Is this the real reason why we never return to the Moon? Shocking claim over what stops us
SPACE agencies never fly to the Moon anymore... because it is too dangerous for us to go there, it has shockingly been claimed. A growing conspiracy theory suggests the Moon is occupied by advanced aliens that have banned humans from returning.
I seen dis movie! No, really! "Apollo 18"!
The theory links in with others that claim there are alien bases on the dark side of the Moon.

In a feature devoted to the theory, conspiracy theory website Ancient Code said: "Have you ever asked yourself why mankind has not returned to the moon in recent years?

"According to many researchers and Ufologists, the American space agency is hiding a sinister secret from society, and we are not familiar with everything that has occurred--and is still occurring--on the surface of the moon.

"Many people claim there is enough evidence to suggest there are Alien bases on the moon.

"Rumors, declassified documents, and whistleblowers have come forward saying that agencies around the globe simply cannot afford to let society know what’s really on the moon."

The theory suggests that NASA astronauts during the moon landings met with aliens, who eventually warned them not to return.

The website added: "The idea that there are alien bases on the moon would explain why we stopped so abruptly going to the moon.

"Also, with our current technology, why haven’t we created a permanent manned outpost on the lunar surface?
There's a good reason why, and we don't have to look past our feckless leaders to find it...
"Wouldn’t it be easier to build a permanent structure on the surface of the moon, than to have a floating space station orbiting around Earth?"
No, but don't let that stop you...
The far-fetched theory goes onto suggest aliens are mining the moon of its resources, and UFOs, that allegedly visit Earth, are stationed on the moon.

The late Dr Harold Urey investigated lunar science from the 1950s. He claimed to be "terribly puzzled" by the rocks astronauts found on the moon and their titanium content. The samples contained titanium, which no one could account for the presence of.

Scott C Waring, editor of ufiosightingsdaily.com, is a believer. He said even claims to have found evidence of structures on the Moon in US Navy Archives. In a blog today, he said: "I found these structures today.

"The structure above was the most fascinating to me. It’s a long straight structure along what looks like a crater but is actually not.

"It's actually all one structure. No crater there, just structure.

"Hard to understand I know."

Ancient Code added: "But, is there really an alien base there? Well, I guess you can’t know that but, is it a coincidence that there are some lunar rocks that have been found to contain PROCESSED METALS such as Brass, Uranium 236 and Neptunium 237?

"These elements have NEVER been found to occur naturally.

"Uranium 236 is a radioactive nuclear waste which is found in spent nuclear and reprocessed Uranium.

"More interestingly, Neptunium 237 is a radioactive metallic element and a by-product of nuclear reactors and the production of Plutonium."
Continues...
Sweet mother of gawd, I was afraid you'd say that...

The Cassandra Project
Jack McDevitt and Mike Resnick

Two science fiction masters team up to deliver a classic thriller in which one man uncovers the secret history of the US space program... Early in his career, Jerry Culpepper could never have been accused of being idealistic. Doing public relations--even for politicians--was strictly business...until he was hired as NASA's public affairs director and discovered a client he could believe in. Proud of the agency's history and sure of its destiny, he was thrilled to be a part of its future--a bright era of far-reaching space exploration. But public disinterest and budget cuts changed that future. Now, a half century after the first moon landing, Jerry feels like the only one with stars--and unexplored planets and solar systems--in his eyes. Still, Jerry does his job, trying to drum up interest in the legacy of the agency. Then a fifty-year-old secret about the Apollo XI mission is revealed, and he finds himself embroiled in the biggest controversy of the twenty-first century, one that will test his ability--and his willingness--to spin the truth about a conspiracy of reality-altering proportions...

#13  "there are alien bases on the dark side of the Moon"

That tells me everything I need to know, mainly that the author and conspiracy freaks are stupid!

If the base is located in the 'dark side' of the moon, then the bases would have to be moving at a high rate of speed to remain in the dark!

Since we haven't seen anything racing across the visible surface of the moon every two week and the terminologies are incorrect, it indicate that there is no scientific education whatsoever! It's a safe bet the people involved are not quite right in the head!

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Half of college students think their loans will be forgiven
Owing to a serious misconception, almost half of college students recently polled believe they won't be saddled with student loans soon after graduation.

