Afghanistan
Sayaf warns escalation of Afghanistan war to the world
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Abdul Rab Rasool Sayyaf
...Afghan Salafist warlord, owned by Saudi Arabia. He was the guy who invited al-Qaeda to come into Afghanistan and make themselves at home...
who was one of the prominent leaders of Mujahideen during the invasion of Soviet Union and an influential political leader has warned that war in Afghanistan would escalate to rest of the world if its does not end immediately.

While talking to a gathering commemorating the second death anniversary of Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim on Tuesday, Sayaf said no one would be able to control terrorism if Afghanistan changed into the nest of the phenomenon.

"No one would have a relaxed sleep from East to West," Sayaf added.

Sayaf said if Taliban and others are fighting for Islam or the country then they should understand that this neither benefits Islam nor the country.

He once again called on all warring parties to come and live like ordinary Afghans in community.

Sayaf also offered to stand in lines with security forces when asked.

"But if national honors are in danger, we would go to defend without permission," he said.

In another part of his speech, Sayaf urged Pakistain for honest neighborhood saying that if you [Pakistain] are a good friend then you should treat "our wounds".

Bangladesh
Jamaat calls hartal for Wednesday
[Dhaka Tribune] Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
has called a countrywide hartal
... a peculiarly Bangla combination of a general strike and a riot, used by both major political groups in lieu of actual governance ...
for Wednesday, protesting the Supreme Court verdict that upheld death penalty for their party leader Mir Quasem Ali
...Jamaat-e-Islamic Central Committee member and Saudi money man in Bangla. Currently waiting to be hanged....
The party announced the hartal on its website after the verdict was delivered on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court upheld the war tribunal’s death sentence awarded to Mir Quasem Ali for committing crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
ambulances, body carrying freezing vans and vehicles of hospitals and fire services will be out of the hartal purview.

The party alleged that the government has been killing their leaders one after another in a planned way as part of conspiracy.

It also said Mir Quasem was deprived of justice in the verdict.

"Mir Quasem will file review petition. We hope he will get aquittal if justice is ensured," the party said in a statement.

Daleem Hotel survivors still haunted by torture
[Dhaka Tribune] Survivors of Daleem Hotel, used by Mir Quasem Ali
...Jamaat-e-Islamic Central Committee member and Saudi money man in Bangla. Currently waiting to be hanged....
as a torture cell during 1971 Liberation War, yesterday hailed the Supreme Court verdict of upholding death sentence for the war criminal, saying it cleansed Chittagong of a stigma.

During the war, the local al-Badr forces grabbed the Mohamaya Bhaban from a Hindu family in the city’s Andarkilla, renamed it Daleem Hotel and set up a torture cell.

Describing Daleem Hotel as a death factory, the International Crimes Tribunal said pro-liberation people were tortured and killed there under the leadership of the notorious Mir Quasem.

Syed Md Emran, a prosecution witness and a group commander of Liberation Force freedom fighters, narrated how he endured 16 days of torture at Daleem Hotel.

"I was a first-year graduate student when I joined the Liberation War. In the early hours of November 30, Mir Quasem and his men besieged my house and detained me along with my elder brother. Ten to twelve more freedom fighters were picked up from different parts of the city.

"We were taken to Daleem Hotel where we were tortured brutally. During confinement, I was mostly kept blindfolded and my arms and legs were tied. I was hit with sticks and electric wire for information about freedom fighters. Quasem, who controlled the torture camp, interrogated me himself," said Emran, who along with some 150 other detainees were rescued by freedom fighters from the torture cell.

Another survivor, freedom fighter Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, said: "I was caught from Andarkilla area on November 30 and was taken to Daleem Hotel. The captives in the makeshift torture cell were tortured brutally for information about the whereabouts of freedom fighters.

"We were given electric shocks, hung upside down and beaten with iron rods. They also pressed burning cigarette butts against our bodies to extract information."

Jahangir Chowdhury, who was the deputy chief of Joy Bangla Bahini, said: "Mir Quasem’s son tried to convince me so that I do not testify against the war criminal. However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
I told him that I will testify against Quasem despite all odds. Now I am over the moon with the verdict.

"I was held captive and tortured for 26 days. Cruel forms of tortures were inflicted on us. We were kept in crammed rooms and there was no toilet for us. If the captives asked for drinking water, they were given urine instead."

Another survivor, Chittagong Independent University’s acting vice-chancellor Prof Dr Irshad Kamal Khan said: "The captives were blindfolded and their arms and legs were tied. We were served meal once a day. I cannot say for sure how many days I was held captive in the camp. We used to hear groans and screams coming from different rooms of the torture cell at different times of the day."

