150 World Leaders to Paris Climate Change Talks-what a sweet, sweet target
[FoxNews] Paris and the surrounding area will essentially be locked down for the 12-day summit. And climate-change activists have reportedly agreed to cancel a march Sunday, after an appeal from French leaders.
Here's hoping absolutely nothing happens, either inside or outside the venue.

Taliban bought 12yo boy for $100, only to train a suicide bomber
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Saturday unveiled a shocking new story regarding a child trained as jacket wallah by Taliban group after he was sold by his parents for AFN 7,000, equivalent to around $100.

The 12-year-old child recently handed over himself to the Afghan police after managing to escape from training center where was receiving suicide kaboom trainings along with a group of other children.

According to a statement by MoI, the child is originally a resident of Qaisar district who has told police that his family sold him to Taliban for AFN 7,000 only.

The child whose name has not been disclosed apparently due to security reasons has also told police that he was kept together with six other children who were also purchased from their family.

The statement by MoI further added that the children were being trained by Taliban capo Mullah Qayum in Ghormach district of western Badghis province.

The Talibs wanted to use the children to target the Afghan cops and other government officials in Qaisar district of Faryab province, MoI said.

The child also told police that he was opposing with the Taliban request to carry out suicide attack and used the opportunity to surrender to police in Charshanbe Bazar area of Qaisar district.

The Talibs group has not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as the Afghan cops last week tossed in the calaboose
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
an 11-year-old child in Kunduz province who was trained by the Talibs since he was only 5 for a suicide attack mission.

According to the local security officials, the child, Rohullah, was kidnapped by the Talibs when he was only 5-year-old and since then he was trained on how to carry out suicide attack.

Rohullah was arrested by the security forces from an area close to a security check post in the 1st police district of Kunduz city.

Egypt discovers iron tunnel network under Gaza border
[Ynet] Massive network of 'extremely expensive' tunnels with 40cm-thick iron walls discovered on Egyptian side of the border, which Cairo claims was built by Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, and funded by Qatar.

Egyptian border guards discovered a first of its kind underground tunnel network made of iron under the country's border with Gazoo on Friday, according to Egyptian security officials.

The tunnel was discovered at a depth of 10 meters near the northern part of the Rafah crossing, which connects the Gazoo Strip to the Sinai Peninsula.

Egyptian forces destroyed the tunnel using vast quantities of explosives.

The Egyptian officials said the tunnels were discovered when water that had been pumped from the ocean to flood the tunnels on the border, as the Egyptians have been doing in recent weeks, failed to seep into the ground. Security officials realized that something must have been blocking the water from being absorbed, and thus discovered the network of tunnels.

Egyptian engineering forces promptly began excavations in the area and discovered an iron tunnel at a depth of 10 meters. A quick examination of the tunnel revealed that its walls were made of 40cm-thick iron.

The Egyptian officials said that building such a tunnel would be an extremely expensive endeavor.

It was later discovered that the tunnel reached 200 meters into Egyptian territory and was presumably still under construction. The tunnel streched 70 meters into Paleostinian territory as well.

According to Egyptian intelligence, the advanced tunnel network includes some 17 iron tunnels from Gazoo, which are meant to service Hamas and other gangs in their fight against the Egyptian flooding operations against the tunnels.

Egyptian news portal al-Masrawi reported that Egyptian officials believe Hamas was behind the construction of the tunnels, using considerable funding come from Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
Hamas has previously voiced its disdain for the flooding campaign, saying that the operation further tightens the blockade against the Gazoo Strip, while the Rafah border crossing does not open consistently.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
has previously slammed his bitter rival Egyptian president Fattah Abdel al-Sissi over the anti-tunnels operations.

The Egyptian president, for his part, clarified in recent meetings with officials from the Paleostinian Authority that the measures taken by the army are meant to secure the border between Egypt and Gazoo, for the sake of Egyptian national security. According to him, the steps cannot hurt "our Paleostinian brothers in Gazoo."

Pictures from the border area posted to social media in recent days already show cracks beginning to form in the ground due to the massive amounts of sea water being pumped into the ground.

Dr. Yuval Arbel, a groundwater expert from Friends of the Earth Israel, told Ynet that "It's hard to accurately assess what's going on from the pictures, but it is clear that if they are flooding the tunnels on such a massive scale, it will cause depressions and cracks in the ground, and may even lead to ground collapses and damage resources.

