Pakistani Taliban Commander Killed In Ghazni As War Intensifies

[ToloNews] Local officials in central Ghazni province said that fresh waves of violence have been gripping various regions of the province over the past 24 hours following intense battles between the Afghan forces and the Taliban outfits in the area.

They said that the Afghan Special Forces have dealt a major blow the Taliban fighters in Asfandah village in the suburb of the city where a key Taliban commander originally from Pakistan was also eliminated during the battles with the Afghan forces.

Afghan forces said that they had discovered the Pakistani identity card from the pocket of the Taliban commander.

“We did not transfer other dead bodies, we only transferred the dead body of this Pakistani officer and you can take footage of him that the Pakistani officers also take part in these operations,” said Mohammad Naser Alizai, Deputy Commander of Afghan Commando Forces.

Violence has dramatically increased in Ghazni province over the past two months with the foreign militants fighting shoulder to shoulder with the Taliban in the key province.

According to local officials, up to 40 security force members and 30 civilians so far have been killed during the violence.

“Overall, 500 operations, including clearance operations and aerial operations by the coalition and Afghan forces were carried out since the month of Hamal (March),” said Arif Noori, spokesman to Ghazni governor.

Despite these reports, roads in many areas of the province remained close to traffic, including a short closure of Kabul-Kandahar Highway in recent days, where the Taliban installed checkpoints and searched passengers.

Back in August 2018, the Taliban insurgents backed by the foreign militants launched a coordinated attack on Ghazni city from four directions and seized some parts of the city for several days.

Migrants force entry in Spain's Melilla exclave
[DW] Fifty-two migrants colonists have forced their way into Spain's North African exclave from Morocco by scaling the border fence. The territory has become a regular flashpoint for African migrants colonists in recent years.
Set headline F-17, Fred.
The migrants colonists tried to storm the barbed wire fence at dawn, but Spanish and Moroccan security forces prevented "around half" from entering Melilla.

Four Spanish border coppers and one migrant were maimed in the incident.

The others were taken to a temporary migrant accommodation center where they were given new clothes.

EU TERRITORY IN AFRICA
Spain has two exclaves on the north coast of Africa: Ceuta, located at the Strait of Gibraltar; and Melilla, 250 kilometers (155 miles) further east on the Mediterranean coast.

Near these two territories, tens of thousands of migrants from African countries are waiting for a chance to enter the EU's only land borders with Africa.

Melilla and Ceuta are often used as entry points into Europe for African migrants, who either climb over their border fences or try to swim along the coast.

Spain became the leading entry point to Europe last year, with some 60,000 migrants arriving irregularly, almost all of them by crossing the Mediterranean in small boats.

(IS) killed 11 Nigerian soldiers in an attack on the northeastern town of Gajiganna, the group claimed through its news agency AMAQ on Saturday.

The Jihadist organization said the attack on the soldiers took place in the town in northeastern Borno state on Friday. It published pictures of burned barracks and dead bodies it claimed belonged to the soldiers.

Three sources, including one hospital source, confirmed the attack. They said the gunnies stormed the town on a cycle of violence at roughly 6:30 p.m. (1730 GMT) and opened fire on residents and the military in sporadic shootings.

The fighters fled after the military called in air force support and reinforcements from a battalion in a neighboring town.

Gunmen kill six during Catholic mass in Burkina Faso
[IsraelTimes] Dozens of attackers said to open fire on worshipers, set fire to shops and cafe, and loot medical center, before fleeing.

Gunmen killed a priest and five churchgoers during mass Sunday in an attack on a Catholic church in Dablo, northern Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
, security sources and a local official said.

"Towards 9 a.m., during mass, armed individuals burst into the Catholic church," the mayor of Dablo, Ousmane Zongo, told AFP. "They started firing as the congregation tried to flee."

The attackers ‐ between 20 and 30 according to a security source ‐ managed to trap some of the worshipers, Zongo added. "They killed five of them. The priest, who was celebrating mass, was also killed, bringing the number of dead to six."

The button men then set fire to the church, several shops, and a small cafe, before heading to the local health center, which they looted, burning the chief nurse’s vehicle.

"There is an atmosphere of panic in the town," said Zongo.

"People are holed up in their homes. Nothing is going on. The shops and stores are closed. It’s practically a ghost town," he added.

Security reinforcements were sent from Barsalogho, about 45 kilometers (30 miles) south of Dablo, and were combing the area, a security source told AFP.

