Body of Libyan executed in Iraq on terrorism charges repatriated
[Libya Herald] The body of Adel Juma Shaalali, the Libyan executed in Iraq last week, arrived at Labraq airport today and was collected by the Red Islamic Thingy which in turn handed it over to his family for burial in his hometown of Derna.

Shaalali, 43, was on death row in Baghdad for four years, having been convicted in August 2012 on terrorism and murder charges. Following protests in December that year by Libyan sympathisers, the Zeidan administration succeeded in persuading the Iraqi government to delay his execution. It was again delayed in April 2014 following legal appeals.

"The possibility that Iraq might execute Shaalali without revealing even basic information about his case highlights grave concerns about Iraq’s justice system," said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East and North Africa director at Human Rights Watch
... During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, HRW received a pledge from the Foundation to Promote Open Society, of which George Soros is Chairman, for general support totaling $100,000,000. The grant is being paid in installments of $10,000,000 over ten years.Through June 30, 2013, HRW had received $30,000,000 towards the fulfillment of the pledge....
. "The Iraqi government should immediately stay Shaalali’s execution."

Shaalali left Libya for Iraq in 2007 and joined Jamaat al-Tawhid wal-Jihad of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi which later became part of the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
. He later caught accused of fighting against the US forces there and of being a terrorist.

At least one, possibly two Iraqi citizens were murdered in Derna after Shaalali’s conviction, it is thought in acts of Dire Revenge by what was then Derna’s Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...

Al-Mansouri: We won’t allow Haftar to enter Derna
[Libya Observer] The official at the media office of the Derna Shura Council, Mohammed al-Mansouri said the council’s fighters had noticed gatherings of Dignity Operation militias in Dahir al-Hamar district with some abnormal moves and signs of mobilization of forces, so they ambushed and attacked them forcing them to pull out away from the administrative borders of Derna.

Al-Mansouri added that a landmine went off during the attack and led to the killing of 4 Dignity Operation fighters, while other 7 fighters were maimed, pointing out that the Derna Shura Council won’t succumb to the siege laid on the city and its residents.

"The commander of 276 Brigade at Haftar’s militias, Muthafar al-Ghaithi, was definitely injured in the attack but we don’t know if he died afterwards, and we have captured nobody from Haftar militias." al-Mansouri added.

He also explained that Derna Shura Council fighters foiled Wednesday an air attack by Haftar’s warplanes using anti-aircraft guns, pointing out that only one fighter from the council was injured.

ISIS will never seize another territory after Sirte defeat, Al-Ghosri sez
[Libya Observer] ISIS diehards have been now cornered in a very little space in Sirte after the Misrata-led forces advanced in many parts of the terrorists’ last hideouts in residential area 3, 600 neighborhood and sea-view Jiza apartment buildings.

The forces seized Tuesday the civil registry court, Eddekhar Bank, where a number of snipers from ISIS radical group were positioned, and an ammo storage stuffed with ammunition, mines, explosives and other military equipment.

The Libya Observer spoke to the front man of al-Bunyan al-Marsoos military operation in Sirte Brigadier Mohammed al-Ghosri on Wednesday and asked him about the ongoing festivities to eradicate the radical group from the city.

China-Japan-Koreas
Norks conduct 5th nuclear test
North Korea appears to have conducted its fifth nuclear test, analysts say, after a 5.3-magnitude artificial earthquake was detected near its nuclear test site Friday morning.

The test came as North Korea celebrates the “day of the foundation of the republic,” the 68th anniversary of the formation of the communist regime by Kim Il Sung, the current leader’s grandfather.

The United States Geological Survey reported a 5.3-magnitude earthquake near Punggye-ri, the site of North Korea’s previous nuclear tests, at exactly 9 a.m. local time.

“Possible explosion, located near the location where North Korea has detonated nuclear explosions in the past,” the USGS said on its website. “If this is indeed an explosion, the USGS National Earthquake Information Center cannot determine what type of explosion it may be, whether nuclear or any other possible type.”

South Korea’s national security council convened an emergency meeting, and Japan said it was highly likely that the explosion was a nuclear test.

In Washington, U.S. National Security Council spokesman Ned Price said in a statement: “We are aware of seismic activity on the Korean Peninsula in the vicinity of a known North Korean nuclear test site. We are monitoring and continuing to assess the situation in close coordination with our regional partners.”

Analysts were convinced it was a nuclear test.

Jeffrey Lewis, director of the East Asia nonproliferation program at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in Monterey, Calif., said it appeared to be the biggest of North Korea’s five tests.

