Planned Parenthood Seeks to Block Public Release of 'Baby Parts' Records
[Free Beacon] Researchers at a public university are trying to suppress documents relating to Planned Parenthood's fetal body part scandal in federal court, according to a suit.

Planned Parenthood supplies researchers at the University of Washington's Birth Defects Research Center with body parts obtained during abortions. Pro-life activists led by the Center for Medical Progress - David Daleiden filed records requests about these practices. A federal judge granted a temporary injunction on the information after receiving a request filed by several people associated with the lab to have information redacted from the publicly available documents.

Daleiden's attorney, Peter Breen, who is also general counsel for the non-profit Thomas More Society, said that such a move threatens government transparency.

"The people have a right to know how their government is run. The plaintiffs here work at a taxpayer-funded state university, and their work is subject to the same sunshine and open records laws as any other government employee," Breen said in a release.

The university has filed a brief with the court in support of the researchers, some of whom are not government employees. A university spokesman said that while it supports the Freedom of Information Act, it is also concerned with employee safety. He said that redacting names would not hinder the public's right to know.

Six Irish football players arrested in separate incidents
[Chicago Tribune] Two weeks before Notre Dame opens its 2016 football season, the Irish face the possibility of being without several key pieces after six players were arrested in separate incidents Friday night and early Saturday.

Five players -- starting safety Max Redfield, linebacker Te'Von Coney, wide receiver Kevin Stepherson, running back Dexter Williams and cornerback Ashton White -- were charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana after a traffic stop Friday, according to the Indiana State Police. Redfield, Stepherson and Williams face an additional misdemeanor charge of possession of a handgun without a license, police said.

A sixth player, cornerback Devin Butler, was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and battery to a police officer, both felonies, after an incident early Saturday at a South Bend, Ind., bar, according to South Bend police.

According to court documents obtained by the South Bend Tribune, the state will have until Wednesday to decide whether to file formal charges against Butler, who is accused in the documents of tackling and punching a police officer.

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly did not publicly address either incident Saturday and isn't scheduled to speak with the media until Thursday. The Irish last practiced Friday and aren't scheduled to do so again until Monday.

Paul Browne, the university's vice president for public affairs and communications, released the following statement:

"Any student arrested on a felony charge also faces dismissal from the university. The university will determine if additional sanctions should apply to any or all of the students charged."

Policewoman under investigation after 'being flashed at by female boss in boob job row'
[EXPRESS.CO.UK] Manchester: A POLICEWOMAN is being investigated after having an alleged row with her boss over who had the best honkers breasts.

The pair are said to have become embroiled in a "loud disagreement" over who had the "best boobs" while attending the Senior Women In Policing conference.

Greater Manchester Assistant Chief Constable Rebekah Sutcliffe initially faced suspension and an investigation in May after allegedly flashing Superintendent Sarah Jackson.
"Hah! Whaddya think of these udds?"
But now Supt Jackson will also face an investigation without suspension following the fall out at an event set up to enhance the ’profile and perception’ of female officers.
"I perceive the short one had the best hooters!"
A GMP front man said: "At the request of Greater Manchester Police, Durham Constabulary will be investigating a senior GMP officer following allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
"Flashin' me hangers is inappropriate?"
"We will not be providing any details about the nature of the incident or the personal life of the officer."
"She's very friendly. Just leave it at that!"
While it is unclear who started the bust up, one insider claimed ACC Sutcliffe had been "comparing" gazongas breasts with the superintendent.
Employment tip: Never compare your knockers with your superintendent.
But another source alleged there had been a "ding dong over allegations of false chests".
"Whaddya mean 'looks like they're stuffed with buttwipe?'"
It was claimed that ACC Sutcliffe had argued that Supt Jackson’s tata breast enhancement surgery was ’pandering’ to men.

At the time an anonymous user took to twitter to reveal ACC Sutcliffe had been suspended "because of bust-up (or rather bust out!) with Supt Sarah Jackson at #SWIP16 social event."
"'At's right. Showed the old nipscape and out she went!"
Unlike her inferior officer, ACC Sutcliffe was suspended on full pay ‐ with the senior officer earning £109,000 a year.
"Go home and arrange yer sweaters, Boobsie!"
It is not the first time ACC Sutcliffe has been at the wrong end of an investigation, with a police watchdog launching a probe on the policewoman in 2014 after she failed to reveal a relationship with a senior officer.
"Oh, take me, Alistair! But be gentle!"
The Independent Police Complaints Commission later cleared ACC Sutcliffe of the charge, but the force she helps lead later decided she could not chair disciplinary hearings in the future.

