It Wasn't Comey's Decision to Exonerate Hillary – It Was Obama's
[National Review] The thing to understand, what has always been the most important thing to understand, is that Jim Comey was out in front, but he was not calling the shots.

On the right, the commentariat is in full-throttle outrage over the revelation that former FBI Director Comey began drafting his statement exonerating Hillary Clinton in April 2016 ‐ more than two months before he delivered the statement at his now famous July 5 press conference.

The news appears in a letter written to new FBI Director Christopher Wray by two senior Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans, Chairman Chuck Grassley and Senator Lindsey Graham.

Pundits and the Trump administration are shrieking because this indicates the decision to give the Democrats’ nominee a pass was clearly made long before the investigation was over, and even long before key witnesses, including Clinton herself, were interviewed.

#1  Ah, the National Review. Whose side are they on?

#2  Soetoro didn't want that FBI/DoJ email decoder ring to discover his own clandestine communications, and still doesn't. You take a look at the Beest's 30,000 (+ or -) email, you're likely find a whole host of surprises.

Comey was too cock sure of himself not to have been 'backstopped.' Just my take on that evil bastid.

One set of rules for them, one set for us.

#3  With the time Soetoro had left on the clock, he only had two choices:

1. Do nothing and permit the investigation take it's course to an indictment and be blamed for her demise as well as have his dique rubbed in the dirt.

2. End the investigation using his FBI Director and her old friend, confidant, and bag man James Comey. My guess is (and only a guess), Soetoro used Slick Willie and events at Sky Harbor Airport as a convenient cutout. Under (very improbable) testimony, Soetoro could correctly say 'he never discussed the Clinton issue with Lynch.'

He chose door #2.

Standoff brews between Senate, FBI over Trump dossier
[Washington Examiner] Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Charles Grassley and the committee's ranking Democrat, Dianne Feinstein, want to interview two high-ranking FBI officials about some key aspects of the bureau's role in the Trump-Russia investigation -- the Trump dossier, the firing of James Comey, and more. But the FBI doesn't want those officials to talk -- even though the Judiciary Committee has oversight responsibility for the FBI, and even though the request is bipartisan, and even though there appears to be no conflict with the ongoing Trump-Russia investigation conducted by special prosecutor Robert Mueller.

A standoff could be developing.

It began on July 11, when Grassley and Feinstein wrote letters to James Rybicki, who was Director Comey's chief of staff, and Carl Ghattas, head of the bureau's national security branch. "The committee is investigating the removal of FBI Director James Comey, Russian interference in the 2016 election, and allegations of improper interference in law enforcement investigations," the chairman and ranking member wrote. "Please make yourself available for a transcribed interview during the week of July 24, 2017."

#2  Problem is, the FBI has rights of priority of investigation of crimes committed on federal property. So basically all they have to do is decide there's a conspiracy...

#3  If Christopher Steele is hold up in a Special Branch safe house (as has been reported), then I believe we can safely assume the 'conspiracy' question is a mute point.

Trump arrives in Texas for second visit since Harvey
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
arrived in Houston on Saturday to meet with victims of Hurricane Harvey after a week of historic flooding in the area claimed at least 40 lives and displaced more than 1 million people.

On his second visit to the region since the storm made landfall in the United States last week, Trump disembarked from Air Force One wearing dark pants and a rain jacket and was greeted by a group that included Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

Trump was accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, who wore a blue hat that read "Texas" and a blue denim shirt, and a handful of cabinet members, including Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and Veteran Affairs Secretary David Shulkin.

Trump asked Congress late Friday for an initial $7.85 billion for hurricane recovery efforts. Abbott has said that his state may need more than $125 billion.

The president will meet with Harvey victims at the air field before heading to a relief center. Trump did not interact with victims on his trip Tuesday to Corpus Christi and Austin.

Earlier, as he left aboard Air Force One from a military base in Maryland he had tweeted: "We will see you soon. America is with you!"

Left-wing activists launch ‘No Red Cross’ campaign, ask for donor dollars
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Activists are discouraging Hurricane Harvey donors from giving to the American Red Thingy and urging them instead to contribute to left-wing causes, some of which are advocacy groups engaged in little if any emergency relief work.

Linda Sarsour, a prominent Moslem and feminist activist, sent out a tweet encouraging donors to give to the Texas Organizing Project Education Fund, which conducts "direct action organizing, grass-roots lobbying and electoral organizing led by working families in Texas."

"TOP is one of many organizations on this list you can choose to support," Ms. Sarsour said in a Wednesday tweet that included the #NoRedCross hashtag. "Grassroots orgs on ground. Long term needed."