“This is clearly a nuclear test,” Lewis said. “USGS is calling it an explosion because it has all the hallmarks: The waveform is sudden, unlike an earthquake, the depth is shallow, the location is the North Korean test site and it happened on the half-hour.”

#1  It's for self-defense! Lookit all the attacks they've had to fight off, from the whole rest of the world! But they claim they're making the bombs smaller, so they can fit on a missile.

For self-defense, of course.

Mainland China's control or domination of the sea corridors + nations around the East China Sea, as coupled wid its desired recovery of Taiwan is what will make-or-break mainland China's fate as a "US-syle", "US-par" Co-Superpower in East Asia-WESTPAC. Obama has all but given the South China Sea to China already, soon now it will be the East China Sea's turn.

India-Pakistan
‘Financier’ of Mumbai attacks being probed
[DAWN] The prosecution in the Mumbai attacks case informed the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) that the recently-placed in durance vile
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
alleged financier of the attacks was still being investigated and a separate challan
... list of charges ...
would be submitted to the court on September 22.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) last month arrested Sufyan Zafar on the charge of financing the Nov 2008 attacks in Mumbai. The accused had been declared a proclaimed offender in 2011 when the ATC indicted seven people, including Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi
...an asset of the Pak govt and a big turban in Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is actually a redundant statement. Zak was the criminal mastermind behind the 2008 Mumbai attack. Despite what India's provided there is not enough evidence in this world for a Pak court to convict him or even to keep him in the calaboose for very long...
, the alleged criminal mastermind.

According to FIA documents, Zafar, son of Mujtaba Hussain, an ex-activist of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
(LeT), was "one of the financiers of the defunct LeT. He contributed Rs14,800 through MCB Ghalla Mandi branch Gujranwala to the ABL Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
(for Mumbai attacks)."

The FIA has booked Zafar under Sections 7/11-V (fundraising for terrorism), 21-C and 21-I (training and abetting the terrorists) of Anti Terrorism Act 1997, Section 302 (murder) and 109 (aiding) of the Pakistain Penal Code (PPC), and Sections 11/17 and 19 (misuse of encryption, cyber terrorism and attempt to commit offence) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Ordinance.

The Special Investigation Unit of the FIA on February 12, 2009, registered the FIR against the suspects, including Sufyan Zafar, for their alleged connivance in the Mumbai attacks.

FIA deputy director (legal) Waseem Ranjha during an in-camera proceeding informed the special judge of the ATC that they were interrogating the accused in Adiala Jail.

He assured the court that the challan against the accused would be submitted to the court on September 22.

Sources in the prosecution told Dawn that after the submission of the challan the court would indict the accused.

India financing terrorism in Pakistan: FO
[DAWN] The Foreign Office on Monday accused India of financing terrorism in Pakistain, saying that "open evidence is available on India’s involvement in subversive activities".

The FO statement comes just days after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a veiled reference towards Pakistain at a recent G20 forum, said "one single nation in South Asia is spreading agents of terror in countries of our region".

FO Spokesman Nafees Zakaria, hitting back at Modi’s statement, said that "India is in fact that single nation".

The FO statement comes as Modi while addressing ASEAN member nations at a summit in Laos sought a coordinated response against the "export of terror", Times of India reported.

"Export of terror, growing radicalisation and spread of extreme violence are common security threats to our societies," he told the summit, in what is believed to be another apparent reference to Islamabad.

Zakaria said that the confessional statement made by tossed in the clink
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
Indian Intelligence Agency Research and Analysis Wing officer Kalbhushan Jadhav had made it clear that which country was in fact spreading terrorism.

When asked if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
would raise the issue of Kalbhushan Jadhav at the upcoming United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
General Assembly session, the FO front man said "the issue of Indian involvement would definitely be highlighted".

Iraq
Saudi Ambassador to Iraq kicked out of country
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Iraqi government sent the Saudi Ambassador, Thamer al-Subhan, packing this past weekend after the Gulf official made several disparaging remarks about the Iraqi Army.

The Iraqi government has requested a dipolomatic replacement from the Kingdom of Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, as Baghdad will no longer recognize Subhan.

Making matters worse, Subhan’s cousin was killed by the Iraqi Army two weeks.

The cousin was a member of the so-called "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. Palestinian court postpones long-awaited local elections
Unexpectedly.
[IsraelTimes] Elections pushed off until late December, at the earliest. October vote had been heralded as first large-scale ballot for Palestinians since 2006. Hamas rejects decision, calling it ‘political’.