#3  WTF? Forty centimeters of iron? 400mm? Almost a half meter? How much of the tunnel had that armor? That's twice the thickness of the Panzer VIII Maus's front armor.

That's a lot of iron to bury.

And if the Paleostain's don't like the condition of the ground, they can stop tunneling through it.

Arabia
We are ready for Sanaa battle: resistance leader

The national resistance in Sanaa governorate is prepared to begin the battle for the liberation of the Yemeni capital and end the Iranian-backed coup, the Sanaa resistance leader was reported on Sunday as saying.

Mansour Al Hanq said most of the Sanaa residents do not support the Houthis and their allies and that the citizens are subject to repression and terrorisation by the rebels.

“The combat preparations by the resistance in Sanaa are completed and we are ready for the battle to liberate Sanaa,” he told the Saudi daily 'Asharq Al Awsat'.

“I believe that most tribes in Sanaa will join the battle against the rebels and this will make the liberation of the city easier. We are all resolved to liberate Sanaa and end the rebel’s presence in the city in coordination with the Saudi-led Arab coalition.”

He said the Sanaa resistance is coordinating with the national army and the resistance in other areas through a joint military command.

He noted that most of the resistance men are well-trained fighters and that they defeated the Houthis in many areas in Sanaa governorate before some of the Army units seceded and backed the rebels.

“We are now working together rapidly to launch the Zero Hour, which will be decided by the military leaders. Most tribes in Sanaa are also awaiting the Zero Hour to attack these terrorists and save their country.”

Saudi strikes on Yemeni civilians condemned by Human Rights Watch
[FRANCE24] At least ten air strikes carried out by a Saudi-led coalition in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
broke the laws of war and killed civilians, Human Rights Watch
... During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, HRW received a pledge from the Foundation to Promote Open Society, of which George Soros is Chairman, for general support totaling $100,000,000. The grant is being paid in installments of $10,000,000 over ten years.Through June 30, 2013, HRW had received $30,000,000 towards the fulfillment of the pledge....
alleged Friday.

The strikes are listed in a major new report by the watchdog, which estimates that 2,500 Yemeni civilians have died in coalition strikes since March.

Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, the UAE and other Arab allies -- with logistical support from the United States -- are battling Houthis on behalf of the Yemen government.

Riyadh has furiously denied previous reports of indiscriminate bombing, but Friday's detailed report cites a wealth of witness testimony.

The strikes in the report killed at least 309 civilians, maimed at least 414 and were in breach of the allies' obligation to investigate alleged war crimes.

"Human Rights Watch found either no evident military target or that the attack failed to distinguish civilians from military objectives," the report said.

"Human Rights Watch is unaware of any investigations by Saudi Arabia or other coalition members in these or other reported cases."

'Witness testimonies'
"We have data about documented strikes, and witness testimonies. If the Arab coalition doesn't hit civilians, then how do they explain the corpse count?", Ahmed Benchemsi, Communications Director at the Middle East division of Human Rights Watch, told FRANCE 24.

The 10 suspect attacks took place in Huthi-controlled Sanaa, Amran, Hajja, Hodeida and Ibb and hit residential houses, market places, a factory, and a civilian prison.

Washington has given strong diplomatic backing to the Saudi offensive and earlier this months approved a $1.29 billion sale of bombs to renew its ally's arsenal.

Britannia and La Belle France are also major arms suppliers to Saudi Arabia and its Emirati ally.

Human Rights Watch urged the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
Security Council to investigate its allegations and to remind the warring parties of their legal responsibilities.

ATTACKS ON BLOGGERS, PUBLISHERS : No clue, no arrest after a month
[Bangla New Age] The police have made no headway in the investigation of the murder of secular blogger and publisher, Faisal Arefin Dipan, and attacks on another publisher and two bloggers on the same day, a month into the incident.

Families of the victim said they were frustrated with the sluggish pace of the investigation. They said the police had stopped contacting the families since long.

On October 31, unknown assailants killed secular blogger and publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan, who ran Jagriti Prakashany, at his office at Aziz Super Market at Shahbagh.