D. A. Henderson - Man who led effort to eradicate smallpox passes on.
[John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health] It is with great sadness that I write to let you know that Donald Ainslie Henderson, the eighth dean of our School, passed away last evening at Gilchrist Hospice Care. D. A. was a giant in public health who, prior to becoming dean, led the World Health Organization's successful 10-year effort to eradicate smallpox, one of the greatest public health achievements in history. Smallpox is the only human disease ever to have been eradicated.

#1  Just this once cut me a bit of slackery.

1 Let us now praise famous men, and our fathers that begat us.
2 The Lord hath wrought great glory by them through his great power from the beginning.
3 Such as did bear rule in their kingdoms, men renowned for their power, giving counsel by their understanding, and declaring prophecies:
4 Leaders of the people by their counsels, and by their knowledge of learning meet for the people, wise and eloquent are their instructions:
5 Such as found out musical tunes, and recited verses in writing:
6 Rich men furnished with ability, living peaceably in their habitations:
7 All these were honoured in their generations, and were the glory of their times.
8 There be of them, that have left a name behind them, that their praises might be reported.
9 And some there be, which have no memorial; who are perished, as though they had never been; and are become as though they had never been born; and their children after them.
10 But these were merciful men, whose righteousness hath not been forgotten.
11 With their seed shall continually remain a good inheritance, and their children are within the covenant.
12 Their seed standeth fast, and their children for their sakes.
13 Their seed shall remain for ever, and their glory shall not be blotted out.
14 Their bodies are buried in peace; but their name liveth for evermore.
15 The people will tell of their wisdom, and the congregation will shew forth their praise.
16 Enoch pleased the Lord, and was translated, being an example of repentance to all generations.
17 Noah was found perfect and righteous; in the time of wrath he was taken in exchange for the world; therefore was he left as a remnant unto the earth, when the flood came.
18 An everlasting covenant was made with him, that all flesh should perish no more by the flood.
19 Abraham was a great father of many people: in glory was there none like unto him;
20 Who kept the law of the most High, and was in covenant with him: he established the covenant in his flesh; and when he was proved, he was found faithful.
21 Therefore he assured him by an oath, that he would bless the nations in his seed, and that he would multiply him as the dust of the earth, and exalt his seed as the stars, and cause them to inherit from sea to sea, and from the river unto the utmost part of the land.
22 With Isaac did he establish likewise for Abraham his father's sake the blessing of all men, and the covenant, And made it rest upon the head of Jacob. He acknowledged him in his blessing, and gave him an heritage, and divided his portions; among the twelve tribes did he part them.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
'Kim Jong-un' makes a sensational appearance at the Rio Olympics
North Korea is notorious for keeping a close eye on its athletes during international competition. Kim Jong-un has been spotted several times in the crowd in Rio, but not even North Korean athletes thought he would be this close to the action.

Or at least it appeared to be him.

For those that live under a rock don't know, Kim Jong-un is the isolated leader of the People's Republic of North Korea. "Kim Jong-un," however, is the life of the party.

The Glorious Leader may not have made it to the Olympic games, but his impersonator definitely did. The Australian-Hongkonger known as "Howard" made his presence felt at the track and field events, where cameras and vigilant viewers have seen him.
Howard had better spend more time at the kitchen table if he's going to keep up with Pudgy's superhuman eating habits.
The Kim impersonator has been taken photos with fans and athletes alike as he makes his way through the Olympic festivities. He also gave a less than glorious gesture to the crowd during last night's track action.

Costumed patrons aren't a new thing at the Olympics.

People come dressed in wild outfits to show their support for their favorite country. However, not a lot of people come dressed as their favorite Supreme Commander.

North Korea may be benefitting from the extra motivation.

The country has secured seven medals in Rio: two gold, three silver and two bronze. That medal haul is highest it has had since it secured nine medals at Barcelona in 1992.

There is no confirmation whether Kim's father, Kim Jong-il, was in attendance to inspire that performance in 1992. Knowing Kim Jong-il's athletic achievements, it wouldn't be surprising if he was there.
He stood in for Usain Bolt, I hear.

Australia Crafts Its Own Anti-Access, Area Denial Strategy
The Australian military is shaping a transformed military force, one built around new platforms but ones that operate in a joint manner in an extended battlespace. The goal is to extend the defense perimeter of Australia and create, in effect, their own version of an Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) strategy.

They also recognize a key reality of 21st century military evolution in terms of shaping an integrated information-based operating force. Interactive modernization of the force is built around decision-making superiority and that will come with an effective information dominant force.

