Sudanese armed groups fighting in Libya over non-payments by Haftar
[Libya Observer] The Sudanese Center for Freedom of Press said there had been violent festivities between Darfur gangs in Siddada in Libya due to the lack of commitment by Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
to payment.

The center said a force loyal to Haftar supported forces of Sudan Liberation Movement and Minni Minnawi in their assault on Abdelwahid and Justice and Equality forces in eastern Misrata's Siddada town.

"They managed to repel the forces using 20 armed vehicles. They also seized three armored vehicles and three artilleries." The center added.

According to sources, disagreement among the Sudanese movements could increase and become more violent as Haftar did not commit to his financial and military aids to them.

A defected leader at the Justice and Equality Movement Abdullah Eshak said 7 were killed and tens were maimed from Darfur fighters in the festivities near al-Kufra.

Meanwhile,
...back at the comedy club, Boogie sadly admitted that he was a better peeping Tom than he was a comedian...
the center added that a defected leader at the Minni Minnawi movement Abdullah Adam said the Justice and Equality and Sudan Liberation movements were fighting alongside Haftar in the battle for oil terminals but the latter's lack of commitment made them side with his opponents.

"Over 5 were killed and 5 others injured from the leadership of Minnawi movement, not to mention the material and military losses in Um al-Aranib due to the fight between Haftar and Minnawi from one side and Justice and Equality movement from the other." Adam added.

UN experts' report of last September revealed the participation of Sudanese and Chadian rebels in the fighting in the oil crescent in Libya between Haftar and Ibrahim Jadran's forces.

Chad shuts border with Libya
[Libya Observer] Chad announced shutting down its border with Libya on Monday after an armed group's convoy from the southern region entered its territory.

Chadian security minister Mohammed Ali Salah said his country closed the border with Libya until a further notice.

He added that Libya's border with Chad has become a gathering point for gangs, rebels and terrorists and whoever is caught there will be treated one of them, thus announcing disarming Chdains and banning gold digging on border with Libya, according to France 24.

Chad closed its border with Libya in 2017 and after few months it partially reopened it.

Chadian army announced in February capturing 250 terrorists as a convoy of rebels entered its territory coming from Libya, adding that over 40 vehicles were destroyed and hundreds of weapons were seized.

Libya-Chad border and other borders with Niger and Sudan have no security at all and thus allow infiltrations of terrorists and armed groups.

London bombs: Britain's transport hubs told to 'be vigilant' as police probe 'Irish dissident plot'
[The Telegraph] Transport hubs across Britain are told to "be vigilant" as police continue to investigate three packages that may have been sent as part of an Irish dissident plot.

Counter terror police are still investigating after improvised explosive devices were sent to three major London transport hubs on Tuesday.

Whitehall sources said searches were going on to locate any other similar packages that might have been sent but had not yet been identified.

On Tuesday night, Scotland Yard circulated images of two of the packages to sorting offices and transport workers in the capital, telling staff to "be vigilant and report suspicious packages to police".

Sussex Police were also contacted by the Met Police, and in response to the packages, officers carried out precautionary checks, and increased visibility and patrols at Gatwick Airport. This increased

A spokesman told The Telegraph: "No suspicious packages have been reported at Gatwick Airport at this time and the airport is operating as normal."

Scotland Yard said it was working "to ensure the safety of the public and staff working at transport hubs and mail sorting offices", adding: "We have shared images of the exterior packaging of two of the devices to aid staff in identifying a potentially suspicious package."

Europe
Berlin Christmas market attacker accomplice charged with bomb plot
[DW] State prosecutors have charged an Islamist with planning a kaboom in Germany alongside Anis Amri. The plot to "kill as many people as possible," was foiled by police in 2016.

A 31-year-old Russian who knew Berlin Christmas market attacker Anis Amri has been charged with alleged plans to carry out a bombing, German federal prosecutors said on Tuesday.

Magomed-Ali C, whose full name was not disclosed due to German privacy laws, wanted to "kill or at least injure as many people as possible" in a terrorist attack, prosecutors said. He was tossed in the slammer
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
in August pending investigations.

The plan involved Magomed-Ali C and a French national, Clement B,
...that would be the highly connected Clement Baur, arrested in Marseilles amid of an interesting collection of toys...
who was earlier arrested in 2017 in La Belle France for plotting a terrorist attack. The two procured or produced the explosive TATP in a Berlin apartment in October 2016, prosecutors said.

