Sudanese protesters, military council say talks ‘fruitful’
[DAWN] Organisers of the protests that drove Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
from power and the ruling military council said talks on Saturday on forming a transitional government were "transparent" and "fruitful."

Both sides announced they would set up a joint committee comprised of members of both the military council and the Forces for the Declaration of Freedom and Change, a coalition of opposition groups led by the Sudanese Professionals Association, to tackle political disputes.

Saturday’s meeting came after the protesters agreed on Wednesday to resume talks with the military after a temporary break. The military also announced then the resignation of three members of the military council, whom the opposition had accused of being too close to al-Bashir.

But the Sudanese Communist Party, which is part of the protest movement, called late Friday for a fourth member of the council, deputy head Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo commonly known by his nickname Hemedti to step down.

Saudi royal adviser in Khashoggi trial no-show
[DAWN] Two top Saudi royal advisers have been linked to journalist Jamal Khashoggi's murder. One has been labeled the "ringleader" but questions are swirling over the absence of the other in the closed-door trial of 11 suspects, multiple sources told AFP.
"Journalist" as in "taking Mooslim Broderbund and Qatari dictation"
Saudi prosecutors have said deputy intelligence chief Ahmed al-Assiri oversaw the Washington Post columnist's killing in the kingdom's Istanbul consulate last October and that he was advised by the royal court's media czar Saud al-Qahtani.

Both aides were part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

"Qahtani is not among the 11 facing trial," one of the officials told AFP.

"What does his absence mean? Are the Saudis keen to protect him or discipline him separately? No one knows."

The kingdom's public prosecutor last November indicted 11 unnamed suspects, including five who could face the death penalty
over the murder.

Pope Francis donates $500,000 to help migrants in Mexico
[IsraelTimes] Pope Francis donates $500,000 to help migrants colonists in Mexico, offering assistance to local projects that provide food, lodging and basic necessities.

The funds, from the Peter’s Pence collections, will be distributed among 27 projects promoted by 16 Mexican dioceses and religious congregations, Peter’s Pence said in a statement.

In recent months, thousands of migrants colonists have arrived in Mexico, traveling on foot or with makeshift vehicles from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. But they have been blocked at the border with the United States.

In particular, the aid is intended to assist the more than 75,000 people who arrived in Mexico in 2018, in six migrant caravans.

"All these people were stranded, unable to enter the United States, without a home or livelihood," the statement says.

They have homes and they can still go back to their homes. But as long as you keep providing them with food and shelter, why should they?

#3  They have to make a livelihood where they are. This "pope" is looking dodgier by the minute, the old pope is still alive...

What really happened?

#4  The "No Hope Pope". The failure of his mission (or his lack of one) is why Latin countries have failed their populations. So like the typical leftist he throws a few pieces of silver at the problem.

#5  I'd like to thank the pope for easily demonstrating how much 'free people' cost.

I am guessing that this money is not out of his own wallet. Think about that for a second, all the effort and money it took to free up $500k - I'd guess that it took $1.5 million to make the $500k. That is for just one day of 75k 'free people'.

Never mind the wear and tear on the infrastructure, damage from criminal activities, landfill and sanitation concerns, so forth. Oh, and the sweet, sweet graft of only half of it actually being used as intended. I know, optimistic.

#6  There is poverty and hardship all over the world (though, thanks to economic reforms, MUCH less than there used to be, particularly in India and China). Why are these people more deserving of the Pope's money than those in, say, Sudan or Eritrea?

#7  And on that point, wouldn't $500k go further in Guatamala than LA?

Here the pope is encouraging poverty - and we all know there is flesh trade going on here too.

Mexico 'Concerned' by Delays at U.S. Border Crossing Points
[AnNahar] Mexico expressed fresh concern to the United States Friday about delays in the movement of goods and people across their border, after becoming Washington's biggest trade partner for the first time earlier this year.
ICE/CBP are too busy with your caravans of invaders. Maybe you oughta take a look at your own policies
The diplomatic note from the foreign ministry is the latest sign of tension between the north American neighbors since President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
last month threatened to close the border if Mexico didn't stop illegal immigrants colonists from reaching the US.

