Afghan officials: ISIS expands presence in restive south
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The ISIS group, which has been building a presence in Afghanistan for more than a year, has established a recruitment and training camp in a restive southern province bordering Pakistain, Afghan officials said.

Last year, hundreds of holy warriors fled to Afghanistan from neighboring Pakistain, where the military launched a campaign to clear bully boyz from the lawless tribal regions in the country’s north. Among them were members of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, who joined forces with local Taliban fighters to attack northern Afghan cities such as Kunduz, which was briefly overrun in September.

The Pak military campaign also caused around 400 families loyal to the ISIS group to flee to Afghanistan, Afghan authorities said. The families, many of them Arabs and Chechens, settled in the southern province of Zabul, in the district of Khak-e-Afghan, a former Taliban stronghold with a history of holy warrior violence that has made it a no-go area for Afghan cops.

Yemen PM arrives in Cairo, to meet with Sisi
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr has arrived in Cairo to meet with Egyptian officials, including President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, reported the state news agency MENA on Sunday.

Bin Daghr said in a statement that Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
is "keen" to "activate relations" with the Egyptian government through talks with Egypt’s Prime Minister Sherif Ismail.

He also hailed Cairo’s support to the "legitimate" leadership of Yemen’s President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi and its participation in the Saudi-led Arab Coalition fighting Iran-backed Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militias.

formed the coalition and launched a campaign of air strikes in March 2015 to push the Houthis back. The Houthis attempted a coup to topple Hadi’s internationally recognized government.

The premier’s visit to Cairo comes after peace talks between Yemen’s warring sides in Kuwait failed to bring a breakthrough in early August.

UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh, Ahmed, however, said negotiation between the two sides will resume within a month.

The UN envoy said the location for the next round of Yemeni peace talks will be decided later.

Islamic State fighters fleeing besieged Libyan city could cross the Mediterranean in migrant boats, Italy warns
[TELEGRAPH.CO.UK] Isil fighters who have been routed from their former stronghold of Sirte in Libya could try to enter Europe by hiding among migrants colonists heading across the Mediterranean in smugglers’ boats, Italia has warned.
Precisely who in Italia?
Hundreds of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) fighters are fleeing Sirte after coming under sustained assault by Libyan ground forces and air strikes by US fighter jets and drones.
Yep. Gettin' the M.C. Hammer pants beat off 'em.
There is now a much greater risk that some turbans could attempt to pass themselves off as migrants colonists or refugees, according to the head of the parliamentary committee that oversees the Italian intelligence services.

If they were successful in reaching Italia, the Isil members could plan attacks on targets in Europe.
They could plan them, perhaps, but there are a number of facts mitigating against success.

1. If they're departing in a flotilla of boats, probably with human shields, the flotilla of boats could be sunk by the Mighty Italiano Navy, too bad about the human shields.

2. If they leave in small groups they can be sunk in small groups easier than if they were in big groups.

3. If they leave one boat at a time the majority of the bastards will be wiped out covering the departure of the Big Turbans, who're never the last to leave.

4. Those not sunk can be arrested when they land. Modern nations have surveillance aircraft to track that sort of thing.

5. You don't lug tanks and heavy weapons with you when you're fleeing for your life, especially in oversized rubber rafts They'll have to start over from scratch in the terrorism business.

I could probably come up with more points, but I'm not thinking real hard on the subject. You could probably ask any survivors of the Dunkirk evacuations how much they took with them and how many boats were required.

The thing is, the Europeans have been sending naval ships out into the Mediterranean Sea to rescue foundering migrant boats... and bringing the migrants to refugee centers in Europe, rather than taking them back to their starting point. They aren't going to start sinking boats now, nor returning them to North Africa, no matter how certain it might be that the people in them are very bad, indeed.

Coalition says deadly Yemen raid hit rebels, not school
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Saudi-led coalition on Sunday denied targeting a school in Yemen’s rebel-held north in an attack that an international relief agency said killed 10 children.

