Afghanistan
Taliban hit army base, kill 26 troops
[DAWN] The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
launched a pre-dawn attack on an army base in northern Afghanistan on Tuesday, killing 26 members of the security forces, a provincial official said, the latest brazen assault by bandidos holy warriors amid stepped-up efforts to resolve the country's protracted war.

The raid on the base in northern Kunduz province came as representatives of the Taliban were to hold meetings in Moscow with prominent Afghan figures, including former President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai

, opposition le, ders and tribal elders but not Kabul government officials.

The bandidos holy warriors have refused to negotiate with Ghani's government, calling it a US puppet. The Taliban have been staging near-daily attacks, inflicting heavy casualties on the embattled Afghan army and security forces. Both sides in the conflict say they want to strike hard militarily to bolster their position at the negotiating table.

In the Kunduz attack, the Taliban stormed the base, located on the outskirts of the placid provincial capital, Kunduz city, around 2am, said Mohammad Yusouf Ayubi, head of the provincial council. There were at least 23 soldiers and three members of the local police force among those slain.

Israel arrests mother of Givat Assaf, Ofra terrorists
The family that terrorizes together...
[IsraelTimes] Troops detain Suheir Barghouti in West Bank village of Kobar, along with several other members of the family.

The Israeli army on Monday night jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
the mother of two Paleostinian brothers suspected of carrying out a pair of terror attacks within a few days in December, according to numerous Paleostinian media reports.

The reports said troops arrested Suheir Barghouti in Kobar, near Ramallah, as part of operations overnight, along with several other members of the Barghouti family. They said 25 Paleostinians were arrested throughout the West Bank overnight.

The Shin Bet security service confirmed Suheir’s arrest to The Times of Israel, saying she was suspected of failing to prevent a crime.

On Monday the army announced its intention to demolish the homes of Salih and Asem Barghouti.

The two are believed to have conducted a December 9 terrorist attack outside the Ofra settlement, in which seven Israelis were maimed, among them a seven-months pregnant woman, who was seriously maimed. The woman’s baby was delivered in an emergency operation, but died days later.

Salih Barghouti was rubbed out three days later in his hometown of Kobar as he attacked Israeli security forces in an attempt to evade arrest, the army said. A day after that, Asem Barghouti shot up a bus stop outside the Givat Assaf outpost near Ramallah, killing two soldiers stationed there and seriously injuring a third serviceman and a civilian woman, according to the IDF.

Asem Barghouti, who expeditiously departed at a goodly pace after the shooting, was arrested in the home of an alleged accomplice in the nearby village of Abu Shukheidim on January 8.

On January 20, the military notified the family of Asem Barghouti of its plans to destroy his home in Kobar. The family appealed the decision to the High Court of Justice, but the judges upheld the IDF’s plan to demolish the house.

On Monday, the head of the Central Command, Maj. Gen. Nadav Padan, who has authority over the West Bank, signed the official demolition order for the home.

In addition, the IDF on Monday said it informed the Barghouti family of its intention to demolish the apartment where Asem’s late brother Salih lived.

The family was given three days to appeal the decision.

When Israeli security forces arrested Asem Barghouti in January, the Shin Bet said he had been "busy preparing to carry out additional terror attacks."

Since the terror attacks, Israeli troops have arrested and questioned dozens of family members and associates of the Barghouti brothers.

The Barghouti family has an extensive history in the Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, terror group. Asem was set free from an Israeli prison in April 2017 after serving an 11-year sentence.

Jasser Barghouti, Asem and Salih’s uncle, is a convicted terrorist released as part of the 2011 swap that freed kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit. He currently resides in the Gazoo Strip.

Omar Barghouti, Asem and Salih’s father, and Nael Barghouti, another uncle, were convicted for participating in the killing of an Israeli soldier in 1978.

Syrian Army foils ISIS infiltration attempt near Iraqi border city
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) foiled an Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) infiltration attempt along the Iraqi border last night, a field source told al-Masdar News this afternoon.

According to the source, the Islamic State managed to sneak past the Syrian Arab Army’s lines towards the northern district of Albukamal.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
their infiltration would be short-lived as Syrian Arab Army units in the northern outskirts of Albukamal eventually spotted the Islamic State bully boyz and confronted them before they could enter the city.

The source said that the Syrian Arab Army eliminated most of the Islamic State holy warriors, while some managed to flee towards the Euphrates River in order to evade capture.

This attack by the Islamic State comes just 48 hours after they launched a similar attack following the U.S. Coalition’s bombing of the Syrian troops near Albukamal city.

Turkish-backed rebel groups use heavy weapons to attack one another in Afrin
[ALMASDARNEWS] Earlier this afternoon, two Ottoman Turkish-backed rebel groups began to clash inside the Afrin region of the Aleppo Governorate.

According to pro-opposition activists, the festivities broke out between Harakat Nouriddeen al-Zinki and Ahrar Sharqiyah inside the Jandaris District of Afrin.

The reason for the festivities is unknown at the moment; however, local activists are reporting that heavy weapons are being used on both sides.

Ahrar Sharqiyah has been one of the most troublesome rebel groups in the Afrin region, as they have been involved in several prior festivities with local factions.
