among civilians.

"Most of the residents escaped the city as the continuous strikes caused the destruction of dozens of houses and many casualties among civilians," Nassar reported.

"30 civilian deaths were documented, beside the killing of at least 70 ISIS fighters in the recent strikes," the source said.