The attack came two days after French special forces freed four foreign hostages in the north of the country in an overnight raid that cost the lives of two soldiers. The operation was ordered to free kidnapped Frenchies Patrick Picque and Laurent Lassimouillas who disappeared while on holiday in the remote Pendjari National Park in Benin on May 1. The team also found two other female captives, an American woman and a South Korean.

Sunday’s church strike came two weeks after a similar attack against a Protestant church in Silgadji, also in the north, when button men on cycle of violences killed a pastor and several worshipers.

Burkina Faso has suffered from increasingly frequent and deadly attacks attributed to a number of jihadist groups, including the Ansarul Islam group, the Group to Support Islam and Moslems (GSIM) and Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. Once the dust had settled and the smell of gunsmoke had dissipated, they became the Islamic State in Mali, then adopted their present clever name. They are headed by Adnan Abu Walid Saharaoui. It operates along the borders of Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali....
Nearly 400 people have been killed since 2015 ‐ mainly in hit-and-run raids ‐ according to an AFP tally. Jihadist groups target both Moslem and Christian holy mans, mainly in the north.

Former colonial ruler La Belle France has deployed some 4,500 troops in Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad in a mission code-named Barkhane to help local forces try to flush out jihadist groups.

Merkel pledged millions in financial support for the restive Sahel region

shortly after meeting with Burkina Faso's President Roch Marc Christian Kabore in the capital, Ouagadougou.

Germany will give an additional €20 million to Burkina Faso and over €35 million to Niger ($22.4 million and $39 million, respectively) to support development projects as well as the outfitting and training of coppers in each country, she said.

"We talked about the deteriorating security situation and we want to be on the side of Burkina Faso, especially in terms of cooperation on security," Merkel told news hounds after a meeting with Kabore.

"This is necessary because in the east and north of the country there is a situation where children cannot go to school, where populations seem to live in insecurity. We need to end these problems as quickly as possible."

Arabia
Saudi Arabia says 2 oil tankers damaged by sabotage attacks
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) ‐ Saudi Arabia said Monday two of its oil tankers were sabotaged off the coast of the United Arab Emirates in attacks that caused "significant damage" to the vessels, one of them as it was en route to pick up Saudi oil to take to the United States

The announcement by the kingdom’s energy minister, Khalid al-Falih, came as the U.S. issued a new warning to sailors and the UAE’s regional allies condemned the reported sabotage Sunday of four ships off the coast of the port city of Fujairah.

The statement came just hours after Iranian and Lebanese media outlets aired false reports of explosions at the city’s port. Emirati officials have declined to elaborate on the nature of the sabotage or say who might have been responsible.

However, the reports come as the U.S. has warned ships that "Iran or its proxies" could be targeting maritime traffic in the region, and as America is deploying an aircraft carrier and B-52 bombers to the Persian Gulf to counter alleged threats from Tehran.

Shortly after the Saudi announcement, Iran’s Foreign Ministry called for further clarification about what exactly happened with the Saudi tankers. The ministry’ spokesman, Abbas Mousavi, was quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying there should be more information about the incident.

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
's security forces killed eight alleged snuffies in a shootout in the predominantly Shia region of Qatif, a government statement issued late Saturday said.

The interior ministry said security forces launched a raid against a suspected Death Eater hideout on the island of Tarot off the coast of the kingdom's eastern province, a restive region on the Persian Gulf where most of the country's oil reserves are located.

The statement described the group as a "terrorist cell" and accused them of planning to attack vital installations and security targets.

The interior ministry said security forces only opened fire after they were shot at. It did not identify the hard boyz and said an investigation was ongoing.

Videos posted on social media by residents of Tarot showed black smoke rising from residential buildings and the sound of heavy gunfire on Saturday.

Saudi security forces frequently target and clash with Shia button men in the region of Qatif, which saw large protests by the minority community in 2011 demanding greater rights and equal treatment from the kingdom's Sunni rulers.

The kingdom has since targeted many of those protest leaders, including its most iconic figure, Sheikh Nimr al Nimr, who was accused of national security crimes and executed in early 2016.

The Shia holy man's execution sparked protests by Shias in Iraq, Pakistain and Iran, and led to the ransacking of the Saudi Embassy in Tehran, which has remained shuttered ever since.