Three hours before the incident, another publisher, Ahmedur Rashid Chowd hury Tutul of 'Suddhaswar', and two other secular bloggers, Tareq Rahim and Sudeep Bhattacharya, widely known as Ranadipam Basu, were hacked at Suddhaswar office in Lalmatia.

The Sherlocks said they suspect murderous Moslem groups for carrying out the attacks but neither have the motives for the attacks been established nor have the perpetrators been identified.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch is investigating the cases after two separate cases were filed with Shahbagh and Mohammadpur cop shoppes.

When asked about progress in the investigation, DMP joint commissioner [DB] Monirul Islam said, 'we suspect the involvement of murderous Moslem groups in the incidents, but the actual motive of the attacks have not been determined'.

'We could not arrest anyone and no one has been identified', he said.

Monirul said investigations were ongoing looking at 'relevant matters' into the incidents.

He said the close circuit camera footage at Aziz Supermarket could not help the Sherlocks as no one could be identified from the footage.

There was no CCTV camera at Suddhaswar office at Lalmatia, he said.

The slain publisher Faisal's father, Abul Quasem Fazlul Huq, expressed frustration at the slow progress in the investigation.

'What are they [Sherlocks] doing...? Ask them...They did not even contact me since after the burial of Faisal', said Abul Quasem, also professor of Bangla at Dhaka University.

The injured, Ahmedur and Sudeep, who were undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, have been released.

Tareque Rahim is still at the hospital, but his condition is stable, doctors said.

Expressing frustration, Sudeep's brother, Pallab Bhattacharya, told New Age that he did not expect to know from police about the progress into the investigation.

'They [police] have failed to investigate each and every attack on bloggers in the past. We don't think they can arrest the perpetrators in this case'.

With the latest attacks, at least five secular bloggers have been killed and four injured in 2015 in similar attacks since the killing of blogger Avijit Roy on Dhaka University campus on February 26.

Tutul and Dipan were both close to slain writer-blogger Avijit Roy and had published his books.

BOGRA SHIA MOSQUE : 3 remanded, RAB detains 3 others
[Bangla New Age] A Bogra court on Saturday remanded three suspects in police custody for interrogation, while the Rapid Action Battalion detained three more suspects in connection with a gun attack that killed a muezzin and injured three others during prayers inside a Shia mosque at Shibganj in Bogra.

Senior judicial magistrate Shyam Sundar Roy passed the order after police produced local Emdadul Ulum Qoumi Madrassah principal Maulana Shamsul Alam, 60, Anwar Hossain, 48, of Majhihatta and madrassah student Jewel Miah, 25, of Haripur of the upazila before the court on Saturday afternoon. Shamsul Alam was remanded in jug for five days while Anwar Hossain and Jewel Miah for seven days.

Three unknown assailants stormed into the mosque and fled jumping over the boundary wall after shooting at people who were saying Maghrib prayers on November 26. The attack claimed the life of the muezzin, Moazzem Hossain, 70, and injured the imam, Shahinur Islam, and two others -- Abu Taher and Aftab Ali.

Shibganj police detained Anwar Hossain and Jewel Miah on early Friday while Bogra Detective Branch of police detained Shamsul Alam on Friday night, said Shibganj police inspector (investigation) Kamruzzaman Miah, also the investigation officer of the case. Rapid Action Battalion-12 in Bogra detained three more suspects -- Minhaz, 18, Shahinur, 21, and Rayhan Miah, 28, of the upazila -- on Friday night in connection with the attack.

RAB-12 squad commander senior assistant superintendent of police Mafizul Islam said that the three were being interrogated.

Bogra additional superintendent of police Arifur Rahman Mondal said there was no further development in the investigation. 'We will interrogate the three in jug and try to extract clue to the attack from them,' he said.

The injured imam, Shahinur, shot in the waist, would undergo a surgery to remove the bullet after a week, said Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital vice-principal Rezaul Alam Jewel, also orthopaedic department physician. He said that bullet was removed from Taher's upper leg and he was recovering. Aftab's condition was better and he left the hospital on Friday.

Earlier, two people were killed and scores were maimed as three improvised bombs were detonated at Hussaini Dalan, the Shia headquarters in Bangladesh, in Dhaka on October 24.
Not a single encounter by either the RAB or police, one notices sadly. The interrogations must be productive.