According to a survey of 500 current college students conducted by LendEDU, a private firm that connects students and their families with student loans and loan refinancing, 49.8 percent believe they would be able to receive federal forgiveness on their student loans after graduation.
This fits with almost half of the millennials thinking socialism is awesome
Was that an actual Congress-passed law or one of former President Obama's phone-and-pen specials?
This belief is hardly justified, given the limited circumstances in which these loans can actually be forgiven.

The US Department of Education says that federal direct student loan borrowers can get off the hook if they enter public service jobs for a specified period of time, agree to teach in an underserved area, die or become permanently disabled, or if the school they attended shuts down while they are enrolled or within 120 days after they leave.
And with public service jobs getting fewer and fewer with government cuts, someone better be taking something besides gender studies
"The biggest exemption is the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, and very few students go into public service," said Nate Matherson, who co-founded LendEDU in 2014.
Or was it one of those bureacratic edict thingies worked up by the department all by its veryownself?
"With maybe 14 percent of the American workforce in a public service job, the actual numbers of those who may qualify for student loan forgiveness or discharge is maybe below 10 percent.
Possibly less. I seem to recall President Trump ordering a public service hiring freeze for the next four or five years...
"The fact that many students do not understand this means that they may be significantly underestimating the cost of financing a college education," he added.
Gee... I wonder where they got that idea from after growing up under Obumble for 8 years?
Many students polled said they would rely on financial aid to make up the difference in reduced debt load. So while 90 percent knew of FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), 84 percent did not know the correct filing deadline for the application.

Mark Stephens is financial aid director at Pace University, where the "sticker price" annual tuition is $42,354 for the 2017-18 academic year, a figure that he says is on the average "about 50 percent discounted" through a combination of gift scholarships and other freebies like Pell Grants.
Expect to see forgiveness of student loans to become a major political issue in 8 years. I predict the taxpayers will be on the hook for it.

#1  Well, when you print up 20 Trillion dollars of debt (and climbing), at a certain point the eventual inflation can catch up on the numbers on the books*. Meanwhile, you still need to pay the minimum on your balance.

The bank holds a note on a 250k house before the Big Bust. After the Bust, the house is only worth 175K on the market. What do you do? You have your employees on the rotation at the Fed and Treasury print loads of money driving up real inflation while under reporting not to panic the rubes. Now, that house is once again worth 250K and your books are good. Meanwhile, the rubes get to cover your bad by paying twice as much at the stores for food, gas, and other daily commodities. It's almost as though it was a tax to bail you out.
Posted by: Procopius2k || 03/02/2017 5:42 Comments || Top||

#2  ...And a disturbing number of students seem to believe that the loans will ultimately be forgiven on a national basis (as opposed to individual) because "everybody knows that the loans will never be paid back so the government will have to bail them out like they bailed out the banks and auto companies."

The first part - 'never be paid back' - may actually have some small truth to it. But the lil' darlings seem to forget that as long as you are getting money from someplace, even unemployment payments, all it takes is a couple lines of code and you're making the payments whether you want to or not. No debates in the media or Washington, no arguments on Capitol Hill, and definitely no chance for you to argue about how unfair it may or may not be. Just some minimum wage data entry drone hitting some keys to enforce an agreement you freely made, so you are not burdened with having to figure out how you're going to pay and have that much more time to reflect upon your choice of Medieval Gender Studies as your major.

And book this - If Hillary! had the good sense to even suggest the remote possibility of a review of student loans, she'd be President right now. The next Democratic candidate won't make the same mistake.

#7  With the interest they charge on some of these loans they are paid back many times over before the principal is even dented. Hey, kids! It's a scam. There should be a truth in lending law that forces these kids to discover how long it will take them to repay the loans, and how much interest they will pay in the process, given their earning potential with their chosen academic majors.

Rachel Dolezal legally changed name to a West African moniker meaning 'gift of god'
- Rachel Dolezal, 39, changed her name to Nkechi Amare Diallo in a Washington state court in October. Legal documents show Nkechi, short for Nkechinyere, is a name that originates from the Igbo language of Nigeria and means 'what god has given' or 'gift of god'
She still hasn't turned black.
- Dolezal, former president of the NAACP’s Spokane, Washington chapter and a part-time professor of Africana Studies at Eastern Washington University, shot to notoriety in 2015 after being 'outed' as white by her parents
She doesn't even take a good tan.
- Just days after her recent name swap, the former professor started a Change.org petition under Nkechi Diallo to lobby TEDx to post one of her controversial speeches

- Dolezal's memoir, In Full Color, which charts her journey from childhood to NAACP president and activist, is set to be released next month
I understand she needs the money.