Tensions have likely spiked in recent weeks after Saudi Arabia beheaded 37 men, most of them Shiites, in a mass execution on April 23.

The UN's human rights
One man's rights are another man's existential threat.
chief called the mass execution, which included three sentenced as minors, "shocking" and "abhorrent."

The rights group Amnesia Amnesty International said 11 of the men were convicted of terrorism-related crimes after a "grossly unfair trial."

At least 14 others executed were convicted of violent offences related to their participation in anti-government demonstrations in Shia-populated areas of Saudi Arabia between 2011 and 2012.

UAE reports rare 'acts of sabotage' against 4 boats off its coast
[DAWN] The United Arab Emirates said on Sunday four merchant vessels had been targeted by "acts of sabotage" in Gulf waters off its coast.

"Four commercial, civilian trading vessels of various nationalities this morning suffered acts of sabotage" off the UAE's eastern coast, its foreign ministry said in a statement.

It did not name who was responsible, but warned that "carrying out acts of sabotage on commercial and civilian vessels and threatening the safety and lives of those on board is a serious development".

Nobody was harmed during the incident, the ministry said.

It called on world powers to help keep maritime traffic safe.

Bangladesh rescues 23 Rohingya girls from traffickers
[DAWN] Twenty-three teenage Rohingya girls were rescued after being brought from refugee camps to the capital Dhaka to be sent to Malaysia by air, Bangladesh police said on Sunday.

four human traffickers including a Rohingya couple and recovered over 50 Bangladeshi passports from them on Saturday.

Police front man Mokhlesur Rahman said they raided a residence in the northern part of the city and found the teenagers hiding in a room behind a tailoring shop.

"They were promised jobs in Malaysia and brought from refugee camps in Cox's Bazar," he told AFP, referring to the Rohingya settlements in Bangladesh's southeastern coastal district.

The girls ‐ aged between 15 and 19 ‐ could have been potential victims of forced prostitution, the official said.

"We have filed cases against the four arrested persons and sent the girls back to their camps in Cox's Bazar," Rahman said.

Abul Khair, local police chief of Ukhiya, where Kutupalong, the largest refugee camp in the world, is situated, said he received the girls and would send them to their homes in the camps.

FBI Discovers Homegrown Islamic Terror Compound In Alabama
[DAILYCALLER] The FBI has uncovered a homegrown, jihadist compound in the small Alabama town of Macon County.

The FBI’s search warrant described the property as a "makeshift military-style obstacle course" in a story first reported by Sinclair Broadcast Group. The land where the group gathered reportedly looked like an "abandoned dump," and was led by Siraj Wahhaj,
...also known as Siraj Ibn Wahhaj and Sirraj Ibn Wahhaj. Siraj [Jr.] is the son of Siraj Wahhaj [Sr.], a Brooklyn imam whose mother welcomed him into the world as Jeffrey Kearse. Siraj Sr. was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and a character witness in the trial of convicted terror plotter Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman (“the blind sheikh”), and is connected to the several branches of the Moslem Brotherhood in America. He currently mentors pussy hat leader Linda Sarsour....
who allegedly trained children to commit school shootings in a similar terrorist breeding ground in New Mexico last year.

Wahhaj and four other alleged Islamic Lions of Islam were indicted on terrorism, kidnapping, and firearm violation charges earlier this year.

In an interview with Sinclair Broadcast Group, former FBI agent Tim Fuhrman warned of the increasing threats of domestic terror that "exists in every region of the United States and affects all walks of life."

"Just because you’re in a small town or a small state does not mean you might not potentially have individuals engaged in the types of activities that would call into question threats to national security," Fuhrman said.

The FBI is currently involved in 850 domestic terrorism investigations, Assistant Director for Counterterrorism Michael McGarrity said earlier this week while speaking to the House Homeland Security Committee, according to CNN.

"The FBI assesses domestic turbans collectively pose a persistent and evolving threat of violence and economic harm to the United States," McGarrity said.

Man arrested at Charlotte airport for lying about contacts with terrorist organizations
From May 2nd, but we missed the story then.
[CNN] A man was tossed in the calaboose
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
after arriving in North Carolina Tuesday for lying about his contacts with terrorist organizations.

Waqar ul-Hassan, 35, was returning from Pakistain and had gotten off a flight at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport Tuesday night when he was arrested on two counts of making false statements in 2015 interviews involving terrorism, according to an FBI criminal complaint.