"During the month of April there has been an economic impact to Mexican and American companies caused by the delays in customs," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The situation on the border "negatively impacts trade as well as the sources of employment and consumers in both countries," it said.

According to the Foreign Ministry, in the first two months of the year Mexico was "for the first time in history" the main trading partner of the United States, with goods worth $97 billion changing hands.

Data from the Ministry of Finance shows that from January to November 2018, bilateral trade was worth $527 billion.

Some 80 percent of Mexico's exports are to the United States.

In March Washington ordered the re-assignment of 2,000 customs officers to support the border patrol in the processing of a wave of migrants colonists seeking to enter US territory. The stepped-up surveillance has sparked delays in processing the passage of goods and people.

Tens of thousands of Central Americans have traversed Mexico in so-called "caravans" in the hope of reaching the United States.

Trump says the migrants colonists are a threat to US national security and has demanded that Mexico detain them and send them home. He has also threatened to close the border if Mexico doesn't act.

Russian Student Who Tried to Go to Syria Freed Early
[AnNahar] Russia on Saturday released a former student convicted for trying to enter Syria in a high profile 2016 case after she was granted parole this month.

Varvara Karaulova was freed from prison in Vologda, a city around 450 kilometres northeast of Moscow, the RIA Novosti news agency reported. She was released a year and 10 months early.

A military court sentenced Karaulova to four and a half years in prison in 2016 for trying to enter Syria after falling in love with an Islamic State

jihadist. She was detained a year earlier after she tried to cross into Syria from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
while still a philosophy undergraduate at the renowned Moscow State University.

This month a court ruled she posed no threat to society and should be released earlier.

Karaulova's case shocked Russia in 2016, as the then 21-year-old wept in court and said her attempt to cross in Syria was "all a mistake". It was also widely covered by state media.

Karaulova was charged with preparing to participate in a terrorist organization, but pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
, saying she was motivated by love for a Russian jihadist fighting in Syria.

She met him online while still a teenager and they wrote to each other for three years without meeting. In 2014, he went to Syria and told her he was fighting for IS. Karaulova converted to Islam and began warning a hijab. She disappeared without warning in May 2015, prompting a frantic search by her parents. They found that she had flown to Turkey and travelled to the border with other women hoping to join men fighting for IS. Ottoman Turkish border guards detained the group and she was forced to fly back to Russia with her father.

Thousands of people from the former USSR have travelled to Syria to fight with Islamists, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
, since Moscow intervened on the side of the Damascus regime in 2015.

Karaulova's case was particularly unusual in Russia since her family is not Moslem.
We’ve seen plenty of that kind of nonsense in Western Europe and England — the groomers do not focus only on Muslim girls.

Story behind an unsuccessful assassination bid
[DAWN] Security agencies and police have unearthed new startling evidence that sheds light on the hours-long shootout in one of the city’s posh areas resulting in the death of five murderous Moslems and martyrdom of two law enforcers, Dawn was informed.

The mounting evidence, police and security officials say, belie claims by some individuals with "vested agenda" that the 17-hour-long shootout with murderous Moslems holed up in a house, was staged. The house was located at a narrow street and the shootout on April 17 was witnessed by neighbours.

"Those casting doubts and aspersion on our credibility have vested agenda. They wouldn’t explain how an assistant sub inspector of the counterterrorism department lost his life, or how, a soldier was killed. They wouldn’t explain why, if the murderous Moslems indeed were innocent, the TTP owned them, or why they did not surrender, despite several attempts made through public sound system," a security bigshot said.

reportedly attempted to cross into Iraq from neighboring Syria this month.

Speaking to Russia Today, an Iraqi intelligence officer said that the Iraqi armed forces managed to block the terrorist leader’s entry into Iraq from Syria, forcing him to return to the vast desert region of the Homs Governorate.

"Al-Baghdadi has been trying to enter Iraq for weeks, but he could not due to the strict security measures applied on the Iraqi-Syrian border," the officer told Russia Today on condition of anonymity, as cited by Iraqi News.

He claimed that Baghdadi is currently hiding in Jabal Abu Rajmin with some of his supporters near the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra.

Prior to this claim by an Iraqi intelligence officer, the Russian intelligence officers claimed that the whereabouts of the Islamic State were unknown at this time.
