Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
city.

A statement was released by the terror group which circulated online by the sympathizers of the group claiming responsibility behind the attack.

The statement in Arabic language states that the attack on the religious hall was carried out using four bombs.

This was the first attack claimed by the terror group which targets a religious congregation hall where Shi'ite Muslims are gathering.

The group claimed that numerous people were killed or injured in the attack but the security officials said one person was killed and three others including a woman were maimed.

Deputy security chief for Kabul security commandment Syed Gul Aqa Rohani told news hounds that three magnetic bombs were planted near Chendawol religious hall which went off earlier this afternoon.

This comes as a group of two gunnies launched an attack on a restaurant in the 3rd police district of Kabul city on Thursday evening.

The two heavily armed gunnies were rubbed out by the security forces as soon as they started firing on the guests which left at least two people dead and three others maimed.

Libya Agrees New National Unity Government
[ALMANAR.LB] Libya has agreed to form a new national government headed by Prime Minister Fayez el-Sarraj after months of tortuous negotiations, United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
envoy Bernardino Leon said Friday.

"After a year of work on this process, after working with more than 150 Libyan personalities from all the regions, finally the moment has come in which we can propose a national unity government," Leon told a news conference in Morocco.

Libya, which plunged into chaos after the fall of Muammar Qadaffy
...The late megalomaniac dictator of Libya, admired everywhere for his garish costumes, funny hats, harem of cutie bodyguards, and incoherent ravings. As far as is known, he is the only person who's ever declared jihad on Switzerland...
in 2011, has had two rival parliaments vying for power as well as several groups battling for control of the country's vast resource wealth.

The internationally recognized government of Abdullah al-Thani has been working out of the small eastern port of Tobruk near the Egyptian border since a militia alliance, including Islamists, captured Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
last year.

Previous deals to ensure a ceasefire and restore stability to the war-torn country have fallen apart.

But Leon said he believed the make-up of the new government, which would include deputy prime ministers Ahmad Meitig, Fathi el-Mejbri and Mussa el-Kouni, would succeed.

"Far too many Libyans have bit the dust and so many mothers have suffered. Today, nearly 2.4 million Libyans need humanitarian aid," he said.

"We believe (this government) can succeed. The Libyans must seize this historic opportunity to save Libya."

Speaking to state-run news agency

SABA, the source stated that the Saudi-led coalition units tried to sneak into Bab al-Mandeb strait, with the help of heavy fire cover by the aggression warplanes and warships.

Yemeni Army, Committees Down Saudi Spy Drone in Saada
[ALMANAR.LB] Yemeni army soldiers backed by fighters from popular committees have shot down a Saudi spy drone in the country's northwestern province of Saada.

A Yemeni military source, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, told Arabic-language Khabar news agency that the Yemeni forces targeted the remote-controlled unmanned aerial vehicle on Friday as it was flying over Kataf district in the arid and mountainous province, which lies 240 kilometers (150 miles) north of the capital, Sanaa.Yemeni Army, Committees Down Saudi Spy Drone in Saada

The small drone was later identified as a long-endurance Boeing Insitu ScanEagle.

ScanEagle carries a stabilized electro-optical and/or infrared camera on a lightweight inertial stabilized turret system, and an integrated communications system having a range of over 62 miles (100 km); it has a flight endurance of over 20 hours.

ScanEagle needs no airfield for deployment. Instead, it is launched using a pneumatic launcher, patented by Insitu, known as the "SuperWedge" launcher.

It is not the first time that the army and the popular committees down a hostile spy drone in Yemen.

On July 6, a Saudi unmanned aerial vehicle was downed while conducting a surveillance mission in Yemen's northwestern province of Saada.

The development came less than a day after Yemeni forces had targeted another Saudi surveillance drone in the southeastern province of Dhamar.

In early May, Ansarullah revolutionary fighters took possession of a Saudi surveillance drone, which had parachute-landed in Saada due to a technical glitch.

The Grand Turk
Arrest warrant issued for Today's Zaman editor-in-chief
[Hurriyet Daily News] An arrest warrant was issued for Today's Zaman Editor-in-Chief Bulent Kenes on Oct. 9 after the case's prosecutor objected to a decision by the court to release the journalist on probation.

"Along with the journalistic greats who were sentenced today, I was also granted the chance to put my arrest warrant on the headline. That is the irony of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
!" tweeted Kenes after the court's decision.

Kenes was released on probation on Oct. 8 after he was sent to court with a demand for his arrest for allegedly defaming Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
on Twitter. The prosecutor's office had sent Kenes to court with a demand for his arrest while he was in the office to testify.

"Press prosecutor Umut Tepe has sent me to court for arrest for defaming the president ... in my Twitter posts," Kenes tweeted before the court ruling.

"I will continue to fight for democracy and freedom until the last moment. You will not be able to silence a free soul even if you put it in prison," he wrote.

Today's Zaman, which is the English version of the Turkish language daily Zaman, is allegedly close to the movement of U.S.-based Islamic scholar Fethullah Gulen.

Following stunning corruption allegations in 2013 against Erdogan's inner circle, thousands of alleged members of Gulen's movement were purged from the police force and judiciary.

Hidayet Karaca, the head of Samanyolu Broadcasting Group, also linked to the Gulen movement, has been under arrest since Dec. 14, 2014, on charges of terrorism.

IOF Kills Six Palestinians in Clashes on Gaza Border
[ALMANAR.LB] Israeli fire killed six Paleostinians and maimed scores during festivities Friday near Gazoo's border, medics said.