According to the complaint, the FBI began an investigation into Hassan in 2014 because the organization had information that he was communicating with people involved in terrorist organizations.

Hassan was interviewed by FBI agents and told them in some of those interviews that he did not support any terrorist or bully boy group and did not know anyone who was a member of one, according to the complaint.

In later interviews, he confessed to having lied, the complaint says, and admitted to "extensive contacts" with a recruiter about jihad.

Hassan also admitted to traveling and staying with forces of Evil for two or three days in 2014 and to giving up to $500 to and collecting food and money for a terror organization. The FBI complaint identified the group as Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
(JeM), an organization the US considers a terrorist group.
Maulana Masood Azhar has been known to enjoy tea partying with the Taliban and Al Qaeda, as well as Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP)and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ).
After initial denials, Hassan signed a statement acknowledging he also attempted to send money to ISIS "[b]ecause [he] was angry about what was happening to Moslems around the world," but said he ultimately did not because he didn't have a way to get it there, the federal complaint says.

It is unclear why he was not detained in 2015.
Who was president in 2015? Think a bit — it will come to you, dear CNN journalist. It’s good to see the FBI is clearing old cases in the midst of the current brouhaha.
Hassan came to the United States from Pakistain in 1999 and is a naturalized US citizen who maintained his Pak citizenship. In 2016, he left for Pakistain and did not return to the US until Tuesday.

Latest Sri Lanka arrest throws spotlight on Wahhabism in eastern hotbed
KATTANKUDY, Sri Lanka (Reuters) - Sri Lankan authorities have arrested a Saudi-educated scholar for what they claim are links with Zahran Hashim, the suspected ringleader of the Easter Sunday bombings, throwing a spotlight on the rising influence of Salafi-Wahhabi Islam on the island’s Muslims.

Mohamed Aliyar, 60, is the founder of the Centre for Islamic Guidance, which boasts a mosque, a religious school and a library in Zahran’s hometown of Kattankudy, a Muslim-dominated city on Sri Lanka’s eastern shores.

“Information has been revealed that the suspect arrested had a close relationship with ... Zahran and had been operating financial transactions,” said a police statement late on Friday.

The statement said Aliyar was “involved” with training in the southern town of Hambantota for the group of suicide bombers who attacked hotels and churches on Easter, killing over 250 people.

A police spokesman declined to provide details on the accusations.

Of course funded and helped by the Saudis and others. Together they try to destabilize societal structures, infiltrate govt. organs and media, dissuade and demoralize conventional liberal democracy.

It is their theory that it 'exposes' the frailty of western/oriental society and culture, and then they can replace it with their shit.

To render it helpless, local govt.s will need to cruelly make examples of its proponents. This catch and release, legalistic approach is just counterproductive. You need to go full Duterte on them.

5 people killed in Gwadar PC hotel attack; army concludes clearance operation
[DAWN] At least five people bit the dust in a terror attack targeting the Pearl Continental in Gwadar yesterday, the army's media wing said in a statement on Sunday, as it announced the conclusion of its clearance operation of the hotel.

Four hotel employees ─ three staffers and a security guard ─ were killed and a navy soldier was martyred, while six people ─ including two army captains, two navy soldiers, and two hotel employees ─ were maimed as button men stormed the luxury hotel.

The attack was claimed by the banned Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
Liberation Army, and a clearance operation at the hotel continued until late at night.

The army on Sunday afternoon announced that security forces had completed the operation at the hotel, killed three forces of Evil and retained their bodies for identification.

The ISPR, in a blurb, also provided a blow-by-blow of the attack and the ensuing operation, saying that three forces of Evil had entered the hotel with the intent of targeting hotel guests or taking them hostage.

The assault began between 4:30-5pm. The attackers wore uniforms resembling those worn by members of the security forces and were equipped with modern weapons, official sources told Dawn.

The ISPR said that the security guard at the entrance, Zahoor, attempted to deny the forces of Evil entry into the main hall, but was killed.

"The forces of Evil went to the staircase leading to the upper floors," the ISPR said. "Enroute to the stairs, the forces of Evil kept firing indiscriminately, resulting in the martyrdom of three more hotel employees, Farhad, Bilawal and Awais, while two got injured," the ISPR said.

The army's media wing said that the Quick Response Forces of the army, navy and police immediately reached the hotel, secured the guests and staff present there, and restricted the forces of Evil to a fourth floor corridor.