Restaurant in Michigan tells American Legion officers to remove jackets
KENTWOOD, Mich. -- American Legion officers say they were told they weren't permitted to wear their affiliated jackets at a Dave & Buster's in Michigan because they showed evidence of gang affiliation.

Victor Murdock and Adrienne Brown of the American Legion Riders Post 179 out of Grandville say they were told they couldn't wear their jackets inside the Kentwood restaurant. The jackets have patches of the American flag, the Prisoner of War flag and a bald eagle.

The Texas-based company said in a statement that the group was asked to remove the jackets or turn them inside out because the business' dress code prohibits evidence of gang affiliation. Spokeswoman April Spearman said the policy was in place "to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy themselves in a fun and safe environment."

"Though we understand that the American Legion promotes a positive mission, for consistency reasons we cannot allow motorcycle jackets displaying patches or rockers," she said.

Murdock said he doesn't see how the policy would apply to American Legion affiliates.

"I get it," he said. "Everyone has to have a policy to keep the unwanted element out. But an American flag and a bald eagle does not represent a gang element."

Spearman non-apologized for the frustration on behalf of the company.

"We are extremely grateful to all of our active military members and veterans and are honored to have them as valued guests in any of our locations," she wrote. "Our policies are in no way meant to be disrespectful and we apologize for any frustration this may have caused."
If no one was frustrated are you then not sorry?

Sudan gets PM for first time in 28 years
[AA.TR] For the first time in 28 years Sudan has a prime minister, presidential assistant Ibrahim Mahmoud said Wednesday.

Bakri Hassan Saleh was appointed to the post by President Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
, according to Mahmoud, who spoke at a news conference. "Saleh will also continue his duty as the president's first assistant" and form a Cabinet while consulting with partners who attended a national dialog process, Mahmoud said.

Al-Bashir eliminated the post of prime minister when he came to power in 1989 following a bloodless coup.

But late last year, the president proposed constitutional reforms that included the appointment of a prime minister.

Al-Bashir launched a national dialogue in 2015 in an attempt to end insurgencies in Sudan’s border regions but last October the talks were boycotted by the main opposition parties.

FARC begins disarming in Colombia
[AA.TR] Members of the FARC rebel group on Wednesday began disarming under the guidance of UN observers as the country moves into a new phase of a peace deal signed last year.

Doubts had been voiced by the government, the UN and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia
FARC or FARC-EP, is either a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary guerrilla organization or a drug cartel based in Colombia. It claims to represent the rural poor in a struggle against Colombia's wealthier classes, and opposes United States influence in Colombia, neo-imperialism, monopolization of natural resources by multinational corporations, and the usual raft of complaints. It funds itself principally through ransom kidnappings, taxation of the drug trade, extortion, shakedowns, and donations. It has lately begun calling itself Bolivarian and is greatly admired by Venezuela's President-for-Life Chavez, who seemingly fantasizes about living in the woods and kidnapping people himself. He provides FARC with safe areas along the border.
(FARC) about whether the March 1 commencement date to begin the disarming process would be met as some of the 26 zones of concentration in Colombia were not ready to receive the 6,900 rebels now committed to the peace agreement.

But as news came that the process had begin, the government sounded optimistic both sides would stay committed to the deal.

"It's an inescapable fact that the armed conflict is coming to an end," Interior Minister Juan Fernando Cristo told a local radio station. "We are in the initial phase of destroying unstable weaponry."

President Juan Manuel Santos, who relied the Nobel Peace Prize for working out the peace deal said late Tuesday that "the country has entered an irreversible stage of peace consolidation," and that "as a government, as a state and as a society we are going to make the fruits of peace a reality".

Russian Syrian wargame pulled from Steam
South Front claims the game was pulled because it was too pro Russian, which is a typical charge for that crowd.

The game developer said an anonymous individual from the czech Republic filed a copyright violation claim with Steam. The game's developer said that they had previously contacted an unidentified developer for permission to use parts of their game, but they were not given as reply.

They went ahead with their own version of the game. The developer said their game is separate from the game. They wanted to use it as a base.

