Given that portraits of old Ottoman and Mongol emperors revealed a rather portly bunch, I believe the access to the means had more to do with it. Also, given that so much of the inner city is overrun with feral youth, there seems to be a corollary of access and the resources to 'feed the kids'. You get more of what you subsidize.

Think about her point of view and why she would consider it important to have your social security number, Gmail password, and Pornhub search history in a secret folder. Take advantage of these "teachable moments" to have meaningful discussions about colluding with Russia with your teen.
Explain the Negative Consequences of Colluding With Russia
When talking to your teen about colluding with Russia honesty is the best policy. Your teen should understand that if he has been out late colluding with Russia he should never, under any circumstances, get in a car -- especially a nondescript windowless van with diplomatic license plates. He should understand that you will come get him and give him a ride home no questions asked!

If other teens in your child’s peer group are colluding with Russia, then she is likely to feel pressured to follow suit in order to fit in. For example if she goes to a mall and sees one of her friends stuff a thumb drive up under the paper towel dispenser in the restroom, she will no doubt feel a curious exhilaration and a compulsion to emulate such behavior. Similarly, teens may also be influenced into colluding with Russia by movies, TV shows, or current events that depict colluding with Russia as "cool," "fun," or even a little dangerous. You should actively assist your teen by praising their good behaviors and accomplishments, which can help passively discourage transgressive forays such as offering to launder money through a complex array of shell companies or cash real estate purchases.
Remember, any effort you make now to address your teen’s colluding with Russia is like an investment in their future. The last thing any parent wants is for the behavior to carry into adulthood when it can seriously hurt the parent as well as the child!

Before that I had an ex-Soviet Russian designing a test tool for me.
In college my favorite Comp Engr professor was a defector from the U of Kiev.
We couldn't have designed our first digital cellular products as easily as we did without a bunch of ex-KGB and GRU programmers looking for work. (they were a million times better programmers than the H1B visa folks)
Oh and for divisional strategy in the corporate battles our division had an ex-kgb chief from one of the 'stans.
So I see the collusion these pols talk about and laugh..
BTW one of the best ex-soviet products that the US biz grabbed was TRIZ. (google it)

Just for your information 'Burgers: I was born in Soviet Union and was a member of communist youth (obligatory) till the age of 13. So, the lot of you are already compromised beyond redemption.

I was visiting my favorite hardware store recently and overheard a fellow buying a logjack telling about the one he used to have at his place in Vermont. Overhearing him could not be helped. Other Georgia patrons within earshot looked as though they were listening to a martian. It was humorous, but somewhat depressing.

There are some who see the light and turn away from liberalism. There are some hosts who turn on them and defend their successful region against them. These are the noble anti bodies that every conservative area should have but don't.
Don't stand by and listen. Interject yourself into their conversation. Let them know the house rules or they will be wishing they never came to Dodge City.

I don't know about taxes in Kansas but taxes in NJ, NY, and CT, and IL are insanely high. Vermont seems to be doing well. Also, I surprised there isn't movement out of CA.

Washington still has a strong Republican constituency, they're drown out by the giveaway crowd in Seattle though. We used to be great : Dan Evans, Sid Morrison, Tom Foley...... at least the Cowles are in Spokane

There is a general lack of spine among the elected leaders of even conservative strongholds. Oklahoma just went thru a lengthy budget battle and NEITHER side could seem to even MENTION "cutting spending"--instead the Dems and Republicans argued about WHICH method or methods of taxation/tolls would magically make the books balance. We have a lot of to worry about--creeping socialism is creeping more quickly than I remember it doing so previously.

Imagine all those New Yorkers living day to day in New York and they look around and think to themselves, "All my neighbors are jerks." It doesn't occur to them that they are jerks too. Maybe it's something in the water or the dirty, crowded, noisy living conditions. So they move but wherever they go they keep encountering other New Yorkers. Now, all of you people like to talk about California but I can tell you for a fact, because I was here and I remember, that California wasn't always the way it is today. But shit happens and a lot of it was from New York.

Transgender ban was proven necessary when Berghdahl defected to the Taliban because he was not a soldier that could handle the grind referred to in the above Tweets. Of you are twisted enough to be a fake woman, you are a liability and soldiers will have plenty of opportunity to shoot your ass.

By estimates there are nearly 700,000 transgender individuals in the U.S., or 0.3% of the adult population. Suppose the figure is accurate. Estimates of the percentage of the population who serve in the military is less than 1.0% of the population. 0.3% of less than 1.0% is a very small percentage of the population--what is it, less than 0.003% or <3 out of 100,000 population? There is a whole lot of attention being given to a very small issue.
Consider also the cost of transgender surgery. Should the taxpayers foot the bill for people in the military who want to have this surgery? I don't think it is discrimination of a minority group because people don't want to foot the bill. Moreover, the military should not be a vehicle for every social engineering notion the Progressives might have.
It would seem that one could have a reasonable debate about this issue without being assaulted by PC crap that cuts off any debate. It would also seem that the rights of transgenders can be protected by the basics of the Constitution. I suppose those on the left have different notions about what basic rights are provided by the Constitution.

But in response to that tweet storm, someone will inevitably point out that the third assistant line cook is not under the pressures seen at the tip of the spear. The point has to be consistent rules and regulations across the entire DoD, ir really nasty stresses will develop.
A RAND Corporation released at the time said that there were between 1,320 and 6,630 transgender people currently serving in all branches of the military.
The article is about former SEAL and transgender Kristin Beck's quivering indignation about President Trump's annuoncement. The poor dear looks like she still has to shave daily.

I am not aware of a ban. A tweet is not the same as an executive order. The tweet was a distraction. When Trump issues the executive order I will believe it...until then all Trump is doing is teasing us conservatives and distracting the liberals...