That makes the Aussies a key partner to the US and other allies in discussing openly a path for force transformation along lines where cutting edge thinking is occurring in the US and allied forces. Put bluntly, they are driving a public discussion of transformation in a way we have not seen in the United States for a long time.

The goal was put clearly in an interview by Craig Heap, commander of the Surveillance and Response Group in the Royal Australian Air Force in an interview.

#1  decision-making superiority and that will come with an effective information dominant force.

What caliber is this information?

shaping an integrated information-based operating force

Does "integrated information" give you the will to fight and win? Or does it give you more nuanced excuses for "leading from behind" and doing diddly-squat?

The Grand Turk
Billboards in Istanbul airport warn travellers to Sweden of high risk of rape
[ALMASDARNEWS] A pro-government Turkish newspaper placed an advert in Istanbul’s main airport warning travellers visiting Sweden they could be raped.
They're all pro-government in Turkey nowadays. The alternative is to be shut down, confiscated, and the staff picked up for determination of Gulenist connections... after which they'll be arrested, tried, convicted, their personal property confiscated by the state, and all their friends and relations examined as well.
Gunes newspaper placed the warning on two billboards in Ataturk Airport’s International Terminal. "Travel Warning! Did you know that Sweden has the highest rape rate worldwide?" read one billboard.
Oddly enough, the billboard doesn't mention exactly who is doing the raping...or why.
Sweden has the highest rape rates per capita in Europe, but not in the world.
"We're the regional Number 1!"
It comes after a news ticker at Vienna airport carried the headline, "The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
allows sex with children under the age of 15", following a controversial ruling by Turkey’s supreme court that sex with minors under 15 should no longer be classified as child abuse.

Sweden’s foreign minister Margot Wallström criticised the decision, calling on Turkey to defend children’s rights.

In response, Ankara summoned both Austria and Sweden’s ambassadors. Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said the claims highlighted the "racism, anti-Islamic and anti-Turkish (attitude) in Europe".

After Turkey’s Constitutional Court released a statement saying: "Sexual abuse actions against children will not be decriminalised and will not remain unpunished, and the legislative body will be provided the opportunity to make a new regulation within the scope set out in the grounds."

The statement went on to say that current laws criminalising sex with children would remain in place until January, when they would be replaced with new legislation. However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
the court did not state whether these new laws would legalise sex with children.

LDS Federal Judge seeks criminal contempt charges against Sheriff Joe
(CNN) Tough-talking Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio could soon be facing criminal charges himself.

Federal Judge G. Murray Snow has asked the US Attorney's Office to file criminal contempt charges against Arpaio and some of his subordinates over failure to follow the court's instructions in a racial profiling case.

In May, Snow found Arpaio and three members of his office to be in civil contempt because they allegedly violated court orders designed to keep the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office from racially profiling Latinos.

Continued failure to follow the directions of the court, along with false statements and attempts to obstruct further inquiry, justified the filing of criminal contempt charges now, Snow wrote Friday.

#1  Tom Tancredo has written in today's Breitbart blog:
"It is an open secret in Washington, D.C. that the Mormon church supports open borders and lax enforcement of immigration laws. Many Mormon politicians have been supporting amnesty and open borders for decades. When I was in Congress I had a confrontation with former Utah Senator Robert Bennett over his sponsorship of an amendment to exempt religious institutions from a Sanctuary City bill establishing penalties for harboring illegal aliens. It turned out he did it at the request of his church leaders. Mormon church support for John McCain in his Arizona Republican primary race is also due in large part to his open borders record and his challenger’s strong criticism of McCain’s hypocrisy on border security."

Ayyy-pee: Ex-SEAL to pay $6.6 million to settle case over book
The former Navy SEAL who wrote a book about his role in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden will pay the government more than $6.6 million for violating non-disclosure agreements and publishing without getting the document cleared by the Defense Department, according to federal court documents.
$6.6 million? What proportion is that of the author's royalty?
The book triggered a Justice Department probe, including claims it contained classified material. Bissonnette had signed non-disclosure agreements during his service as a SEAL, and he took part in a number of highly secret operations including the bin Laden raid.

Under the agreement, Bissonnette said he would acknowledge he made a mistake by failing to submit the book for pre-publication review. And in exchange for the payments, the U.S. government has dismissed other liability claims.
Silly SEAL. Trod on reserved turf.
Absolutely beyond the pale. These people are loathsome and disgusting.