"The coalition denied targeting a school," coalition front man General Ahmed Assiri said in an English-language statement to AFP.

"The aircraft has bombed a training camp for the coup militias... in Saada," he said, referring to the Iran-backed Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militias which he accused of using "children as recruits."

The Gay Paree-based Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said 10 children were killed and 28 maimed Saturday in coalition air strikes on a school in Haydan, a town in rebel-held Saada province.

MSF spokeswoman Malak Shaher told AFP that the casualties the agency received at a field hospital were all under 15 and the "victims of air strikes on a Koranic school in Haydan."

But Assiri said the Yemeni government had confirmed to the coalition that "there is no school in this area."

"The site that was bombed... is a major training camp for militia," he said. "Why would children be at a training camp?"

"When jets target training camps they cannot distinguish between ages" of recruits, Assiri said.

The Saudi Press Agency said previously that coalition warplanes struck a Houthi "training center" on Saturday in Saada, killing several krazed killers, including a leader it identified as Yehya Munassar Abu Rabua.

Assiri said that MSF’s toll only "confirms the Houthis practice of recruiting and subjecting children to terror."

"They recruit children and use them as scouts, guards, messengers and fighters," he said, noting previous reports from Human Rights Watch
... During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, HRW received a pledge from the Foundation to Promote Open Society, of which George Soros is Chairman, for general support totaling $100,000,000. The grant is being paid in installments of $10,000,000 over ten years.Through June 30, 2013, HRW had received $30,000,000 towards the fulfillment of the pledge....
on rebels recruiting children.

"We would have hoped MSF would take measures to stop the recruitment of children to fight in wars instead of crying over them in the media."

Alleged Shiite insurgents on trial in Azerbaijan
[RFE/RL] Eighteen men said to be members of an extremist Islamic group that sought to provoke unrest in order to seize power went on trial beginning on August 4 in Baku's Court for Serious Crimes.

They face charges including murder, terrorism, inciting religious hatred, organizing mass unrest, and illegal possession of weapons. All of them reject those charges as fabricated; several say they were tortured in order to get them to incriminate themselves, fellow defendants, and opposition leaders.

The two most prominent defendants are Taleh Bagirzade (also known as Bagirov), a young Shiite cleric who heads the unregistered Movement for Muslim Unity, and Fuad Qahramanli, deputy chairman of the opposition Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (AHCP).

Bagirzade, who studied theology in Iran, has campaigned to uphold Muslim rights and openly criticized Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev. He was nabbed in late November 2015 together with 13 other men during a raid by police on a house in the village of Nardaran on the outskirts of Baku.

Nardaran has for decades been a bastion of Shiite Islam. Its estimated 8,000 residents regard as their supreme religious authority not Muslim Spiritual Board of Azerbaijan Chairman Sheikh-ul-Islam Allakh-Shukur Pashazade, but Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Seven people, including at least two police officers, were killed and several others injured during the police raid. According to officials, the men opened fire and hurled Molotov cocktails at the police. However, the accused say they were unarmed.

The same officials also say that Bagirzade created the Movement for Muslim Unity with the aim of overthrowing the government and establishing "a religious state under sharia law." He and his associates are said to have recruited supporters in the country and provided them with weapons, and to have conducted "illegal meetings" in Nardaran to discuss mobilizing the population in a violent uprising.

Qahramanli, who was not near Nardaran at the time of the raid, was detained at his home two weeks after it took place for comments about it that he posted on social media. He was initially charged with antistate propaganda and inciting religious hatred. Six months later, a further charge was brought against him of calling for civil disobedience and mass unrest. During testimony, Qahramanli said he was being tried solely for having expressed a critical opinion of the Azerbaijani authorities.

Europe
German far-right leader wants to send refugees to islands outside Europe
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The head of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) says Berlin should send rejected asylum seekers and illegal immigrants colonists to islands outside Europe and turn its refugee office into an emigration bureau.