Ahmed al-Hirbawi, Shadi Dawla, Abed al-Wahidi and Nabil Sharaf, all aged 20, were martyred in clsashes with occupation forces on the border between the occupied territories and Khan Yunis, Gazoo medics said.

Mohammed al-Raqab, 15, and Adnan Abu Alian, 20, were also martyred in similar festivities east of Gazoo City.

Medics said another 80 Paleostinians were maimed, 10 of them seriously.
"Ow! Ow! I stubbed my toe!"
"And I have a hangnail! Medic!!"
The festivities in Gazoo took place as Paleostinians in West Bank are engaged in similar festivities with occupation forces over Israeli restrictions on Paleostinians' access to al-Aqsa Mosque.

Occupation authorities have been preventing Paleostinians from entering al-Aqsa, as well as supporting Zionist settlers in storming the holy mosque, prompting Paleostinian anger and stabbing attacks against the Israelis.

Meanwhile,
...back at the game, the Babe headed for second base. He almost made it. Then Sheila slapped him....
Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,'s Gazoo chief Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
called the festivities taking place between Paleostinians and occupation forces in West Bank Intifada or uprising.

In a sermon for weekly Muslim prayers at a mosque in Gazoo City, Haniyeh said "we are calling for the strengthening and increasing of the intifada."

"It is the only path that will lead to liberation," he said. "Gazoo will fulfil its role in the Jerusalem intifada and it is more than ready for confrontation."

Stabbing attacks in the West Bank, Jerusalem and Israel itself along with rioting have raised Israeli fears of a third Paleostinian intifada, following a first that began in 1987 and a second in 2000.
The Times of Israel provides the Israeli perspective on the Gaza incident:
At least six Paleostinians from the Gazoo Strip were killed and 19 hurt when IDF soldiers opened fire on a crowd of protesters from Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, and Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
as they approached the border fence with Israel on Friday, Gazoo medics said.

One of those killed was a 15-year-old boy,
...who would not have been killed had he stayed at home instead of playing at being a grown man...
officials in the Hamas-run Gazoo Strip said.

The incident began with some 200 Paleostinians approaching the security fence in northern Gazoo, closest to Kibbutz Nahal Oz.

"They began throwing stones and rolling burning tires at Israeli forces," an Israeli army spokesperson said. She told the Paleostinian news agency Ma'an that IDF forces responded with live fire towards the "main instigators," and confirmed five direct hits.

The troops, who remained on the Israeli side of the border, shot up the protesters, who were approximately 150 feet (50 meters) away, in order to break up the protest and push them from the fence, she said.

The protesters were from Hamas, the Islamic Jihad and other groups in the Strip, Arabic news outlets reported.
Interesting photo at the link of one of the Gazans swinging the kind of sling David used to slay Goliath. Throwing stones takes on an entirely different complexion when slings are used.

Southeast Asia
Italian ex-priest kidnapped in Zamboanga
[Gulf Today] At least seven heavily-armed men, four posing as customers, seized a former Italian priest who owned and operated a pizzeria in Mindanao's Zamboanga del Norte province.

Police chief Ranie Hachuela said the abduction of Rolando del Torchio happened on Wednesday night in Dipolog City before horrified diners in the popular restaurant. He said, "Four of the seven abductors even posed as customers and ordered food from the victim before their other companions barged in and dragged him to a waiting white van."

Hachuela said the suspects abandoned the van a kilometer away and boarded two pump boats that immediately headed out to sea. He recalled that when Torchio was still a priest assigned to Zamboanga del Norte, he had successfully warded off attempts to abduct him.

No group has yet taken responsibility for the kidnapping but Hachuela said they were not discounting the possibility of the involvement of the Abu Sayyaf.

Russia said its warplanes also dropped precision guided bombs on a command post in ISIL stronghold Raqa, killing two senior IS field commanders and some 200 murderous Moslems.

The strikes also destroyed six command posts and communication centers, six ammunition depots, 17 training camps, three underground targets in Latakia, two multiple artillery rocket systems and 17 vehicles and armoured vehicles, among other targets, the military said.

"In the vicinity of Aleppo, a strike hit a murderous Moslems' base and ammunition depot set up in the building of a former prison," Makushev.

"As a result, some 100 bully boyz and an ammunition depot have been destroyed."

'Tank massacre': Rebels hit Syrian forces hard after initial offensive
The Syrian government's massive offensive in northern Hama has suffered an initial setback after multiple armored vehicles were destroyed in a melee of anti-tank guided-missile fire that activist media dubbed a "tank massacre."

The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights reported that rebel fighters in the north Hama region had met the joint Russian-Syrian assault by targeting the attacking regime forces on the ground "with US-made TOW missiles and other guided rockets, which caused the destruction of over 15 armored cars, vehicles and tanks."

Ankara explosion: 30 dead at rally in Turkish capital
[BBC] Two explosions at a peace rally in the Turkish capital Ankara have killed at least 30 people and injured 126, the interior ministry says.

TV footage shows scenes of panic and people lying on the ground covered in blood, amid protest banners.

The blasts took place near the city's central train station as people gathered for a march organised by leftist groups.

Government officials say the blasts were a terrorist attack, and are investigating reports that a suicide bomber was behind at least one of the explosions.

#7  death toll rising 97 killed (sky news australia)
media reports Turkish authorities as LYING and saying suicide bombers could be EITHER Kurdish rebels or Islamic State

when we all know it is Islamic State as the kurds declared a ceasefire.

and we know the kurds would not be bombing their own people protesting against the Islamist Erdogan government which has been supporting the Islamist agenda

brace yourselves for Islamophobia claims