Analysis: Hamas, Fatah shed no tears over suspended local elections

[IsraelTimes] Both sides had something to lose if the vote had proceeded as planned in October, but the Gaza-based terror group had more at stake.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hezbollah to move into south Syria, just across Israel border
[IsraelTimes] Hezbollah fighters are preparing to move into southern Syria, a stone’s throw from the border with Israel’s Golan Heights, Iranian state media reported Monday.

"Hezbollah has deployed a large number of its forces at Quneitra passage which has connected the Syrian territories to the occupied Golan," unnamed sources told the semi-official Fars news agency.

According to the sources, the Hezbollah fighters will be taking part in an "anti-terrorism" operation with Syrian ruler Bashir al-Assad’s army to fight the various hard boy groups located in the Syrian Golan Heights.

The IDF would not comment specifically on the reports that Hezbollah would be taking positions close to the Israeli border, but said it "closely monitors all of Israel’s borders, including in the north, and remains prepared for any scenario."

The Syrian Army, the Fateh al-Sham
...formerly al-Nusra, the current false nose and mustache of al-Qaeda in the Levant...
Front and the Khalid ibn al-Walid Army have been waging a bloody war in southern Syria, which occasionally spills over into Israeli territory.

The salafist
...also known as Wahhabis, salafists are against innovation in religion or in anything else. They eat the same things every meal of every day and all their children are named Abdullah or Mohammed. Not all salafists are takfiris, but all takfiris are salafists. They are fond of praying five times a day and killing infidels...
Fateh al-Sham Front, an affiliate of al-Qaeda, is the new name for the group formerly known as the al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front.

The group changed its name on July 28, the same day it was recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States and Iran. The next day Russia joined them in declared it terrorist and the day after that, the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
followed suit.

Similarly, the Khalid ibn al-Walid Army is another successor to a terrorist organization that had been operating out of the Syrian Golan Heights in recent months: the Yarmouk Martyr’s Brigade.

In May, the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-affiliated Yarmouk Martyr’s Brigade merged with two smaller IS groups in the area, the Islamic Muthanna Movement and the Army of Jihad, to form the Khalid ibn al-Walid Army.

"The Syrian army and Hezbollah fighters have been working on a joint plan to end militancy in Southern Syria, particularly near the Golan Heights," the sources told Fars.

An attempt by the United States and Russia to broker a partial peace deal in Syria fell through this week, though both sides said they were committed to continuing the effort.

Washington and Moscow support opposing sides in the five-year conflict, which has killed upwards of 300,000 people and forced millions to flee.

Syrian Kurds, allies to approve federal plan despite Turkey
[ALMASDARNEWS] Syrian Kurdish groups and their allies will approve a constitution for a new system of government in northern Syria next month, a top Kurdish politician said, defying a Turkish incursion aimed at curbing Kurdish influence in the area.

The new system will be established in parts of the north where Kurdish groups have already carved out autonomous regions since the start of the Syrian conflict in 2011, alarming The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
which fears the rise of Kurdish influence on its border.

More Syrian Muslim
[CreepingSharia]. "Actually, Boise has been recognized nationally and even internationally in some situations as a welcoming community," Jan Reeves with the Idaho Office of Refugees said.

Reeves says Idaho has been resettling refugees since the mid 1970s, and over that period of 40 years has seen roughly 20,000 come to the Gem State.

"Roughly a thousand to eleven-hundred refugees arrive in Idaho each year and this has been true for about the last four or five years," Reeves said.
Sure. Boise looks a lot like Aleppo. Or will in the near future...
Renee Hage with World Relief says those refugees are coming from all over the world.

"Boise is pretty diverse. We don’t just get one group of people, we get several," Hage said. "So they could be coming from the Democratic Republic of Congo. They could be coming from Somalia. They could be coming from Iraq. A few are coming from Syria."

"I really think it’s the people because the greatest success of integration and welcome is people meeting people," Hage said.
Is it just me, or does the above sound like a suicide note?
A year after arrival, how many of those refugees remained in Idaho? The winters get pretty cold, and we don't have guards at the state line.

#1  How can the US-Allies win the GWOT when our political leadership refuses to acknowledge Radical Islam as the Enemy, when only one side or camp is unilaterally doing most or all of the concedin'-n-compromisin'-n-reforming, etc.???

UNDER SUCH CONDITIONS, THE CALIPHATE MAKE TAKE A TIME OR AWHILE TO FORM, BUT ULTIMATELY IT WILL.

One should hope that a POTUS Trump will make good on his call for a quick defeat of the ISIS/ISIL.
