Taliban are brothers , says HIA chief Gulbuddin Hekmatyar
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The leader of Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar

says Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
are brothers despite the party is related to Taliban, al-Qaeda, ISIS or any other group.

Hekmatyar made the remarks during his speech in capital Kabul and in the presence of the of the former Jihadi leader leaders including Abdul Rab Rasool Sayyaf
...Afghan Salafist warlord, owned by Saudi Arabia. He was the guy who invited al-Qaeda to come into Afghanistan and make themselves at home...
and the current government leaders including the chief executive Abdullah Abdulla.

In his speech during the gathering in ARG Palace in Kabul today, Hekmatyar said the current system in Afghanistan is Presidential and we do not believe in parliamentary system and the parliamentary system is not acceptable in Afghanistan considering the current situation.

Hekmatyar further added that the coalition governments are failed in everywhere, insisting that the current is not suitable in the situation of Afghanistan.

UN condemns ‘gruesome’ killing of Somali minster
[SHABELLENEWS] The United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
especial representative for Somalia Michael Keating has strongly condemned the gruesome killing of Abas Siraji the public works and reconstruction minister.

In a Twitter post, Mr Keating has termed the killing as a horrible shock and a big loss for Somalia, saying that UN assistance mission in Somalia (UNSOM) is mourning his death.

UNSOM has sent heartfelt condolences to family and friends of late Minster of Public Works Abbas Abdullahi Siraji, who embodied energy and idealism of young Somalis.

Siraji who was the youngest minister in Somali cabinet was rubbed out last evening near the Presidential Palace by the security guards of the Auditor General Dr Nur Farah Jimale.

The minister was killed in his car, after being mistaken for myrmidon trying to block the auditor’s vehicle and kill him in a drive-by shooting. However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money...
investigation is underway.

Sadek Ghariani says the Serraj-Hafter meeting is a conspiracy
[Libya Herald] Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
’s Dar al-Ifta head Sheikh Sadek Ghariani has branded the Abu Dhabi meeting between Faiez Serraj and Khalifa Hafter as a conspiracy against the 17 February Revolution.

Ghariani used his weekly programme on his Tanasuh satellite TV channel to call for all Libyans to take to the streets in protest .

He said the Presidency Council head was seeking a compromise while Khalifa Hafter’s "militias" were still killing civilians in Benghazi and in the south of the country.

The Benghazi Revolutionaries’ Shoura Council, which has received the blessing of Ghariani, was even more forthright in a statement it put out today. Describing Hafter as "an infidel tyrant" it called on all "Benghazi revolutionaries" to join it in its fight against him.

Sisi arrives in UAE with Hafter and Serraj still in Abu Dhabi
[Libya Herald] Egyptian president Abdel Fattah Sisi has arrived in the UAE for talks with Emirati leaders, but also reportedly to see Khalifa Hafter and Faiez Serraj who remain in Abu Dhabi.

While it is not yet confirmed that he will meet the Presidency Council head and Libyan National Army (LNA) chief, Sisi has long sought to bring the two together. He has put considerable pressure on Hafter to step up negotiations with the west of the country.

This included his failed initiative to set up a meeting in Cairo this February where Hafter refused to see Serraj, a decision that irritated the Egyptian president.

Militants force Misrata mayor to resign; a decision he later retracted
[Libya Herald] The Mayor of Misrata was forced to resign last night by protestors who forced their way into a building where he was having a meeting. He subsequently announced that the resignation was not effective because he had been forced to act under duress and that he would continue in his role as per usual.

Mohammed Eshtewi was holding a meeting with Bunyan Marsous
...(al-Bunyan al-Marsous, Solid Base) An operation carried out by Misratan forces loyal to the Libyan Goverenment of National Accord to dislodge ISIS forces from Sirte. 2,500 turbans were reported killed in the operation, which lasted from May through December.GNA's Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj officially announced the end of military operations on 18 December 2016...
representatives and Sirte mayor Mukhtar al-Madani when protestors stormed the building at around 8 pm last night.

Unconfirmed reports say gunshots were fired and Eshtewi released a statement on a scrappy piece of paper saying he had resigned.