The influx of over one million migrants colonists last year fueled support for the AfD, which now has seats in eight of Germany’s 16 state assemblies and is expected to make a strong showing in state votes next month in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Party leader Frauke Petry made the suggestions in an interview with the Bild newspaper published on Saturday.

"Illegal migrants colonists and asylum seekers whose applications are rejected will be accommodated on the two islands outside Europe that are protected by the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
," Petry added, without naming the two islands she had in mind.

German media interpreted her remarks as a reference to Nauru and Manus, two Pacific islands where Australia funds camps to hold asylum seekers intercepted trying to reach its shores by boat. They are told they will never be settled in Australia.

"I propose the transformation of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees into an office for emigration, which ensures that all illegal migrants colonists leave this land as soon as possible," Petry added.

The refugee office has been overwhelmed since last year with hundreds of thousands of asylum applications.

Known for her fiery
...a single two-syllable word carrying connotations of both incoherence and viciousness. A fiery delivery implies an audience of rubes and yokels, preferably forming up into a mob...
speeches to AfD supporters, Petry sparked an uproar earlier this year when she called for German police to be allowed to use firearms against illegal migrants colonists.

Most of the more than one million migrants colonists who arrived in Germany last year are refugees escaping war and persecution in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.

US nuclear weapons at Turkey's Incirlik Air Base could be 'a roll of the dice' from falling to the wrong hands
[Bus Insider] Dozens of US nuclear weapons stored at a Turkish air base near Syria are at risk of being captured by "terrorists or other hostile forces," a Washington think tank claimed Monday.

Critics have long been alarmed by America's estimated stockpile of about 50 nuclear bombs at Incirlik in southern Turkey, just 70 miles from the border with war-torn Syria.

The issue took on fresh urgency last month following the attempted coup in Turkey, in which the base's Turkish commander was arrested on suspicion of complicity in the plot.

"Whether the US could have maintained control of the weapons in the event of a protracted civil conflict in Turkey is an unanswerable question," said Monday's report from the Stimson Center, a nonpartisan think tank working to promote peace.

Incirlik is a vital base for the US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria, with the strategically located facility affording drones and warplanes fast access to IS targets.

But the Pentagon in March ordered families of US troops and civilian personnel stationed in southern Turkey to quit the region due to security fears.

"From a security point of view, it's a roll of the dice to continue to have approximately 50 of America's nuclear weapons stationed at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey," report co-author Laicie Heeley said.

"There are significant safeguards in place. ... But safeguards are just that, they don't eliminate risk. In the event of a coup, we can't say for certain that we would have been able to maintain control," she told AFP.

Indictment drawn up against leaders of Turkey's HDP
[AA.TR] A prosecutor in southern The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has prepared an indictment seeking a jail term of up to five years for the co-leaders of the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).

In a statement released Sunday, the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office said charges of promoting terrorist propaganda and insulting the state had been laid against Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag, as well as Meral Danis Bestas, a party politician for Adana.

A charge of promoting terrorist, namely PKK, propaganda against Demirtas relates to a speech he gave during an HDP congress in Adana province in October 2011 while Yuksekdag is accused of insulting the government in an address in Ankara in October last year.

Bestas faces three insult charges stemming from public statements and a Twitter post in October last year and February.

The charges follow a decision to lift some politicians’ immunity from prosecution in May.

On Friday, an Istanbul prosecutor released an indictment against Demirtas and HDP deputy Sirri Sureyya Onder for promoting terrorist propaganda that also sought imprisonment of up to five years.

The indictments must be presented to a court and, if they are accepted, prosecutions will be launched.

India-Pakistan
In response to talks plan, India lists issues that must be resolved first
[DAWN] India, responding to Pakistain’s plan to discuss Jammu and Kashmire, has given its list of issues that must be addressed before any progress is possible.

Reports on Saturday quoted India’s foreign ministry as responding to the statement by Foreign Policy Adviser Sartaj PrunefaceAziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
to invite India for dialogue on Jammu and Kashmire.

The ministry claimed Delhi welcomed dialogue on relevant issues and at this time it included stoppage of "Pak-supported cross-border terrorism".