"After ensuring safe evacuation of guests and staff, a clearance operation was launched to take on the terrorists," the statement said. During this time, "the forces of Evil had made CCTV cameras dysfunctional and planted improvised bombs on all entry points leading to fourth floor," the statement said.

"Security forces made special entry points to get onto the fourth floor, shot down all forces of Evil and cleared planted IEDs," the ISPR said.

Pakistain Navy soldier Abbas Khan was martyred in an exchange of fire, while four other army and navy captains were maimed.

In the aftermath of Gwadar attack, the Balochistan government tightened security across the province. Chief Minister Jam Kamal chaired a high-level meeting today to review security arrangements in Gwadar and other parts of the province.

The army's media wing thanked the media for its responsible reportage during the operation, which "denied the forces of Evil of possible live updates" and "facilitated the security forces in smooth execution of the operation".

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
2 East Jerusalem men charged with planning Tel Aviv beach shooting for Hamas
[IsraelTimes] Indictments say pair met in prison, planned to carry out attack; upon their release, they contacted operative, who suggested they kill Jerusalem mayor, police chief or MK.

Two East Jerusalem residents were charged on Sunday for allegedly planning to carry out a shooting attack in Tel Aviv on behalf of the Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, terror group.

According to the indictments filed at the Jerusalem District Court, 23-year-old Adam Muslemani and 27-year-old Mahmoud Abed al-Latif befriended each other in 2017, while serving time at Nafha Prison in the Negev for security-related offenses.

The two planned to carry out a shooting in Hamas’s name at a beach in Tel Aviv following their release from prison, the charge sheets said. The pair ruled out an attack in Jerusalem, citing the high number of attacks in the capital and its heavy police presence, which made the coastal metropolis a better target.

Following their release in February 2019, Muslemani and Abdel Latif traveled to Istanbul to meet with a Hamas operative, who allegedly suggested they instead target a public figure. The indictment said the Hamas member named former Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat, ex-police chief Roni Alsheich, and Temple Mount activist and then-Likud MK Yehudah Glick as possible victims.

In 2014, Glick was shot four times by a Paleostinian terrorist in a failed liquidation attempt in Jerusalem.

The Hamas member later gave them funds to carry out the attack and a pair of pants stitched with hidden messages from Hamas, according to the indictment.

A third East Jerusalem man, 32-year-old Issa Bin Nazem Natsheh, was also indicted for contacting the Hamas operative in Istanbul and for using money he received from him.

Prosecutors requested that all three remain in jug ‐ where they have been since their arrests in March ‐ until the end of legal proceedings against them.

Gazan carrying knife arrested after crossing border into Israel

a man who crossed the border fence from the Gazoo Strip and entered Israeli territory, the army said.

The Paleostinian man was apprehended shortly after breaching the fence and was found to be carrying a knife, according to the military.

There were no injuries reported in the incident and the suspect was detained for investigation by security forces, the IDF said.

Israel reopened its main crossings with the Gazoo Strip on Sunday as part of a reported ceasefire agreement, after a weekend that saw low-level festivities along the border but no major outbreaks of violence.

Erez, in northern Gazoo, is the main terminal for civilian traffic while Kerem Shalom in the south of the Strip mainly serves commercial goods. The crossings were closed when violence broke out last week and remained shuttered for the Memorial Day and Independence Day holidays on May 7-9.

Three IS militants nabbed in Mindanao
[CNN] Philippine authorities said three ISIS militants were nabbed in Parañaque City and Rizal province. The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said it arrested Narodin Abolkhair Manalinding and Cairo Gen Manatao Abolkhair in Parañaque on Friday morning for illegal possession of firearms and explosives.

Officials sad Manalinding and Abolkhair are from Marawi City, which was besieged by terrorists almost two years ago. Manalinding is said to be a financier and recruiter for ISIS-Daulah Islamiyah Ranao.

Police also arrested another ISIS militant identified as Tagoranao Dimaro Sarip Jr. in Cainta, Rizal just hours after the arrest of Manalinding and Abolkhair. Sarip, who is allegedly the propaganda and member of ISIS’ media cell, was arrested following a search authorized by a Laguna judge.

Authorities confiscated from him a hand grenade, an unregistered pistol and ammunition, and an ISIS flag.

Last month, police arrested two Abu Sayyaf militants in Quezon City and Muntinlupa. The latter was working as a security guard for an office building.