He was shouted at and pushed and the protestors refused to let him out, although no weapon was ever directly aimed at him

"I had no other choice. I wanted to preserve the safety of those present," he later insisted.

Eshtewi said his resignation letter meant nothing and asked everyone to ignore it.

"I assure you that I will continue in my job as normal," he added.

The meeting was held at the Misrata Housing Foundation because the opposition has blocked the municipal building.

Last month, protestors who want to force out the elected mayor and councillors and replace them with a team supporting the city’s military council and hardliners opposed to both Khalifa Hafter and the Presidency Council bricked up the entrance to the municipal council building. A subsequent court order to remove the wall has not been executed; when council workers arrived to knock it down, they were prevented by protestors.

Bangladesh
Hefazat: Don’t cover Lady Justice, remove it
[Dhaka Tribune] Salafist group Hefajat-e-Islam
...a madrassa-based false nose and mustache of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, formed in 2010 to protest against secular education. In 2011 demonstrated violentyly against women's rights and in 2013 held large rallies demanding capital punishment of Shahbag Square protesters and banning women working outside the home...
has rejected the idea of covering the Lady Justice statue erected on the Supreme Court premises during prayer times, calling the idea "ridiculous."

"Covering the statue or not covering it is the same thing," Hefazat Secretary General Junaid Babunagari said in a statement, renewing their demand to install a replica of the Qur’an instead.

Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
made the same demand after the prime minister said that suggested that it be covered during prayers at the adjacent National Eidgah.

In the statement issued Wednesday, Babunagari argued that a Greek goddess had nothing in common with Bangladesh’s culture and heritage, and hoped that the prime minister would understand the pulse of the people and remove it.

Hefazat chief Shafi had claimed that "ideological aggression" was going on against Islam and Bangladesh’s Moslems "in the name of secularism."

Islami Andolon Bangladesh chief Mufti Rezaul Karim, better known as Charmonai Pir, had previously warned of bloodshed if the sculpture was not removed.

Hardline Islamist groups have been seeking the statue’s removal for several months now. Hefazat, who dubbed the statue an "anti-Islamic idol," approached the prime minister and the chief justice with their demand on February 14.

A group of religious scholars, including Hefazat chief Shah Ahmad Shafi, raised the demand at a meeting with Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She has been the President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She has once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia show such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums..
at the Ganabhaban on April 11. Hasina agreed to the demand partially on that day, saying she did not like the Greek statue.

The premier later said that the statue should be shifted to a different spot inside the court premises, and hoped that the chief justice would consider the matter. Several ministers and senior Awami League leaders also told the media that the chief justice was the person to take the decision.

Soon after the prime minister’s comments, leaders of Hefazat and other Islamist parties that eye Shariah law in the country started demanding removal of all statues of living beings across the country. Even al-Qaeda’s Bangladesh supported Hefazat on the issue.

On October 15, 2008, Islamists knocked down the statue of Lalon Shah being erected in front of the Dhaka airport, and damaged the Balaka (crane) statue in Dilkusha area on November 29 the same year.

Congress Eyes Crackdown On Terror-Tied Iranian Airline Amid Deals with Boeing
[Free Beacon] Congress is considering new methods to crack down on and expose a state-controlled Iranian airline company that routinely uses commercial flights to ferry weapons and terrorist fighters to regional hotspots, according to a copy of new bipartisan legislation circulating through the Senate and obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

The legislation comes after U.S. plane manufacturer Boeing has announced plans to move forward with a multi-billion dollar deal with Iran Air, an Iranian state-controlled company that is likely to dole out at least a portion of the new airplanes to Mahan Air, another state-controlled carrier suspected of playing a key role in the country's terrorism operations.

The new legislation, which specifically targets Mahan Air, would require the Trump administration to provide Congress with a list of all airports where the commercial carrier has landed. This information will be used to boost security measures on all planes flying into the United States that may have docked at an airport used by Mahan Air.

The move is being viewed as just the first move by Congress against Mahan and other Iranian airline carriers, which are currently in the process of hammering down multi-billion dollar deals with Boeing and other major plane builders.