CONTACT WITH CHRISTMAS MARKET ATTACKER
Amri, a Tunisian national who killed 12 people in a December 19, 2016 truck attack on a Berlin Christmas market, was also allegedly in contact with the other two Islamists around this time.

However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
the plans for the bombing were cancelled because the Islamists were alarmed following a police visit at one point to Magomed-Ali C. The terrorist cell later separated.

Prosecutors said Magomed-Ali C. and Clement B. were unaware of Amri's plans. Amri fled after the Christmas market attack to Italia, where he was shot and killed by police.

The charges against Magomed-Ali C come as a parliamentary probe is examining shortcomings in the investigation of the Berlin attack.

The interior ministry has come under fire for the hasty deportation of Tunisian Bilel Ben Ammar, who had dinner with Amri the night before the Christmas market attack and may have been in Nice around the time of the July 14, 2016 truck ramming in the French city that killed 86 people.

Terror probe launched after French prisoner stabs guards
[DW] The French justice minister has alleged the female partner of an Islamist prisoner smuggled in a ceramic knife for a terror attack. Two guards were stabbed. The prisoner's partner was reportedly shot and later died.

A radicalized prisoner allegedly stabbed two guards in La Belle France on Tuesday, in an apparent Islamist attack.

After attacking the officers, he and his female partner barricaded themselves in the family visiting area of the high-security prison at Conde-sur-Sarthe in Normandy for 10 hours.

His partner was shot in the ensuing police raid and died of her injuries, according to unnamed sources close to the case quoted by news agencies AFP and Rooters. The prisoner was maimed and taken into custody once again.

French Justice Minister Nicole Belloubet suggested the 27-year-old prisoner's partner had smuggled in the ceramic knife used in the initial attack.

"There is no doubt as to the terrorist nature of this attack," Belloubet told news hounds.

Stabbed in chest and face
Prison staff representative Alassanne Sall and anti-terrorist prosecutor Remy Heitz both said the suspect had shouted "Allahu Akhbar" (God is Greatest) during his attack.

"It was truly a murder attempt. There was blood everywhere. The family-visiting unit was a battle scene," Sall told AFP news agency.

He said one of the guards suffered a serious chest wound, while the second was slashed on the face and back, he added.

Heitz said the suspect was wearing a fake explosives belt at the time.

Radicalization behind bars
The prisoner was incarcerated on a 30-year sentence and some reports indicate he is thought to have become radicalized while in jail.

The Gay Paree state prosecutor said witness accounts suggested he "wanted to avenge" Cheriff Chekatt, who was rubbed out after an attack on a Strasbourg Christmas market last year.

The prisoner was originally jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
, along with an accomplice, for choking to death an 89-year-old man they had tied up while robbing his home. He was given further jail time for asking fellow inmates to "reenact" the Bataclan attack by "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
" button men.

Salafist ideas have been able to flourish in French prisons, with most terror attackers having already spent time incarcerated, while radicalized inmates have repeatedly attacked guards.
The Times of Israel names him as Michael Chiolo, adding:
He and an accomplice were sentenced on appeal in 2015 for choking to death an 89-year-old non-Jewish survivor of the Nazi death camp Dachau, whom they had tied up while robbing his home.

The Conde-sur-Sarthe prison is one of La Belle France’s most secure jails and does not suffer from overcrowding, unlike other facilities, according to Belloubet.

But despite having been identified as an murderous Moslem, Chiolo was not housed in a secure wing for radicalized inmates which was opened in September, she added.

The Paris state prosecutor said separately that accounts by witnesses suggested Chiolo “wanted to avenge” Cheriff Chekatt, a terrorist who was shot dead by police after killing five people and wounding 11 at a Christmas market in the eastern French city of Strasbourg in December.

Third night of anti-police violence in France's Grenoble
The article doesn’t say, but it seems safe to assume the rioters are the usual Muslim yoots out for a good time, making clear to the dhimmis their place in the universe.
[AlAhram] Rioters in the French city of Grenoble set fire to 65 cars and targetedsecurity forces with fireworks and Molotov cocktails, officials said Tuesday, after a third night of violence sparked by the death of two teenagers during a police chase.

Clashes began on Saturday evening when two men, aged 17 and 19, were spotted by police riding a stolen scooter without a license plate and without helmets.