In a statement, the ministry said: "Would welcome dialogue on relevant issues in India-Pakistain relations and at this time it includes stoppage of Pak-supported cross-border terrorism."

Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said that before the start of a dialogue Pakistain must address "incitement to violence and terrorism across the border, parading of internationally recognised forces of Evil like Hafiz Saeed
...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat...
and Syed Salahuddin, and sincere follow up on the Mumbai attack trial and the Pathankot attack investigation".

Days after India insisted that it would discuss only Azad Kashmire with Pakistain, Mr Aziz had said on Friday that Pakistain planned to invite India for a dialogue on the Kashmire issue.

"Our foreign secretary would formally be writing to his counterpart in this regard," Mr Aziz had said as he briefed the media about the Envoys Conference held on August 1-3 to deliberate on major foreign policy challenges faced by Pakistain and make recommendations. He said the conference had spent considerable time on the grim situation in Kashmire.

Meanwhile,
...back at the desert island, Irene was indignant at the thought of doing such a thing without benefit of clergy...
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said: "Unlike in the past we cannot agree that dialogue with sponsor and supporters of terrorism should carry on without being linked to action in that regard." She was obliquely referring to Pakistain.

"Threat of terrorism dominates global concerns today. It is an issue which has confronted Indian diplomacy for many years because of its cross-border manifestation," she said. "At the international level we are also putting the spotlight on early conclusion of a comprehensive convention on international terrorism," she added.

Pak Anti-Terror Agency Warns Taliban May Attack Wagah Border On 14th August, Their Independence Day
[INDIATIMES] Pakistain's top counter-terrorism agency has issued two alerts, warning about possible terror attacks by two Taliban jacket wallahs at the Wagah and Ganda Singh borders with India around the Independence Day.

The National Counter-Terrorism Authority has asked the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Director General of Pakistain Rangers, the home department and the Punjab (Pakistain) police chief to take high preventive measures to protect the public as well as security personnel.

" Tehrik-e-Taliban 's Fazalullah group is planning to target parade at Wagah Border in Lahore and Ganda Singh Border in Kasur on August 13, 14 or 15," the security alert says. The alert also says two suicide bombers have been sent to hit these targets. "Extreme vigilance and heightened security measures are suggested to avoid any untoward incident," it says.

The Punjab (Pakistain) home department has also issued a separate alert saying "at least 16 suicide kaboomers have entered the province" who are planning to target public gatherings in connection with the Independence Day.

Following the alerts, the Punjab police (Pakistain's Punjab) launched a crackdown in the border areas and tossed in the calaboose
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
a number of suspects.

"Police have taken more than 50 suspects into custody during a crackdown and security has been beefed up in the city as well as in the border areas," Lahore police front man Niyab Haider said.

He said the suspects would be quizzed and kept into custody till verification process as a majority of them could not produce documents related to their identity.

He said police personnel have also been deployed at the border areas on Pakistain's Independence Day (August 14). Rangers have also reportedly enhanced their patrolling in the border areas.

Iraq
Iraq: Arson likely behind deadly maternity ward fire
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A fire that killed 13 children in an Iraqi maternity ward was apparently started intentionally, the health ministry’s front man said on Sunday.

Ahmed al-Rudeini had previously said the Wednesday fire at Yarmuk Hospital, one of the main such facilities in Baghdad, had been started by an electrical fault.

But an investigation found "the presence of flammable materials at the site, and this of course indicates the occurrence of arson," he said, also raising the corpse count from the blaze to 13 from 12.

Many of Baghdad’s public hospitals are poorly maintained and offer sub-standard healthcare, forcing a number of Iraqis to seek private treatment or travel abroad.

The lack of adequate public services, such as quality medical care, electricity and water supply, as well as widespread corruption in the country, has angered the public and led to a series of protests in the past year.

Jews expelled from Jerusalem site on mourning day
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Hundreds of Jews visited Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque compound on Tisha B’av, a religious day of mourning, with several expelled for praying, a right restricted to Moslems, police said Sunday.