Apart from Daleem Hotel, the port city had other makeshift torture cells in Nandan Kanon’s Islamia Hotel, Panchlaish’s Salma Manjil, Chamrar Gudam’s Dost Mohammad Building, and Dewanhat’s Dewan Hotel, according to Liberation War researcher Dr Mahfizur Rahman.

China-Japan-Koreas
North Korea's Kim says country has miniaturised nuclear warhead
If you compare it to him in time-lapse it did get smaller
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the country has miniaturised nuclear warheads to be mounted on ballistic missiles and ordered improvements in the power and precision of its arsenal, its state media reported on Wednesday.

Kim has called for his military to be prepared to mount pre-emptive attacks against the United States and South Korea and stand ready to use nuclear weapons, stepping up belligerent rhetoric after coming under new U.N. and bilateral sanctions.

U.S. and South Korean troops began large-scale military drills this week, which the North calls "nuclear war moves" and threatened to respond with an all-out offensive.

Kim's comments released on Wednesday were his first direct mention of the claim, previously made repeatedly in state media, to have successfully miniaturised a nuclear warhead to be mounted on a ballistic missile, which is widely questioned.

"The nuclear warheads have been standardised to be fit for ballistic missiles by miniaturising them," KCNA quoted him as saying as he inspected the work of nuclear workers, adding "this can be called true nuclear deterrent."

Home Front: WoT
In a first, White House to release data on drone strikes
The White House for the first time will release casualty figures from its controversial drone program, officials said on Monday, amid criticism that the Arclight airstrikes often kill civilians instead of the intended terror targets.

Lisa Monaco, President Barack Obama
Because I won...
's top homeland security adviser, said the administration will publish a review of its air strikes on terror targets worldwide outside of active war zones, disclosing casualty figures for both fighters and civilians.

The planned report comes after a 2013 pledge by Obama to provide more transparency in its drone program that has become a keystone in America's counter-terrorism efforts, amid criticism that the program is too opaque and frequently kills innocent civilians.

"In the coming weeks, the administration will publicly release an assessment of combatant and non-combatant casualties resulting from strikes taken outside areas of active hostilities since 2009," Monaco said in remarks made during a speech at a Washington think tank.

The report will be published annually, she said.

A seemingly ever-expanding global war against bully boy groups means the United States relies heavily on drones to monitor hostile lands and launch missiles at suspected snuffies in countries such as Pakistain, Somalia and Yemen.

Obama has drastically expanded the drone program during his tenure, but his administration provides scant information on strikes.

India-Pakistan
Lal Masjid cleric gets pre-arrest bail in two cases
[DAWN] A local court of Rawalpindi on Monday confirmed the pre arrest bail to Lal Masjid
...literally the Red Mosque, located in Islamabad and frequented by all sorts of high govt officials. The proprietors, Ghazi Abdul Rasheed and Maulana Abdul Aziz Ghazi, unleashed their Islamic storm troopers on the city, shutting down whorehouses and beating people up who weren't devout enough. The Musharraf govt put an end to the nonsense by besieging the place. Abdul Aziz Ghazi was nabbed while he was trying to escape dressed up like a girl. BBC reported that the corpse count at 173, but other claims, usually hysterical, say there were up to 1000 titzup. Among their number was Abdul Rashid Ghazi. Everyone then said tut-tut and what a nice guy he had been...
holy man Maulana Abdul Aziz
...nutball holy man who runs the Lal Masjid in the heart of Pakistain's capital. After instigating a rebellion against the state in 2007, he was caught trying to sneak away dressed in a burka. He rejects democracy as un-Islamic, which it probably is...
in two cases, extending threats to the civil society and prompting incitement.

Both the cases were registered against him in October 2014.

The court also rejected identical applications filed by the representatives of civil society seeking registration of FIR against the holy man.

The complainant counsel argued before the court that the holy man had sympathy for Daesh [Islamic State], besides inciting the people against the army.

He requested the court to direct the police to register a case against Maulana Aziz under relevant sections of Protection of Pakistain Act (PoPA).

Tariq Asad, counsel for the holy man on the other hand informed the court that his client had neither shown allegiance nor praised Daesh [Islamic State].

He said the government in July 2015 has added Daesh [Islamic State] to the list of proscribed organization and it was not an offence if someone has praised the Daesh [Islamic State] before the government officially banned it.

He says the liberal forces have targeted family system of Islam through the women protection law but he vows to thwart the move.

He says the law lacks backing of any religious force as not a single religious party has approved of it. To combine their forces against the law, he says, leadership of all religious parties is going to meet at Mansoora on March 15 to discuss various options of holding protest.

Cleric comes out in support of women’s protection bill
[DAWN] As critics from religious groups and parties make headlines with their opposition to the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Protection of Women against Violence Act 2016, one holy man has come forward to support the law instead.

Pakistain Ulema Council (PUC) chairperson Hafiz Mohammad Tahir Ashrafi on Monday said those elements that used to call for banning girls’ education had no connection to Islam.