Isometric graphics don't appeal to me The game platform I do use, Arma 3 features mods for the Syrian civil war.

As I have said elsewhere: The Syrian Civil War will provide fodder for wargamers for the next 20 years. It is the Great Patriotic War of modern times.

Security guarantees, land mines delay repairs on Donetsk water plant
The Ukrainian held town of Avdievka reports that its water supply is reaching critical levels, as Ukrainian and Russian backed rebels negotiate repairs on the Avdievka water filtration plant, according to Russian language news accounts.

The Avdievka water filtration plant has been out of operation since February 24th, when workers left the facility following artillery attacks by Ukrainian forces, according to rebel charges. Ukrainians countered with charges that rebel artillery has hit critical electrical infrastructure used to deliver water to the Ukrainian side of the line.

Both sides are under threat of water shortages, although the rebel side has yet to remark on the crisis.

At the moment negotiations have stalled between the two warring factions over security guarantees. Ukrainians say that rebels have fired mortar launched land mines near the water plant. Ukrainians also have mines in the area and have offered to remove those explosives as long as rebels do not fire onto the area.

This 30 month war has built up a surplus of distrust between the two sides, especially now in the wake of the Ukrainian national government imposition of an economic blockade on both Donetsk and Lugansk. The governments of Donetsk and Lugansk have responded that they will seize heavy industrial assets, effectively "nationalizing" those businesses.

Rebel forces have been firing artillery and mortars on Ukrainian positions over the last 24 hours. Mortar fire has been reported on Ukrainian positions near the coastal city of Mariupol, including at Gnutovo, Shirokino, Pavlopovo and Vodyanoye. Ukrainians reported that 122mm artillery hit Ukrainian positions at Vodyanoye.

Rebel 152mm artillery hit Ukrainian positions near Donetsk city, including at Luganskoye and Troitskoye. Both 120mm and 82mm mortar fire was reported in the Donetsk city area including at Peski, Zaitsevo, Troitskoye, Novoluganskoye, Kamenka, Avdievka and Opytnoye.

Ukrainian news accounts also report that one unidentified Ukrainian soldier was killed and seven more were wounded, five of them in the shelling at Butovka mine.

The rebel ministry of defense in Donetsk reported that Ukrainian artillery pounded Yasinovataya, Vasilevka and Mineralevka for four hours on Wednesday, knocking out power in Vasilevka. The report does not specify what kind of artillery was used in the attack. Yasinovataya and surrounding areas sit astride the main road between Donetsk and Gorlovka, to the north, and has been contested by the two sides for nearly 18 months.

Rebels also claim that Ukrainian forces have fired on their positions more than 1,700 times, but that total includes small arms fire.

In Dokuchaevsk, near the Russian border on the northern coast of the Sea of Azov, Ukrainian artillery damaged two residential buildings. Two more residential buildings were damaged by Ukrainian artillery fire in the northern Donetsk town of Gorlovka.

Ukrainian artillery fire also hit targets in western Donetsk city, and in Zhelznaya Balka, Mikailovka, Zaitsevo, Ozeryanovka and Verkhnetoretskoye.

In the south, near the Mariupol region, Ukrainian artillery hit rebel held locations at Sakhanka, Oktyabr, Leninskoye and Kominternovo.

Rebels are reporting one dead and one wounded soldier, both unidentified.

Erdogan: Occupied Karabakh conflict cannot be ignored
[AA.TR] Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
Wednesday brought up the situation of occupied Karabakh two days after an Azerbaijani soldier was martyred in a border clash with Armenian forces.

Speaking at the Economic Cooperation Organisation’s (ECO) 13th summit in Islamabad, Pakistain, Erdogan said 20 years of negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia had not resulted in a solution to the conflict.

"We, particularly, cannot ignore the Upper Karabakh issue," Erdogan said.

Erdogan also said that the international mediation group -- the Minsk Group -- had failed to find a peaceful solution to the Karabakh conflict.OThe Minsk Group, created in 1992, leads the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)'s efforts to find a solution to the dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The president urged ECO countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to work together to find a solution to the conflict, stressing that Armenia's "occupant attitude" should be addressed at each international meeting.

"We, both as ECO and Organization of Islamic Cooperation, should pay attention [to the situation]," he said.

An Azerbaijani soldier was martyred on Monday in a border clash, the country's Defense Ministry said. On Feb. 24, five soldiers were similarly martyred.

