Amarillo, TX Walmart has immediate job opening
[Fox] A SWAT team shot and killed an armed suspect who took hostages at a Walmart in Amarillo, Texas Tuesday afternoon, investigators confirmed, saying all the hostages are now safe.

Police identified the gunman late Tuesday as 54-year-old Mohammad Moghaddam.

Moghaddam, who was an employee at that Walmart, took two other workers hostage, local media reported. One of the hostages was the store manager, relatives told the Amarillo Globe-News.

"We do consider this a work-place violence situation at this point," the sheriff's office said. City officials first reported an "active shooter incident" at 12:30 p.m. local time.

Police earlier said they were looking for a Somali man wearing khaki pants, KFDA added. Officers reportedly were evacuating shoppers from the west side of the store in the Texas Panhandle.
48 hour rule: might be WoT related, might not.
Update at 3:36 p.m. ET: according to Heavy.com, the gentleman was angry at being passed over for promotion, is aged 54, and emigrated from Iran with his family eight years ago.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Hack the Pentagon uncovers over 100 vulnerabilities in DoD systems
The "Hack the Pentagon" program has proved to be a success with over 100 vulnerabilities uncovered by security researchers.

In a matter of weeks, bug bounty hunters tested the US Department of Defenses's computer systems and found a torrent of security flaws, as reported by RT. In total, over 1,400 hackers were awarded upwards of $15,000 for the most destructive bugs.

Finding so many vulnerabilities has proved to be a success, but has also highlighted just how weak the government's systems appear to be. Considering that the hackers were only permitted access to specific systems in a controlled manner -- which did not include any important or critical systems -- you have to wonder what other vulnerabilities are lurking in the US government networks.

The Hack the Pentagon project, hosted on bug bounty platform HackerOne, ran from April 18 to May 12, 2016. The program was designed to be a way for the US government to "explore new approaches to its cybersecurity challenges and evolve to adopt the best practices used by the most successful and secure software companies in the world," but also, bug bounties can prove to be a less expensive way to keep on top of cybersecurity concerns.

At the Defense One conference in Washington, DC on Friday, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said:

"They are helping us to be more secure at a fraction of the cost. And in a way that enlists the brilliance of the white hatters, rather than waits to learn the lessons of the black hatters."

The Pentagon's bug bounty program has emerged as the practice of offering financial rewards to external researchers for bug reports becomes more commonplace. Google, Tesla, Microsoft, Facebook and Twitter are just a handful of technology giants which run similar programs, resulting in thousands of dollars being issued every year in payouts.

Earlier this month, Carter revealed plans to fast-track civilians with high levels of skill in areas including cybersecurity into top positions in the US military as part of a proposal called Force of the Future.

Anonymous Hacker Hijacks Pro-Isis Twitter Accounts And Tweets Gay Pron And LGBT Pride Messages
An Anonymous hacker is hijacking the Twitter accounts of ISIS supporters and flooding their profiles with pro-LGBT messages and links to graphic gay porn in the wake of the deadly Orlando attack.

The hacker, only known as WauchulaGhost , has tweeted several pictures showing hijacked accounts which appear to be owned by Islamic State extremists who have been promoting jihadist ideology and sharing images of mutilated bodies.

Their profile pictures have been changed to images containing slogans like 'I'm gay and proud' and their cover photos replaced by canoodling semi-naked men.

The images they post are highly offensive to ISIS supporters as they follow a strict twisted interpretation of Islam.
[Snicker]
"I did it for the lives lost in Orlando," the hacker told Newsweek, referencing the massacre of 49 people.

Very, very sad news at Disney, Orlando
[ABC] A search is underway for a 2-year-old boy who was dragged by an alligator into the water Tuesday evening at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Orlando, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. and, despite the hours-long search for the boy, officials remain optimistic.

"We are very hopeful and hoping for the best," Jeff Williamson of the Orange County Sheriff's Office said at a news conference this morning.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A married woman was reportedly rubbed out by relatives as she was attempting to elope with a man in western Ghor province of Afghanistan.

The official further added that the woman was jugged

No one has been arrested in connection to the murder of the women so far, the official added.

Caribbean-Latin America
Venezuela's Maduro Seeks to Block Recall Vote
[An Nahar] Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's allies asked the Supreme Court on Monday to block a bid to call a referendum on sacking him, accusing the opposition of "fraud."

The move casts doubt on the recall vote sought by the opposition, which accuses the high court of pro-Maduro bias and has clashed with it repeatedly since winning control of congress in December.

Maduro's opponents warn Venezuela risks exploding into unrest without a vote on sacking the leftist leader, whom they blame for an economic crisis marked by severe shortages of food, medicine and electricity.