They were being followed by a police vehicle when they crashed into a bus, according to the local prosecutor's office which is treating their deaths as accidental.

"Young people from the neighbourhood saw what happened and have the feeling that there was a mistake by the police," said Hassen Bouzeghoub, the director of a social club in Grenoble's Mistral area where the men died.

A family member, who did not give his name, claimed "police are responsible for their death" in comments made to an AFP news hound outside the city court on Sunday.

But the Grenoble prosecutor's office has rejected police liability, saying the men had put others in danger by "running red lights, driving on the pavement, and driving at high speeds".

Deaths caused during police operations regularly ignite violent protests in deprived areas of French cities where relations between local communities and security forces are often strained.

The fatal shooting of a man in the western city of Nantes sparked nights of rioting last July. The officer was later charged with manslaughter.

In 2005, three weeks of festivities erupted across the country following the deaths of two black teenagers who were electrocuted in a Gay Paree suburb while hiding from the police.

Police were later cleared of wrong-doing in a trial.

Last week, Grenoble's Mistral district also erupted in violence after a man was tossed in the calaboose

for possession of cannabis.

(JeM) leader Masood Azhar, respectively ‐ have been taken in "preventive detention" for investigation, said officials of the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday.

"In order to implement National Action Plan (NAP), a high-level meeting was held in the Ministry of Interior on March 4, attended by all representatives of all provincial governments," said a statement by the ministry. "These actions will continue, as per the decisions taken in National Security Committee (NSC) while reviewing NAP."

This was also confirmed by Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi and Ministry of Interior Secretary Azam SLearned Elders of Islamn Khan at a presser on Tuesday.

"This is across the board ‐ we don't want to give the impression that we are against one organization," said Khan while talking to the media.

He acknowledged that some people who have been detained ‐ including Raoof and Azhar ‐ are named in the dossier handed by India to Pakistain on the Pulwama attack. "It does not mean that action is being taken against only those individuals who are mentioned in the dossier."

The interior ministry secretary further said: "If we have to take over any [organization's] assets, we will do so. Assets can be taken over of organizations already declared as proscribed, under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

"If we obtain any further evidence or if we have to investigate any organization, the government can take any organization['s leaders] into custody at any time."

The secretary was also questioned by a news hound regarding the status of Jamaat-ud-Dawa

(JuD), which the news hound said is still "on a watch list" according to Indian media and not yet proscribed.

Furthermore, the news hound inquired as to why a notification was issued by the information ministry and not the interior ministry when the government's decision to reinstate the ban on the organization was announced on February 21.

The secretary chalked the delay down to paperwork and confirmed that the ban will take effect within 24 hours and a notification will be issued, this time by the interior ministry.

A few short hours following the presser, the interior ministry released an updated list of 70 organizations declared proscribed by the ministry under Schedule 1 of ATA, 1997.

The operation was put on hold last night and the cordon was strengthened so that the Lions of Islam may not flee from the village under the cover of darkness.

(ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the coming hours, al-Maaloumah News reported, citing a military expert from Baghdad.

The military expert Safaa al-Asam said the new batch of detained Islamic State murderous Moslems will be extradited in the coming hours after an agreement was made with the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Asam said the majority of these captured Islamic State murderous Moslems are Iraqi nationals; they will face trial inside the country.

"As many as 150 Islamic State holy warriors surrendered to the Syrian Democratic Forces within the past few hours," he told the news agency.

He would add that most of these ISIS fighters had entered Syria in 2017 after they suffered a devastating defeat at the city of djinn-infested Mosul

in northwestern Iraq.
Iraqi News adds:
Speaking to Almaalomah news website on Tuesday, Safaa al-A’sam said the new batch of detained Islamic State militants comes within the framework of a previous extradition deal between Iraq and the Syrian forces.

Israeli planes strike Gaza targets after balloon bombs hit Israeli towns
[IsraelTimes] No immediate reports of casualties in Arclight airstrikes on Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede, post in northern Strip, as Egypt attempts to restore calm.

The Israel Air Force carried out airstrikes on several targets in the Gazoo Strip Tuesday night, after balloons with explosives were flown into Israel earlier in the day.

The Israel Defense Forces said its aircraft hit "a number of terror targets in a Hamas military compound in the northern Gazoo Strip."

There were no immediate reports of casualties in the Strip.