"These people are speaking in ignorance, but the women protection bill will assist in ending violence against women," Mr Ashrafi said. "There is no point in the criticism by some scholars that this bill will distort the family system of the country".

While speaking to a delegate of the PUC Women’s Wing and women seminary students on Monday, the liberal holy man said that instead of criticising almost all the reformist laws, Learned Elders of Islam and the country’s religious leadership should come forward with progressive suggestions.

"I would call upon the clergy to play a responsible role for girls’ education, to help eradicate other social ills like dowry and so on from the country," he said.

Mr Ashrafi said that since it was established, PUC has been making endeavours and raising its voice for women’s rights.

PUC is also one of the few religious councils that did not protest the execution of Mumtaz Qadri.

On the day of the execution, Mr Ashrafi said the "execution of Mumtaz Qadri [was the] implementation on laws of the state", and it was the government’s responsibility to ensure the protection of its citizens and make sure the laws of the state are implemented.

He said that civilised society would be turned into ashes if killing and warfare was allowed on the grounds of emotion and affiliations.

Nisar confirms informing India about entry of 'terrorists'
[DAWN] Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan
...Currently the Interior Minister of Pakistain. He is the senior leader of the Pak Moslem League (N) and a close aide to Nawaz Uncle Fester Sharif. He is noted for his vocal anti-American railing in the National Assembly. However (comma) Khan told the U.S. ambassador that he was in fact pro-American but he and the PML-N would have to be critical of US actions in order to remain publicly credible. Khan cited his wife and children's US citizenship as proof, which means he's lying to one side or the other and probably both. He wears a wig, but you probably guessed that. since hair doesn't grow naturally in that shape or texture...
on Tuesday confirmed the news circulating on Indian media that Pakistain alerted India about entry of a number of suspects entering the Indian territory from Pakistain, DawnNews reported on Tuesday.

Briefing The Senate about National Action Plan (NAP), the interior minister maintained that activities by non-state actors have defamed Pakistain in the past and to avoid such instances in future, Pakistain shared the intelligence with India "about the entry of at least 10 men within the Indian territory from Pakistain".

Indian media reports on Sunday suggested that Indian state of Gujrat has been put on high alert following the intelligence reports claiming bully boyz sneaked into the state from across the border.

Hindustan Times reported that Pakistain has shared intelligence inputs regarding their entry with Indian officials.

Nisar repeated his claim that there is absolutely no presence of the Islamic State

Iraq
Captured ISIS head of chemical weapons says they've got mustard gas
The head of ISIS's chemical weapons unit who once worked for Saddam Hussein has been apprehended by American authorities -- and admitted the group has mustard gas, official sources told The Post.

Sleiman Daoud al-Afari is being held at a temporary detention facility in Erbil, Iraq, where US military officials are grilling him about the Islamic State's intentions to use deadly chemical and biological weapons, the sources said.

Defense Department officials described al-Afari as a "significant" ISIS leader who was nabbed in February by elite American commandos.

Since then, al-Afari has offered up crucial details about how the terror organization packed its artillery shells with powdered mustard gas, sources said.

One Defense official told The Post that although the mustard gas was not "concentrated enough" to snuff out a life, it could certainly impair someone.
I'm sure it was designed to be that way out of the goodness of their hearts.
After the US military has completed the interrogation process, al-Afari will be transferred to Iraqi and Kurdish authorities, sources said.
They forgot to say that he sang like a bird for Budweiser beer.
Al-Afari was a former employee of Iraqi despot Saddam Hussein's Military Industrialization Authority.

Saddam was hanged in 2006 by the Iraqi government after being convicted of crimes against humanity.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
White House ’Surprised’ As Netanyahu Declines Obama Invite
[ALMANAR.LB] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu turned down US President Barack Obama
I mean, I do think at a certain point you've made enough money...
's invitation for talks later this month in Washington, a "surprised" White House said Monday.

The episode was just the latest sign of frosty relations between the two leaders on the eve of US Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
The former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body...
's visit to Israel.

An Obama aide said the Israeli government had requested a meeting to take place on March 17 or 18, and the White House had responded selecting the latter date two weeks ago.

"We were looking forward to hosting the bilateral meeting, and we were surprised to first learn via media reports that the prime minister, rather than accept our invitation, opted to cancel his visit," said National Security Council front man Ned Price.

"Reports that we were not able to accommodate the prime minister's schedule are false."

Israel and the United States have been seeking to move past deep disagreement over the Iran nuclear accord, which Netanyahu strongly opposed, and work out a new 10-year defense aid package.

The current deal grants Israel some $3.1 billion annually, in addition to spending on other projects such as missile defense.

Netanyahu's visit in Washington would have coincided with the annual conference of pro-Israeli lobby AIPAC in which he has previously participated.