Europe
Police, migrants clash on Macedonia border
[Bangla New Age] Police in Macedonia fired tear gas and stun grenades at desperate migrants stranded for days at the Greek border and who are demanding passage to western Europe, as soldiers began erecting a metal fence to keep them out.

Macedonia, along with other Balkan countries on the migrant route, began turning away economic migrants nearly two weeks ago. Human rights groups have criticised the decision, under which only Syrians, Iraqis and Afghans are allowed through.

The new restrictions triggered days of protests from Iranians, Paks, Moroccans and others, stranded in squalid tent camps on the border. Some Iranians have sewn their lips shut. One man on Saturday threw himself on railway lines before the police, screaming and flailing.

Saturday's violence broke out after one migrant, believed to be a Moroccan, was electrocuted and badly burned when he climbed on top of a train wagon.

An angry crowd surged towards lines of Macedonian police and began throwing stones, a Rooters photographer at the scene said.

The police responded with tear gas and stun grenades, driving the crowd back, a Rooters photographer at the scene said. Some officers threw stones.

In a surge that began about 18 months ago, migrants have been flowing across Balkan borders, having landed by boat in Greece from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
Human rights groups say international conventions require countries to treat asylum requests on merit, not on the basis of nationality.

Earlier on Saturday, Macedonian soldiers began driving metal poles around 3 metres high into the cold, muddy ground, building a barrier similar to that erected by Hungary on its southern border.

European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
member Hungary in September and October sealed its southern border to migrants, calling them a threat to the security, prosperity and Christian values of Europe.

But the Macedonian government said it had no intention of sealing its border completely. A government front man said the aim of the fence was to direct the inflow of people towards the controlled points for their registration and humane treatment.

We would like to underline that the border will remain open, said front man Aleksandar Gjorgjiev. We will allow passage for the people who come from war-affected regions as we have done thus far.

Macedonia, Serbia and Croatia say they began filtering the migrants after Slovenia, further along the route, announced it would start doing the same.

The number of migrants making the journey to Europe rose dramatically this year compared to 2014, although the influx shows signs of decreasing as winter approaches.

Germany expects roughly 1 million refugees and migrants to arrive this year alone.

Arms for Paris Attacks 'Bought from Germany': Report
[ALMANAR.LB] Four assault rifles used in the deadly Gay Paree attacks were allegedly purchased from a trafficker in Germany, newspaper Bild reported Friday, as prosecutors said they were still probing a possible link.

Quoting documents from the Stuttgart prosecutor's office, the newspaper said two AK47s and two Zastava M70s were sold on November 7 by the arms dealer to a customer in Gay Paree.

"French Sherlocks believe that the weapons were allegedly used in the attacks in Gay Paree," said Bild.

A front man for the Stuttgart prosecutor's office confirmed the arrest of an arms dealer but said he could not confirm or deny a connection with the Gay Paree attacks.

"We are still investigating," he said.

According to Bild, German police on Monday tossed in the clink
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
a 34-year-old man named Sascha W. from the southern city of Magstadt on suspicion of the illegal weapons trade.

The suspect is accused of having hawked the weapons on the Darknet -- a hidden network used for both legal and illicit ends -- using the name "DW Guns".

Four emails on his smart phone show that he sold "four Kalashnikovs assault rifles to an Arab in Gay Paree", added the newspaper.

During a raid at the suspect's house, police also found 16 other firearms, Bild said.

The prosecutor's office said the man was aged 24 and arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of converting starter guns into deadly weapons and selling them on the Darknet.

"He is believed to have built the parts for this himself," the front man said, adding that only pistols had been found.

Nearly 1,000 Denied Entry to France Since Paris Attacks
[ALMANAR.LB] Nearly 1,000 people thought to pose security risks have been denied entry into La Belle France since stepped-up border controls were imposed ahead of the COP21 climate talks on November 13, just hours before the Gay Paree attacks, the interior minister said Saturday.

They were prevented from entering La Belle France "because of the risk these people could represent for public order and security in our country," Bernard Cazeneuve said during a visit to the northeastern city of Strasbourg.

He said nearly 15,000 police, gendarmes and customs agents have been deployed to the borders.

The aim of the boosted controls is to enable the authorities to reinforce security as the COP21 climate talks officially get under way in Gay Paree on Monday and also to confront the high terrorist threat level facing the country, Cazeneuve said, adding that they would make any necessary arrests.