The opposition is racing to call a referendum by the end of the year, and has submitted a petition with 1.8 million signatures to start the lengthy process.

But Jorge Rodriguez, the head of a panel appointed by Maduro to oversee the recall push, said he had filed a complaint asking the Supreme Court to "protect Venezuelans' constitutional rights" by intervening.

Electoral authorities have accepted 1.3 million signatures submitted by the opposition as valid -- well above the threshold of 200,000.

Last week, they said they would proceed to the next stage: verifying those 1.3 million signatories' identity with fingerprint scans from June 20 to 24.

Speaking to journalists outside the Supreme Court, Rodriguez said it would be "perpetrating a brutal fraud to authorize (the opposition) to proceed to the next stage."

Non-Praying People are 'Animals', Turkish Academic Says on State TV
[An Nahar] A Turkish professor sparked a furore in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
Monday by branding people who don't pray as "animals", on a state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
program celebrating the holy Moslem fasting month of Ramadan.

"Let me put it straight, the verse of the Koran says... animals do not perform prayers and those who do not perform prayers are animals," Mustafa Askar said during the show aired on the state-run TRT television over the weekend.

Askar said human beings are the only creatures whose foreheads incline to allow the prostration of prayer.

"Human beings were created to be prayer ergonomic," said Askar, professor at Ankara University's Faculty of Theology.

With controversy growing, Turkey's religious affairs directorate, Diyanet, said it was "unacceptable" to insult people by targeting their freedom of faith.

"The place, importance and value of prayers in our religion are known by everyone," Diyanet said in a statement on its Twitter account.

"But it is unacceptable to denigrate or insult people by targeting their freedom of faith and worshiping."

Diyanet also said the professor's inference from Koranic verses "does not bode well with Islam's language of wisdom and its messages of mercy."

#1  Does this make him a "Radical Islamist", or does this make him a regular Muslim?

The only difference between Shia and Sunni is an argument about the line of succession. The Koran is the same for both.

“Islamic Refugee” With Gas Pipeline Plans Arrested in New Mexico Border County
Not WOT just yet?...
Police in a U.S. town bordering Mexico have apprehended an undocumented, Middle Eastern woman in possession of the region's gas pipeline plans, law enforcement sources tell Judicial Watch. Authorities describe the woman as an "Islamic refugee" pulled over during a traffic stop by a deputy sheriff in Luna County, New Mexico which shares a 54-mile border with Mexico. County authorities alerted the U.S. Border Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTF) has been deployed to the area to investigate,
and deny
sources with firsthand knowledge of the probe confirm.

The gas pipeline plans in the woman's possession include the Deming region, law enforcement sources say. Deming is a Luna County city situated about 35 miles north of the Mexican border and 60 miles west of Las Cruces. It has a population of about 15,000. Last year one local publication listed Deming No. 1 on a list of the "ten worst places" to live in New Mexico due to high unemployment, poverty, crime and a horrible public education system. The entire region is a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), according to the Justice Department's National Drug Intelligence Center due to the large amounts of methamphetamines, heroin, cocaine and marijuana smuggled through the state by Mexican traffickers. Specifically, the renowned Juarez and Sinaloa cartels operate in the area, the feds affirm in a report.

Judicial Watch has broken a number of stories in the last few years about Mexican drug traffickers smuggling Islamic terrorists into the United States through the porous southern border. Last summer high-level sources on both sides of the Mexico-U.S. border offered alarming details about an operation in which cartels smuggle foreigners from countries with terrorist links into a small Texas rural town near El Paso. Classified as Special Interest Aliens (SIA) by the U.S. government, the foreigners get transported to stash areas in Acala, a rural crossroads located around 54 miles from El Paso on a state road – Highway 20. Once in the U.S., the SIAs wait for pick-up in the area's sand hills just across Highway 20.
No reason to close the border, or build a wall (physical or electronic)....
A few months ago Judicial Watch reported that members of a cell of Islamic terrorists stationed in Mexico cross into the U.S. to explore targets for future attacks with the help of Mexican drug traffickers. Among the jihadists that travel back and forth through the porous southern border is a Kuwaiti named Shaykh Mahmood Omar Khabir, an ISIS operative who lives in the Mexican state of Chihuahua not far from El Paso, Texas. Khabir trained hundreds of Al Qaeda fighters in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen and has lived in Mexico for more than a year, according to Judicial Watch's high-level Homeland Security sources. Now Khabir trains thousands of men‐mostly Syrians and Yemenis‐to fight in an ISIS base situated in the Mexico-U.S. border region near Ciudad JuĂĄrez. Khabir actually brags in a European newspaper article about how easy it is to stake out American targets because the border region is wide open. In the same story Foreign Affairs Secretary Claudia Ruiz, Mexico's top diplomat, says she doesn't understand why the Obama administration and the U.S. media are "culpably neglecting this phenomenon," adding that "this new wave of fundamentalism could have nasty surprises in store for the United States."