Vice President Joe Biden is due to start a visit to the occupied territories on Tuesday. The White House said on Friday that Biden would not be pursuing any major new peace initiatives between the Zionist entity and Paleostine during his visit.

MILF chief warns Daesh exploiting popular frustration
[Gulf Today] In Malaysia the head of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front warned that Daesh extremists have been exploiting people's "frustrations" in order to establish a foothold in Mindanao.

MILF chairman Ebrahim Murad said the frustrations come about from the failure of the Philippine Congress to pass the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL). He said, "Now after the non-passage of the bill, we are quite concerned that they (Daesh) can capitalize on this because the sentiment of the people in the area is now very strong."

Murad reiterated the MILF was determined to pursue the path of peace in line with the agreement it signed with the government that led to the crafting of the proposed BBL by a special panel set up by President Aquino.

Murad said, "We cannot completely abandon armed struggle but we always believe we have to give supremacy, primacy to the peace process because we believe solution to the problem is still political. As long as the peace process has a chance to move forward, then we don’t want to revert to violence again."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran exports heavy water, a nuclear reactor component, to US
[IsraelTimes] Tehran says it sold 32 tons of heavy water to America in accordance with nuclear deal

Iran has exported heavy water, a key component for one kind of nuclear reactor, to the United States as part of a landmark nuclear agreement, the country’s semi-official ISNA news agency reported on Tuesday.

The report by ISNA quoted Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi as saying that 32 tons of heavy water have been "sold" to the US since the agreement was implemented in January.

Araqchi, who is in charge of observing implementation of the nuclear deal from the Iranian side, did not disclose the financial aspects of the sale or say why Iran exported heavy water only to the US and not to other countries -- such as Britannia, La Belle France, Germany Russia and China -- that had reached the deal with Iran in July.

This is the first high-tech product that Iran has sold to the United States. Before international sanctions were imposed on Iran over its controversial nuclear program, Iran had exported caviar, carpets and pistachios to the US.

However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits...
Araqchi did say that since January, Iran exported 10 tons of 3.5 percent enriched uranium to Russia and at the same time imported 140 tons of yellow cake, or uranium ore concentrate that is convertible to enriched uranium, from Moscow.

Iran also imported some 60 tons of yellow cake from Kazakhstan.

Those sales are all permissible under the nuclear deal that lifted sanctions imposed on Iran in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program.

Heavy water, formed with a hydrogen isotope, has research and medical applications, but can also be used to produce weapons-grade plutonium. In January, Iran expressed hopes to export excess heavy water produced in the country’s only heavy water reactor in Arak to the U.S. through a third country, for uses in research.

It said then that Savannah River National Laboratory near Jackson, South Carolina, has certified high purity of heavy water produced by Iran.

Iran is still expected to produce some 20 metric tons (22 tons) of heavy water at Arak a year. It has said it would domestically consume about 6 tons for medical isotopes and is looking to export the rest.

Under the deal with world powers, Iran is allowed to use heavy water in its modified Arak nuclear reactor, but must sell any excess supply of both heavy water and enriched uranium on the international market.

Iran missile tests did not violate nuclear deal: White House
[GEO.TV] Iran´s recent ballistic missile tests did not violate the nuclear agreement with Tehran, the White House said on Tuesday, adding that it would review the launch to determine the appropriate response.
Seemingly nothing will violate the treaty...
In a daily press briefing with news hounds, White House front man Josh Earnest said the White House was still reviewing whether it would be necessary to raise the issue of the tests before the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Security Council.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) test-fired several ballistic missiles earlier today.

Two months ago, Washington imposed sanctions against businesses and individuals linked to Iran´s missile programme over a test of the medium-range Emad missile carried out in October 2015.

US State Department front man Mark Toner said Washington would review the incident and, if it is confirmed, raise it in the UN Security Council and press for an "appropriate response".

A UN resolution calls on Iran not to test any missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.

"We also continue to aggressively apply our unilateral tools to counter threats from Iran´s missile program," Toner added, in a possible reference to additional sanctions.

Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC´s aerospace arm, said sanctions would not stop Iran developing its ballistic missiles, which it regards as a cornerstone of its conventional deterrent.

"Our main enemies are imposing new sanctions on Iran to weaken our missile capabilities. But they should know that the children of the land of the Medes and the Persians in the Revolutionary Guards and other armed forces refuse to bow to their excessive demands," the IRGC´s website quoted Hajizadeh as saying.

#1  The only thing that will be considered a violation of the deal will be a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv. And then all Obama would do is to introduce resolution of mild rebuke in the UN.

#2  Yes the missile tests did not violate the Iran-US nuclear deal because that deal didn't cover missiles.

However, the missile tests did violate two UN resolutions.

#4  I'm sure the agreement is written such that a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv would not violate it.