A few hours after the tougher border controls ahead of the climate talks took effect on November 13, bully boyz carried a series of attacks at several sites in Gay Paree, killing 130 people.

The French government, which has declared a state of emergency, said it would continue the increased border security as long as the terrorist threat remains high.

Erdogan Saddened by Downing of Russian Jet
Not as sad as he's gonna be...
[ALMANAR.LB] Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
on Saturday expressed "sadness" over The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's downing of a Russian warplane that has severely strained relations, saying he wished the incident had never happened.

In his most conciliatory comments yet after Tuesday's incident, Erdogan said: "I'm really saddened by the incident. We wish it had never happened, but it happened. I hope something like this doesn't happen again.

"We hope that the issue between us and Russia does not escalate any further, become corrosive and have dire consequences in the future," Erdogan told supporters in western Balikesir province.

Erdogan also renewed a call to Russian President Vladimir Putin
...Second and fourth President and sixth of the Russian Federation and the first to remain sober. Putin is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from polonium poisoning. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to Putin. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead...
for a face-to-face meeting in Gay Paree on the sidelines of the Global Climate Summit on Monday, saying it would be an opportunity to restore relations.

"What we tell Russia is 'Let's resolve this issue between ourselves and within its boundaries. Let's not make others happy by destroying our whole relationship," Erdogan said.

"Russia is important for Turkey as much as Turkey is important for Russia. Both countries cannot afford to give up on each other."

Putin, who has branded the incident a "stab in the back", is yet to agree to talks.

The plane incident, one of the most serious festivities between a NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
member and Russia, has drawn a harsh response from Moscow.

Russia announced it was halting a visa-free regime for Turkish visitors, after threatening a raft of retaliatory economic measures to punish the NATO member state.

Obama Says 'Enough Is Enough' after Latest US Shooting
[ALMANAR.LB] US President Barack Obama
The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person...
denounced America's epidemic of gun violence Saturday after yet another deadly shooting, saying "enough is enough."

"We have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough," Obama said in a statement, revealing that the shooter in Colorado Springs who killed three people and maimed nine Friday had used a military-style assault rifle.

Iraq
World's Tallest Towers Planned for ---Basra, Iraq?
AMBS Architects has proposed a 1,152-metre-tall skyscraper for Iraq's Basra Province, which would surpass Jeddah's Kingdom Tower and Dubai's Burj Khalifa to become the tallest building in the world. Basra is located in the south of Iraq, and is a rapidly growing business center.

The firm described its skyscraper as "the first vertical city in the world", saying it will not only be the tallest structure but will break new ground in engineering and vertical transportation.

It is designed to house offices, hotels, residential areas, commercial centers, parks and gardens, and even its own rail network across the 1,550,908 square meters of floor space.

"In contrast to a conventional tower, the towers will be a place that may be enjoyed by all, not only for the ones that live and work there, but also the rest of the public," the firm said in a statement.
The mid boggles. In Iraq?
The development is planned to be a net-zero structure – meaning it would produce as much energy as it consumes. No start date for construction has been set.
Several nifty renderings at the site. The article was linked in my civil engineer's newsletter.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Turkey fights Kurds who fight ISIS
[ARA News] ISTANBUL – Although Turkey agreed to join the U.S.-led coalition against the radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) in the region, the Turkish army has focused most of its strikes on positions of the Kurdish rebels of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), ignoring military actions against ISIS targets.

Kurdish activists argue that Turkey has hit few ISIS targets to justify its alleged “anti-terror” efforts and shifted its military operations towards bombing Kurdish positions. Others went on saying that Turkey has facilitated ISIS-led attacks on Kurdish civilians in Suruc last July and Ankara last month.

“We are determined to continue the anti-terrorism operations inside and outside the country,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said after his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) won the early elections begin of November. “No break; we will keep on.”

#1  Turkey is actively helping ISIS advance in Syria

Islamist Turkey has sided with the Caliphate. Turkey is the enemy within.

For those that missed it, here is Australian journalist Ruth Pollard on the scene with an eyewitness account of how Turkish troops armed with tanks and artillery turned their backs as ISIS took Kobane and instead fired water canons at kurds and journalists gathered on a hill overlooking the Syrian town.

Turkish forces had the firepower to fight ISIS and they turned their backs. Literally.