Over 300 Jews entered the site during morning visiting hours, according to Jewish activists and the Waqf -- the Jordanian foundation that oversees the site.

More were expected in the afternoon, when Tisha B’av, which commemorates the destruction of the two ancient temples at the site, nears its end.

Police had boosted security with hundreds of extra officers ahead of the event, which began Saturday night.

Tens of thousands of Jews also prayed at the adjacent Western Wall during the day.

Advocates for prayer rights for Jews at the esplanade, the holiest site in Judaism and referred to as the Temple Mount, have called on Jews to visit the sensitive area.

It is Islam’s third holiest site.

According to a police statement, seven Jews were detained for "violating the terms of the visit."

Honenu, an advocacy group that provides legal aid to myrmidon Jews, said three of them were held for citing verses from prayer, and another for tearing his shirt, a sign of mourning in Judaism.

Jews are allowed to visit but not to pray there, but the site has been the scene of regular incidents when Jews try to ignore the rule and Moslems intervene to stop them.

Police said Moslems had congregated around two Jews being expelled by police and began yelling at them. Police pushed them away and three Moslems were lightly maimed in the scuffle.

Jerusalem has been at the heart of a wave of violence since October in which 219 Paleostinians, 34 Israelis, two Americans, an Eritrea
...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age...
n and a Sudanese have died, according to an AFP count.

Most of the Paleostinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks, according to Israeli authorities.

While the number of attacks has declined in recent weeks, Paleostinian fears of Israeli intentions to undermine Moslem control of the Al-Aqsa mosque compound were a central component in the violence erupting 10 months ago.

Paleostinians argue that Israel is seeking to change the status quo at the compound, a claim that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly denied.

Hamas denies Netanyahu’s accusations on NGO funds
[AA.TR] Paleostinian group Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, has decried accusations by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the group of seizing funds from Gazoo-based international aid organizations.
What'dya expect them to say? "Oh, yeah, we dunnit and we're glad?"
In a Sunday statement, Hamas termed Netanyahu’s accusations as "lies" and "bare of truth".

"These remarks were meant to deceive world public opinion, pressure international aid organizations in Gazoo and justify the criminal blockade on the strip," the statement said.

On Thursday, Netanyahu accused Hamas of "seizing funds provided by Gazoo-based international relief organizations."

In a video published on his Facebook page, Netanyahu said "many states submit generous aid for the benefit of Gazook children to provide them with required humanitarian aid, but Hamas exploits these money to establish a war machine to kill Israelis."

Hamas said that the Israeli premier will remain a "symbol of terrorism and criminality".

"His lies will not beautify his criminal image," the Paleostinian group said.

On Tuesday, Israel enjugged
Into the paddy wagon wit' yez!
a U.N. aid worker in the blockaded Gazoo Strip, accusing him of supporting Hamas.

Alleged Daesh threat against Miss Universe pageant in Manila
[SGGP] The Philippine military is taking seriously a call by the Daesh for an attack on the Miss Universe pageant that will be held in Manila next year. The military said that a recent bomb-making video posted on social media, apparently made by Daesh, carried a message in Arabic script reading: "creating a bomb for Miss Universe."

Officials have yet to establish the video's authenticity or determine its source, but they are taking the threat seriously, military spokesman Colonel Edgard Arevalo said.

The Philippine ministry of tourism said it is not alarmed by the threat, adding that the video's authenticity was impossible to verify.

Cell phone that triggered Thai bomb linked to Malaysia
[Asia One] Thai police are said to be seeking Malaysian help to identify the source of a mobile phone used in one of the bombings that struck the southern provinces last week. A portion of a cell phone used to trigger an explosion in Phuket on Friday contained a Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission serial number, according to reports.

Thai police, who have not yet confirmed the report, have gathered security camera footage and DNA samples from the blast sites, and say they expect to make progress in investigations soon.