Sri Lanka town under curfew after anti-Muslim attacks, Saudi-trained “scholar” arrested
[DAWN] Sri Lankan troops in a northern town fired shots into the air and police imposed a curfew on Sunday after mobs attacked a mosque, in renewed religious tensions in the wake of the Easter terror attacks.

Police front man Ruwan Gunasekera said that the mobs in Chilaw, 80 kilometres north of the capital Colombo, also attacked Moslem-owned businesses.

The violence erupted like lava from a volcano in Chilaw, a Catholic-majority town, after a resident misunderstood a Facebook post as a threat against Christians.

"I used to always run into him at the center, reading Saudi journals and literature," said one of the sources.

Russian Air Force bombs jihadist forces near Turkish military post
[MOBILE.ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian Air Force unleashed a new round of Arclight airstrikes over the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate this evening, targeting the positions of the jihadist and Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels.

According to a military source in Hama city, the Russian Air Force heavily bombarded the holy warriors in the Sheir Magher area, causing a number of kabooms that could be heard across the northwestern countryside of the governorate.

The source said the Russian airstrikes hit the krazed killer positions near the Ottoman Turkish Army’s observation post along the Hama-Idlib axis.

He would add that while the Russian airstrikes were conducted near the Ottoman Turkish observation post, they did not actually hit their military positions.

Tonight’s airstrikes come just hours after the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) almost hit the same Ottoman Turkish military post in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

Syrian Army’s first major push to capture key mountaintop town ends in disaster
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) suffered heavy casualties in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate, today, after they attempted to capture the key mountaintop town of Kabani near the Idlib border.

Led by the 42nd Brigade (Ghiath Forces) of the 4th Armored Division, the Syrian Arab Army began the assault by firing a large number of missiles towards the jihadist positions in Kabani.

Following the missile strikes, the Syrian Arab Army made their first major push to capture Kabani from the jihadist rebels of the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
.

However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
per a military source in Latakia, the Syrian Army suffered heavy losses during the attack, which forced them to fall back to the southern slope of the Zuwayqat Mountain.

The source said the total number of casualties is still unknown at the moment, but put the estimate between 20-25 killed or maimed.

Kabani is located on the highest mountain in the Latakia Governorate; this has made it incredibly difficult for the Syrian Army and their allies to capture.

Due to its proximity to the Idlib Governorate and strategic city of Jisr al-Shughour, Kabani is considered a top priority for the Syrian military in the Latakia Governorate.

#1  only a few miles from the Turkish border

it is really a small village about 2600 feet above sea level, rugged terrain, probably lots of caves too

Militants kill 6 civilians in new attack on Christian city in northwest Hama
[ALMASDARNEWS] At least a half dozen non-combatants were killed in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate on Sunday, a source in the area told al-Masdar News.

According to the source, the non-combatants were killed when the murderous Moslems fired several artillery shells and missiles towards the Christian city of Sqaylabiyeh near the Idlib Governorate border.

Among the six civilians killed on Sunday were five children and one woman. Several others were badly maimed as a result of this indiscriminate attack on Suqaylabiyeh.

Typically, when the murderous Moslems assault either Sqaylabiyeh or Mhardeh, two Christian cities in Hama, the Russian Air Force responds by launching Arclight airstrikes against the murderous Moslems responsible for the attack.

Sqaylabiyeh is home to one of Syria’s largest National Defense Forces (NDF) factions and the famous "ISIS Hunters" unit. The city also has one of the largest Christian (predominately Antiochian Orthodox) populations inside Syria.

Syrian Army attacks Turkish observation post area near Idlib border
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched several retaliatory shells towards the Ottoman Turkish observation post area north of Qal’at al-Madiq on Sunday.

According to a military source in northwestern Hama, the Syrian Army fires several artillery shells north of Qal’at al-Madiq after holy warriors from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
and the Ottoman Turkish-backed National Liberation Front

attacked the historical town earlier in the day.

The source said their artillery shells did not hit the actual Ottoman Turkish observation post, as they know the location of this military site.

Opposition activists accused the Syrian Army of killing one civilian during this attack on the Idlib Governorate border.

In relevant news, the Ottoman Turkish Army sent a large convoy of reinforcements to southern Idlib on Sunday to prevent the Syrian military from further advancing into the bully boy pocket in northwestern Syria.