Last week's incident nearly coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly Massacre of Feb. 25-26, 1992, in which Armenian forces killed 613 Azerbaijanis in Karabakh.

China-Japan-Koreas
White House Options on North Korea Include Use of Military Force
[WSJ] An internal White House review of strategy on North Korea includes the possibility of military force or regime change to blunt the country’s nuclear-weapons threat, people familiar with the process said, a prospect that has some U.S. allies in the region on edge.

While President Donald Trump has taken steps to reassure allies that he won’t abandon agreements that have underpinned decades of U.S. policy on Asia, his pledge that Pyongyang would be stopped from ever testing an intercontinental ballistic missile--coupled with the two-week-old strategy review--has some leaders bracing for a shift in American policy.

The U.S. review comes as recent events have strained regional stability. Last month, North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan, and the estranged half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was killed in Malaysia.

Chinese and North Korean officials are holding talks in Beijing, the first known high-level meeting in nearly a year, and Beijing recently curtailed coal imports from North Korea.

U.S. officials have underscored the possible military dimensions of their emerging strategy in recent discussions with allies, according to people familiar with the talks.

South Korea sends warning to Pyongyang as drills kick off
[AA.TR] South Korea was joined by the United States on Wednesday in beginning annual military drills that have provoked past tensions with North Korea, which views the exercises as war preparations.

This year’s drills coincide with an already delicate situation as Seoul and Washington push ahead with a plan to deploy an anti-missile THAAD system following North Korea’s banned ballistic projectile test last month.

The Foal Eagle exercise will continue until the end of April alongside another drill named Key Resolve from March 13, according to Seoul’s defense ministry.

The U.S. is expected to demonstrate its force by sending powerful military assets on top of the nearly 30,000 American troops already stationed on the peninsula.

In a speech on the 98th anniversary of Korea’s March 1 Independence Movement, the South’s acting President and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn cautioned that the allies are ready to cope with Pyongyang.

"We will strongly punish any provocations and threats from North Korea based on the solid Seoul-Washington alliance," Hwang was quoted as saying by local news agency Yonhap as he stands in for scandal-hit President Park Geun-hye while her impeachment ruling is pending.

He also addressed Pyongyang’s alleged role in the death of North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
’s half-brother in Malaysia on Feb. 13.

After Malaysian authorities determined that Kim Jong-nam was killed by a powerful nerve agent, VX, Hwang said in his speech that "the world is shocked" by the North’s use of a banned chemical weapon.

North Korea denies stockpiling chemical weapons and having any involvement in the apparent murder.

Seoul is seeking to punish Pyongyang for the death in addition to existing United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
Security Council sanctions aimed at curbing the North’s development of nuclear weapons.

Economy
Hhgregg closing 88 stores, including six in Illinois
[Chicago Tribune] Electronics retailer Hhgregg will close 40 percent of its stores as it works to stem the red ink and turn around slow sales.

The 88 store closings include Hhgregg's Schaumburg, Bloomingdale, Arlington Heights, Niles, Springfield and Champaign locations, the company said in a news release Thursday. The Indianapolis-based retailer is also closing three distribution centers in Maryland, Florida and Pennsylvania.

The retailer has 12 other stores in Illinois.

Hhgregg President and CEO Robert Riesbeck said the closing stores are unprofitable or located in areas that are no longer shopping destinations.
Schaumburg, Bloomingdale, Arlington Heights, Niles, say whaaaa ?
"We feel strongly that the markets we will remain in are the right ones for our customers and our business model. Our team is dedicated to moving forward and being a profitable 132 store, multiregional chain where we will continue to be a dominant force in appliances, electronics and home furnishings," he said.

The 88 stores are expected to close by mid-April, eliminating about 1,500 jobs, Hhgregg said.

Hhgregg said last month it hired a financial adviser and investment banker to pursue a range of potential strategic and financial transactions to help it find ways to get back to profitability.

#2  U.S. retailers have a "ridiculous" problem

When Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren appeared on CNBC last week to discuss his company’s plans to shutter 100 stores, he noted that the U.S. has a “ridiculous” amount of retail space, equaling about 7.3 square feet per capita. That’s well in excess of the 1.7 square feet per capita in Japan and France, and the U.K.’s 1.3 square feet.

