They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... militias back to the negotiating table.
Gargash’s statement comes on Sunday when he tweeted after finishing his briefing of members of the international diplomatic corps based in Abu Dhabi on the Arab Coalition operations to liberate the Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... port city of Hodeida from Houthi control.
"This operation is intentionally calibrated to help UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths in his difficult task to persuade the Houthis to unconditionally withdraw from Hodeida," Gargash said.
"We are at a turning point, because as long as the Houthis hold Hodeida, they will continue to impede the political process. We firmly believe that the liberation of Hodeida will pull the Houthis back to the negotiating table," he added.
The people of Hodeida, Gargash said, do not want to be governed by the Iranian-backed "religious Lion of Islams" adding that "they want to be free. The people of Hodeida and the coalition are intent on liberating the city because it will shorten the war".
"The Coalition has demonstrated an extraordinary amount of restraint in conducting its operations. We will continue to focus on our two main goals: to protect the flow of humanitarian aid and to protect civilians," he concluded.

Griffiths proposed that the Houthis to cede control of Hodeidah’s Red Sea port to a UN-supervised committee to avoid further fighting with advancing government troops.
According to the sources, which are close to Houthi command, the militia’s commanders on the front lines in Hodeidah are in disagreement over whether to take the opportunity and accept the offer amid their severe losses in the city, or to keep fighting as some of them believe that "if Hodeidah is out of their control, whether by peace or war, it will be their end."
These disagreements have revealed differing stances by the Houthis. A previous statement done by Houthi front man, Mohammed Abdelsalam, stated that Griffiths’ trip to Sanaa failed and that the militia has not accepted his offer. However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... Griffiths said that he received positive signals from Houthi commanders before his trip signaling that they were ready to negotiate.
Houthi commanders who insist on not surrendering Hodeidah are aware that their military resources will not be able to defeat the incoming government forces. The sources, however, said that these commanders are banking on external forces to help them, and on pressuring the international community by continuing to block humanitarian aid.
"The side that insists on fighting in Hodeidah knows that if they give it up, their cards will all have been dealt, and they will not have any advantages during negotiations," the source added.
He said that Griffiths is insisting on meeting Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi, to discuss all of the options available to avoid further battles. The source added that Griffiths believe that the solution is in the hands of the Houthis and the Iranians.

If the creature croaked she would surely be deafened... the Arab Coalition conducted Arclight airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah airport on Sunday, as coalition-backed ground troops attempted to seize control from Houthi fighters inside, according to Saudi and Houthi media.
Coalition warplanes carried out five airstrikes on Hodeidah, including attacks on the airport, the Houthis’ official SABA news agency said.

"The security forces are being directed to take all necessary actions as earlier to prevent snuffies from launching attacks and indulging in violence."
Singh's office said in a separate statement on Twitter that the Indian government had decided "not to extend the suspension of operations."
The Indian minister also stated that the suspension had been ordered "in the interests of the peace-loving people" of Kashmire "to provide them a conductive atmosphere to observe Ramadan."
On Thursday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a cabinet meeting to discuss whether to extend the initiative.

Pakistain Taliban chief Mullah Fazlullah, 44, was killed with five other bully boyz when missiles slammed into the car they were driving, hours before Afghanistan’s Taliban began a three-day cease fire.
Fazlullah, who was famous for his nickname "Mullah Radio" for the abundance of broadcasted violent hard boy speeches on Voice of Valley radio in Pakistain, is known for extremism and imposing of Sharia by force there.
In 2014, he ordered an attack that killed 132 students at an army-run school in Pakistain’s Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire. Malala was 15 years old when Fazlullah ordered her liquidation when she was on a bus and was stopped by Talibs and called by her name, then with a gun directed to her face she was hit by three bullets, shattering her forehead. She stayed in a coma for a week before being trnsfered to the UK for intense treatment and rehabilitation.
Three days following this brutal attack, 50 Moslemholy mans in Pakistain issued a fatwa (religious edict) denouncing the actions of those who ordered her killing due to her school education, while the Taliban continued to threaten her father for putting his daughter in school.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Earlier this week, a high ranking Syrian Kurdish leader stated that he hopes Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad One of the last of the old-fashioned hereditary iron-fisted fascist dictators... is serious about negotiating with the Kurdish-led forces in order to reach an agreement between the two parties.
Speaking to the Rooters News Agency, Aldar Xelil of the Co-President of the Executive Body of the Movement for a Democratic Society stated that any agreement with Damascus would be a "historic turning point" for the two sides.
Xelil continued that his political party is ready for negotiations without any preconditions.
"We don’t know the extent of their seriousness or preparation for this, but we hope these statements reflect serious intentions," Xelil told Rooters in a telephone.
Recently, Damascus sent a delegation to the northeastern city of al-Qamishli; this group reportedly met with several officials from the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC).
During the meeting, the SDC expressed interest in sending a delegation to Damascus for the first time in years.
While the Syrian government and Kurdish political parties attempt to reconcile, they have managed to joint govern some areas in the northern part of the country, along with sharing the imperative Hasakah-Aleppo Highway.

Makes sense. Allows Assad to militarily concentrate on the southern and western/coastal part of his country where the most serious problems are, and allows him to wash his hands of defending against from the genocidal Turks and their wannabee Sultan Erdogan in the northern parts, where the Kurds and not much else are.
Erdogan is a menace that must be stopped.

[PRESSTV] Artifacts from the ancient Jobar synagogue in Damascus' Eastern Ghouta suburb have been smuggled out of Syria and surfaced elsewhere, including in Israel, activists say.
Local activists said the artifacts had been put into safety back in 2013 to avoid theft and damage by Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... terrorists, but Syrian officials discovered later that some of the items had disappeared.
The first missing cache, which contained torahs, tapestries and chandeliers, was given to the Faylaq al-Rahman murderous Moslem group by Jobar's local council for safe keeping earlier this year, according to the activists.
However, there's more than one way to skin a cat... the murderous Moslem outfit later said that it was not in possession of the objects taken from the Jobar synagogue, also known as Eliyahu Hanaviuntil synagogue.
The second cache, the activists said, had been stolen in 2014 by a Syrian guardian entrusted by the local council to hide the items from the synagogue.
Hassan al-Dimashqi, who lived near the synagogue until March, said, "Some of the items that went missing in 2014 and this year have started surfacing now in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire.... He also quoted some local officials as saying that the man, who stole the second cache, reached Europe ...also known as Moslem Lebensraum... and the artifacts he had taken ended up in Israel.
Dimashqi further said that some of the items entrusted with the Faylaq al-Rahman murderous Moslems, including carpets, chandeliers and historical scripts, have surfaced in Turkey. The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also confirmed the information.
In March, Syria filed an official complaint with the UN, accusing Israel of stealing valuable artifacts from the Jobar synagogue in cooperation with Turkey and terrorist groups.