The Texas Organizing Project, which has fought Texas voter ID laws and supported sanctuary-state status, is part of the Hurricane Harvey Community Relief Fund, a coalition that includes labor groups such as the Service Employees International Union as well as Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid.

"Together we will organize and advocate for our devastated communities, shining a spotlight on inequalities that emerge in the restoration of lives, livelihoods and homes, amplifying the needs of hard-hit communities, and providing legal assistance for residents wrongfully denied government support," the coalition says on its fundraising page.

Boston Globe Reveals Liz Warren's Christian Faith
I learned this at a very early age from reading the Manchester Union Leader and the Boston Globe side by side for a few years - how are these bastards lying to me now?
Religion is constant part of Elizabeth Warren’s life

When Senator Elizabeth Warren last week visited the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta ‐ religious home to the heirs and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. ‐ the liberal firebrand began her remarks in a familiar vein, decrying an economy that only works "for a thin slice at the top."

It might have been just another political stop, a timely bit of outreach to the African-American voters who could be key should she run for president.

But then Warren shifted her focus to Matthew 25:40 ‐ and Jesus.

"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me," Warren said, quoting the Gospel. Then she shared her interpretation: "He’s saying to us, first, there’s God in every one of us,there’s Jesus in every one of us ‐ however you see it in your religion, that inside there’s something holy in every single person."

White House readies $5.9bn request for Harvey recovery aid
[Dawn] The Trump proposal, which is being finalised pending White House consultations with key Republicans, is likely to be just a fraction of an eventual Harvey recovery package that could rival the $100-billion-plus in taxpayer-financed help for victims of 2005’s Hurricane Katrina.

Jesse Jackson: Trump ‘Would Not Qualify to Get Into Jesus’ Kingdom’
[Free Beacon] "Trump says you must be able to speak the language of English, [be] qualified, and have a job skill," Jackson said Monday. "Jesus would not qualify to come in Trump's country—he would not qualify to get into Jesus' kingdom."
Given that Jesus spoke Hebrew, Aramaic, and probably marketplace Greek and some classical Latin. Adding modern English would have come easily for him. And he was a skilled carpenter as well as a scholar and lecturer, so he would have a number of saleable skills. As for where Mr. Trump will go when he dies, I believe the Teacher said, "Judge not, lest ye be judged."
Jackson made the comment Monday at the "Ministers March for Justice," which was spearheaded by Rev. Al Sharpton and featured ministers from various traditions united in opposing the Trump administration."

#10  May the Lord forgive Jesse Jackson for his sins which are well documented and many. Let the irony be clear to all that this same sinner who masquerades as a man of God finds no grace in his own heart for our duly elected president who, with all the threats and challenges our nation faces, needs all the prayers and support he can get.

I don't use this word very often so I had to look up how to spell it. I don't use it lightly but I think it is the correct word for Reverend Jackson: hypocrite.

Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Says ‘Maine’s Whiteness Is Bad News’
[BREITBART] Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mark Eves believes "Maine’s whiteness is bad news" according to remarks he delivered during a Maine People’s Alliance event this week.

According to Maine First Media and Big League Politics, the former Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives delivered the remarks while addressing a group of nearly one hundred activists and grassroots supporters Wednesday evening at the "Resistance Rising" forum event put on by the Maine People’s Alliance in Lewiston.

Eves reportedly said Maine is going to be in trouble if it does not attract a more diverse population.

Organizers of the event ironically noted that the Wednesday’s gathering was put together to "help everyday Mainers and fight back against the racist and xenophobic rhetoric and policies coming from Washington and Augusta."

According to the Sun Journal, the event was attended by "seven Democrats who are eyeing the possibility of becoming Maine’s next governor," along with three congressional hopefuls.

Maine GOP Chair Dr. Demi Kouzounas responded to Eves’s statement saying, "This is yet another revelation that Maine Democrats are sadly more focused on the color of people’s skin than the content of their character." Kouzounas added, "Maine people are looking for answers on issues such as jobs, taxes, the state budget, energy costs and welfare reform, and Mark Eves is instead focusing on the color of our residents’ skin and identity politics. Maine voters see through the cynical identity politics of liberal Democrats like Mark Eves."

This is not the first time a Caucasian, Democratic member of the "Pine Tree State" has expressed a self-deprecating view.

Big League Politics reported that in April that a former candidate for the Maine State Senate was caught on video celebrating the rise in suicide among white males.

"You know, today I saw a thing that said a lot of men -- white men -- are committing suicide," Richard Fochtmann said. "And I almost said yeah! Great!"