Indeed, retail industry observers have argued for years that the U.S. is “overstored,” and as more shopping shifts online, the costs of maintaining brick-and-mortar stores will prove too much for many chains. The problem, years in the making, is getting only worse, according to retail analysts.

“The U.S. is the most overstored it’s ever been,” said Jan Rogers Kniffen, an independent retail industry analyst.

#5  A big part of the problem is anaylists who have never worked in an actual retail store. This Christmas my chain could not get stock out of China. Hatchimals, Nintendo, cameras, amazon fire sticks, etc. Toys all came in dribbles because we had to air freight them. Then the "analysts" and their MBA kin decided online would get priority in stock. I turned away thousands in sales every day from Black Friday until Christmas BECAUSE WE HAD NO STOCK OR ANY HOPE OF GETTING ANY. It is March and we are still waiting for November replenishment. Thanks China. But Christmas trees will be cheap.
If the analysts were so smart, why aren't they living in The Hamptons watching their servants peel grapes.

India-Pakistan
PTV anchor resigns from post amid 'harassment' controversy
[DAWN] Pakistain Televison (PTV) anchor Tanzeela Mazhar, whose account of harassment and unwanted advances by a senior rocked the media, on Wednesday announced she had resigned from the TV channel.

Mazhar wrote in her resignation, which she also tweeted, that: "Things were made very difficult for me to work and I was facing huge psychological torture every day."

"Overall, the environment at this office had become absolutely non-conducive and I was being threatened in every possible way to submit to that environment to secure my job and career," she alleged.

This, she wrote, happened as a result of her constant complaints against PTV’s current affairs director, "who made unwelcome advances" at her in 2009.

"[...] After my resistance/confronting [my abuser] on his attitude, I was exploited and put off screen for [a] few months," she alleged.

The Ministry of Information, which has oversight over PTV, was unable to comment on the matter as it was unaware of the development.

Home Front: Culture Wars
Colin Kaepernick won't protest during national anthem during 2017 season
"Colin Kaepernick's national anthem protest won’t carry over into next season, USA TODAY Sports confirmed Thursday.

Kaepernick, who is expected to opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers, either sat or kneeled while The Star-Spangled Banner was played before Niners games last season, a protest meant to draw attention to racial inequality and police brutality. He will discontinue his public protest in 2017, wherever he plays next season, a person with knowledge of Kaepernick's plans told USA TODAY Sports' Tom Pelissero.

The person requested anonymity because Kaepernick has not yet made his decision public.

Kaepernick’s refusal to stand during the anthem was adopted by several other NFL players and athletes in other professional sports leagues. It led some to boycott the NFL, which potentially contributed to the league’s 8% decline in ratings last year.

Kaepernick said last September that he had received death threats in the days after he began his protest in the preseason.

ESPN was the first to report that Kaepernick would end his national anthem boycott."

I suspect Mr. Kaepernick will find that de-crapping a ricebowl is harder than crapping it.

Deployed US Navy Has A Preggies Problem, And It's Getting Worse
[Daily Caller] A record 16 out of 100 Navy women are reassigned from ships to shore duty due to pregnancy, according to data obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by the Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group.

That number is up 2 percent from 2015, representing hundreds more who have to cut their deployments short, taxing both their unit’s manpower, military budgets and combat readiness. Further, such increases cast a shadow over the lofty gender integration goals set by former President Barack Obama.

Overall, women unexpectedly leave their stations on Navy ships as much as 50% more frequently to return to land duty, according to documents obtained from the Navy. The statistics were compiled by the Navy Personnel Command at the request of TheDCNF, covering the period from January 2015 to September 2016.

The evacuation of pregnant women is costly for the Navy. Jude Eden, a nationally known author about women in the military who served in 2004 as a Marine deployed to Iraq said a single transfer can cost the Navy up to $30,000 for each woman trained for a specific task, then evacuated from an active duty ship and sent to land. That figure translates into $115 million in expenses for 2016 alone.

#2  In the old days, when a military member self inflicted a wound to avoid danger or combat, the military justice handed out was rather harsh. That included the 'auxiliaries' being mustered out of the service. Today we have female privilege. They're rewarded. Meanwhile somewhere, some guy, is being tagged to go and fill the gap. He and his family are punished. DNA tag the kid, hunt down the sperm donor. If in uniform, prosecute.