Violence erupts in Hub as police refuse to hand Hindu man suspected of blasphemy over to enraged mob
[DAWN] Violence erupted in Lasbela district's Hub area after police refused to hand over a Hindu man suspected of blasphemy to an angry mob, DawnNews reported, with locals resorting to pelting stones at police when their demands were not met.

Prakash Kumar, a local business owner, was suspected of sharing a picture containing allegedly blasphemous content on WhatsApp, Hub police officials said.

A First Information Report was registered against Kumar on the complaint of various community members under Sections 295-A and 295-C of Pakistain's blasphemy law. The suspect was shifted to Gaddani Central Jail.

An hours-long protest outside the Hub city cop shoppe turned violent, with protesters pelting stones at police, after law enforcement officials refused the protesters' demand that police hand over the Hindu man to the community so they could administer justice themselves and 'punish' Kumar.

Hub City police dispersed the crowd of enraged protesters through tear gas shelling and gun sex, and took 20 protesters into custody.

Search operations were underway to arrest those suspected of inciting the mob to violence, police said.

Hub Circle Deputy Sub-Inspector Police Jan Mohammad Khosa as well as Police Constable Mukhtiar Ahmed, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Tariq Javed Mengal were maimed in the violence, along with an Edhi rescue official and a child.

The child later departed this vale of tears, as he had received bullet wounds which turned fatal. The dear departed boy is yet to be identified.

Shops owned by members of the Hindu community were shut down and all roads connecting Sindh to Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
via Hub were closed for operations until further notice.

Iraq, US in talks to keep American troop presence after ISIS
Sometimes lessons need to be learnt the hard way.
[Ynet] A US and an Iraqi government official say Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi is in talks with the Trump administration to keep American troops in Iraq after the fight against the Islamic State

The officials emphasize the discussions are ongoing. But the talks point to a consensus by both governments that, in contrast to the U.S. withdrawal in 2011, a longer-term presence of American troops in Iraq is needed to ensure Iraq's security.

Syrian opposition says safe zones plan threatens to divide nation
[ARA] Syria’s armed opposition said on Thursday it could not accept creating safe zones in Syria because it threatens the country’s territorial integrity and said it would also not recognize Iran as a guarantor of the peace plan.

Russia, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
and Iran signed on Thursday a memorandum on creating safe zones in Syria, while the delegation of the armed Syrian opposition walked out and shouted angrily after a new round of peace talks held in the Kazakh capital Astana.

Russia, Turkey and Iran act as guarantors of the Astana grinding of the peace processor.

"We want Syria to maintain its integrity," opposition delegate Osama Abu Zaid said after the three guarantor states, Russia, Turkey and Iran signed a memorandum on creating safe zones in Syria at peace talks held in the Kazakh capital Astana.

"We are against the division of Syria. As for the agreements, we are not a party to that agreement and of course we will never be in favor (of it) as long as Iran is called a guarantor state."

Abu Zaid also said that there is "a huge gap" between Russia’s promises and actions.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido had been cornered by the banditti...
the Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said that next Syria peace talks would be held in Astana in mid-July.

Syrian Democratic Forces deny evacuation deal with ISIS
[ARA] The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Thursday denied reports about ISIS handing over Tabqa city and Tabqa Dam to the SDF after an evacuation deal.

"All the news and rumours about Tabqa and the Dam’s liberation after ISIS evacuated their positions through an agreement are baseless," the SDF general command said in a statement.

The Kurdish-led SDF further said that festivities are still going on between their forces and Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
’s (ISIS) gunnies in some parts of Tabqa city, in Syria’s northern Raqqa province.

According to the SDF, there are still festivities in three neighbourhoods of Tabqa.

"All the rumors going around that we have made a ’deal’ with ISIS [ISIS] here in Tabqa are NOT true," Jesper Söder, a Swedish SDF member, told ARA News.

The Official Spokesperson for the SDF-led Raqqa Operations Room, Jihan Sheikh Ahmed, said that the fighting is ongoing between ISIS and the SDF, despite ISIS attempts to break the SDF-led siege on them in Tabqa by attacking the SDF in Shaddadi in Hasakah province and near Raqqa city.

"We confirm that our goal is clear, which is fighting terrorism and eliminate it wherever it is, and clear humanity from it’s evil," she said.