The pro-Hamas al-Risala newspaper said an unmanned Israeli aircraft hit a site that belongs to "the Paleostinian resistance" in Gazoo.

The strikes came as an Egyptian delegation visited the Strip in a bid to broker a fresh deal to restore calm to the restive border region, which has seen an uptick in violence in recent days.

Earlier on Tuesday, two bombs tied to balloons were flown over the Gazoo border and went kaboom! inside communities in southern Israel. There were no injuries or damage. On Monday, three bombs went kaboom! near communities and last week an explosive tied to a balloon damaged a home in the region.

Israel has carried out five rounds of strikes in the last four days in response to the balloons.

In an ongoing effort to calm tensions between Israel and Hamas, a senior Egyptian delegation visited both the Jewish state and the Strip this week.
From the Jerusalem Post:
Also on Tuesday, two Paleostinians were maimed by IDF fire after trying to break the Security fence and infiltrate into Israel.

group's last Syrian stronghold Tuesday into territory held by US-backed forces battling to finish off the jihadists' dying "caliphate".

A total of 3,500 people exited the riverside village of Baghouz, including 500 jihadists who had surrendered, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces said.

Five SDF fighters were also freed, their front man Mustafa Bali said on Twitter.

Among them was the widow of French jihadist Jean-Michel Clain, 38, who said her husband had been killed last month after his brother Fabien.

"The drone killed my brother-in-law and then the mortar killed my husband," Dorothee Maquere told AFP.
Sounds painful, which seems fair.
Fabien Clain, 41, had voiced an ISIS audio recording claiming responsibility for the November 2015 attacks in Gay Paree, when ISIS jihadists slaughtered 129 people in coordinated operations.
...Fabien Clain was also known before he kissed a missile as Brother Omar and Abu Adam al-Farans. The Reunion Island native was estimated to be one of the top ranked French jihadis in ISIS — among those not yet killed — along with his brother, Jean-Michel Clain, wounded in the same attack and left to suffer until that morter caught up with him. After recruiting jihadis to fight the Americans in Iraq for the Artigat cell in Tolouse, they emigrated to ISIS in 2015. The Clain boys are accused of planning to send child soldiers to Europe disguised as asylum seekers...
Bali on Monday night said 3,000 more people had been evacuated since Sunday. An SDF official told AFP "hundreds" of ISIS fighters were among them.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based war monitor, earlier said 280 ISIS fighters were among those who quit the pocket since Sunday.

On Monday night, an AFP correspondent near the front line saw black smoke billowing over the besieged pocket after an air strike. The Observatory, which relies on a network of sources inside Syria, said artillery fire and air strikes continued into the night.

The mass outpouring of people from the dying "caliphate" has sparked a major humanitarian emergency, with an aid group saying 600 people arrived early Tuesday in one camp for non-combatants in northeast Syria. Among those who arrived at the camp in al-Hol, 10 people "needed urgent medical treatment because of shrapnel or war injuries," the International Relief Committee said. Six were sent to hospital.

The new arrivals have pushed the camp's population to over 56,000, exacerbating already dire conditions at the crammed facility, the UN's humanitarian coordination office OCHA said on Monday.

Around 90 people, mostly children under the age of five, have died en route or shortly after arriving at al-Hol, OCHA said.
Another Rudaw article adds:
The Rojava Information Center (RIC) reported many of those fleeing Baghouz were Russian women and some were showing symptoms of leishmaniasis, a disease inflicted by the bites of sand flies.
Ick. It’s all fun and games until the sandflies start laying their eggs...
RIC is close to the the ruling Northern Syrian Democratic Federation.

The Peoples' Protection Units (YPG) comprise the bulk of the SDF.
Al Ahram has more about the late, unlamented Jean-Michel Clain, as well as a photo of the gentleman in question:
Clain's wife Dorothee Maquere said he was killed in mortar shelling after being maimed in the coalition dronezap that killed his brother Fabien, who was La Belle France's most wanted Islamist Death Eater.

Fully veiled in black and surrounded by her five children, including a two-week-old baby she was cradling under a red blanket, Maquere said her husband was killed less than two weeks ago.

While Fabien was seen as a senior propagandist among the foreign ranks of IS fighters, his younger brother was mostly known as a singer of the "nasheed" chants heard on some of the videos released by the organization.