#1  ...I think enough Rantburgers are familiar with The Way Things Work to understand that this wasn't about secrecy; it was about making an example of Bissonnette. And - understanding that some of my fellow 'Burgers here may disagree with me - although I think the Gummint went way overboard, the bottom line was that Bissonnette was in the wrong. He signed the NDA, and I have signed a few of them myself - there is no, "well, you can tell just a little" clause. You say nothing, ever, without clear and specific permission to do otherwise.
Had he gone to the Navy and said, "Look, I'm gonna write this, let's work together on it," it would have ultimately been approved and the SEALS would have had a chance to have one of their own tell the story of one of their greatest triumphs. Yes, he would have had to have it reviewed at every step, yes, he probably would have had to take some things out, but he would have ultimately written his book. Instead, he frankly decided he could get away with it, and that never works. Period. The end result is clear - he will be made an example, and that's the point.
Was what he did worth $6.7M USD (there's also 100K he has to come up with in 30 days on top of the primary 6.6M judgement)? Nope. But as far as Your Federal Gummint is concerned, the lesson being taught to anyone else who might have the same bright idea is priceless.

‘Occupation of church lands will not be allowed’
[DAWN] The representatives of the Christian Community on Friday said some elements were trying to occupy churches’ land all over the country.

Reverend Jan Ghulam while speaking at a presser at the National Press Club said the churches land were under the control of Christians for long time.

"We have decided to lodge a joint movement against it across the country. Moreover we will also move court for protection of their right of practicing their religion according to their will," he said.

Reverend Sheron Nasir said that some elements wanted to create a situation of civil war in the country by increasing the differences between believers of different religions.

"We want peaceful Pakistain and will not become part of any conspiracy, but will not allow anyone to occupy the land and properties of churches," he said.
Good luck with that, guys. You live in Dar al Islam, so according to Sharia law you do not actually own anything.
They said the Christian community would soon hold a conference to decide line of action against the conspiracy.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran's American Treasurer
History may not repeat itself, but it sure paraphrases a lot.
Long before Iranian revolutionaries named America the “Great Satan” in 1979, another Iranian revolutionary government looked to America for help in its struggle to secure its independence. In 1911, the government of Persia – as outsiders then knew Iran – invited William Morgan Shuster, an American lawyer and civil servant, to become the country’s treasurer general. Shuster arrived at a pivotal moment in Iran’s history, just as a fragile new democracy was struggling to survive. Only five years earlier, Iranians had carried out a “constitutional revolution,” forcing the reigning monarch, Mozzafer ad-Din Shah, to accept a constitution and a parliament, or majles. Supporters of the new government counted on the majles to end the corruption of successive monarchs who had exploited Iran’s resources for personal gain, and allowed Russia and Britain to dominate the country’s economy.

But the constitutional movement had powerful enemies. In January 1907, Mozzafer ad-Din died, and his son Muhammad Ali, a friend of Russia, became shah. Russia opposed the constitutional movement and jealously guarded its influence in northern Iran. In 1908, after surviving an assassination attempt, Muhammad Ali’s Russian-backed forces besieged the majles, arresting and executing prominent constitutionalists. The following year, constitutional forces deposed Mohammad Ali and sent him into exile. But by then, Iran was almost bankrupt. Europeans and corrupt local elites conspired to drain the national purse, even as Russia sought to undermine the government. To secure control of Iran, the government needed to root out corruption and centralize its tax system. That was Shuster’s mission.

Shuster knew from the moment he arrived that Russia, the friend of Muhammad Ali Shah, was especially displeased with his presence. Russia had pulled its weight with “certain persuasive and notorious members of the Parliament” to try and keep him away, and had even complained to the US State Department. Russia, says Amanat, faced its own revolutionary situation in the Caucasus Mountains and resented its loss of influence in Azerbaijan to the constitutionalists. Even so, Russia claimed to respect Iran’s sovereignty and stopped short of publicly objecting to the employment of a US citizen by the Persian government. Britain reluctantly assented to Shuster’s project as well. Both countries expected him to visit their legations upon his arrival and sent constant messages to that effect.

But Shuster gave them the cold shoulder. He argued that, as an official of the Persian government, he was under no obligation to pay “first calls” to anyone. At the heart of the foreign embassies’ worries was Shuster’s “financial law,” which he was preparing to put before the majles. Once it passed, Shuster would control the disbursement of all government funds, and would have the power to examine all requests for payment, including those from foreign powers. As far as Shuster was concerned, most of the foreign diplomatic corps in Tehran, along with the coterie of foreign experts whose countries they represented, were driving Iran ever closer to bankruptcy.

When Iranians saw how Shuster behaved toward the other westerners, he later wrote with no little self-regard, they “rubbed their eyes a few times and then commenced to have a new sensation. ‘Inshallah, we have a faranghi [foreigner] among us who takes not his orders from the foreign legations. Let us help him.’”