This recent New Mexico incident brings to mind a story Judicial Watch broke less than a year ago involving five young Middle Eastern men apprehended by Border Patrol in an Arizona town (Amado) situated about 30 miles from the Mexican border. Two of the Middle Eastern men were carrying stainless steel cylinders in backpacks, alarming Border Patrol officials enough to call the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for backup. A multitude of federal agents descended on the property and the two men carrying the cylinders were believed to be taken into custody by the FBI. Only three of the men's names were entered in the Border Patrol's E3 reporting system, which is used by the agency to track apprehensions, detention hearings and removals of illegal immigrants. E3 also collects and transmits biographic and biometric data including fingerprints for identification and verification of individuals encountered at the border. The other two men were listed as "unknown subjects," which is unheard of. "In all my years I've never seen that before," a veteran federal law enforcement agent told Judicial Watch.

Pakistan Cop Accused of Beating Hindu Man for Not Fasting
[An Nahar] Pak police have jugged

a fellow officer after he was accused of beating up an elderly Hindu man for not fasting during Ramadan, an incident that sparked a social media outcry.

The elderly man was pictured bloodied after the attack which reportedly took place in Ghotki district of Sindh province on Saturday just before sunset. The images were widely shared over the weekend.

Activists and outraged Paks using the hashtag #JusticeforGokalDas called for the officer who allegedly attacked him to be arrested.

"Religion doesn't mean forced fasting & terrorizing the weak. Shame on those who did this," tweeted one Pak user.

"Deplorable! Non-muslims should be allowed to eat food anytime they want. Stop terrorizing them," said another.

Bilawal Bhutto, son of Pakistain's slain prime minister Benazir, later tweeted that the police officer had been taken into custody.

Local police confirmed the arrest and told AFP an inquiry was being conducted.

"Strict action will be taken against the police official and a police brass hat will go to meet the victim and seek an apology to give a better image of the police to the public," a statement said.

Case registered against JUI-F senator for verbally abusing female analyst
[DAWN] The capital territory police on Tuesday started the paperwork but haven't done much else against Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam
...a pak religious party. It is usually part of the govt, never part of the solution...
(Fazl) Senator Hafiz Hamdullah, who allegedly misbehaved with rights activist Marvi Sirmed during a TV talk show a few days back.

The case was registered against Hafiz Hamdullah under Section 394, 506 at Kohsar cop shoppe over charges of threatening and misbehaving with a woman.

Police had delayed the filing of the case due to their failure to obtain footage of the show they wanted to watch before registering the report. But finally, after watching the footage of the said show, the case was registered.

According to the standard operating procedure (SOP), the Senate chairman had been informed about the incident, police claims.

Sirmed alleged that police were not cooperating with her and said that she had decided to approach a court to seek registration of her FIR.

The JUI-F senator has reportedly used abusive language against Sirmed during a television show last week, thus triggering uproar on social media.

The show aired on private television channel NewsOne was debating recent honour killings in Pakistain when JUI-F Senator Hafiz Hamdullah got angry over Sirmed for what he believed was her support for the comments of Barrister Masroor, a panelist in the programme, over a lack of reaction from the Council Of Islamic Ideology on these killings.

Hamdullah was of the view that Barrister Masroor should not have used the words 'pee k soey hue hain' (sleeping after getting intoxicated) for the CII chairman and his fellow JUI-F member Maulana Sherani.

"I won't allow you to speak if you are supporting his words," Hamdullah said to Sirmed.

The argument between Hamdullah and Sirmed resulted in an exchange of hot words between the rights activist and the politician.

The questionable language was omitted from the transmission. However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
Sirmed in her Facebook post claimed that Hamdullah began verbally abusing her with the worst possible expletives and tried to physically attack her as well.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Council of Boskone, Kinnison began his slow infiltration of the sewer system...
Pakistain Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has sent a notice to NewsOne for airing a heated verbal exchange ‐ including censored words/phrases ‐ between Hafiz Hamdullah and Marvi Sirmed on June 10.

The body called for, "an explanation defending the decision to air the exchange," by June 17, or the news organization could face a fine of Rs one million or cancellation of the talk show.

The notice, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, accuses the talk show host of "not exercising control over the guests".

"The threats and insults were deliberately allowed to escalate to the point that Hafiz Hamdullah may have physically attacked Marvi Sirmed had another guest not intervened," said Pemra in its notice.