Maquere seemed confused and bitter in her new surroundings at the SDF screening centre, where suspected IS members, many of them maimed, were being interrogated. The latest evacuees received basic care, water and blankets.

The widow was seen sitting on a rug with four of her children, a pack of freshly-distributed diapers next to her. She said she did not regret moving from southwestern La Belle France with her family four years ago to the proto-state His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...the head of ISIS, or what remains of it, and a veteran of the Abu Graib jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us. So far he has been killed at least four times, though not yet by a stake through the heart...
proclaimed in 2014.

Maquere described the makeshift camp where the last people left in the IS held portion of Baghouz have been hunkered down.

"Everything happens outdoors, there are no houses anymore, everybody lives outside, which is not surprising because we were being bombarded day and night," she said.
Good.
When asked if she would describe the "caliphate" -- which was once the size of Britannia and administered millions of people -- as a failure, she said: "You could say that."
The wording suggests the lady does not agee.
Maquere said she wanted nothing from La Belle France and did not wish to return there but wanted to remain in Syria.

"I want to continue to live here with my children, to rebuild myself," she said.

"I want to be left alone after everything I've been through... some place where I can live, where I won't be bothered, where I can live my life," she said.

Maquere said she wanted to be allowed to practice her religion freely. "This is what every Moslem wants, nothing more."
The problem, dear lady, is that no one wants you. There is no corner of Syria where you can take over and build a tiny caliphate for your family and friends — this is what defeat means. And you, my dear, have been most thoroughly defeated
She also said she thought Hayat Boumedienne, another prominent French jihadist whose fate remained unclear, was also killed recently in the Baghouz pocket. Boumedienne, 30, was believed to be very active in IS and is also known as the widow of Amedy Coulibaly, who was killed four years ago after carrying out deadly attacks in La Belle France.

Coulibaly took hostages at a Jewish supermarket on the edge of Gay Paree on January 8, 2015, four of whom were killed before elite forces stormed the shop and gunned him down. The Malian-born jihadist claimed his attack, which came a day after two brothers killed 12 people at the offices of satirical publication Charlie Hebdo
...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe...
, in the name of IS.

His wife had travelled to Syria a few days earlier.
More inteviews from Al Ahram:
Asked about the situation inside Baghouz, a Russian woman who came out with her three children responded in broken Arabic: "Fear.'' She said her husband had died earlier.

Another woman in her mid-20s who identified herself as Reem from the central Syrian province of Hama, said she was waiting for her husband to come out of an IS-controlled jail. He has been there for months after killing an IS member in retaliation "for his baby daughter being killed in an airstrike,'' she said.

"I haven't seen him since and don't know where he is,'' Reem said, adding that she asked repeatedly for his whereabouts before she eventually decided to leave.

The evacuees said the bombing was intense over the past days. One woman said she saw a man hit by a missile as she was escaping from one tent to another. Another woman said many are waiting to leave and that the scene is chaotic at the safe passage area.

Syrian Air Force unleashes several airstrikes over northern Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) unleashed a new round of Arclight airstrikes over the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate this evening.

According to a military source in nearby Mhardeh, the Syrian Air Force launched a number of airstrikes over the towns of al-Latamnah and Kafr Zita, targeting Jaish al-Izza’s bases and trenches.

The source said the Syrian Air Force launched these airstrikes in response to the artillery shells that were fired by Jaish al-Izza towards the government’s positions on Tuesday.

Since the end of February, the Syrian Air Force has been intensifying their strikes over northwestern Syria.

This move by the Syrian Air Force comes at the same time that the Syrian Arab Army builds up their troops in both northern Hama and southern Idlib.

Jihadist rebels launch heavy assault on Aleppo city
[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels launched a new attack on the bucolic provincial capital of the Aleppo Governorate this evening.

Led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
, the jihadist rebels launched several artillery shells and missiles from their positions in southwest Aleppo towards the al-Zahra’a Quarter, New Aleppo District, and al-Sabil Neighborhood of the bucolic provincial capital.

According to a military source in Aleppo, the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham attack was unprovoked and caused material damage to several buildings inside the bucolic provincial capital.

The source said the Syrian Arb Army has yet to retaliate to this attack by the jihadist rebels.

Over the last 48 hours, both the Syrian Arab Army and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham have traded attacks in Aleppo, causing damage to much of the area around the bucolic provincial capital.