Major tourist hot spots as well as central areas in Phuket, Phangnga, Surat Thani, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Trang provinces were hit by a series of explosions on Thursday and Friday. There were arson attacks in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Krabi. Four people were killed and more than 30 others were wounded. The toll would have been higher if not for the discovery of two home-made bombs in Phuket on Wednesday which were defused.

General Pongsapat said that the bomb and arson materials in all the sites were similar. He said, "We believe they were done by members of the same group."

Syrian rebels say al-Bab is on their Christmas list

[ARA News] KOBANE – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced Sunday the formation of the al-Bab Military Council led by 16 military commanders. The city of al-Bab hosts the foreign intelligence headquarters of ISIS group, and was used by ISIS to plan attacks.

A French member of the SDF told ARA News that their forces aim to liberate as much as territory from ISIS as possible.

During a press conference, the al-Bab Military Council announced that they follow the example of the SDF-led Manbij Military Council that liberated Manbij city from ISIS last Friday.

“Drawing on the experience of our neighbours in liberated Manbij and it’s countryside, it has become necessary for us to work together to liberate our people, as a step to the liberation of all of Syria, and to build a common home,” the council said.

“That’s why we announced the founding of the military council of al-Bab and its countryside,” the organization said.

Leadership of the newly formed military council stressed that they are open to all factions and figures to join the council to fight against the Islamic State group, and called on the displaced civilians from al-Bab to join the council to fight ISIS.

Also, the al-Bab council called on the US-led coalition to support them “to liberate our land and our people from the Daesh terrorists’.

So far, it’s unclear whether the coalition would support this operation, since the coalition forces said they would now focus on retaking Raqqa–ISIS de facto capital in Syria.

“I think yes the objective of the Syrian Democratic Forces is to liberate as much areas as possible from the territories of Daesh [ISIS],” French fighter of the SDF, nicknamed Soran, told ARA News on Sunday. “Al-Bab is close to us [from Manbij], only 20 to 40 kilometers, so we have to go there, and Jarabulus too,” he said.

“We have to liberate all this part of northern Syria, everybody knows that Daesh [ISIS] gets all its weapons, volunteers from the Turkish border, and every week 100 jihadists cross the Turkish border, and Turkey is indirectly supporting Daesh,” he said.

“If we take al-Bab and Jarabulus, and make a junction with the moderate opposition in Afrin, the border will be closed, and Daesh will be isolated from the rest of the world,” Soran added.

“I am happy if this operation would start, because many of the attackers of 13th November came from the Manbij pocket, and received training. So we have to close this border,” he said.

Syrian girl shot by sniper evacuated to hospital
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A ten-year-old Syrian girl shot in the besieged town of Madaya was evacuated Sunday to a Damascus hospital where she is in a stable condition, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Ghina Quwayder’s leg was shattered when she was shot by a government sniper at a checkpoint in the southwestern town earlier this month while buying medicine for her mother, according to Amnesia Amnesty International.

The human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
group had launched a campaign urging the UN humanitarian task force in Syria, which is headed by US and Russian authorities, to evacuate her.

It had accused the Syrian government of refusing to allow her to be evacuated to a hospital in Damascus or in Leb, and said she was in "almost constant, excruciating pain".

"The Syrian Red Islamic Thingy evacuated after midnight the girl from Madaya to Damascus," the head of the Britannia-based Observatory, Rami Abdel Rahman, told AFP.

A Syrian security source on the ground told AFP that "the girl was evacuated with her mother Sahar to an hospital in Damascus for treatment", saying her "condition is stable".

Ghina’s aunt Fadah Jassan, who lives in London, had urged the British government to intervene.

"Children should have no part in this terrible war and I just want powerful countries and the UN to get Ghina out of Madaya and into a properly-equipped hospital," she said in a statement cited by Amnesty.

She added: "I know Ghina’s just one among many thousands of children in Syria who’re going though things they shouldn’t have to, but she can be helped relatively easily and we need to do all we can to make that happen."

Under the rule of reciprocity, wouldn't that lay the Leb public open to the worst the Israelis could do?
